I don't know my IQ but I'd guess it's somewhere in the 115-120 range. But the reason I thought I was smarter than I am is because I grew up around a lot of idiots. I'm by far the most intelligent person in my immediate family and that really fucked with me from a young age.

Whenever I start to think I am more intelligent than others I just remember that people like Plato, Aristotle, Nietzsche, Descartes, etc. existed and that I am but a brainlet in comparison. Any extra IQ points I have above the average can only be negligible.

"Improvement" is such a nebulous term though. Nobody actually cares how much you improve. All that matters is the end result.

It's too hard and the risk for failure is too high. Meanwhile other people can do it and more with minimal effort. It just comes naturally to them. They start out already better than you and go to impossible heights.

Stuff like "shower more" and "lift weights" is easy. It's tangible, it's measurable. Stuff like "find a hobby" or "become interesting" or "learn social competence"? The real important stuff? It's impossible. You can't make it.

I get paid $an hour to help out an old couple set up their wifi and install chrome etc. I'm currently taking 20+ hours to sort word documents into folders.
