Let me explain a few things about 4chan quick, since you're clearly super new.

1. Almost nobody comes to /r/, for reasons which should be obvious. Specifically, you want something, and I'm a lunatic.

2. 4chan is an imageboard. A board has limited space for threads, and each thread has a limited space for posts (a bump limit). Newer threads push off older ones that have become full or are no longer active. This is intended to keep content fresh.

3. Different boards move at different speeds. While a thread on /e/ may easily last for months, and an active thread on /x/ can might last weeks, and a thread on /b/ rarely lasts more than a few hours no matter what.

4. Most boards have an off-site archive. Probably all, but I haven't made sure. The in-site archive only saves things for a week, the other ones may have months or years worth of content, at the discretion of the people who run them.

Try to remember which board you were on (if you don't, it was probably /pol/, which is at plebs).

IMPORTANT LESSON HERE: SAVE THINGS.
