I arrived, and knocked on the door, and dogs started barking, pretty normal I guess

Then his son came and gave me the hard drive

If I had to guess I'd say it's because White people are all about MAN UP and be your own man and shit, and parents will kick you out of the house or you'll leave on your own accord because you can't stand your parents/want some privacy. If I got kicked out I would have no qualms sending my old folks to a retirement house.

I get along better with my grandpa than my mother does, and likewise when living at home I used to get into arguments about how well I'm doing in school and things like that.

The bad family relations usually seem to develop during the teen years that decide what you'll become when you grow up, and because of the pressure to spend so many years in school (which means you also won't work and pay for your own things)

But then when you get past that successfully and get grandkids it's all fun and games, but you might have a bad relation to your own kids.

I mean it's understandable, because you have pressure to make your kid outdo yourself in the worklife they get into when they graduate, and even then they have to produce grandkids for your time invested into them to be worth it.

But then when that happens, your work is complete and you can spend your elderly days happily knowing that what you leave behind is in good hands.

I love my grandparents and parents for all they've done for me, but it's easy because when I am the youngest generation the family's future is on my shoulders and I can trust myself better than someone else. But if I had a child I would probably be a drill sergeant of a father because I couldn't trust my kid to develop a similar temperament as myself naturally in a world like this where the basic survival instinct is completely unstimulated and there's no immediate incentive to act on it.
