In Japan parents do fund it. They usually get angry and threaten to cut fuinding but they never do because the shame of a son moving back is worse.

Also, 1 bedroom apartments are cheap as fuck in Japanese cities. Unlike here where they are expensive for some absurd reason Japan places value on family homes, not apartments for lazy cunts/students. Lazy cunts and students lack funds and thus rent is cheaper for said type of places in order to fill them.
