Maybe I'm dense but I really like the season so far. I enjoy acknowledging the jokes, getting hype at the action sequences, and paying close attention to the little dramatic moments.

This is also for a different audience than the original Samurai Jack. Even though it's still rated TV-14, it's in a much more adult-oriented time block. This is why there is now blood and humans as opposed to robots. If you replace robot parts with guts and oil with blood, it becomes easy to see why Samurai Jack wouldn't have made it onto TV.
I feel like this Samurai Jack is closer to Tartakovsky's original idea for the show.

The new jack is pure Kino.
