discord I get lonely if I don't fit in. It's like yelling into a void where nobody cares about you or pays attention to what you say. You won't likely befriend all the people there, and you'll feel out of it when you take a step back. The same people get orbited and its like a popularity contest in the worst cases.

Steam, at least because its 1 on 1 you only see how they talk to you. If they're bad you can stop, and they feel like a friend if they're nice.

Neither is perfect but Discord makes me feel lonelier if it isn't 1 on 1. I really want to find a nice server but its hard

I've tried for about 2 months to cherrish relationships on steam / Discord and keep good friends, about 2 of them turned out to be somewhat nice people who I genuinely enjoy talking to regularly.
