How does /r9k/ make money? The most obvious way to make money is by getting a job (exchanging your time for service as a resource in exchange for currency). What is your job and how is your general impression of it, the pay, etc? What skills do you need and how easy is it to get hired.
I'm currently unemployed and need help finding work. I have no experience. Please help and talk about your jobs and careers with each other.

i have degree in cs
easy to get in, just showed them my degree and did a lil test
but anything that requires soft skills takes a lot more effort (good CV, evidence of ability etc.)

Right. As of now I'm finish up a bio degree so it's too late to change majors or get another degree. And with no work experience it's going to be hard to have a good resume. I'd like to think I'm a smart guy and I'm willing to learn.

Sure but you probably can't afford cool things like muscle cars.

I'm a project manager for an automotive engineering company, working with autonomous driving technology. I make about $120k a year including bonuses, and I'm 10 years out of college with a bachelor's degree.
I could be making a good bit more elsewhere, or if I had jumped companies a few times, but I like the company I work for, I like the people I work with, and the benefits are superb.

Security Guard
Quality of the job depends on your post, when I was with securitas they had be all over the place, the company I'm currently with has had me in the same spot for a couple years now and it's fairly comfy, the weather is the worst part since I'm in a guard shack at the gate most of the day doing access control
I spend my day shit posting or watching stuff on my phone and checking people's credentials as they come in and do some light paperwork filling out activity reports and access logs for stuff like vendors and waste management
Pay is above minimum wage and more than I was making per hour at securitas but still sucks, I do miss their uniforms though, the ones we have at this company make me look like I work at walmart
Are there any jobs that a low IQ social retard can get?

I work at G4S for a shipping center. I enjoy it.
Property owner, people give me money for living or working in buildings that I own.
I'm not a landlord, because landlords work.
I pay someone to be a landlord.

You guys have decent uniforms
Ours is just a blue polo with the company logo on the shoulder and security stamped on the back and not embroidered and khaki cargo pants that we have to provide, they hate giving us new shirts too even though more than half of mine are faded and the company logo has started to peel off of one of them

The truth Is, their are no jobs you can just walk into with no training/education and lead a healthy and fruitful career with. Unfortunately for all of us, the bygone era of our fathers and their fathers was a different experience. Climbing the corporate ladder, starting from the bottom and working your way up is no more. Of course their are jobs. But those jobs are wickedly horrible. You could pump gas, work in soul crushing retail, apply to be a janitor in your local school district. You could always pick up a cashier job at a supermarket. Although, being a cashier is hell on earth. If you haven't worked behind a register with the public, I'd highly recommend it. Cashier or restaurant work should make you wake up and realize you need to pursue something much better if you wish to succeed in your life and have financial stability and independence. Shitty jobs can ignite the spark to make you want to move ahead and do something far more advanced. Waiters and line cooks are for coke heads and degenerates who have had run ins with the law. Felons, drug addicts, losers. That's who is working in most restaurants and supermarkets. I decided to take a loan for $2k and take a 6 month course for dental assisting at my community college. I have my exams in July. I'll be working a white collar profession before the Fall. The pay isn't extravagant. Although, I Will have job security and benefits like healthcare and a pension. Get into a trade school, tech school, college course. Find something that the idea of doesn't compel you to blow your brains out. It's not difficult, just takes time and effort. Good luck.

I am 25 and ill be turning 26 in a few weeks. I was/am a gigantic fuck up in terms of modern societal expectations. It was never too late to turn it around, though. I've been NEET intentionally for most of the time since HS graduation.

Wow anon you have it made. What did you major in? What kind of skills do you use and what kind of capabilities do you need to to the job correctly.
>>36974440
>Pay is above minimum wage
Seems comfy as fuck.
>>36974730
This is basically my experience, living at home with my parents sheltered me, I moved out and had to get 2 full time jobs just to make rent, I realised then that I needed some form of education, and I went to my local college and did a degree. I'm going to be earning double what I earned doing both them jobs, for half the amount of hours, when I start my new job in 7 weeks. That said not everyone is smart enough to just go and walk a degree, so if you're stupid I'd say, if you're highly motivated and have some common sense then get out there and start a business for yourself, and suffer the hell that comes with that, and if you're not then get some form of better shit job, like a forklift driver or something, and get comfortable with it.

This is similar to my thoughts. I'm 23 and am trying to finish up this biology degree. I was immature before which led me to a few fucks ups in college. I would rather play video games than seriously study. But since I've had a wake up call as I've gotten older and noticed how time fucking flies and I have nothing to show for all my wasted time. I also feel this way about lack of friendships and girlfriends. I'm pretty desperate and am considering joining some dating sites. But I know how miserable service jobs can be and would hate having to do that the rest of my time. I've slapped myself awake now and am trying to find a job and finish up this bio degree. My plan was to go to med school but I kind of fucked up. I need to take a step back, get some experience and finish strong. Becoming a doctor is difficult so I might just be forced to be a loser. I'm a smart guy but lazy.

I see, I'm in a similar position except I'm 21 and the longest I've ever held a job was about 2 months.
Good luck with your education goals my man.
