Chocolate milk is very helpful for this, it's easy to pack away 1000 calories without too much trouble. I like pasta as well, use ground beef and don't drain the fat as it bump up the the energy and taste comsiderably. It's a little too filling but oat flour and two scoops of whey with milk makes for a nice shake. If you havea good blender you can freeze kale and blend so it's very fine. It doesn't have much taste in the brotein oat shake but gets more nutrients in. MK677 was what really helped me put on weight. It's pricy but I actually felt hungry for once. It made my hands start hurting though, so you have to dial in the dosage to just below what causes swelling.
I don't know your reasons for diet soda but I drink it because regular upsets my stomach causing horrible cramps. I find after I've been up for a few hours it's tolerable though. Mild for some reason doesn't cause gi distress. Maybe the fat is protective or something.
