You are a Witcher, a mutant trained from childhood to battle and slay monsters and other supernatural evils to protect mankind. Subjected to horrific Changes which gave you superhuman strength and agility as well as resistance to potions and toxins which would melt the insides of an ordinary man. You also possess extraordinary healing and regenerative abilities and freakish cat-like eyes to see in the dark.

Though drilled for enough combat to turn any small frightened boy into a master swordsman, a Witcher's first ally is preparation and knowledge before all else. Thus, be aware of your tools:

You carry two blades, one razor sharp steel sword and a second of meteorite silver, which while useless in an ordinary battle is deadly to magical creatures.

You are trained in a small selection of minor magical spells, known as Signs

Your instruction included rigorous memorization of herbs and plants and the many Potions possible to brew with them. You can also soak your blade in special poisons and Oils to imbue it with enhanced properties, sometimes necessary for particular monsters.

You may craft explosive bombs of various types with differing effects.

Lastly, an enchanted medallion hangs about your neck which will gently vibrate when in the presence of magic to alert you.

The Age which gave birth to Witchers has long passed. Your kind is few and fewer all the time, as the saying goes, no Witcher has ever died in his bed. Most drift from town to town, scorned by the peasants whose lives they save, eking out a living removing minor monster infestations one at a time in perpetual poverty. A few are the subject of myth and legend, titanic heroes and villains of fables for which the mundane truth is often more grim than the children and superstitious peasantry who listen to such tales would believe.

The Northern Kingdoms have recently recovered from a second devastating war with the black Empire of Nilfgaard which borders them to the south. Only by uniting together under the leadership of Foltest of Temeria did the nations of the North remain free and independent. Though united they were, tension hangs in the air now that the Black Ones are no longer an imminent threat for the time being. Though rest assured, Emperor Emhyr var Emreis - the White Flame Dancing on the Graves of his Enemies, will not rest until the entire world is within his dominion.

But the lines on the map are no concern of yours. Your stomach is as empty as your coinpurse and you find yourself at a crossroads, destinations marked on a signpost. Surely one of these locations will have need of your services, and hopefully the coin to afford them.

The nearby village of Blackwood is a possible source of income or perhaps you would rather trek the main highway towards the Temerian city of Verlain. Your horse can make the journey in a day's time if pressed.

True to its name which you are certain it shares with at least three other places, the village is surrounded by a thin wood of dark trees.

Blackwood is like a thousand little hamlets you've seen in your time roving the world, small wooden homes crowded around a central dirt square with the exception of a single stone two-story. The whole place is quite unremarkable except for the lack of a public postboard. It seems that without anonymous bounties to rely on, you're going to have to inquire around to see if anyone has any use for a Witcher.

Your keen nose quickly homes in on the alluring waft of hot meals and alcohol drifting from the local tavern.

Do you investigate there or elsewhere?

You are in 600 A.D. You don't have Magic techs, but you got a bit of sword skills. To acquire Flea, you must go through the tower. Are you bad ass enough to get through "her' lair? The tower has a certain set of monsters that you must defeat in order to progress. At first, it starts with a few relatively weak monsters, BUT as you reach different floors, new harder foes will appear as you climb to the top of the tower.

In the last thread:

James, the hapless amnesiac, woke up one day in forest with no memory of who he is. Immediately, he was set upon by a spear wielding catgirl called Kenno, who kidnapped him and swept him off to her village. There he met the elder Wisdom Liagra, who was angered by his trespassing. Thinking fast, James convinced her he was a god reborn in mortal form, and she believed him due to his unique utter lack of magical potential.

James was now able to negotiate his freedom; in exchange for taking a wife, he’d be granted free passage from the village. Hijinks ensued and James met Kazzan, the blue-haired Kuudere, and Nemii, the busty bitch. During this, James discovered he suffers from an unfathomably small penis, and decided his new quest was to obtain a magnum dong to rival Danny DeVito. And so he took his first step into the strange world of magic, and became a level 1 Cock Mage.

Heilman. It sounds so stupid, even looks stupid when printed on that dumb tag. You roll the word back and forth in your head a few times, until it doesn't even sound like a name, until it feels like it's just meaningless gibberish.

A brief flash of lights, and the "whoosh" of a vehicle cruising by lights up your radar gun's display: 31 MPH. 6 miles over the speed limit is hardly worth working yourself up over. Sighing, you take a second swig of the flask, before returning it to it's rightful pocket. You move your finger down to your holster mindlessly, playing gently with the curves of your Smith & Wesson .44 magnum revolver. It was hardly police issue, these sticky fingers managed to lift it from a local grow up after taking part in the raid. Illegal or otherwise, this gun would still do just fine for putting a bullet through your own head and finally getting it good and over with. No worries about surviving after that shot… Probably.

The sound of your radio kicking on drags you out of your stupor. "Officer 41-22 this is Dispatch, we have a report of a
suspicious person in your vicinity, potential 10-16, 10-20 Ralph and Sommerset, please confirm."

Fumbling, you grab the at the radio attached to your chest to follow up. "Dispatch, Effi… Officer 41-22, 10-4 stand by."
Putting those other thoughts on the back-burner, you shift the vehicle into drive, pulling out of the dimly lit parking lot you were sitting in. Two blocks later, you find quickly find the run-down office building in question, just in time to see a lone figure duck into a doorway, quickly disappearing into the darkness. You cuss at the ruined prospect of going the rest of your night without having to deal with this shit.

"Dispatch, Officer 41-22, confirmed on 10-31, break and enter, probably just a vagrant."

"Officer 41-22 we have a backup squad car en route, just keep an eye on him."

"10-4."

But that's not really how you feel, not tonight, of all nights. Maybe it's the whiskey were nursing, or maybe it's that this dipshit decided to go and fuck up the rest of YOUR peaceful night. It only takes a couple seconds of working up your own anger to get you to open the cruiser door, step onto the cement, and start towards the building. Right now, it doesn't even matter that you're waiting on backup, that's just going to put one more barrier between you and kicking that asshole's face in.

You cross the threshold of the single-floor office with relative caution, instinctively grabbing at the .44 in your holster.

"Alems city police! Come out with your hands up!"

Nothing.

You hear a shuffling noise down the hall to your left, and spot a recently broken-in door to a room straight ahead.

The ship forces itself forward, perhaps thirty golem units below deck pulling on oars, and several homunculi scampering around the rigging, their odd, elongated forms lending them to such work. The main deck is a hive of activity, the sides of the vessel curled over to ensure the newborn goblins are not damaged by the weather. There are perhaps thirty adult goblins, and another fifty children, all of different sorts from different places, in shanty huts against the barriers of the ship's side.

It is a central part of the Goblin's success in this world, their ability to construct shelter seemingly anywhere, along with the sturdy nature of the whelps, their young. The directors sit around a table in the captains cabin, acquainting themselves with the human sized furnishings, and beginning to argue about where to land, in the north, the center, or the south of this new continent.

The Trade Prince, Castor, listens with startling interest at the babbling directors, cunning eyes whipping between heads. He raises his staff and slams it into the floor, silencing the directors.

''Stop prattling, I decide the course''

The directors bow and scrape, muttering submissive tones.

''We head....''

Every once in a while, /mu/ does this thing where they make an album. Usually, anyone who gets dubs names the tracks, trips names the band/album, and someone else makes the album cover. Once the band, tracks, and album is named and the cover is chosen, then people claim the tracks. Once they've made them, they post it in the thread. Once all of the tracks are made, then the album is put on YT or Bandcamp.

Now that I say it, it does sound kinda like a game.

Alright, so I found this board two days ago, and as any aspiring writer probably would, I got an idea.

Essentially, I wanted to do something like an asymmetric RPG dungeons n dragons type game where the thread controls an average player trying to complete some lofty quest based on rolling for battles and stuff like that. However, I wanted some story (lorefag alert) and so I got a vague idea of what I wanted to do. Essentially, the thread would create the character, pick their skills n weapons, interact with others, and then fight enemies. There will be an occasional bossfight but most enemy encounters will follow the uniform rule that there will be a voting period where people argue over how to deal with the thing, and then a rolling period to see how effective your strategy is. D10 is used for decisions, D20 is used for result calculations.

I know this has been done before, but I wanted to try my hand at being a QM and see what happens.

There are a few ground rules for how shit's handled, though.

>Most sexual requests will be ignored, simply on the basis that your character is a naked unknown man/woman and most people are armed and logically sound. Maybe at some point in the future, but for now, not gonna happen.
>If a player dies, an obituary detailing the name and state of them/their party as well as their proximity to the endgame, length of quest, and cause of death. Some last words and/or a statement detailing their end is included. Postmortem a new character can be started (under certain circumstances you can continue from earlier as a deceased character) which is a blank slate.
>Upon completion, the game ends. The thread will get a report detailing their accomplishments. Since I'm a faggot and want there to be multiple endings, if it's voted on then we can go back a bit and shoot for that.
>I'm a human being with a busy schedule, so if for some reason this gains traction then don't expect me to be writing very often. I'll try to get at least a few (6-7) entries done if I'm on at the time, but we'll see. My schedule probably means that if I'm on, I'll be on for like 2-4 hours.

In a rather unstable alliance of kingdoms to the far north, a new age is approaching. The grandest of occurrences is on the cusp of overtaking the world, and people are panicking. The frigid streets of the Northern Kingdom's cities grow empty as migrants flee the oncoming disaster/upheaval or whatever may happen. But that's just it, nobody could really tell you exactly what's happening. It may be the coming of a god or the true apocalypse, but what we know is that at the farthest northern keep, some disaster is brewing.

You awaken somewhere during the advent of the Prophecy's rising. The High Church, the primary governing body of the region, is slipping as panic overtakes the world, and ambitious adventurers are disappearing by the hundreds as they forage north in a hunt for glory or recognition from the Higher Ones.

INTRODUCTION
You awaken to quiet. Rising from your worn cot, examining your surroundings yields little. The light level clearly indicates that it is nighttime.
