Well I care more about his philosophy than his killcount, the fact that he killed people served the purpose of getting my attention. Eric and Dylan are at least as interesting, and I'd love to know what drove them in more detail than is available, but I don't think I'd have as much in common with them as with Elliot. Wrong, his kill count was lacklustre but his ideology and mythos was crystal clear, and that's ultimately more important.

None of these guys went postal because of an inherent drive towards violence, they were simply ground down by the systematic marginalisation of young, unconfident males. the fact Elliot was (comparatively) relatable and humanised makes it harder for society to dismiss the underlying ills that these shootings are symptom of.

Like everyone here, I've had desires to exact some grand revenge on those who've done me wrong (not that I'd ever go through with them nice Mr. NSA man) but ultimately I'd much prefer to be in a situation where I wouldn't want to, don't you?
