LA County here, getting a CCW is impossible unless you're rich, extremely well connected, or have a very specific job. (Transporting diamonds or stuff like that.)

I'm planning on getting my first handgun pretty soon, kind of a hard decision with our shitty "Safe Handgun Roster" bullshit since most popular options for the rest of the country aren't on the list. It'll be a full-size gun since its main purposes will be range shooting and home defense, but I'll be applying for a CCW and getting a compact gun as soon as the laws change or I move somewhere else.
