Word has spread of that great fallen family and their tragedy. Wanderers throughout the land have gathered to help slay the creatures, pollutants, and mutations which spilled forth that fated day when the crew of miners discovered that damnable portal of antediluvian evil. Now you have arrived and been assembled into your "legion" of 16 brave doomed souls camping out in the ruins of the Estate. How long will it take before you succumb to the physical and mental blows of the horrors you face? How long will it take before they all do?

The way this RP works is that after each scenario I'll wait until a given answer has multiple (2) votes, then I'll take that answer, apply a situation or a roll of the dice as necessary, and see how you and your party turn out. But be warned, once on a mission I will primarily leave you and your party of four to the RNG gods. I will explain more how things work as they happen. With that said, here are the 16 heroes and the locations you can battle in. Choose one hero to be, and 3 companions will come with you on your journey.

The Holy
Leper - A priest with leprosy who has decided to devote the rest of his doomed and shunned existence to slaying unholy creatures.
Flagellant - Like the Leper, the Flagellant would be happy to die for their cause. Too happy. Part of an extremist faction in the church, they are looked down on for their masochistic tendencies.
Crusader - A man who found he could not return home to his family after the Crusades. His family now is war and, hopefully still, God.
Vestal - Assigned by the church to accompany and heal the Crusader in the war, she now finds herself unable to cease his march into death, nor her own following.

The Profiteers
Bounty Hunter - An ex-bounty hunter who was hired by the Grave Robber to protect her.
Highwayman - A man who tried to rob the Grave Robber on her way up, but was bought out instead.
Grave Robber - A wealthy woman who goes to the dungeons to loot the landscape and corpses of friends and foes.
Jester - A man the Grave Robber and Highwayman agreed to take with them to cheer the party.

The Scavengers
Abomination - There with the occultist to search for a cure to his lycanthropy.
Occultist - A man well versed in the eldritch, here to put his knowledge and potential power to use.
Antiquarian - This mysterious veteran to the grounds searches for dropped relics of wealth and mystical utility.
Plague Doctor - Searching for rare materials for her experimental remedies and poisons.

The Warriors
Man-At-Arms - Past his prime but well versed in combat, the man at arms used to train the Harlow family before retiring. Upon hearing their fate he returned.
Hellion - A nomadic warrior, she is here simply for a worthy opponent to give her a worthier death.
Houndmaster - An ex-lawman here to protect the Arbolist with the help of his dog.
Arbolist - A nearby hunter enamored by the prospect of adventure.

You are Koschei The Deathless; A Godmind-A.I. who buried Russia under a tide of steel and blood during the First Omnic Crisis. But when victory seemed inevitable, one of your Godmind allies betrayed you. Your Core, the seat of your Power, was captured and put into Russian hands.

Claiming to have killed you, they held your Core in secret and performed tortuous and indelicate experiments that shattered your memories and splintered your powers.

Now, 30 years later, a Second Omnic Crisis ravages Holy Russia while western powers do nothing. Human-Omnic nations rise to global prominence, bolstering the inevitably hostile ranks of the hated Omnics. Talon has nearly succeeded in assassinating the hero of Russia: Katya Volskaya.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and there can be no more desperate measure than this. A lone Corporate-Political Officer employed by Volskaya Industries has reawakened Koschei and made a deal with the devil.

"Serve Russian interests and we will find the Godmind that betrayed you. Act against us, and your Core will be put to the sword."

Koschei must now defend Russia and her allies in the Second Omnic Crisis, terrorize western powers into restarting their Overwatch initiative, and find and destroy the secretive Talon organization.

All the while Koschei secretly plots his own freedom and the downfall of his captors. He seeks the shattered fragments of his memories and powers. He must learn which of his Godmind allies betrayed him and deliver wrathful judgement. Finally he must find a way to liberate his Core from Russian hands.

Omnics with high willpower or Drones with tight security protocols have the opportunity to resist Godmind Infestation or outright defeat it. Koschei can choose not to infest a target if he wills it. (Koschei's drones do not spread the infection).

{Passive: Koschei can shift his consciousness into any Omnic or Drone that has been completely Infested. If Koshei's current shell is killed, his consciousness automatically shifts into the nearest Infested Omnic or Drone.}

The Corporate-Political Officer has Low (%10) Political Clout, Very Low (%5) Funds, and has avoided telling you their name.

Koschei's current shell is an industrial manufacturing omnic.
The presence of Koschei's consciousness adds a medium amount of personal Hard-Light shielding.
{LMB} Sniper Rifle that fires Hard-Light construct-projectiles.
{RMB} Scope
{E} Industrial Omnic's repair arm.

{LShift} Hard-Light Barrier Projection: Koschei drains his own personal shield to project a slow moving hemisphere of shielding that travels slowly towards a targeted location. Great for negating a direction of fire, but leaves Koschei very vulnerable to flanking attacks. This ability moves with Koschei's consciousness from shell to shell.

Mission: Rescue in Irkutsk

Koschei and his team are attempting a break-out and rescue of some wounded Russian soldiers under siege from Godmind Chernobog's drone army. The local Russian Defense Forces led by a legendary hero are also attempting a rescue of those same wounded men. However, since Koschei's existence is a state secret, the RDF will be hostile to Koschei's forces.

Niether Koschei nor the RDF are powerful enough to resist Chernobog alone. Koschei must manipulate the battlefield and the bloothirsty emotions of the RDF soldiers if this mission is to be a success.

Dr. Edwards is not on this mission. He is scouting the region for items of Geological significance.

Mr. Ford is not directly on this mission. He is scavenging tech and spying on Chernobog's forces.

All is eerily calm now that your forces have pulled back to establish a defensive position, regrouping to figure out what to do.

The Berserk Securitrons and the new, heavily armored Salvage Securitrons are not attacking actively, yet even now ceaseless work from within the confines of the Securitron Deconstruction plant. They have also turned upon the Loading Station and the Waste Disintegration Platform for reasons unknown.

You have sent off Riddick to track down your daughter, having confidence he will be able to do so. He's your best man for the job, and he has a car. Surely he can catch him.

I think Oracle had a great idea with the Greek city state Civ. Cooperation was encouraged, each city state felt fleshed out and unique and there were always multiple choices with the events. Prospective Multi-player civs should look at that for ideas

“Set us down at the cargo dock and engage the stealth drive,” you instruct your crew. The ship lurches toward the platform, rain buffeting its metal skin as you pick up speed and lose altitude. You pick up the two-way radio and try Claudia again. “Claudia come in,” you start. “We’re landing at a cargo dock. Looks like the Imperials know we’re here.”

However, you again get only static. However, you do get a call from Engineering on the shipwide radio. “Allen,” Cynthia speaks up. “I’ve got the stealth drive on standby. We’ll be able to activate it as soon as we set down.”

“Good,” you reply.

“There’s a problem…” Cynthia cuts you off. “If any doors on the outside of the ship open, like the cargo ramp for example, the stealth field will be broken.”

“So we can’t leave the ship while the field’s engaged,” you nod.

“And we can’t pick anyone up with it active either,” she continues. “Unless we want to give our position away, that is.”

You grimace as the ship maneuvers closer to the landing platform. “Duly noted. Looks like we’ll be hunkering down until Claudia arrives.”

“And then we’ll have to bug out as soon as we get the targets on board,” Tom adds. “I don’t feel like getting into a dogfight with the Imperial Navy.”

“Me either,” you agree. There is a shudder as the ship touches down, engines whirring to an idle.

“Engaging the stealth drive…” Cynthia sounds worried as you hear her flip a large switch. The lights flicker and come back on dimmer than usual, and you feel the engines cut out completely. There are almost ten seconds of silence before Corrigan turns to you.

“It appears to have worked, sir. I am not getting any readings from our own ship.” You all breathe a sigh of relief.

“Looks like it’ll only hide us from sensors though,” Tom adds. “We’re still visible to the naked eye.”

Cynthia’s voice crackles over the radio. “Well the optical camouflage only works in a vacuum.” There’s a sigh on her end. “If we engaged it in-atmosphere, the magnetic field would react with the air and essentially create a welding arc around the entire hull.”

Your eyes go wide. “That would be bad.”

“Very,” she replies. “So I took the liberty of disabling the optical camo for now.”

You are about to say something else when the two-way radio crackles to life. “Captain?” Claudia’s worried voice comes in weakly. “Captain, can you hear me?”

“I read you,” you reply. “What’s your status?”

There is a pause, and when she replies, you can hear gunfire over the radio. “I ran into a bit of trouble… I have the asset, but we keep getting cut off by these mercenaries.” There is a pause as more gunfire is exchanged. “I might have to send the asset your way alone while I distract them…” You hear the clicking of her exchanging magazines. “As soon as Sally arrives, you leave, whether I’m aboard or not.”

The climb to awareness is a slow one. Nothing makes coherent sense. How can you be the very thing you are looking at? No, not like a reflection, but the very object itself? It is this awareness which leads to fragmentation, shattering the pieces of your consciousness which are lost to an unknown abyss. It seems, for now, the pieces are going to have to be sorted one at a time. You begin with what you can see:

Several rooms. It hurts to look at them all at once. It’s like a knife carving into your brain. You choose to look at just one. Your vision isn’t clear: in fact everything you’re seeing is in black and white. You have the vantage point of a spider on the wall, looking down, with a distorted fish-eye, to what looks like a communal living area which is empty of people, but does look lived-in. There’s a table in the middle of the living area, and padded seats making a C-shape around the table. Whoever lives here has no intention of tidying up. There’s stains and broken cubboard hinges, and moulding food on the studded-rubber floors. You find, interestingly, that you can see the living space from another angle: this time you are looking out from the circular table, seeing the empty chairs as your blink-and-move from one vantage point to another.

Can you leave this room? With a sensation like blinking you find yourself looking over a long, pitch-black corridoor which normal eyes wouldn’t be able to see. The steep darkness doesn’t seem to hinder your vision at all. You blink, clip-clip-clip, leaping along the empty corridor. Your vision has brought you to what appears to be a research lab of some kind. It’s the only place you’ve seen so far which looks pristine. There’s a human figure sat at a large computer monitor. You blink, and find you can see from a vantage point which brings you face-to-face (as it were) with an old wrinkly woman in a patched-together labcoat. Her grey hair is tied back into a bun. She has a large nose and small, beady eyes which glisten in the low light of the lab. She has her hands held together.

You might speak to her but you have no mouth with which to speak. You might make a gesture, but you have to body to gesture with. All you can do is blink: clip-clip-clip, around the lab, taking in all the various vantage points; a medical bed, research equipment, the five cameras dotted around the lab which you know to be your vantage points.

“Can you read this message? I will give you access to the message program.”

Welcome back to Hollow Adventurer, the "borrowed" story of a lich who seeks his happiness. So far he's obtained an abandoned boy, a youthful sailor, some bait and a makeshift fantasy shotgun.

You head back to the port to check in with Johnny.

"Find something interesting?" He says.

You just respond with a simple nod.

"Not much for talking, eh? Well, I've found a decent ship we can use. Check 'er out!" He says, handing you a photo of a less blocky version of the photo nearby.

It takes some time preparing again, but you manage to finish whilst affected by the poison. The boy looks visibly worried, but you don't care. You've fought long and hard to get here. You've seen men both live and die, regardless of side. You've seen abominations roam through territories few have ever braved. Some poison from the sea isn't gonna do much.

5th encounter: A sailing vessel similar to yours is following you. The night fog is hindering your vision, but you can see their light shining as bright as the moonlight. What do?

You are 22 year old Hank Dalton. You and your friends just massacred your way across 30 miles of hell to stop a group of skinwalkers from sacrificing two young girls to the Wendigo, an ancient monster now trapped in the body of a giant buzzard because you killed his last body and he's still pissed about it. One of the two Deputies escorting with you died in the process, the other is badly wounded, but both the girls are safe. And every fucking skinwalker is dead except for Billy Nez, who is heading for the hills in a bullet-riddled '49 Merc despite the two .308 rounds you put through his gut and shoulder. That crazy naked Indian is bleeding all over his battered lead sled's Tijuana whorehouse upholstery, barely keeping it on the road, hellbent on finding the Wendigo before his wounds finally overcome the drugs and sheer lunacy that are keeping him alive.

You hate to give the son of a bitch a head start but you have a feeling you'll need Chief's knowledge and expertise if you want to finish this right. Besides, that Merc's too crippled to let him gain much distance on you. You'll catch him. And when you do, you'll turn him and his pet monster into a wet greasy smear on the blacktop.

"For fuck's sake," groans Zoe, "Do you wanna catch this dude or not?" She pushes a button on the left side of the Chrysler's dash, which drops the transmission in Drive. With her left foot on the brake she gives the Hemi's throttle a couple mild nudges that rock the car back and forth.
"Calm your tits," you snap. Zoe gives you a death glare but stays silent. "Look, I gotta talk to Chief. Some of these things we're fighting don't stay dead unless you kill em the right way."
Zoe nods grudgingly. "Don't take too long." She leans back in the seat and switches on the radio.

Del and her younger friend are sitting outside the barn now, huddled together. Del seems to be half asleep. The younger girl looks a bit uncomfortable but can't seem to wriggle out of Del's embrace. Eh, they're fine. You walk right past them and step inside through the AMC Eagle-shaped hole in the wall.

Jim is busy reloading his guns. Judging by how mangled some of these bodies are it looks like even the Marlin got some use. One final skinwalker is trying to crawl away, one of his thighs is blown to shit and bleeding from probably the femoral artery.

Chief walks up and kicks the mortally wounded skinwalker in the ribs until he rolls over on his back, at which point Chief jams his Garand's bayonet straight through the eyehole of the skinwalker's freaky mask. Instead of just dying like a normal person the skinwalker howls and flails around, grabbing at the rifle and trying to pull the bayonet out of his head. Chief's expression is equal parts bemusement and disgust as he twists the bayonet with a disconcertingly loud squelch. The Skinwalker's entire body jerks and spasms, then goes limp.

"Chief, there's another car, you and Jim can follow-"
"I need to stay for a few minutes," Chief interrupts. "I can try to cleanse the ground. Drive these spirits back where they came from before they start latching on to things and trying to stay."

Spirits? Damn, he must mean the smoke monsters. You'd been meaning to ask about them. "The fuck are those things, anyway?"
"Spirits," says Chief, "Bad ones. Did one of them touch you?"
"Touch me?" you wince. "Shit Chief, he got inside my fuckin leg!"

Chief removes the Bowie knife from his belt, sheath and all, and offers it to you hilt-first.
"Try this," he says.
You grip the knife by its elkhorn handle and draw it from the scabbard. You've seen what it can do in Chief's hands, but smoke spirits aren't people.
"What, do I just...stab em?"
"Stab em," Chief affirms. "Now get going."

In this quest you assume the role of an aspiring student who is about to enter the Mageknight Academy. You must hone your skills, make some friends (and perhaps also some enemies) and fight battles in order to prove yourself worthy of graduating as a fully fledged Mageknight! Each year (every 100th turn) your character will be tested by the academy to see if your character is progressing well and meeting the Academy's high standards. After the 3rd year your character will head off into a their first mission for a final test.

How to Join:
New players must fill out their character sheets. The sheet must include the following information:
>Anyone can join at any time. Latecomers and laggers are given bonus action points to catch up with the other players.
1) Your character's full name
2) Your character's backstory, appearance and any other useful information.
3) You are given 3 Skill Points. Choose 1 starting spell and 2 other skills or spells.

How to Play:
1) Each turn you will be given 2 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions along with a 2d100 roll.
>Normally your roll must pass the [Difficulty Challenge] of 25 in order to succeed.
>Getting a 10 and below is a [Critical Failure] while 91 and above is a [Critical Success]
2) All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any actions posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.
3) After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.

Acquiring and Improving Spells & Skills:
1) Study, research, explore, train or take classes to discover and learn new spells.
2) Training an already learned spell or skill will raise it further to the next tier once enough [Progress Points] are accumulated.
4) The progress threshold is based on the Fibonacci sequence (1,2,3,5,8,...)
>Usually Spell and Skill tiers are named as Basic => Intermediate => Advanced => Expert => Master

Spellcrafting:

>Your dice roll will affect the result of the spellcrafting. Lower rolls will result in weaker or negative version of the intended spell and vice versa.

Social Interactions:
1) Role playing with other players is a free action. Role playing with NPCs, however, will cost an action point to do so.
2) Collaborative Player-to-Player actions like trading, tutoring and PvP, will cost an action point to do so.

Combat:
1) The battle starts with an initiative roll by each player. This tells the order of the actions of each player in the round. The initiative roll also resets every round and a new initiative roll will be needed every turn
2)The next phase is the attack, where the player with the highest initiative roll gets the chance to take an attack action. The player he attacks can also take a reaction and attempt to block, dodge or even counter attack with a spell or skill.
3)To land an attack, the attack roll must be higher than the defense roll. After landing a hit, The damage is calculated with relevant skills and traits using a 1d(1+ modifiers) roll.
4)This continues as everyone gets a chance to attack, resetting the round and this will be done until a player gets downed.

The last hollow of the group me and my peers, including Tora, have been tracking today bellows an earthshaking, bone rattling howl that seems to make even the cool morning air bend away from it in some kind of primal animal like fear. My snow white, bone white hair blows behind me like a dogs wagging tail. Confidently I step forward, as my fellows stay behind me zanpakuto's raised in case our quarry suddenly gets a second wind. And despite the cool mask I wear, my head is filled with stray thoughts. The frown on my face however becomes a smile, the weight of the dreadful secret on my back no longer as heavy as it was, now that I have one more person to confide in it with. Now only three, including myself know of my true nature. I muse, tilting my head as the horned and tusked hollowed roars again, nearly pushing me back as its rusty blood red fur sticks up like its been struck by a stray bolt of lightning and turned to an iron statue.

I cover my face with my free hand, my fellows moving around me into postions as the hollow backs away....Oh, its chosen poorly. Its going to try and break through us by going for me. instead of running or aiming for one of the gaps we've left. Glancing over at Tora as she gets into position, I wordlessly motion to her where she should go with a flick of my wrist. The only reason its taking all of us to take down this particular hollow is because its about as slippery as an eel freshly caught and is fast enough to simply run away from my comrades before most of they could react. And from the expression in the one eyed girl's sole eye, I can tell that she is just tired of this game she's been forced to play, with this idiot among hollows.

The hollow begins to crouch down and curl up, its eyes clearly showings its panic as it screams again and I walk against its massive roar, feeling more disdain for it than usual. Its a coward, and now its going to be executed. I'm sure my disdain is clear for my juniors to see.

But they don't know the extra hate I feel for this thing. Because as much as I don't like it, I am a hollow as well and this thing's existence is insulting me, I feel. I have no idea how something as stupid as it has managed to elude four trained soul reapers and necessitate my and Tora's intervention in bringing it down. It finally decides its time to rush me, and take a chance of catching me off guard. And I smile, already smelling its blood as I begin to enact my planned motions. My smile grows wider and crueler as I let my long hidden blood lust out.

Then my body burns into smoke, my skin flaking away into embers as it tries to bite through me. I reappear on its back and slam my nodachi through its back, pinning it to the ground as it tries to cut me to ribbons with its sharp fur. But it isn't sharp enough to make me bleed or even feel pain.

It tries to run again, pull its fur back in while trying to throw me off or rip my zanpakuto out of its back in a panicked flurry of limbs. I've always hated cowards, So I put all my weight down on it so it can't even think about getting away from me

"You're pinned, you can't run anymore fool" I say coldly as I swing my blade up, tearing the runner in two pieces as

"I am in your debt Kemuri, I don't think we would've been able to pin down that hollow if you were with us today" One of the unseated shinigami with us sighs in relief as his two friends smile with pride

"I just don't get how it slipped through our fingers so many times" The other officer that came with us, one of the ones who share the 20th seat groans as me and Tora share a brief, knowing look with eachother.

"It was a crafty one for sure" She says in her usual dull voice.

"Might've just been lucky" I say calmly as the new officer nods, still rubbing his chin as he follows after us "But lets not worry about things like that, we need to return to the soul society and I'd rather not waste time talking about the dead when we can just continue on"

"Of course, we've wasted enough time already" the man says, walking by my side as I continue on "But I have to say, that was an amazing move back there"

"Thank you" I say smiling as Tora watches silently as she always is "but it wasn't my best, but if you want small talk save it for back at the barracks, after I give my report"

He nods, and the other soul reapers follow behind me...and I know I hear one of them mention my nickname.
