Best solution does not mean cure, many problems cannot be cured. Best solution for transsexuals involves lowering the chance of suicide and increasing quality of life.

A person who hears disruptive voices will have a low quality of life. Encouraging them to listen to those voices and do what they say will almost surely lead to an even worse outcome for the person.

A transsexual who is hardwired to need to be seen as the opposite sex and see themselves as the opposite sex is not hurt by the administering of HRT or the acceptance of their peers. This actually gives them the best chance to have a happy life and not kill themselves. Seeing their body change to be closer to how they want it increases their quality of life. Being accepted by others the way they want to be accepted increases their quality of life. This is the only treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective on a wide scale. No other treatment is known. If a better treatment existed, it would be advocated.
