Come on, there has to be some speedcubers on /r9k/ It's one of the most robotic hobbies there is.
I tried to get into it 7 years ago or so when it was somewhat popular in Germany.
I nevet got under 25 average because my look ahead was bad and I didnt want to bother learning all 6 million oll and pll algorithms.
What is your average OP and what cube do you use?
>>37169959
My average is about 12 seconds with a Gans 356. I lost my lube though, so my times haven't been so good lately. I'll need to buy more before my next competition.
Did you ever compete?
>>37170058
Damn. People with sub 15 seem insane to me.
I never heard of Gans 356. Is it faster than F2l?
No, of course I dont compete. Whats the point if you are not at least sub 10 or so.

Gans356 is the cube, I still use CFOP as a method.
I've been competing since i was over 20 seconds, it's fun to beat personal bests and meet other cubers
>>37170058
how long did it take you to reach sub 20?
>>37170200
About 8-9 months I think, definitely under a year, although that was with a Rubik's brand back in 2006
>>37170147
Oh, sorry should have googled it. I had two cubes: a white Sheng En and Dayan 2, which was the meme cube at the time.
I always wanted to get back into it but I give up after two days or so.

how do i get into speedcubing? should i start learning cfop?
>>37170716
Buy a cube, even the cheap $5 cubes are much better than anything existing 5-10 years ago. Learn LBL first, then CFOP.
I'd say learn the f2l, then PLL then OLL parts of it.
How long does it take you to do the Revenge and Prof?
I'm not a speedcuber, so I used to average 20 and 30 minutes respectively. I expect I would've got significantly faster had they not broken.

Few people will know what 'revenge' and 'prof' mean now.
I can do the revenge in about 50 seconds, and the prof in about 1 minute 25 seconds.
