General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the game, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first. Infact, you can do more than one move in a row like the anime, but so can your opponents.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

You are a character with powers in the AC universe. Let's first determine your abilities.

A) Urban Empathy - When in the city you have instinctual control over the environment. (Similar to Poison Ivy's control over plants just with city stuff, very versatile)

B) Fortune Cookie Telling - Whenever you eat at a Chinese restaraunt, as long as you finish the meal the fortune you receive will come true that day.

C) Reality Manipulation (Fiction) - You can bring into the world anything written down in a critically acclaimed fictional tale.

Your ship rolling in heavy seas, you dream of endless skies, the grey expanse, and the writhing things that lurk beneath the clouds and the waves...

You are Commander Reynolr of the Citadel Empire, proud captain of the CAS Brora (PS-4-917), an armed trawler based in the wretched Kraegsk Archipelago. Your presence here is tied to the nature of the storm-ravaged Kraegsk - north of resource-rich islands and a major naval warzone, the floating wrecks of great warships are carried by the currents to smash against the jagged coasts of the Kraegsk. You are to recover Citadel personnel from wrecks, protect salvage ships, and ensure that the enemy Republic and its craven mercenaries does not gain control of the Kraegsk from their own naval base, at the opposite end of the archipelago. Every month, a convoy of cargo ships picks up scrap that cannot be used or embezzled by the forces of the Kraegsk and takes it back to the naval yards of your homeland - loss of these ships is unacceptable.

Before the Citadel-Republic war, the Kraegsk was inhabited by a series of destitute fishing communities living in the shadow of the ruins of the old Astaeran Empire. Now they are forced into the service of the belligerents, powerless to resist the meager forces allocated to the Kraegsk.

You are aboard the Brora, heading north for Scrap Bay. There, you're supposed to board a merchant ship that will take you to the Volcano, a neutral haven where you'll board an airship on a mission with a certain Mr. Bucard.

3rd Thread: Heavy exposition for the Republic, the Citadel Navy, and Reynolr himself.

4th Thread: Revelations about the unsettling amulets popularly worn by Scrap Bay nobility, and a great deal of exposition in general from a untrustworthy and evasive source in Céleste Chapuis.

5th Thread: Strange journeys with Miss Chapuis using the amulet - after dropping off the Republic prisoner with your new acquaintance in Scrap Bay, you set out into the southern Interim Sea on escort duty only to face a remarkably accurate Republic ship in a blinding storm.

6th Thread: Exploring the ruins of the fortress, you encounter a thinking relic of the Old Empire, and after an unsettling encounter, repair the Brora. After, you find your way to... Vryag, was it? You were chasing something, but you can only really remember the red speckling the walls, and a wreck-strewn beach. It seems like another world, but no one else shares your memories.

7th Thread: You explored an island, didn't you? Something about a mission, and cliffs of crystal... a sharp headache dulls this line of thought. You've stopped thinking about it, mostly - the present, your duty, and your crew - those are what's important.

8th Thread: You fight a battle with an uppity civilian, and the cargo you seize entangles you in the mission of Mr. Bucard, who seeks an ancient spire north of the Kraegsk.

The Brora sails to Scrap Bay without incident, save a storm that tosses the ship around the seas off Sbvysek. You concentrate on your duties, trying to blot out the images of rolling clouds and writhing forms in the haze, curling towards your island in the clouds...

You shake your head, cursing. Master Evans looks at you with a hint of concern, but turns back to his work without a question. He's guiding the Brora to anchor in Scrap Bay - it's morning, but a thick blanket of fog is smothering the whole area. Evans knows the area best, giving him the wheel and you plenty of time to mull over your mission.

You're to head to the civilian wharfs tomorrow, and board a certain ship with the strange Astaeran suits, heading for the Volcano to meet Mr. Bucard and board his airship. You've got a day, more or less - enough time to decide who's accompanying you on his journey, if any. Mr. Bucard wants only one or two companions, however...

>Rest. Your body is rested from the trip up to the Bay, but your mind is unsettled... perhaps some time to yourself, on land, will help.
>Visit a certain Céleste Chapuis at her residence. You did promise to, after all - and she surely has some helpful knowledge on your mission. Of course, she'll demand to go, to explore the ruins she so loves...
>Find the two scientists. One or both could accompany you, giving knowledge on the ancient technology and architecture - sort of like Céleste. Of course, it really may not be a good idea to let mysterious Citadel researchers learn of your contacts with treasure-seekers, and Mr. Bucard will surely resent their presence.
>Ask the crew for volunteers - who's interested, and what might they contribute to this mission?
>Something else?

Lee rummages through the large box on the floor as he arranges various figures on the table, each figure uniquely painted and assembled with care as they face across from the crudely and haphazardly assembled force on the other side of the table of odd, somewhat humanoid figures wielding a mixture of plastic weapons and scavenged trash molded into a somewhat facsimile equipment. Several are adorned in candy wrappers or have arms taken from tossed out children s toys glued into place. One has a car antenna ornament for a head, smiling blankly with sets of cut up plastic jabbed into it to form a set of tusks. The taidaren triplets toss the figures about the table with no real care as they make their selections.

“I'm surprised you didn't sell this one when they said I was dead.” Lee says as he hefts out an almost football sized chunk of plastic molded into a mass of teeth and claws towering over the other miniatures.

“We tried.” the triplets reply “Hard to sell, to expensive.”

“Oh.” Lee says. “Well, glad to hear you missed me enough to pick my apartment clean.” He orients the large figure as the table forms various hills from a mixture of haptic hologram projections and a layer of reflexive tissues forming into a valley with a mixture of debris scattered about the area, with a crumbling road connecting the two armies.

“Alright. Sushi, you roll for the initiative.” Lee says, and hands him a small die. He sucks it into an air jet, puffing his body as the jet tenses before spitting it on the table.

"Lee gets first deployment." The ceph says blandly. The triplets make a collective sigh of squeaking exhalation, their tongues clicking in and out in frustration as they watch Lee place the large roughly insectoid figure firmly on the table with an audible thud, and its base sinks into the flesh terrain to secure it in place.

The Lord General looks at your titan as steam billows from its breathing holes like fumes from a great machine, its neck spewing visible heat as the vents for its forward weapon flair bright red. It steps forward, crushing the road beneath its great clawed feet as it begins its march. The air fills with swarms of wasps and warriors clamor over its carapace, nesting in the ridges of its armor waiting for the time to strike.

Pardon me for not posting yesterday, I was preoccupied.

You pull out your trusty Mosin, only to find out it's empty. You reach back for a stripper clip, work the bolt and position yourself to fire.

Boom!

The shot shattered the furry's crotch into thousands of gibs. You never thought you'd see the day a beautiful ball-shot such as that happen by accident. But enough admiring your work, you've got hunting to do!

The other decided to stay back, learning how to aim his PPSh-41. You hastily work the bolt, trying to get another shot in.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LPoTipyp1E0

His SMG tore away at your leg, making better progress than the others you've met thus far. But that doesn't mean you're dead yet! You fell back, adjusting the aim...

Boom!

The surplus ammunition never lets you down. It pierced the enemy's chest mercilessly, digging in until it burst through the back. So far, the base is purged of all intruders.

Lying on the ground, you saw that the first one had a detachable bayonet, while the other had spare ammo for Ol' Papa Sha. You drag yourself over there, picking up and inspecting the gear closer. The PPSH-41 (Papa Sha) is in relatively good condition, the bayonet is rusted with (hopefully) furry blood. You look around even more, feeling like something was missing.

"Medic, can you get over to the border right now? Kevin's downed and in need of prosthetics." Drake calls.

"He's a good soldier, knows we need to save painkillers for the civvies." You think to yourself, blacking out slowly from the pain. This is the first time you've lost a limb...

When you awaken, you see that you're in a white room, with Ira resting her head on your bed (she's not sleeping with you). That's when it hits you.

"Shit! We've lest her!" You yell, waking the medic from her peaceful nap.

"Ah-huh-wuh? Er... Reporting for duty!" She panics, saluting to nobody in particular.

You try to get up, but the pain has paralyzed you. Ira is too busy being confused to spout useful info, but you might have time. Should you:

You run through the halls, barely decent in a pair of teddy bear pajamas and a Batbabe tshirt.

You are late! With a meeting with one of the Proprietor Senpais! You can get in trouble and if they don't like you you'll get fired.

And you already started and you think a cute nurse wants to murder you. And if she does that off camera you'll likely stay dead.

That's bad.

You through open the door to the staff members office, a small stained glass window overlooking the ring from above.

The proprietor of the establishment, Jimmy Damn stares at you from his desk, frowning at you.

"You've made quite a mess of my bookings." He states.

You

You sit in your office, overlooking the street and park while you sip a beer while your smoldering cigarette lets curls of fading smoke float off into the vents above you.

You feel your phone buzz. You set the chilled bottle down and take a look, Cheryl, your ex-wife. You set the buzzing phone down and let her leave a voice mail this is one of the few times you can sit back and enjoy life. You sip the beer again closing your eyes and leaning back in your chair until you hear the desk phone ring. Shit. Must be work, another scumbag or lowlife needs help getting out of a bind they put themselves in. But that's the work you're best at, you help people, for a price.

You pick up the phone and pull out your notebook, the voice on the other end of the line is.

This isn't working.

Your eyes have had time to adjust to Natalia's office. Despite the harsh shadows cast by the light of her computer screen, you can see that Natalia's jaw is tensed. Her hands are pressed firmly against the surface of her desk, her eyes boring into you with promises of awful things in your future.

You pissed her off, you realize. At least you can take pride in wiping that smirk from her face - but now Natalia looks ready to fight tooth and nail.

You need to change things up, but, "Like I said earlier," You say. "I'm willin' to do what I can to smooth that little infraction over. It was made in the heat of the moment, it won't happen again."

"Then, Ms. Bellman -"

"Of course," You interrupt.

"Are y- if you would stop being rude and-"

"It should be obvious that-"

"-allow me to finish-"

"-I was reacting-"

"-we can come to an-"

"-to an unprovoked act of-

"-agreement!"

"-aggression!"

Natalia pauses, and you take that moment to press the attack. "Push all you want, Mrs. Bookchild. If you wanna fight, I'm certainly willin', but you and I both know you've got nothin' that can stick."

Natalia's heated voice shifts, growing cold. "You seem hellbent on making me your enemy. As a piece of friendly advise, I can inform you that that is a poor decision."

"Well, I certainly don't want that, Natalia." You hook your thumbs into your pockets. "It's obvious to me that we aren't coming to an agreement, and since we're exchanging pieces of friendly advice and all,"

"Being coy will not help you here." Natalia interjects.

"Not being coy ma'am, just doin' what my dad taught me. He used to say that sometimes people get frustrated and say things they don't mean, right?"

"Your point?"

"Well, I certainly didn't mean what I said about your corrupt and shady fucker of a security guard," You smirk a little as Natalia pushes herself up from her desk. You continue before she can say anything. "And I hope you certainly didn't mean to try and blackmail a new student."

"I've had enough of your insolence," Natalia reaches for the phone on her desk. "You've tested my patience, and-"

You tense at that. "I hope you're not pushin' this into legal action, Mrs. Bookchild. You know how the news is, they'd eat up a shady guard actin' all violent towards a little ol' girl like me."

Natalia whips her head up towards you, hand on the phone.

"Can you think of the headlines, Mrs. Bookchild? I certainly can." You smile. "And I don't think that type of attention is one you want."

"Do you seriously think bad publicity will change anything?" Natalia says.

"Do you want to be takin' that risk? I mean," You shrug. "Like I was sayin' sometimes people say things they don't mean, and the second part of what my dad always said is that then they take some time to walk away. Y'know, cool off from bein' frustrated."

"Get to your point." Natalia glares at you.

"Well certainly, Mrs. Bookchild. All I meant to say was, hey, maybe we've caught each other on a bad day. I walk away now, we both calm down, then we come back later to apologize about all those awful things we said when we were mad." You give her a winning grin. "All those thing we said and didn't mean, of course. No need to be makin' a mountain out of an anthill."

"'Sides, that's your son out there, right? Nathan?" You see Natalia freeze momentarily. Perfect. "Well, I was thinkin' of walkin' out of here and havin' him walk me to my dorm. I'm certain he'll be nice and help me out, get my phone all set up and everything. I'm walkin' out now anyway, so either let me or don't."

You do an about turn on your heel and start walking back towards the door.

"Ms. Bellman-"

"'Course," You rest a hand on the doorknob. "I'll keep this misunderstanding between us if we're finished."

You pause. The silence between the two of you weighs on you - you realized your heart is hammering in your chest.

Finally, Natalia says, "You will receive an email from me later this afternoon. Do not think that your little ploy will go unforgotten."

You look over your shoulder to meet her gaze. "Pleasure doin' business with ya, ma'am." With that, you slip through the door.

As the end of the hallway, Jane stands holding the door to the lounge close to her. She jumps a little as you close the door behind you, giving you a weak smile. "Oh, Nate," She steps forward to open the door the rest of the way. "River is finished. Would you like to go in?"

"Actually," You say as you breeze past the nervous guard. "Nate, I think I'd like to take you up on your offer to show me to my dorm." Your feeling of elation halts when you see Nathan's face light up.

Oh fuck.

"Yeah, absolutely." Nathan pushes himself up onto his crutches with surprising ease. You notice he already has your duffelbag hanging on his back over his shoulders. "Alright, let's go River."

Oh goddammit. This is going to be awkward.

--------------------

> [Cont.]

The two of you are walking through Glennwood's campus in silence after telling him your dorm hall's name. Nathan had been entirely understanding when you opted to not talk about what happened in Natalia's office - "Yeah, she can be intimidating sometimes, but she's actually really nice when you get to know her." - and you spent the walk collecting your thoughts.

You count that as a win, the argument with Natalia. You're not sure if it was a smart decision - fuck, you can't take a step out of line now.

Fuck, you promised your dad that you would let yourself have some fun at college. This seems to be the exact opposite of being able to have fun. Well, whatever, you're here to do classes anyway. No parties for you, no trouble, and boys always lead to trouble.

You glance over at Nathan, easily keeping pace with you on his crutches.

Fuck, can you really afford to maybe make friends with Natalia's son? He seems nice, at least.

God, why did college have to be so complicated?

"Alright," Nate points his head to a building to his left. It is one of the older brick buildings. "Here ya are, Hallow Hall."

You stand by politely as he carefully lifts your duffel bag up and over him before resting it on the ground. He then pulls out his phone and you hear a 'ding' and the sound of an electronic lock unlocking. "Here, push the door before it locks on you." You stick your foot in the door, opening it a crack.

"Perfect!" Nate nods to himself. "So, hope you like your time here at Glennwood, River." He give you a smile. "Hopefully I'll see ya around." He turns and begins walking away.

Hello again fellow creators of /qst/. After a well deserved pause, I'm here again to continue our journey into the Regional Evolution of our Moon Worlds. This thread we will be visiting the Ocean Habitats of Janus.

As GM, I'll do my best to actively work on phylogeny charts to track the evolutions, and also make random events for the world to drive evolution down new paths. Since this is the first time I've done EvoGames focused in a Regional perspective I'll be experimenting with how I approach these threads for better viability later on. Also we will visit the Ocean Habitats of Rienia next thread to explore life's evolution there.

How to play:
• Open an image of a species in MS Paint, or your editor of choice
• Make one evolutionary change to that species
• Save as .PNG!
• Post your new species in the thread with a description of what evolution you've added and why.
• Details indicating what the generation of your species is important. Please indicate. (Base Organisms are Generation 0)
• Details regarding a creatures size or name are encouraged, but not required.
• Nothing too outlandish. Anything silly or derailing will not be considered a canon species 95% of the time.

Notes:
• Unless stated explicitly, no species ever goes extinct. Old species can still evolve, even if they're not on the latest "chain"
• Try to make your evolutions gradual and realistic in biological standards.
• Everyday I'll add an update Phylogeny Chart to track changes. These take awhile, so please be patient.
• Expect a Random World Event at least once per thread to shake up the world and game.
• There will be no Mass Extinction Event in the near future, so enjoy building and evolving to your hearts content.
• When this thread reaches its endpoint, we will be switching back over to Moon World Rienia next thread.
• Have fun

New to the Game?:
• Don't be shy. If you have an idea for an organism and want to spend the time making it, please by all means do so.
• We also have a Discord to keep you up to date on EvoGame activities, and chat with other folks and myself. https://discord.gg/kk8eJgJ
• Work on an Imgur Gallery to track evolution and provide up-to-date info on each world is still on-going. It will be posted soon. (TBD)
• There is a Blank Template that you can use to make any organisms you wish to make for this game below.
• Just a note, while it doesn't matter how intertwined your organism is with the rest of ecosystem, the more dependent it is on the existence of other creatures, the more potential your organism has to survive.

The Description of the present Janus, Setting, and, and more will be posted in supplementary posts.

Present Setting: As Janus enters the Late Magedivatian Era, another tectonic shift expands and molds the ocean's currents. This shift of the Janus' landmasses adjusts the global thermohaline circulation of the worlds oceans, bringing with it warm waters currents that reach far beyond its tropics. With the oceans now being interconnected by a global current, marine life throughout this era is able to easily migrate and take hold in many of the niches of marine habitats that have for so long remained relatively depleted in biodiversity. Familiar habitats, such as the shallow seas and gulfs, the open oceans, and the abyssal depths; in addition to emerging environments like the Glacial covered seas of the poles, and the silicates-rich lagoons of the Aftolls, life has plenty of room in Janus's oceans to flourish and diversify in ways only you could imagine.

Blank Template will be on the last post I make. Attached here is Dossier for all the Marine Organisms of Janus. Should tell you everything you need to know about each organism.

--Organism Advancement--
> Marine Organisms are allowed to freely migrate between each of the identified habitats.
> Organisms that can be found in all habitats are not discouraged, but are not too realistic in current biological standards. Feel free to make you case and prove me wrong though.
> Plant Organisms may now be as large as the size 18 increment as stated below.
> Animal Organisms may now be as large as the size 14 increment as stated below.
> Silicates, Calcium, and rich quantities of Iron, Copper, Silver, Zinc, and other metals are present in the environment and may be incorporated into an organisms diet/evolutions if desired.

--Marine Evolution Rules--
> If necessary, specify which landmass/geographic area an organism exists in. (This is heavily encouraged, but not a requirement).
> An evolution that impacts the same organism throughout the whole region is allowed, but must be specified in your post.
> Organisms from the Shallow Seas/Shimmering Aftolls are the only organisms that can potentially live in brackish waters or be euryhaline.
> Oragnisms from the Open Oceans/Pelagic Floor are the only organisms that can grow to the size 22 increment.
> Organisms from the Benthic Abyss/Deep Seafloor are the only organisms that can tolerate extreme temperatures/lifestyles
> Organisms from the Polar Seas are the only organisms that can be amphibious organisms.
> If you as a creator wish to establish the existence of a new ecosystem, feel free to specify this and post what organisms would belong in this new ecosystem.

--Additional/Misc. Stuff--
> The following geographic locations still need names. Feel free to give them a name at your leisure.
- Region 3
- Sea 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5
- Gulf 2, 4, 5 & 6
- Isles 4
- Island 5 & 6
- Archipelago 5 & 6
- Lakes 2
> This is a one-man job I've been doing here for the most part. If you think and/or want to provide me with resources to help improve the quality of information we have for the worlds (Food Webs, Trophic Levels, Mapping of individual Landmasses, Etc.) this would be welcomed and greatly appreciated.
> Fanart is also accepted, and low-key encouraged.
>>
And last but not least. Here is the Blank Organisms Template. That's it I'm finished spamming the opening thread.

Enjoy the thread fellow creators, and I'll have the first Phylogeny Chart up in a couple days.

Good Morning, Afternoon, and Evening to Anons all over the globe. (Yes, even in Europe)

You are Xavier Lewis, Doctor turned survivor after the apocalypse. You narrowly escaped Chicago and came to a small Illinois town by the name of Stronghurst which seems to be the last bastion of humanity in this stricken world.

Along the way, you met many interesting characters, including a zealot self proclaimed prophet which you promptly killed, and a power hungry dictator ex-general who you instilled to lead the town. Under his firm leadership, the surrounding fields are being replanted, protection is getting put up, and the world around us is getting explored.

The last time we saw Xavier, he was heading to Davenport to see if the military there is still functional, or even alive, or not. You had stopped at a rest stop where you had awoken a horde of infected, crashed your car into the small group of infected, almost gotten trapped, and then flung 20 yards from the explosion of the truck you had crashed. The last thing you saw before blacking out was someone pulling you towards your parked trucks.

It seems to be early morning when you awake, and you are in your bed in Stronghurst. You would have had to be asleep for at least an entire day, because your “accident” was around 1 P.M., or at least you hope it was just one day, because getting out of a coma does really fucking suck.

You take a look around your room and see it a little more cluttered than usual, with an IV stand and an IV sending fluids into your body, as well as a small stack of gauze, and some other medical devices you can’t really make out in the low light of the morning. After taking a look around your room, you try to get a good look at your body.

You have bandages wrapped around your abdomen, your legs, and your arms. You are sure you have a concussion, but other than that, the bleeding looks to be minimal, with just a few red spots on your bandages. The most pressing issue is the fucking soreness all over your body, as when you tried to sit up in bed, you nearly passed out. It seems like you’re going to be here for a while.

You fall asleep a few minutes later and wake up to see a man bringing a plate of food in, followed by the General, and one of the soldiers you think you remembered seeing at the Rest Stop.

“Ah, so he is finally awake then. Good, because you and I have a lot to talk about, and a lot of things are going to change very quickly. First of all though, I don’t know if you’re the luckiest fucking idiot on Earth, or one of the most efficient operators I’ve ever had, but good job, you completed your task without even seeing Davenport.” General Tristus finishes, as he pulls up two chairs. One for himself, and one for the mysterious soldier.
>>
>>1582292
“You don’t have to talk right now, just listen to me. The men you had found at that Rest Stop were scouts sent by Colonel Ackerson, the commander of Arsenal island, which was our mission to see what happened to it. This man, Sergeant James O'Reilly has been telling me about what happened in the aftermath. I’ll give you a quick rundown so you can go back to resting.your precious head. The US military selected Arsenal Island as a “Place of great strategic importance” and sent them great amounts of preserved food, ammunition, weapons, soldiers, and equipment, but had them evacuate almost all civilians, and had them blow the bridges connecting the islands. Well, Ackerson had done everything ordered of him, except he had kept one bridge intact, a bridge that can be moved away from the mainland, so he had the bridge pulled back into the island, and for a week he has watched the city around him fall into shit, and then watched as the dead rose and killed any living thing in it's vicinity. After a week, he had sent out a small scouting party to see what existing chain of command was left. One thing led to another and now he’s here, and I have a lot of work to do. I think that hot German doctor said something like a week before you should be almost back to normal. Anyway, Good Job Doctor, and come see me when you can move around.” The General finishes, as he gets up and leaves the room, followed by Sergeant O'Reilly.

You eat your breakfast in relative silence as you listen to the sounds of the small town waking up. An occasional truck here and there, people talking and walking to their jobs, and the laugh of children as they run past your house. You left right as they were setting up the fencing for protection of the town, and you wonder if that’s done by now. While the general said that you should get your bed rest, you were never the one to stay sedentary

>Get up and about, see what everyone is doing around town (1/7 chance to succeed).
>Stay rested. You can get plenty of things done while staying in place

You are a rather capable pilot, hired by the Eaglewatch PMC for your services. The company seems trustworthy, but perhaps it's all a sham.

Pastebin: https://pastebin.com/tT1S2beh

First things first wins.

As you walk out of the bunker, the brightness of the sun makes you shield your eyes. Maybe a stop by Eddy and grabbing a set of glasses wouldn't be such a bad idea. As you stride across the base, you notice the crews and staff all going to their positions; the entire base waking up with an impressive pace. You walk past the corrugated hangars, then making your way past the first few concrete and tarp ones. The memory of Bodhi buying you a paint job comes to mind, a smile forming as excitement builds.

You turn the corner, taking in your jet all in once. The rising sun perfectly showcases the plane to you, the fresh paint job reflecting in all the right ways. The design is immaculate, showcasing a burly tiger, seething with rage. A pair of pegasus wings sprout from his back in full swoop, with intricate sets of daggers held in his fore paws. Perhaps Eddy should have gone to art school. Smiling, you collapse the ladder from its compartment, clambering up to the cockpit. You open the canopy, taking in your view from the seat for a brief moment before resting your helmet on the seat. Taking a second to watch a F-14A take off, you close the canopy, and hop off the ladder. Several stacks of crates take your attention. Closer inspection, mainly on the printout on the wooden sides, reveals them to be the ammunition you ordered the night before. You stride to the front of your hanger, and stretch your back out, before a dark drab green takes your attention. A quick few steps reveal it to be a McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II, known as 'The Flying Brick' to some. Going off of the order of the planes in the hangars, it seems as if this one's crew arrived sometime during your sleep last night.

Noting the new crew members in your mind, you head down to the mess hall, and immediately grab some breakfast. As soldiers of fortune, it seems, the company can spend more on food. At least, the scrambled eggs and french toast seem to think so. You take the plate and fork and sit next to Bodhi, who's currently conversing with two people sitting across the table. One is definitely older than the other, and they share some definite resemblance. Though, it could just be their matching flightsuits.

"Hey, Ranny boy, the man I was lookin' for. These guys are John and Junior, they fly tandem, and they got on base a few hours after you did. What did you say you flew again?"

John chuckles, resting his elbows on the table.

"Nothin' but ol' Brick herself, an F-4E. My son Junior works as my RIO."

Well, that's certainly new.

>"Wait, you have your son flying with you?"
>"I saw your jet. Very nice, I must say."
>"Well, how experienced are you two?"

MIRANDA

“Well,” and you fix her with a steady eye. “We need to know everything. Your encounters with the phantom, top to bottom. Leave NOTHING out.” You lean back, still never breaking eye contact. “Start from the first time to the most recent. Include everything you’ve done immediately before and after. Alright?”

She nods, a bit primly. “Alright, then. The first one, well...I have to admit I wasn’t thinking it was a threat- honestly I just thought Me-Gan was pulling one of her infantile pranks. You know, some sort of thing mocking me and the fact that I like to be professional. So I thought ‘well, I won’t let it get to me,’ and sang back.”

Hm. Alright. Decent start.“Give me details. What was the first interaction LIKE?”

“I was just messing around, really. I saw someone moving at the little wooded area - you’re well aware of the area around the cloister’s stage.” Purps rolls her eyes, behind the diva’s back. “I carried on with the 3rd number of Alaran’s Call; and then he started singing something from ‘The Opera.’”

“And what was that?” you ask further.

“The Angel of Music.” She says, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

“And you just sang with him?” Purps presses.

“Yes; he retreated after the number; everyone else arrived shortly after- which is when I believed that one of my may admirers had managed to sneak into the cloister.” She explains, shaking her bed hair back and forth as if she was overacting; “Well, that, and smitten with me - he desired to sing.”

“I don’t know whether your optimism is charming, or your arrogance is stunning.” Purps says rubbing her hair.

“HEY!” Alice shouts, fingers sprouting little tiny flames.

Oy. “Enough.” They both immediately stop as you keep your eyes on her.
“Moving on. Tell us about Billie’s incident.”

“Very similar. Just different songs. I wasn’t sure what was going on this time, so I responded more out of curiosity than anything else. Billie was just confused entirely. When the duet proper started, though, she tried to run, and… well, he must have not liked that.” She looks crestfallen, at least. “A noose seemed to sprout from his palm- and it caught Billie by the neck as she tried to escape.” Both Purps and Switchwick look away, “She didn’t last very long at least.” Alice looks down as she finishes somberly.

Hm...“And I take it the last time was similar to those two, as well?” She nods. “Anything different about it?”

“Well, we were performing... then something made us change our singing. Then it was similar to how you feel when you faint- except...” She pauses; you get the sense that it’s more due to trying to vocalize her thoughts, rather than withholding anything. “When I was slipping away, my magical sense was lighting up like a beacon. Professor always says we’re like large magic batteries; my last memory was noting that it felt like someone was burning themselves out, or going beyond their ability.”

That’s very attentive. “So, some kind of drain, maybe…”

She shakes her head. “It felt like the opposite, because unless she-”

Alice stops, realizing she may have said too much.

You control a simple ball-shaped organism that hasn't started evolving, and your goal in this quest is to help it survive!
You only roll when fighting or trying to avoid it (D5), however I roll a D5 in my every post, and five means that you can evolve a single position from a list I will post.
Usually I wait for 20-30 minutes before I reply, but time might vary depending on how busy I am.
With that being said, let's begin!

You find yourself in a middle of big, sandy area. On your left there are some trees, on your right a big lake and both behind and in front of you there is a big desert.

You decide to explore desert, so you roll throught the sand.
You haven't found anything for about 30 minutes, but suddenly you see a few holes in the ground!
When you get near them you can hear the sound of water running inside them...
