Your name is JACK NOIR.
Your cohort, the CAB DRIVER, has just informed you that the next step of the plan to BUST YOU OUT of this INSUFFERABLE NEON PRISON involves ascending to the HIGHEST POINT IN THE CITY. You are frustrated not only because you are sick of STAIRS, but because you explicitly told a VOICE ON THE PHONE that you would NOT go to said highest point. In fact, you told him to FUCK HIMSELF.
Behind you, GARRY continues to regale the SOLDIERS with tales of MADE UP SPLENDOR.
What will you do?

Hey /qst/, I spent the last night or so putting together a CyberMagic themed text adventure. Rules and fluff are in the image. Will post race select in next post, but a few things about this game:
>The only rules set in stone are the ones in the image, anything else is up to the rationale of the game world.
>For example, if you want to perform a parkour action, it is going to require a Dex stat check, even thought I did not suggest the parkour action in the listed choices i provided.
>This way you guys can suggest and direct the character more openly than I could if I just provided 4 static choices (which i will still provide, but i am encouraging involvement).
>Death is permanent and results in a restart unless very specific circumstances are in play.
I'll explain any additional fluff or confusion if you ask!
>>46358
Is this like another shadowrun? Is magic really necessary?
Race Select Post:
First four posters roll 1d20 and highest selects the race + gender (unless otherwise specified races are Male and Female)
Objective: Survive and Prosper, although the Schism has been behaving strangely lately, leading to an increase in MUN storms, are you a bad enough dude to save Nu-YRK?
>>46397
Kinda, I really enjoy that setting, however MUN (magic) is low fantasy, and isnt over the top. It merely explains some psionic powers and creature appearances.

RECAP:
You are a black man living in America in October, 2015. You broke your computer by punching it, then tried to go to work but had a seizure upon looking at your work boots and fell unconscious. You had a very vivid hallucination during this period where you killed KKK members, shot DONALD TRUMP, turned into UNCLE RUCKUS, and then transformed into RON PAUL. You have awoken from this hallucination and are now free to do anything you wish.
What do you do?
//GM comments will appear prefaced by two forward slashes

Write a rap song about how great the Nazis were.
"Enlist", they had said. They had pushed. "Protect their smile so they can protect your livelihoods", they beat into your view at every opportunity they could. Pretty girls, strong women, the Guardians of Man From The Sea. The juggernauts melded into human form.
So, naturally, of course, you did. You applied. You did the tests your fat shit of a body could do, and even though you could make a mean salsa and a good sandwich, with a smile and a shake of a head, the Brass, the Man, said "Sorry, son, you're just not that someone we're looking for."
So, of course, here you are, an umbrella shielding you from the rain, an anpan in your hand, ready to take the next bus that left Yokosuka. Not that there were many heading here in the first place, of course; this was one of the frontline bases of the war effort.
So, naturally, of course, you had the brains and the luck to stay in the heavy shower after your failed application and audition for two hours. Your stomach rumbles a little more after you finished gobbling up the anpan. You check your watch as it hits 16:04. The next bus would be here in eleven minutes, but you feel like you could make a dash to the machine down the corner and back for some red bean paste.
>Wait for the bus
>Go to the machine
>>16387
>>Wait for the bus
A failure like us deserves to suffer
>>16396
Yeah this.
>>16396
You ignore your growling stomach and park yourself firmly on the bench for the next ten minutes or so. As you do, you hear a faint siren, familiar to the one you heard at the recruitment drive - as a frontline city and base all in one, Yokosuka was probably calling for a curfew. As you raise yourself to curiously check on the source of the noise, however, a different sound now reaches your ears.
The bus leaving town had arrived. The bus driver, an old man, smiles right down at you. The bus looks like it has a few occupants, but it is far from full capacity.
"Next one won't be here for a while. " he says. "Hop on."
The sirens are still going on, and your curiosity is enough that you hesitate for a bit.
"You waiting for some soap for a bath, son, or are you getting on?"
>Get on the bus
>"Sorry, I think I'll get on the next bus."
Trying out the quest meme
You awake in some kind of container. Not much to see. A little red button blinks on and off to your right, and you can see cracks of light in the "ceiling" above you.
You don't remember much of how you got here, though you think it was involuntary.
You don't remember much of anything, really. What's your name again?
No matter. You can try and recall things later. Right now, you're starting to feel a little claustrophobic in this container.
Decide a name.
Do you:
>Stay put
>Press the button
>Try to break out of the container
>>47083
Try to feel out our container - anything else in here besides the button?
My name is Penis
Last name Book
Penis Book
>>47110
Shit. Forgot to add >Write in as an option.
You grope around in the container. You feel two long rods attached on either side, along with some small compartments. You can't see what they are or what's inside them, however.
You return to your original supine position.
On a side note, you recall your name is Penis Book. You wonder how you got up to this point without killing yourself.
What next?
>Stay put
>Press the button
>Try to break out
>Write in
Until yesterday, you were a bargain bin minion, barely topping a fraction of a Challenge Rating. However, your hard work and determination (or dumb luck) has finally caught the attention of your higher ups. It’s a small start, but you’re being promoted from leading the patrols in dungeons waiting to be killed by adventurers to actually being the boss of one. Even if it is just a little base off to the side of a settlement in the middle of nowhere.
Now, with that being said, what are you, exactly?
A) A goblin working for his Orc warlord boss
B) A kobold under the command of his dragon overlord
C) A skeleton toiling under a Lich King
D) A vampire thrall obeying the Blood Sire
E) An imp charged by an Archdemon
F) Write-in
You can also suggest a name and gender with your choice.

Your name is Bailey Jay. World renowned superstar trap. It's almost time for a porn shoot of you in a japanese schoolgirl uniform fapping. You know you have an illness of the mind. But it sure is a high paying illness.
Its been a slow night for you. The damp murky air of the bar weighs heavily on your shoulders as you take another sip of your bourbon. Peering down at the table in front of you, you slowly tilt your head over and glance about the dark room for a moment or two. Aside form a few other quite patrons, the joint is pretty empty. While typically not many people frequent this fine establishment (much to your preference) it feels particularly deserted.
Figures. A quaint little college town in the middle of nowhere isn't exactly the pinnacle of liveliness. You think that since the college has closed down a few days for Fall Break, most of the students have gone home to see their families, leaving the town more desolate than usual. hell, if you were on better terms with your parents, you might be joining them. But alas, here you are, rotting away in some seedy bar while you just wait life to shower you with meaning and happiness.
You begin to feel particularly antsy, despite the alcohol in your system dampening your cognitive processes. You had spent the majority of the past day and a half alone in your apartment, hoping for something interesting to happen online that you could use to occupy your time until classes started back up again. For a moment or two, you begin to wish that you still had some friends to hang out with to pass the time. Maybe once classes start back up, you can give it another shot.
You swish the burgundy colored liquid in your hand back in forth, hearing the ice rattle around in the glass. Despite wanting to get up and leave as soon as possible, you decide to take a few more minutes to finnish your drink. What do you reflect on to help pass the time?
>>46506
>you think back on your successes...
Hard to see it sometimes, but you've gotten farther than everyone thought. Sure, you fucked up and went to juvenile hall - but while you were there, you saw what your future looked like.
You decided that you wouldn't be wearing an orange jumpsuit any time soon.
You came home, finished high school and managed to get into a pretty alright school. Your old friends can hardly believe the same guy who once tried to burn down a grocery store can calmly elocute on Sophocles.
Life is a funny thing
>>46609
A smirk flashes across your face as your run your fingers through your hair, the entire weight of your head resting within your calloused hand. You cant believe you how much of a dumbass edge lord you use to be.
Trying to burn down some shitty grocery store just because the cashier you had asked out turned you down like the arrogant prick you were. To make matters worse, you blamed getting caught on the fact that an old friend once told you that ordinary household lighter fluid was just as flammable as kerosene.
You begin to laugh to yourself, earning you an awkward glance from the bartender across the room.
What a retard. you take another sip from your glass of bourbon. If you hadn't lived through the whole ordeal personally, you probably wouldn't have believed that a teenager could actually be that dumb.
Having finished the remainder of your drink, you slide off of the bar stool, your legs feeling a bit shaky for a few moments until the room stops spinning and you regained your balance. HAving already paid, you shoot the bartender a quick wave as your briskly make your way out of the bar.
You take a huge breath of fresh air, the atmosphere feeling far less cramped and claustrophobic. The wind blows furiously from behind you. There is almost some sort of tingling sensation in the air around you, as if you had just walked into the middle of a storm. Looking up into the sky, you notice that the overcast conceals any trace of the starry night sky.
You still feel a bit antsy from being cramped up in the room all day. Should you try to walk of some of your excess energy, maybe head over to the campus for a bit? Then again ,yo feel a bit dizzy from all the drinks you had. Perhaps it would be best to head on home for the night and just go on a walk tomorrow?
>>46794
>what's the harm in a walk?
Campus ought to be dead right now, but the silence can be soothing while everyone's gone. Plus there's that nice little garden behind the gym that you like.
What is this Quest?
HHBQ is a Quest that previously was hosted on /tg/ before the board change. It's inspired by tokusatsu and henshin/sentai heroes such as Kamen Rider and the Wonderful 101.
THE STORY SO FAR:
Yukari, known as Vanquish, is a hero working in the city of Arcadia to bring peace and hopefully join the hero labor union-slash-superteam, the Peacekeeper's Union. However, there seem to be darker leanings to the city, the Union itself, and even cosmic forces vying for power amongst it's citizens.
Previous threads can be read at: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Hot-Blooded%20Henshin%20Hero%20Quest
All future quests will be archived at the /qst/ archive, and both links will be in every thread.
LAST TIME:
Hurricane lead us to the underground fight club lurking beneath Arcadia, where rejects of the Peacekeeper's congregate to duke it out over big bets and personal disputes. Here is where we might just get the information we need to take down the Union.

>cont.
In order to try to get contact with the big wigs running the club, get yourself a fight for the night!

But there wasn't a board change. You could still run this on /tg/ and be fine.
Ok, I’m going to try something today to see how it works out. This is more of a test run to see how things go, so I may or may not do it again in the future. Also, if this becomes more trouble than it is worth, then I’m shutting this down and never doing it again. Without further ado, welcome to New User Quest!
You have just turned 13, and its time you start exploring the internet outside of Youtube or Freeforums. You’ve hear your stupid older brother say something about 4chan once or twice to his friends so that seems like a good place to start.

You find yourself thinking these things, but you do not know them.
You do see a list of links to places on the site, so maybe one of them hold the answer.
Far off, nestled in an otherwise small Japanese town lies the Dark Gate Academy. An institution of tremendous size, the Academy holds a long kept secret. Unknown to the outside world, this unseemly town is home to a tear in our reality. A gate between our world and a bizarre dimension known as the Darkworld. The inhabitants of this hellish world breach this gate and attempt to flood into our reality and spread throughout the world on a regular basis. However, the Dark Gate Academy is home to students of truly extraordinary abilities. The ability to sense the presence of these evil Darkword creatures, and defeat them in combat, sending them back through the gate.
They cannot close the rift between our world and the Darkworld, but the students and staff of Dark Gate Academy have dedicated their lives to using their amazing powers to hold back the darkness that plagues our world, even if it costs them their lives. They have risen up to the challenge and in secret have become great heroic defenders of the world as we know it.
You... are not one of them. You are a transfer student. There was a bit of a mix-up.
"Ryoji Shida... I've looked through all your records, and I think this Academy is the perfect place to whip a delinquent like you into shape."
You roll your eyes as you lean back in your chair. You get shipped of to some backwards country town to attend some school you've never heard of, and who is the first person you're sent to? The counsellor. Sure, you have a history of bad behaviour, maybe you've gone through five different schools before this one. Does it matter? Who does this guy even think he is?
"Oh please," you fire back, "You think you're the only one who can look at some records? I researched this school before my parents sent me over. I couldn't find much, but if you think this is the school that going to turn me into a perfect student, you've got to be joking! I saw the records, and over half of your students don't even make it to graduation!"
The man's eyes shift, before he removes his glasses. "That may be the case... we hold a very high standard here, and most students just aren't able to... live up to it. But we've always pushed our students to be the best that they can be, and they've always given it their all. Don't think you're the exception, Ryoji. You're nothing special, I've dealt with your kind before. You're a delinquent, a criminal, and a bully. You'll be glad to know that you'll be in my very own homeroom class, so I keep as much an eye on you as I want."
You refuse to give the man an answer, and he lets out a sigh. "I'm not your enemy, Ryoji. I'm sure you don't appreciate being sent here, far away from your home and your family, but this is a good school. We're here to look out for you, teach you, and help you become better than you are. Your current attitude isn't going to do you any favours, least of all here. This is your chance at a fresh start, so let's make it a pleasant one, okay?"
The man leans against his desk and smiles. "My name is Akihito, and I'll be your homeroom teacher for the rest of the semester. Do you have any questions?"
>Nah, I'm good.
>Yeah, where's the nearest exit?
>So the girls in this dump, how hot are they?

I assume no writeins?
>Nah, I'm good.
Unless we can ask where our dorms are, I assume we live on campus?

PART 2: The Universe and all its Stars.
Your appearance is that of one Ivan Beritschoff, though your identity is that of one of his aliases, Benedict Schmidt esquire, Associate of Neo-Human Resource Allocations. You plan on using this identity for the sole purpose of creating a set of other identities less easily traced, for the man whose appearance you have stolen has a young female relative whose deck of Trump Cards was stolen from her and is now in your possession. The fact that he is an Amberite, and wields the incredible power of the Pattern of Amber and is in fact titled nobility of Amber makes him a fairly dangerous man to cross, even by accident.
The current plan is to take on the identity of his daughter, and use her identity to make contact with the criminal underground that undoubtedly exists somewhere in this marvel of a space station, and from there begin your search for greater Power, one that can compare to those of the Courts of Chaos and the Court of Amber alike. Since Ivan himself is using multiple identities in efforts to minimize espionage against his corporate holdings in this Shadow, it stands to reason he has contacts with them, and that his 'daughter' will not raise too many suspicions if she does the same.
While there is always the chance they might try something nefarious, you are probably the most dangerous thing in this entire space station – and that includes the deadly vacuum outside of it, since you can survive that as well.
With all the infinite stars and planets of an entire Shadow to search through, you are confident you will be able to find some Power that can compete with those you know of. It will most likely be alien in nature, as the humans of any Shadow (or the similar basic denizens of any other Shadow, which are not always human-like) are as limited as Real folk in the Golden Circle of Amber's immediate Shadows and the Black Circle of the Courts of Chaos' immediate shadows. To access the tools and equipment to find that Power, you will need time and money. The first is easy; the second....difficult, but not impossible at all. You simply have to establish yourself as a person who lives in this universe.
Which is annoyingly more time consuming than you'd like, but such is the nature of bureaucracy. The price of civilization is red tape, honestly. Still, you've studied how to do this in depth, so it should be relatively easy. Even with the fact that the young concierge who has dosed herself with dopamine and serotonin inhibitors to prevent her hormones from interfering with her job isn't going to be easily charmed or swayed. She must get hit on an awful lot. Or it could be station policy. You'll have to look into it later.
>>40951
A tiny golden plate has her name in white letters formed upon it, sewn just below the hollow of her throat in the sharp pants-suit of the hotel livery. Miss Ballanger smiles the distant smile of the faintly drugged, but her eyes are sharp and her fingers are poised above the hologlass that serves as her tie to the station computer. No visible security aside from four holoviewer crystals set in the ceiling (and probably one behind the counter out of sight), and not too many people in the lobby at the moment.
Ivan seems to be quite the cool ladies man; he's well known, but apparently standoffish, for no one approaches you, though many notice you (particularly middle aged women and youthful ones, in entirely different manners). Miss Ballanger only registers the fact that you are a guest she is here to serve. Before she can speak, you ask politely “Excuse me Miss Ballanger....”
[] I need to create another identity set for my daughter. Could you assist me in this?
[] Could you make reservations for myself and my daughter at one one of your sister companies?
[] I have a friend who will be arriving, but I lack their exact information; could you help?
[] Could you arrange a shuttle flight to one of the other Lagrange Point Stations?
>You may chose up to two options, and they will be integrated as best as possible. Write-ins are always accepted and given priority, within reason. Conflicting options will be worked with as best as possible. Complicated write-ins and choices will increase writing time appropriately.
>I may delay the execution of a vote for a post or even two to facilitate storytelling and interactions with NPCs and environment. Do not be disheartened or assume that the votes are being ignored, please. (E.g. the vote for taking on “Melanie's” form was not implemented immediately because it would not further the goal of having an actual identity on board the station immediately, so it is being put off until it is useful, which is after we have credentials for her.)
>I always read feedback, and I often answer questions at the end of a quest. I may not immediately (or ever) respond in writing to feedback, but I always read it and take what is mentioned under advisement.
