How long should you wait before getting married? I'm thinking six months, and if she says no just end it.
I would never propose to someone I hadn't lived in the same place with for a few months at least

Why not? I've made decisions on who I'd live with for an entire year after talking to them for 5 minutes. It's never worked out badly so far.
At least live with them for a year
I had a roommate for a year and it didn't take until the last 3 months or so for him to become a super lazy shit and my other roommate kicked him out because he was tired of cleaning up after him

6 months is too soon. A lot can change after that. Ideally, I would wait 2.5-three years before getting married. I want to avoid divorce so the decision has to be completely certain, and they need to prove themselves to me. I've seen a lot of relationships go to shit after two years especially, so that makes me want to be even more cautious. I hope to find my wife before turning 27 (22 right now) so that we can get married by the time I'm 30.
Are you guys mad, or am I? I would not consider marriage until living together for at LEAST 2 years.

This is different. Marriage laws are pretty skewed right now, if things start taking a turn for the worse you aren't just changing your housing situation, you're risking assets and there's a potential for kids to be in the mix.

This is honestly the right thing to do. If your girl is worth marrying, she'll feel the same way.
stop posting about marriage on /r9k/ you fucking normalfag pieces of shit REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
You guys are fucking insane you don't marry someone after half a year or even a year. Once you go three years then maybe you can consider it.

>getting married

This. I wouldn't have sex with them until getting married either, and would only move in with them a year before we plan on getting married as a final test kinda thing. Moving in too early can really dull the relationship and when it's official it's not very exciting I would assume.

I agree but that's why I'd say get married before you live together. After you get married after living together for what three years a lot of excitement is already gone. You just go back to the exact same life again.

>married
You're giving her total power on your life. She can destroy you on a whim.
Don't marry someone you wouldn't trust with a loaded gun pointed at your head 24/7.

But what if after living in together you two can't get along anymore? Some people have bad habits they do in the privacy of their own home. What if they're secretly messy or lazy? I don't know, I'd like to know what it's like living with my spouse before saying 'I do'.
IMO you need to be with her for at least a year and live with her for at least half a year to marry her. BUT if she is YIN you marry her ASAP BECAUSE YIN IS PERFECTION
Take note, Laura

Bad habits can be worked on together then. Besides the way we are now it's more than likely that they'll have lived with roommates before and know what's acceptable. I'm not worried about shit like that breaking up a marriage.
