This will be a typical guide your civilization through the ages thread, but first lets create a map for the world.

Things to decide:

Very interesting idea with a lot of possible implication. Perhaps a group have the ability to stay aware during the night. This would limit travel as people wouldnt want to be left helpless on the road over night

You are Alex, half man, half omnimorph. Omnimorphs can transform into anything they've absorbed. You are currently on a quest to defeat Deerhead, a massive and dangerous omnimorph who has learnt how to absorb memories. During this journey, you have met:

-Selene: Omnimorph who escaped Blake Biotech with you. She has assumed the body of a sexdoll to be her 'identity', and with your help, she has upgraded it to obscene levels through consumption.
-Zero: Omnimorph who is obsessed with splitting herself and creating "children". Creator of the 'Exile' group of Omnimorphs which live at the port town.
-Tallman: Omnimorph who defaults to the shape of an elongated and gigantic human man. A good-natured but passive man. Romantically interested in Selene.
-Eleven: Daughter of Zero and the leader of an army of small omnimorphs, she is an ambitious Omnimorph who aims to recover the 'Holy Land' from Deerhead.
-Dullahan: Rescued from a Blake Biotech shipment, she is another hybrid - her body is a woman's, her head is an omnimorph. Eleven's adoptive daughter. Currently being trained to be a 'warrior' by her mother.
-Carla (Dead, killed by you, eated by Selene) Girl from lake Biotech who has had Supersoldier genes implanted into her to treat her muscular dystrophy.
-Johnson A hybrid you met at a motel, looking to eat Selene. Has a massive omnimorph he has difficulty containing. Has a very close relationship with Carla.

You were at the fields which laid embedded in the forests outside of the port town, with Eleven, who was training to use her new human body. She was still twitching while in that form - Eleven's tiny omnimorph body was struggling to manifest such a huge morph.

She punched at a tree stump, and her arm exploded into a mess of flesh and gore.

"Eleven! you're overdoing it!" one of her soldiers yelled.

Unfazed, she went to recover the pieces, and re-absorbed them into her mass.

"Focus on your training, Eighty nine." she snapped back "I can handle it."

"She will never be able to reach Zero's original levels" you could then hear another omnimorph mutter. "We're only chopped-up fragments of her."

"But omnimorph mass can be increased, right?" you asked them. "I've raised mine."

"Yes, but not the total amount of omnimorph cells. You've just made your existing amount of cells bigger." they replied. "It's like muscle - you can make it bigger, but you can't increase the total amount of muscle fibers."

"The only way to get more omnimorph cells is to take it from someone else." they finalized.

---

You've also learnt that omnimorph absorption is like dissolving coffee in milk. The more coffee there is, the blacker the milk gets, and less milk-like it overall becomes. Milk is the omnimorph mass - Tallman, Selene and Deerhead were all having problems with their excessive amounts of absorbed bodies, and that was affecting their ability to transform. Eleven was having a similar kind of problem - she wanted to dissolve a cupful of coffee into just a spoonful by absorbing a full human body with her fist-sized omnimorph mass.

Eleven was also familiar with all of Zero's techniques - she is effectively a clone of hers who has been trained to develop a personality of her own. However, she wasn't matched with her mother in total power, which limited which techniques she could actually perform and effectively teach you and Selene.

Eleven's lessons:
Choose one for you, one for Selene
>Patchwork: Allows you to quickly rebuild yourself or "glue" yourself together, if you were to have a limb damaged/severed or part of your mass lost while its transformed, so that it can be healed properly later.
>Neutral mass combat: Basic combat techniques with your omnimorph mass. You remember that Johnson's style focused on this.
>Maximize: Enhancing/overloading the potential and biology of a morph to achieve a certain effect.

We need a Canadian character

All the American characters are literal fat blobs, and I like the accuracy of your portrayal, but a big strong Canadian character would be better

Then this story would be much better

Americans are simply shit at making stories and characters tho so that doesn't surprise me, seeing as though we have better tv shows and books

There's a reason your country is shit and ours is the one the rest of the world looks up to (due to dealing with you fat fucks)

I've been playing this new game and I gotta say it would be awesome to play a thread based on it so I will give it a shot!

You are the chosen leader of your species. After millions of years of evolution you have reached the age of FTL space-travel! You will be building an intergalactic empire based solely on your decisions! Will you be a warmonger, conquering your way across the cosmos and subjugating all who stand in your way? Will you be a wise merchant, trading and buying planets and creating client-states? Will you be a sacred priest, spreading your holy word to all heretics? Or will you be brilliant scientists, unraveling the secrets of space?

How will you rule your government? Will you be a military dictatorship? A science directorate? A democracy? Will you rule as a god-king through your Divine Mandate? Or a despotic empire where a king rules all?

What will your society be like?
Agrarian, Industrious, Slow breeders, Intelligent?

It's all up to you!

Before we begin though: what is your archetype?

>How does this game work?
Honestly I had no idea what I was doing at first, but I think we've found our strengths and weaknesses by now. This is not a game where you will be crunching numbers. Neither is it a fast and easy game that people should just be jumping in and out of. Rather it is a slow game, heavy on atmosphere and psychology with open-ended choices that reward creativity, an attention to detail and the willingness to analyze and try to understand the weird characters you will get to know. It's not completely without action though. Once in a rare while you will be pushed into a corner and asked to make a decision that might end with permanent death and a premature Bad Ending. In that case, you will never solve all the mysteries of the Huxtable Mansion. We don't fuck around here. Did you think this was just a game?

>What kind of story is this?
It's a gothic, psychological slice of life thriller mystery with science-fiction, fantasy, alternative history and horror elements. Some would call this "slipstream", "new weird" or even "magical realism". There are is also an undertone of sadomasochism, but you don't have to be into any of it to enjoy the game. Finally there might be /u/ (yuri romance), depending on how /qst/ plays it. In short, if you like fuzzy feelings and weird stuff like Lost and Twin Peaks you are at home.

>Hello, I want to get filthy rich on your ideas/work/whatever. Will you sell out?
YES. FUCK YES. Please contact me.

Also I read that if you want to create a loyal following, you should make them do meaningless rituals - so please, every time you sit down to play this quest, stretch and open hand into the sky and say, "Bubblegum". Also call each other Maidsters or something cringy like that, and tell all your friends and family about this. "I know you're usually not into 4chan, but you'll love this!"

The gears! If you can somehow get something stuck in there, maybe it can stop the golem or at least get its attention and save Mistress until you can think of something else. You begin to look around for something to use, but you just can't seem to find anything.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH," screams Mistress suddenly. "MY EYEEEES!"
Maybe it's your heart breaking to pieces that makes you look extra hard, but suddenly you see them, the candles lining the walls of the corridors. You run to the nearest one and pick it up. You're too excited about having found a possible solution that you don't even think twice about going near the golem. You jam the candle in between its metal sheets. You begin to hear it getting louder and louder before it suddenly turns completely quiet. Mistress drops to the floor, splashing some of her blood that has collected on the ground on your dress.
"I CAN'T SEE ... COLETTE, ARE YOU THERE ... I CAN'T SEE!!" Her voice sounds so desperate you feel like just dropping to your knees and screaming yourself. The disbelief and horror in her voice, Mistress's voice who you ... truth be told, probably want to "copulate" with ... who you, truth be told, are ... who you truth be told kind of are in love with. You grab her hands, pulling her out of her blood puddle, leaving the golem where it's standing with the candle sticking out of its back. Quickly you run towards the door you were going towards earlier. You catch a glimpse of Mistress's skin, you've never seen skin so pale (almost like paper), and she stumbles after you, sobbing in a horrid kind of way that gives you goosebumps. Inside the door, Mistress sinks down with her back to the wall. Her arm is still bleeding and her eyes seem to be completely crushed. A part of one of them is coming down her cheek like a boiled egg that has been thrown hard against the wall. You close the door and sink down beside her. You seem to be in some kind of study room with a fireplace. There are small bookcases covering the wall, and a small desk for writing and reading in one corner, with a flintlock gun leaning against an ash tray. The room's only source of light is a big window where you can still see the morning sun.

>Mistress is bleeding to death. What do you do?
[WARNING! You've avoided the second Bad Ending, but it's still possible to lock yourself out from True Ending if you don't play this scene the right way. Be careful!]

You are a young lad without a knight to squire for and you need honor and prestige, and maybe a romantic partner.

For now you wake up from your hovel. It has been a couple of weeks since Sir Havfavel has passed and you need to move on, mostly so you don't starve.

You are scrawny, but strong of will and for some reason older men around town like your face. Where do you go, squire?

Welcome to The Lost Island Quest. Last thread our hero, Alan Rodain, acquired a magical coat, failed to prevent a gruesome fate befalling Paul and was practically interrogated by one of Dolah's subordinates. Now, he attends Paul's funeral.

Paul's funeral is rather short. Father Curtis conducts the ceremony in Calloway's chapel. Quissonce, Gilda and yourself say some words to a small gathering of people who knew the man. Unfortunately he was the last of his particular group to perish and as such the people who knew him best on the Island left this world before him. He was brave. He protected Gilda during one of Seaside's worst events. He freed the rest of you from being saddled with a cursed object. And now he gets to experience his final rest.

After the ceremony ends, you spot Dolah speaking quietly with a teary-eyed Quissonce. Ed stands by holding her hand while that Desden fellow leans against a pillar a short distance away, eyes peeled like a hawk, scanning the small crowd.

You see Blackburn at the back of the assembly, peacefully watching the proceedings, paying his respects.

You also lock gazes with Gabby who promptly breaks eye contact and stares at the floor. You're surprised she came, actually. You don't believe she interacted much with Paul.

Neither did Dart, who's also here, skulking around the back by Blackburn, a smirk not fit for the atmosphere of the occasion plastered upon her face. She might just be here to people watch. Or to protect the Overseer.

****A group of hardened adventurers camps in the valley below a towering, terrible megalith - the Castle Gravesholme. With meager preparations and fear in their hearts, the group prepares themselves for what may be their last entry unto the breach.****

Gravesholme is a dungeon RPG for three to five players. Players take the role of adventurers, filling classic archetypes (fighter, mage, healer) or variations of. A degree of creativity is allowed to the player, with cooperation from me as the DM to make it realized within the game.

Each player has 30 health. Combat is resolved through dice rolls based on stats. 16 stat points are allocated into these areas:

Strength (physical combat, lifting, bow pull)
Intelligence (magic power, detection)
Charisma (conversation, looks)
Dexterity (speed, accuracy)

Stat points are checked against relevant events in-game.
Strength: in combat, strength value is the number of dice rolled when attacking an enemy. If the resultant number exceeds the enemy's armor value, the attack succeeds. The attacking player then rolls dice based on the weapon, representing damage. Damage is allocated based on the value of the dice rolled.
Example:
Player attacks rat. Player's strength value is 4. Player rolls 4d6. The resultant number in this case was 12. The rat's armor value is 6. The attack passes - the player's dagger does 1d6 damage. He rolls a 3 and subtracts this number from the rat's health.

Intelligence:
Each spell cast will require a certain amount of dice rolled. For example, a basic fireball requires 2d6 rolled. If this number exceeds your intelligence stat number, the spell succeeds and damage or effects are allocated based on the spell's stats. Magic ignores armor checks.
Intelligence also governs a player's ability to be perceptive of their environment - such as detecting traps or treasure.

Charisma: certain interactions with the many denizens of Gravesholme will require tests of charisma. Whether through conversation or bargaining, a charisma check may be required to succeed. In this case, a certain amount of dice will be rolled depending on the difficulty of the situation.

Dexterity: shooting arrows or throwing weapons requires a dexterity check. Depending on the difficulty of the shot, the game will call for a certain amount of dice to be rolled, the resultant numbers combined and compared against the player's dexterity stat value. If the dice roll exceeds the player's stat value, the attack passes and damage is allocated. Armor checks must still be performed after dexterity checks.

Armor: this stat reflects armor worn or burliness in combat. It is made up of armor worn in combat - all characters begin with a meager set of armor. An armor check is performed when a player attacks an enemy.

>>
Combat and all interactions will be a mix of DM creativity and stats.

If you'd like to play, please claim an archetype with whatever specifics you'd like would fit the theme. Allocate your stat points, with an emphasis on balance and light specialisation based on class choice. I will give a selection of spells and equipment to choose from once a player has chosen their class. Once all players have created their characters and gathered equipment x the adventure will begin.

This game will last a few days and will concern the entry and first floor of the Castle Gravesholme. If people are interested I will continue.

****The valley's centre is lit by the fire of the adventurer's camp. As they get their fill of hare's meat and mead for the evening, they prepare themselves to face the legendary corridors of Gravesholme, looming above them.****

>Previously, on Shipgirl Commander >>81799

You curse your weight as you run along the cracked street, grunting and groaning as you make your way to the harbor – where the prep would take place. You had expected to socialize a bit more more with the rest of the KanMusu, but the backlog in your duties – after merely a night – had drained you of quite a bit of your time. It was still morning, but you are already double-timing it, making your way past people on the street. The place looks a bit more lively now, not that it ever was totally dead.

You huff and puff as you make a turn, almost bumping into someone.

‘Dang Navy boys! Back in the Army, we were a trite more civilized!’ You hear a man of elderly nature shout past you as you run, seeing the harbor just down the next road. From about eighty yards out, it’s hard not to notice what’s there.

There is a massive tent in place, along with what looks to be a makeshift shed, almost as large as the tent, next to it. Outside, you could hear people hollering and yelling – you notice small tubes of rolled-up fence – being carried around by personnel. You even notice the hairy man from the day before, furiously discussing something with a few hard-hatted contractors, evidently trying to break themselves out of a disagreement.

Boxes of items with the Admiralty’s symbol are set in place by the roadside, along with tires, axles and the like, all lined up. Everyone must have been busy since you had been out. You feel a little creep of embarrassment as you consider your own person, your guilt extending across your chest while you break into a walk towards the tent; you put a mental note to get a little bit of the flab off your being.

At the opening flap, the last face you expect – and the first one you see, is the Admiral’s annoyed, expectant and exasperated one. You collect yourself, breaking into a salute and letting your file tumble – when the Admiral waves a hand.

‘You don’t have to say anything, kid.’ His gaze breaks into one of understanding. ‘I know what it’s like. You don’t have to say anything at all,’ you look confusedly at him and he goes on, ‘women, right? Drive you crazy.’ He turns away, but not before pointing a finger at you. ‘Wait ‘till you get married – it’s gonna be a Hell of a lot worst. Kids; Couch Rights; “Where did you put the toolbox, baby?”,’ he breaks into a shrill imitation of a hysteric woman, ‘ “I don’t know where your damn toolbox is, ya oaf!”.’ He shakes his head. ‘Crazy, crazy.’

You really don’t know how to provide an answer to that as you both walk in, other then, ‘You said it, sir.’

‘You’re not bad, kid.’ He smiles.

The tent’s a lot busier inside than it is outside.
