Literature, I'm not a classic novel snob or anything but I like to read. I talked this one 7.5 girl about books, not so much about symbolism and boring shit but more about what certain novels meant to us. She really lit up talking about her favorite (rain of gold). I got her phone number and text her like a week later after I had read the book and wrote a small paragraph on my thoughts. She said she was so impressed that I actually took the time to read it and we lived happily ever after (we dated for a while at least). The end.

And talking about music sounds like it would be great except that every girl I've talked to has knowledge on only one genre of music and doesn't care about anything else. And by "knowledge" I mean they know stuff about the bands they like, they don't know jack shit about music theory.

Anyway, being confident and experienced with music (and a fair share of instruments) has gotten girls to pay attention to me, but they have fuck all input of their own, and if I'm not focusing on their exact genre of music they don't really care. I'm too young and overstimulated to be an expert on anything, but I have a solid grasp on the timeline of western civilization, and the epoch that's least opaque in my head would be Greco-Roman antiquity.

For the past couple of years, I've preferred wasting time on wikipedia over focusing on anything like work -- I haven't gotten around to the study of art itself, but biographies about artists, their philosophies, their approaches to their crafts, and the tumult of their lives have been encouraging to me as a good for nothing daydreamer. Memes propagated in the MBTI threads got me good, and it makes feel better if I associate myself unjustly with the accomplishments of other supposed INFPs. It's nice to imagine what it would be like to have taken up drawing, film-making and playing an instrument, but they're slightly too intimidating at the moment. That said, I believe I'm likely to get over it with time -- the apprehension, that is.

and yeah, anime. I've neglected my backlog for a few years, but I'm really gonna try to appreciate the medium from this year forward, along with manga and VNs.

With reference to music, I've been caught up in this lo-fi hip-hop fad for an indeterminate length of time, and it's a pretty comfortable genre.

In the next few weeks, I think I'm gonna take up gardening as a proper hobby that can be placed on a social resume, and I'll try to make up for the past four months I could have spent getting /fit/ instead of being depressed!
