To make a perfectly good knife. Get a blank 1082 piece of stock, draw knife on it, cold forge with swage to furrow, grind knife into shape, cut handle, dip knife in hot canola oil after heating it red hot to temper it. Finish it off with a pommel and beveled/round grind.

i generally dont know about buck being a good brand, ive heard constantly that spyderco is well received so i don't doubt that. however benchmade seems to be 50/50. ive had varying problems with their blade, between holding an edge, overall sharpness, shit like that. never all at once which would make it garbage... just should be better.
