I'm against gun control, because I think I should have guns.
Now there are a lot of reasons to be against gun control too. If you have a bunch of legal guns, then eventually some of those will become illegal guns. This is just a fact. The country I live in has strict gun control and less gun violence than USA. I think this is because there are simply less guns here.

Ban all guns but start letting people use swords.

Every man would be expected to carry his sword on his person at all times. It would encourage people to practice with their blade so that they could defend themselves. Armour and shield would be useful for those lacking in the skills to defend themselves with just their sword.
Thugs and criminals would be at a disadvantage as they wouldn't be smart or disciplined enough to be a threat to a good swordsman.

Also this is patently false, British swordsmen would beat their more skilled French counterparts in duels simply by rushing them down and hacking at them blindly. There needs to be a MASSIVE skill gap, far greater than the average citizen will achieve, to fend off an attacker rushing you with a bladed weapon.

I live in europe and im all for gun legislation. I do believe that a big reason as to why there are many more terrorist attacks in Europe today than in the US is that if terrorists would attempt to, for example, go out into the streets and shoot a bunch of people in the US, they would be gunned down within a mater of minutes.
If private ownership of firearms were to become legal in Europe, i think we would see much less terrorist attacks.
