Start practicing your calls to yourself. Write notes on a notepad before you make the call so that the procedure itself doesn't feel so painful and improvised.

Make the call to the establishment, ask for the manager, and just simply introduce yourself, and state that you submitted an application. Be gracious and thank them for their time before hamging up.

It takes practice anon. I'm still the same way about phone calls, but with each one, I promise it gets easier. Check online for job offers being put up, I guarantee they are around.
