Daily reminder that smartfags in uni can't be robots. Being a brainlet is far more troublesome than be an ugly socially inept virgin.
>>36418556
What about smartfags studying from home?
>>36418624
Doesn't matter. As long as they're capable of getting a degree or high paying job, they're not robots.
>>36418646
But what if it's a meme degree, like English?
>tfw I want to major in English because it's the one thing I'm a good at
>>36418530
One of my theory professors makes me uncomfortable. The way I catch her looking at me sometimes before class starts makes me think she wants to get BLACKED but I really don't want that at all.
>>36418556
>BAWWWW YOU'RE NOT *REAL* ROBOTS LIKE *ME*
Go to /v9k/ with your purist shit and stay there, let the unifags have this one thread
>>36418810
>being good at English
How? I'm not good at math, science, or anything else, but I'm especially bad at English.
>>36418872
Are you saying you're having a hard time with it? What exactly is challenging you?
i cant stop sleeping through classes because i get bored during people talking the entire time
>>36418927
It doesn't matter now, I already dropped out. Idk. I always skipped writing essays in highschool because I couldn't do them. I don't know what to write. Same goes for college. Obviously there was no sense for me to stay in
I'm already a technical engineer. Now I'm going for a B.Eng and a M.Eng. Wish me luck.
>studying CS
>hate it
>find it boring and I have terrible grades
>Still one more year to go till I graduate
>currently failing Data Structures course
>need to intern in May and June
>found a place where I'll just be working at a computer service place, fixing up and cleaning PCs and Laptops because no one will hire me on a software developer job because of my lack of skills
>have math exams in May so I need to study for those too, even though I'm barely passing the class
just end my life
>>36418957
In my opinion, there's a big difference between just putting words on paper and writing what and how you feel like writing. It's about finding your own style of writing and realising just how engaging and helpful taking writing classes is. The more you look into it the more interested and eager to write you'll become, and once you get your creative juices rolling there's nothing holding you back. More often than not, at least from my experience, it comes down to some people having an affinity for writing and everything about words in general. Think of the paper being your playground and you'll see how much easier it'll become - there are no limits when it comes to writing. (Unless we're talking about bullshit assignments which you might as well meme your way through)
>jus b urself
>lab grade needs to be 150 to pass the course
>class median is 45 points

>only got five hours of sleep once my heart rate went down
>have no idea how to do the questions that'll be on the quiz
>lump on my tongue is still there
Course work loses priority when there's a chance you won't wake up the next morning
>>36419098
I don't feel or like writing though. Not with me. The more I try writing the less motivated I become. It's draining. We are talking about bullshit assignments. That's what needs to be done in college.
>>36419277
So you don't like it, gotcha. What are you studying now?
>tfw will graduate in June
>I'd like to do MA, but the only program that interests me is in another uni in another city
>this means I'd need to find a place to live, which means flatmates (don't wanna live in dorms)
>pressure intensifies.jpg
>>36419331
It's not just that I don't like it. I can't do it either. Idk. My mom made me go to community college (I couldn't go to uni because I graduated late with a 1.3 gpa). I was just taking gen ed classes like math and english but I failed them. I even failed film class. The only class I passed was physical anthropology which was easier than most highschool classes.
That's what I was studying. I stopped going to classes in March.
>>36419273

You actually have good reason to do so.

>>36419474
I was already thinking about dropping out, so I guess this works out. I'm not even sure if it's epiglottitis, so I'm just leaving it alone to see if my body can fend off whatever is wrong.
>>36419439
So you're lazy. You can snap out of it, anon, I believe in you!
>>36419719
No, I'm a brainlet. It's already too late anyway. My mom will probably kick me out when she finds out I was lying to her about going to school.
>>36418530

pretty decent i guess. A in World War 2. A- in State and Local Governments. B+ in History of American Cities. and B in intro psychology just because i never go to class.
>How many exams/papers/projects left?
just 3 exams and a final paper
>Do your professors love/hate you?

>Taking any summer classes?
fuck no
I still hate college though. This has been the worst 3 years of my life so far.
>>36418530
I skipped class today because it was drizzling outside. I woke up, took a shower, brushed my teeth and when I saw that it was raining I decided not to go. I was going to get my test score back today. For a test that I didn't study for.
There's only 3.5 weeks until the semester is over and i'm starting to let my grades slip. I'm just so tired. I just want it to stop
>Was getting A's in all my classes
>Couldn't get to sleep before 4am this week
>Miss two of my classes twice
>Attendance scores mean I'll only get a B now probably
Very anticlimactic way to end the semester
>>36420051
Me too, where are you from?
>>36420432
Engineering school in missouri, USA. In the middle of bumfuck nowhere (I actually like the location). Where are you from and how are you handling it?
Calc 2 Professor Has daily 10 minute quizzes which need more than 10 minutes to complete, basically the entire reason I have a C. I asked her after class to make them shorter and she actually agreed! Game changer.
>>36420520
Oh, Eurofag here. Law student. But my day was the same. Drizzle, fuck it, criminal procedure test results.

>>36421032

>How are those grades?

A few, I think I only have 3 real finals, the rest are just regular tests
>Do your professors love/hate you?
>implying they know I exist
>Taking any summer classes?
Yeah 2, one online, I'm only taking them to get financial aid to pat rent for summer.
My roommate and me are not speaking anymore, we share a studio and I am counting the days till this prick is finally gone home for the summer.
>>36419090
Im starting for CS in the fall. Any tips? General thoughts?
Engineering math prof dropped an easy mode take home final out of nowhere yesterday, so that's one source of stress gone. Still don't see myself passing one of my physics courses, which fucks up early graduation plans. But I'm finally getting some interviews for summer positions so overall things are looking okay.
>>36421195
If you're shit at math then you're in for a rude awakening.
CS is just an applied mathmatics degree with better job prospects.
>>36421195
be prepared to dedicate a lot of your free time in studying it on your own because the shit they teach you in class is worthless
also you need a passion for this stuff (need to have some previous experience with programming) otherwise you're fucked since the pajeet next door learned this stuff as a kid and will work for less money than you
Should I Start uni again?
my first year was a long struggle until I dropped earlier this year
Teaching myself physics 2 bc prof is a butthole.
I actually really like it; should I try for electrical engineering?
>>36421266
being good at math for CS is a meme. It helps, but I know some guys who are bad at math but really good programmers.
you just need to learn the logic behind it and lots of creativity to make algorithms.
>tfw can't enjoy any hobbies due to guilt over skipping coursework or performing poorly
>>36421336
how many drones, quadcopters, etc do you own? At my uni there seems to be a strong correlation between annoying flying things and success in the EE program.
>>36421336
EE is pure physics and applied calculus. I would recommend you get into an Electromagnetism course before deciding though, that shit seems to be the cut for the EEs on my uni.
Im curious what kind of backpacks does /uni/ carry?
Im really autistic about backpacks. Ive gone through dozens and sold ones that just didn't meet my requirments.

Not the anon you responded to but why was your first year a struggle?
Academically speaking first year of Uni is a struggle for literally everyone, even if they do good.
Now if you have other problems like most robots do (social aspect) thats another whole story.
If the first option is your case then for sure go ahead and try again, you're going to have a much easier time having had the experience before.

Look for the curriculum for the uni you will attend, start studying the language they will teach you, (it's something either C, Python or Java). Then just start fucking learning from youtube and shit.
I wish someone told me these, i failed 2 times at C :/. But i'm kinda retarded, maybe u will do just fine
Why are nigs so fucking loud in the bathrooms?
Literally every time I go in to take a shit there's a nignog taking a shower and always sings as loud as he can.
If he's not in the shower he's taking a shit while singing.
Both occasions they have rap playing.
I honestly in my 4 years of uni have never seen a white person walk into a bathroom with music on, take a shit/shower, sing, talk on the phone etc.

>>36422750
More than the actual difficulty of the courses you need to take it's the extreme differences from easy as fuck highschool to the studying rythm you need to maintain in uni to pass your classes, which are harder and way more dense, condensed in less exams and work.
If you did good in your first year straight out of highschool then more power to you, most people do like shit though. For those people it would be a mistake to just give up after a failed first year or first semester.
How do I pick up girls in the anime club? There's only 3 and 2 of them are autistic as fuck. 1 can barely speak English.

>tfw your only friend in uni constantly uses you
We have similar interests in our area of study, so when we first met I was very thrilled to have someone I could talk with. But slowly he started to do less and less for the assignments we partnered up for, until I basically did it all, while he always came up with some excuse about being busy with other courses. Then he started sending me quick little requests like generating a plot for a specific dataset because he didn't have the right program installed, or sending me slides of lectures he attended and asking me to figure out some detail even if I did not take the course.
He also often trashtalks other people I like working with, or girls I am interested in. He also makes fun of me when I take fewer courses than him, asking what I do with all my free time, and mocks me for not having any goals in my life, when really, my current goal is getting a good degree and a job afterwards, while he revels in this grandiose ideas about his start-up taking off (of course he already asked me if I would like working for him in exchange for shares in the company, so basically for free).
Last semester he participated in an exchange program and sent me his final exercise two days before it was due, pressuring me into doing it for him because he would fail otherwise, and he didn't bother installing MatLab during the semester. Foolishly I agreed, but it was for a course I didn't take so I couldn't figure out all the details and I had other stuff to do, so he only got a C for it and then blamed me. While he was on the exchange program, he subrented his apartment, but now he returned and wants to continue subrenting it, asking if he could sleep at my place so he can put some money aside.
I kinda want to tell him to fuck off, but it also hurts, he is the only friend I have after all, I don't want to be alone again :(
>>36424231
What a fucked up situation. You don't want to feel lonely yet your only friend you have a meaningful relationship with is an incredible toxic one.
I'd say stop doing the shit he asks you to do, he is obviously abusing you. If he stops talking to you because of it then so be it, if he doesn't and the relationship changes for the good then cool.
Idk man this is some battered wife syndrome shit.

>>36423435

>>36425367
I failed because I literally didn't do anything. The stuff I did do I got high 80s low 90s, but other than that I just didn't do assignments and skipped exams. Yes I'm a fucking retard. I was so used to coasting in high school
>>36425367
I guess that makes me an actual retard.
>>36424231
iktf man, my only (former) friend pulled the same shit this year.
used me until he found better people to use and then started belittling me and overall turned into a passive aggressive cunt.
I did so much shit for him but got in deep like when that mongoloid forgot to change my name to his and didn't even bother changing the format of the chemistry report i let him practically copy. He couldn't even bother saying thanks once because his ego is so inflated.
Should have caught on earlier as to why he didn't want me making better friends first year.
Unfortunately for him he ditched me too early and now has to retake a course (my fault of course, he loves throwing blame on others)
Honestly anon, it's better to be alone. As long as you can distract yourself with consumption like books, shows/anime, or shitposting, the feels rarely ever hit.
signing up for fall classes, what are the best classes for robots?
>>36426238
>what are the best classes for robots?
Tip from a uni PRO: Take all of your general ed courses (sciences, electives, etc) online. Most unis offer a lot of basic courses online, usually the advanced search options when you're registering online will have a filter for web-based courses. Watching lectures from your comfy bed and not having to go to class is the true robot way.

>I actually took Japanese classes to broaden my knowledge of languages
Sounds like something weebs say on the first day when asked why they want to learn it
>>36431177
Jap class is generally filled with either weebs that are good at hiding their powerlevel, people with yellow fever or international studies/anthropology majors that actually want to learn about other cultures. Most general/casual weebs get kicked after first semester
t. fourth semester of japanese
If you're having trouble procastrinating, do this:
>buy MAGA hat, wear backwards
>go to uni library
>set up laptop/pick computer facing wall so everyone can see what you're doing
You'll be too self conscious to watch chinese cartoons or do anything other than your work.

how is making a lot of money a meme? Not joking please explain
I'm almost in my third year of uni and I still don't know what I'm doing. How did you unibots decide what you wanted to major in? The money? Passion?
>>36431806
Passion, but my passion isn't where money is so I'm pretty much fucked.

>Passion, but my passion isn't where money is so I'm pretty much fucked.
Same, and I'm too much of a brainlet to go where the money is.

Did I make the wrong choice?
Okay, I need to know: is a 3.1 a bad GPA?

Poli sci major
Haven't really found a passion in anything yet though.
>>36432443
As long as your passing there literally isn't a bad gpa, some people will meme and tell you that it matters for your first job but honestly any sort of work experience will replace the gpa gap in an instant, employers prefer someone who doesn't list their gpa, interviews well and has experience showing up somewhere on time and working their shift over someone with a high gpa and nothing to show for it.

>Poli sci major
>>36432529
That's not true for every job, and especially not if you are trying to go to college
>>36432443
Nah, that's pretty good.
Anything above a 3.0 is good, anything above a 3.5 is great.
>>36432578
The company culture meme is a very real thing if you're a sperg with only high grades, you're less likely to get through than someone with lower grades who manged to hold a walmart job while going to school, reliability and fitting in are valued far more than grades across the board with companies
>>36418556
what if im all that?
>>36432578
>especially not if you are trying to go to college
I assume you mean grad school. I'm in physics at an R1 and had a 3.2 in undergrad. I'm sure anyone below 3.5 would get passed up for the likes of HYPSM (and/or high reputation in the field such as Berkeley for physics) since those schools get the absolute cream of the crop, but otherwise the committees care about GPA much, much less than research experience and actually good letters from your professors.
How are those final grades looking?
