>too much of a brainlet for college
>Failed math alot in HS
>can't get stem degree
How do I fix this shit ?
>>36384709
Study. Study. Study.
I failed plenty of classes in college, but it was worth the extra cost. Seeing as I now I make 80k a year (plus some company bonuses quarterly).
>>36384709
>TFW they only let you take the retard science and math in HS
I dropped out of Biology in grade 10 because it was too hard and they knew ever since that I was a brainlet.
practice, watch videos about the topic, find a tutor
>>36384709
practice
do lots of problems. math understanding often comes after proficiency is already there
>>36384987
tutor's for brainlets. OP just needs to keep going back until he fully understands the fundamentals. No using tricks until you're confident on WHY that trick works. then you will understand how to do shit intuitively.
>>36384709
you're an idiot at college math cuz you sucked at HS. Start with the foundations first before you tackle calculus. Foundations like, fractions, exponents, and stuff. Good luck OP. we believe in ya
don't bother. you're never going to apply any of the shit you learned in algebra IRL. only things you need to know is how to add and subtract
>>36385445
also algebraic rules, simplification, and expansion
>>36385445
This. Math is actually really easy. Whenever someone says they have difficulty with math it's because they didn't grasp a basic concept and then it just snowballed from there.
>>36385529
>>36385543
yeah. and they say im smart at math. no you idiot i just paid attention at HS while you're there gossiping about someone
>>36384709
What do you mean by maths?
If you mean low level calculation stuff then the only way to get better is to do lot's of practice
i failed the last math subject i had. it was Calculus III. I swear to God it's mathematician stuff. and im learning engineering. like what the hell is this. It got really worse during finals. You can barely find any number in the problem. Just letters and greek letters. ffs
>>36385543
>>36385569
>group project in calc 2
>have to tutor someone
>they don't even know the order of operations
This is actually ridiculously common and I don't know how people are able to get away with not knowing a pre-algebra concept. It's always an engineering student too
>>36384709
Social Sciences were made for guys like you and me!
Not all social sciences are shit, try to get into the JFK school of goverment if you are american, or the Faculty of Political Science from the Lomonosov State University if you are European, you are almost guaranteed to get a rogue job in the gov where you do nothing and leech from the people
>>36384709
LISTEN UP DUDE I HAVE AN M.S. IN MATH. TO SUCCEED IN MATHEMATICS GET A TEXTBOOK AT THE LOWEST LEVEL THAT IS SLIGHTLY ABOVE YOU AND THEN DO EVERY PROBLEM IN ORDER IN INCREMENTS UNTIL YOU FINISH THE BOOK. THEN CHANGE THE FIELD (ALGEBRA,TOPOLOGY,ANALYSIS ETC.) OR MOVE ONTO A HIGHER TEXT IN THE SAME FIELD. YOU JUST HAVE TO ALWAYS BE DOING PROBLEMS. MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE TO START WOULD BE PROBABILITY THEORY BUT I WOULD START WITH NUMBER THEORY IN YOUR CASE OP SINCE IT'S BEAUTIFUL AND FRIENDLY IN THE BEGINNING.
>>36385641
yeah a lot of people. and i mean a LOT , tries engineering. You can always see them drop like flies at the end of the semester.
>>36384709
It took me a week or two of heavy studying to fully understand calculus 1 (calculus 1 and 2 are required for biology and chemistry degrees). I finally had a moment where everything started to line up and make sense, and after this calculus 2 wasn't difficult.
You have to study hard to get it, but it will happen if you put forth the effort.
>>36385658
why does adding THEORY to a word makes it sound like high level stuff
>>36385641
How the fuck do you make it to Calc 2 without knowing PEMDAS?
I mean you can easily bullshit your way through the homework, but tests are another thing.
>>36385707
"Queer Theory" doesn't sound all that high level.
>>36384709
GOTTA be a jojo reference
>>36385773
I actually got into a semi-heated argument with a guy in my group of "friends" because he always believed he was the smartest person in the school yet he was adamant that math was done left to right.
He went to med school, dropped it, and now in mechanical engineering (of course)
Well you can get good at math by calculating all the profit you'll make from buying bitbean! Bitbean is a great new cryptocurrency currently rising in value.
>>36385822
>left to right
wtf? where did he even get the idea?
>>36385860
I don't know but that's how common core is done, but the argument was like 7 years ago before CC was a thing
>>36385860
If you don't know PEMDAS how else would you solve it? You can post a problem requiring PEMDAS on 4chan and all the brainlets and underageb&s will show up to do the math left to right
