Question for 20 year olds of /r9k/: looking at the chart posted, and based on your upbringing, do you feel more like late Millennials, or early Gen Zers?
>>
>>37034121
in terms of just shows and tech, the middle one. I never watched the Disney channel though.

attitude and outlook wise i feel more aligned with the generation that grew up in the 90s though
>>
>>37034121
Gen Z starts at the year 2000, not 2006.
>>
>>37034326
The dates are the time periods where the things were popular, not birth dates. Notice how it says "Popularity" next to each year span.

>>
None really, there are a couple of things I grew up with in each but none of it is anything I'd count as a major part of my upbringing
>>
>>37034121
>you can only watch cartoons for 6 years of your life
>>
>>37034121
also fuck you for reminding me how nice childhood was and that I can never go back
>>
>>37034359
The dates are the time periods where the things were most popular

You could still watch something like, say, Recess after 2000 via reruns, but the time period where everyone was talking about it was 1997-2000.

>Late Millennial Culture
>Popularity 2000-2006
>implying spongebob popularity died in 2006
>literally spongebob memes made from Gen Z everyday
whoever made this chart has a severe autism
>>
>>37034310
What outlook is that? The whole "only 90s kids are special" bullshit?

I cannot relate to any of these.
I was a young, self aware kid since the early 90's and I never took part in any of the things listed there.
>>
>>37034387
mostly music taste, jargon, etc
>only 90s kids are special
is that really a thing past the bullshit "only 90s kids remember" meme?
>>
>>37034400
That seems to be the feeling I get from the only 90s kids crap, it's like they're saying "we are the special generation, look at all this stuff we had, it is so outdated and therefore cool, we are truly the special ones", and that kind of shit annoys me, you aren't special because of when you were born. But yeah the 90's jargon wasn't all that and a bag of potato chips, I was born in 93 and I barely remember it so maybe I'm not old enough to look back and romanticise it, or not stupid enough maybe
>>
>>37034121
twenty year olds as people in their twenties, or just twenty?
>>
>>37034501
Just 20 famamam
>>
>>37034466
I don't romanticize it, I just have been around "true" 90s kids (I was born in 97) so often that it's just become part of how I talk
>>
>>37034121
A mix between Early Millenial and Late Millenial
>>
>>37034515
I didn't mean you or anything man, I just meant the whole outlook in general

not 20 either, im 25 and theres a lot more of late millennial culture i identify with. i never thought why.
>>
>>37034466

i don't think anybody is saying the 90s were a special time, we're just sharing in nostalgia

On Reddit, Facebook, and Buzzfeed, people who grew up in the 90s suck the dick of that decade and praise themselves for growing up in it.

But to be fair, people have done that for every other decade. And I'm starting to see people who were kids in the early 2000s do it too. Like all these people on /v/ and Reddit claiming GTA San andreas and Simpsons Hit and Run are the best games known to man.
>>
>>37034385
Spongebob's popularity didn't die in 2006 but the show died that year, turned into retarded unfunny bullshit

>inb4 "u grew up"
No, even people who were adult fans of the show, due to the hidden adult jokes and the stoner feel of seasons 1-3, hated what came after because it became dumb and generic, like a Nick Jr. show
>>
definitely late millennial. but this generation shit is retarded anyway.
>>
I once knew a sweet young girl;
Her body was her world of love,
Her laughter was as happiness is.
Of all the times I treasure this.
And on a day we will remember,
On a clear day we will love forever.

I once knew a sweet young dream,
That if life itself were all we had
And who are we to ask for more;
Let's not decide, let's be sure.
And on a day we will remember,
On a clear day we'll all be together,
Together.

"'Late millennial,'' born in '97. No one seems able to agree if gen z starts in '95 or 2000. Leaning strongly right I identity with the described conservative gen z.

I didn't used to hate Boomers but then I noticed they shit on everyone under 40 for fun and chose cheap labor and welfare over their childrens future.

But which side of the chart do you identify most with

I'm 21 years old and outside of owning a PS3 I have never watched or played anything on the Gen Z culture chart. I have done and own everything on the Late Millennial Culture chart though. I still have my PS2 as well.

19, middle and right. Although Steven Universe and Sillybandz were sort of past when I would do stuff like that. Also no idea what Wonder Over Yonder is.
