I've had shots at getting a GF here and there, but never really applied myself. Nothing ever came to fruition, so to speak.

Honestly, it's not even something I even consider anymore. It's not that I've given up, but I just don't care anymore. I'm not very attractive, and the women I attract are not attractive to me. Having been somewhat close to a a handful of women throughout the years, I can rationalize my way out of seeking them.

That said, the handful of times when I was real close to a girl was really nice, but not even in a physical sense, just in a way that made me not feel lonely.

That said, having strong relationships with (male[male]) friends is much more important to me. It's easier and there isn't some strange dog and pony show to obfuscate the true intention of the relationship.

If I were able to form platonic relationships with women (maybe I am and haven't found the right one, whereby both parties do not form romantic emotions), I'd be fine with that, but I haven't. The closest I got was a lesbian friend of mine, but she turned out batshit and kept getting arrested for beating up her GF, which was ultimately what led to the end of us hanging out. She was a great drinking partner, made great conversation and I treated her like a true friend.

That said, I'm happy with my 3-5 good friends and my tried and true best friend.

It's just easier.
