Any other Trump supporters here that abandoned him after this Syria strike? I just can't believe it. He went against his promise completely. I don't think I'm ever going to vote in another election.

Quite frankly if people want us involved in foreign affairs we should be able to handle it however the hell we want. If we pulled out completely from the Middle East, the U.N., and every other nation under the sun, would have a cow calling us selfish isolationist assholes. So we can't pull out, but we can't do what we want either. It's fucking stupid. Send money to my country! We don't want no bombs, just your military resources. Chemical weapons are bad. Oops, we used them. Don't bomb us man... The fuck are we suppose to do?

Nah I voted for Sanders twice, once in the primary and then I wrote him in for president. I really just wanted to see Trump get elected so he would splinter the GOP into mutiple levels of insane conspiracy theory nutjobs that can't work together so we can usher in the liberal Utopia

I no longer support him because of the Syrian strikes, but at the same time I don't necessarily regret voting for him because shillary would have done the same shit

I can't continue to support him as a person due to his running the White House like a monarchy and attacking Syria. I'll continue to vote R and vote for him for reelection since he was smart enough to kill TPP on the spot and leave the ACA alone for now.

It's a mixed bag that I'm not happy with at the moment but I still think is far better than what's on the other side of the aisle.
>>

This strike was perfect. The Donald is a genius.

>Proportional strike
>Hit only one of Syria's six air force bases
>Makes humanitarians and neocons shut up without really doing anything
>Perfectly timed attack. Closes the book on his healthcare setback, and gets the US and the world to rally around him.
>>

>>
>>36101556
Bait. Not happy he striked Syria but shillary was an even bigger warhawk.
>>
>>36105400
>Proportional strike
Proportional to the purported chemical gas attacks, without investigating whether or not it was a false flag.

Incongruent, however, with his campaign promises and his constitutional authority.

>Hit only one of Syria's six air force bases
One too many for his base. Five too few for his opponents.

>Makes humanitarians and neocons shut up without really doing anything
Both the Neocons and the Histrionic Humanitarians were unified in:
>>Trump should have started earlier
>>Trump should have done more

>Perfectly timed attack. Closes the book on his healthcare setback, and gets the US and the world to rally around him.

His base is more alienated from him then before, and both the Establishment Left and Right are just as oppositional to him on immigration, border security, health care, and auditing our FTAs.

I voted for the man, but I have to admit a blackpill when I see one.
>>
>>36102169
Bait but the COC took an oath to protect and defend the constitution. Such strikes are constitutionally the purview of Congress.
>>
>>36105780
>incongruent with his campaign promises
everyone is saying this, and it only proves everyone is literally talking out of their ass

you're retarded and have no idea what you're talking about. since announcing his bid for the white house trump has quite literally said that he: supports no-fly zones in Syria, isn't pulling out our armed forces that were already in active combat in Syria, and [didn't] yet know who our enemies/friends were.

the only thing you can point to is him saying that he doesn't want to "get bogged down" in the Middle East. Bombing an empty airfield is not "getting bogged down".

If you thought he was non-interventionist, that's your dumb mistake. Supporting no-fly zones in the middle east is the exact opposite of non-interventionist. It's always going to be used as a pretext for aggression.

there's no one man in the usa that's going to halt the massive profits involved by intervening in the middle east. there's way too many pieces in play here for any individual piece to give a shit about the bigger picture
>>
>>36105868
>everyone is saying this, and it only proves everyone is literally talking out of their ass
>you're retarded and have no idea what you're talking about.
But he did campaign on focusing on ISIS, not on Assad, on terrorists, not on regime change.

>supports no-fly zones in Syria
[Citation needed]
> isn't pulling out our armed forces that were already in active combat in Syria
Which is not the same as strikes against the Assad regime
> and [didn't] yet know who our enemies/friends were.
Yet consistently railed against the non-state actors over the state actors.

>the only thing you can point to is him saying that he doesn't want to "get bogged down" in the Middle East.
And that he further alienated his base.

>Bombing an empty airfield is not "getting bogged down".
Its a another step in more unilateral executive action until he goes full Bush.
>>
>>36101771
if it weren't for those damn misogynistic brocialists...
>>
>>36105982
then you're naive, plain and simple. did all of you seriously think he wasn't going to intervene in the middle east? wtf? literally read the shit he says, nothing about it is non-interventionist..

http://www.ontheissues.org/2016/Donald_Trump_Foreign_Policy.htm

ctrl-f syria

his """"non-interventionist"""" quotes are vague at best. one can easily see that bombing an empty airfield to allegedly send a message that chemical weapons aren't ok isn't getting "bogged down" quite yet

I am deeply disappointed.
Some suggestions have been made that this is just a way of posturing to China and undercutting the RussianPuppet narrative but I am worried that's just wishful thinking to avoid admitting we've been had by another (((neocon))). I mean, look at the Goldman Sachs/Soros/Rothschild influence in his cabinet, his failure to ban the muslims, his halfhearted deportation efforts and his fucking son in law.

Take solace in the fact that he was the best option we had at the time.

>>
>>36106037
To be clear, my biggest problem here is pretending that Trump was clearly going to keep out of the Middle East. Again, if you thought Trump was non-interventionist: that's your problem. If Trump wanted to be non-interventionist he would pull armed forces in active combat out of Syria. He specifically said he wasn't going to do this (citation later in this post). He publicly admitted he's going to continue the dem's Syrian intervention.

As for the no-fly zones citation:
http://www.ontheissues.org/2016/Donald_Trump_Foreign_Policy.htm

>Q:Where you are on the question of a safe zone or a no-fly zone in Syria?
>TRUMP: "I love a safe zone for people."; "I would help them economically."
And then he spent the rest of this question conjuring up some dumb scenario where the Gulf states fund it. It's very apparent that this was never going to happen, just as apparent as the fact that Mexico is never going to pay for our new wall. Funding a no-fly zone for Syrian people IS supporting one, and if he wants one as he says, he's going to have to make one himself. If he was against it, he would say it explicitly. And the ONLY REASON he would ever want a no-fly zone is to use it as a pretext for aggression (just like Hillary did with Libya). Nobody is wasting effort putting these up as humanitarian efforts.

People are pointing to his 2013 tweets over things he was literally saying on the campaign trail. I can't say I saw this coming exactly, obviously, but this should not be surprising at all.
>>
>>36106064
> did all of you seriously think he wasn't going to intervene in the middle east?
No. I expected him to strike Raqqa and continue in Yemen. I expected him to conduct strikes against nonstate actors such as terror cells, various insurgents, and pirates.

>his """"non-interventionist"""" quotes are vague at best.
As are any constructions of him as an interventionist though those same quotes.

>to allegedly send a message that chemical weapons aren't ok
I don't think you see why his core base- from Fash the Nation listeners, to Michael Savage listeners, to Sasha Jonestown listeners, to more Steve Sailer types don't like this:

Using a marrionette metaphor, the idea was that Trump ran as a Populist and can be pushed more to Populism by the New Right Coalition (Spencer Alt-Right, PJW New Right, Paul and Johnson Right-Libertarian defectors, Webb and Sanders Democrat defectors, etc.), and can be articulated as follows:
>Our opponents have strings on the Trump puppet
>Trump has less strings connected to our opponents than other candidates
>We have more strings connected to Trump than we do with other candidates
>We have a greater ability to cut our opponents' strings to Trump than we have cutting our opponents' strings to other candidates
>Our opponents have greater difficulty in cutting our strings to Trump than they have cutting our strings to other candidates

The /ourguy/ meme was always tentatively accepted, but nonetheless accepted at some level given:
>Trump's rhetoric
>Trump's Populist nature
>The Bannons, Millers, Antons etc that surround Trump
>The Establishment of both the Left and Right that vilified Trump

As such, the Coalition thought that Trump would not backpeddle on things that he promised them, or at least they thought he promised them. Syria was one such thing, and a line he crossed. If he crossed on this, it's a sign he may cross on economic, social, and foreign policies elsewhere.
>>
>>36106291
>Safe Zone
>NFZ
One may partially require the other, but they are not synonymous. Safe zones are just the first step in getting people of one ethnic group in one area, able to set up some form of self-determination.

In fact, there was a debate in all the major foreign policy rags over Safe Zones VERSUS No-Fly Zones. They are not the same thing, and did not appeal to the same people.

NFZ=Dogwhistle to Neocons to further US expansion into an area such that it shuts down airspace.

Safe Zone=Dogwhistle to Identitarians.

>2
We furthermore want to send a message to DC that cutting those strings to the base will have consequences.

>>
>>36106294
I should've said, "did you seriously think he wasn't going to intervene in Syria?" Then I'd go on to say, "Why? Do you think what compels moderates doesn't compel republicans?" But none of this matters because this isn't your argument anyways, I just wanted to move the goalpost a bit//

I should also address this other thing next,
>As are any constructions of him as an interventionist though those same quotes.
Anon. Besides the fact that it's much more ridiculous and destructive to vapidly assume that he's going to be non-interventionist than vice versa; keeping armed troops in active combat in Syria is unequivocally interventionist. It's not vague in the slightest. Neither is wanting to fund no-fly zones in Syria. I'm not saying that his particular brand of retaliation was obvious, I'm saying that anyone surprised by this either deeply misread what he was saying, or preferred reading tweets he made years prior rather than what he was actually saying on the campaign trail.

I get why people supported Trump on a naive level. All I'm saying is that, if we're going to take Trump's own words since starting his bid for the White House, it is insane for people to insist that he was non-interventionist. To repeat myself, his non-interventionism was vague at best; and it's much less rational to assume the best. Separate from that, he was very clear about his intention to intervene on some level.

Also I realize you made this beautiful word soup that I skimmed over, but I don't see how it isn't a strawman if you intended it to be any sort of argument. I claim that the actual reasons why his brand of populism worked make no difference to what I'm saying.
>>
>>36101516
I don't care, as long as the wall goes up he's alright in my books. Bomb all the shitskins he wants, it's a retarded move but no president wouldn't have done it.
>>
>slapping some 'based sandnigger' airport about what may be a false flag, in process proving he is willing to lay the hurt down to those that doubted it
>bad
Nice try, shitblue.

Why would I care, if anything he should used bigger missiles. Kike press can suddenly claim to love him now, pissrael might pay the blood price and the annoying bandwagon fuckers that claimed they are on his side jump ship? Win on all accounts.
>>
>>36107865
the wall won't do shit. it will be impossible to put the wall along the entire border, the spics will just go to the closest spot that isn't walled/guarded. it is a huge retarded waste of money. it would be much much more efficient to simply go after the employers who hire illegal immigrants.
