God I miss it. I get paid really decent money and work like one day a week now, but I really miss working with those kids.

There were so many fucked up stories, but there was a bond you had with those kids. And when you had bro-tier staff members, there was a level of camaraderie that you just don't see else where.

'Tism wrangling is probably closest analogized to being at war, except you get to go home at the end of your shift.

The answer is IDEA makes it federal law. And honestly, it's a lot more humane. And it can be done properly.

We're all sharing some severely fucked up stories here, but keep in mind that not every day was like this. I mean, every day was pretty much a cluster fuck, but it's not all finger-banging and floor-shitting. Every wrangler has these stories. The insanity of the stories and the adrenaline rush during a physical altercation are only a small part of the reason we do it.

The truth if that most public schools aren't equipped to handle these kids. The school I worked at? We were.

We were specifically for the worst of the worst in the entire region. And we saw progress. It took a 1.5:1 student to staff ratio to do that, but we accomplished fucking miracles. With iPads, the nonverbal kids could fucking talk. They asked for things. Their aggression plummeted. Would they ever fully function in society? Hell no. But their quality of life and their parents' quality of life were all greatly improved.

Only people who truly love the work do it, especially for the garbo pay we're given to put up with this (sometimes literal) shit.

Let's be real.
A lot of autists have things in common with Chris. A lot of robots and /b/tards have things in common with Chris. But either way, I think it's safe to say Chris has a lot more shit going on, and he's far more dysfunctional than most of us. Chris is just a really bad coincidental case of unchecked narcissism, crippling autism, and family dysfunction. And of course he is (was, more like) incredibly easy to troll. There are many like him but this one is ours.

This is the one that's the hardest to explain to people who don't know the whole story around Chris, or just assume that we have fun provoking an actual autist.

Partially from being raised a certain way, and partially from simply being who he is, Chris has one of the worst cases of narcissism I've ever seen. His ego is massive and his self-interest/importance/delusion is almost legendary. He is his own worst enemy, and so many of his problems - both personally and with trolls - comes from the fact that he can't fucking grasp this.
