To a degree some of <race> smell comes from scents culturally relevant to their nations. Another part of it has to do with diets. Besides that there are immune systems (Google the sweaty t shirt test, your immune system changes how you smell from person to person).

For that last factor, anyone unlike you in terms of immune system is likely to smell somewhat nice- obviously people from different places have different immune systems. That aside, the effect doesn't necessarily only occur on a racial scale.

Ie. My sister says my mom and I smell "sickly sweet" in a gross way. My gf says I smell amazing. We're all white but my gf is from a very far-off whitenation

1. East Asians have flaky & dry earwax. Almost everybody else have wet earwax.
2. The gene that controls earwax also controls the genes for body odor. If you have dry earwax. you also dont produce alot of body odor from your armpits, genital regions, etc.
