It's just part of the trend in mainstream psychology to "clinicalize" every single personality flaw

If you can't concentrate, you have "ADHD". If you can't talk to people, you have "social anxiety". If you are an attention whore, you are "histrionic". And if you are an asshole, you are a "sociopath".

This clinicalization is, of course, well recieved by parents who did a shit job of raising their kids. If their childrens personality flaws are a result of some immutable psycholgical bullshit, they don't have to feel guilty. That's part of the reasin why this trend is so widespread.

At least half of these modern day psychological conditions are bullshit. I bet a so called "sociopath" could easily be cured by getting their asses kicked. Although, that never happens these days, hence why it is a "condition" now.

I was in a thread last night related to a super creepy guy who stalked me at work. He was good looking, suave, dressed professionally...but something was wrong. Like from the movie American Psycho. He was suave and pressured me twice into giving him my phone number, and I regretted it the second I did.

It was two weeks of him obsessing over me via text and me telling him to leave me alone. He kept saying how he pictured telling our grandkids how we met, yet I've only seen him at my job twice in my life. He asked me out multiple times until I gave him a bitter response NO. Then a few hours later he stormed into my job while keeping his hand in his jacket as if he had a gun.

He looked pale and super nervous with his voice shaking while he forced a fake psychopath smile asking why I rejected him. He happily hinted some violent shit and I talked him into leaving, on his way out he said "AH IM SO FUCKED IN THE HEAD!!!!" I sincerely think that he would have killed me that night, or definitely if I dumped him in a relationship. It's been months and I still get nervous when I'm working night shifts alone.
