I always thought, from a strategic point of view, that it was better to have one kid at a time, maybe two, make sure you have some sort of moral foundation, financial support, etc... so you can raise them right. Popping out nine kids works fine as long as you don't have to worry about addiction, health and safety, and their future prospects are farming or housekeeping.
