I could not relate to my classmates, so most social situations made me very uncomfortable. In retrospect it seems like the correct choice was to give a variation of "we ALL gonna make it, bruh! Woooooooooooooooo" in response to everything they said, but that was not obvious at the time.

I once asked a girl I had a massive crush on out to the homecoming dance in my sophomore year. She turned me down, not too brutally, but made it very clear she wasn't interested.

Found out a few days later that she told everyone that I groped her ass, even though I was never within arms length of her. Suddenly people were shooting me dirty looks and refusing to talk to me, and calling me a creep. I wasn't exactly popular to begin with, but after this I instantly became a social pariah. Nobody would sit with me at lunch, nobody would even speak with me. I tried to explain I didn't do it, but of course nobody would believe the "creepy ass grabber".

It came to a head when a bunch of upperclassmen from band cornered me after school and took turns shoving and punching me in one of the band practice rooms. I was so scared I vomited all over myself. When they were done, they told me if I grabbed another girl's ass ever again they'd beat me twice as hard. I never said anything to anyone because I thought that the teachers and my parents wouldn't believe me either, and I'd be made even more of a pariah or even get some sex charge thrown at me.

That was the loneliest, most awful year of my life. Thankfully I moved away around a year later. Now I have a nice, well paying software job, a car to drive, a roof over my head, and food to eat. But I feel like I've been ruined for life as far as romantic intimacy goes. I can't even approach a woman with anything other than stiff, emotionless, businesslike demeanor, lest I feel like I'm having a heart attack.

My life could be worse, and I'm not hateful of anyone right now. But I have some idea as to why some students shoot up schools.
