OPENING CRAWL: http://brorlandi.github.io/StarWarsIntroCreator/#!/AKTjy2VjkQBEpB9AEgU-

The remnants of the Kuat defense fleet were still in hyperspace on the way to Coruscant. You were assured by Commander Kohlenkau that you’d arrive in the morning after bedtime. Not really good news considering what happened to Kuat. Most of the girls were despondent. Kuat was their spiritual home, not just for them but for all Starship Girls. They may not have been born there but they felt a spiritual connection there that connected them to all Starship Girls and to the starships they represented.

And it was now in the hands of the Vong.

You can’t blame yourself though. Obviously you won’t ever blame yourself for anything, most everything is something else’s fault. But the fact of the matter is that the Empire as a whole lost that battle. You were outnumbered, outgunned, and outsmarted. And the Empire has paid dearly in lives and ships. You assured the girls that you’ll come back for Kuat one day.

But…

You sigh, walking along the quiet halls of the Lucifuge. You couldn’t get any sleep. Not at all. So you just tried to walk off the restlessness until you were tuckered out. Didn’t work really. But you figured you could force yourself asleep after a half hour of walking and scaring crewmen with your presence. “Still awake?” You stop, then turn to one of the doors. Standing in the doorway is Resolute. She has her arms folded, her eyebrow crooked up in curiosity.

“Yeah,” you say. “You?”

“Yes.” She adjusts her glasses a little. Her nightdress was definitely a welcome sight, hugging that incredibly curvy body of hers. Ooohh yes. She coughs, clearing her throat and pointing to her eyes. “Admiral.”

“I know where your eyes are,” you state. She rolls her eyes. “Sorry if I woke you. I was just restless.”

“It’s fine,” she says. “I-… I just had a nightmare as all.” She looks down, kicking her feet at the floor. “So… I was already awake.”

“Well, hey.” You smirk, pointing your thumb to your room. “I have my own room. You’re always welcome to stay the night if you’re that lonely.” She stares at you, as if considering it. Still though, she looks away, tapping her fingers along her arms.

> “Or don’t. It’s fine.”
> “Come on! It’ll be fun.”

Last time, you negotiated your way into the Solar System League and secured a duel with Major Bethany Cabot, the killer of your brother, who seemed far more eager to fight you than Fairchild was to indulge your demands in any fashion whatsoever. Too bad for her.

After a moment, Fairchild's remaining soldiers follow her, trooping behind her in a desultory gaggle quite unlike the crisp formation they had when they arrived. Perhaps no one wants to be the closest to her right now.

“Let us speak again after this matter is resolved. Perhaps at the concert?” Asim suggests.

You just nod, your mind already a full day ahead of everyone else. You can practically feel the Knuckle Kaiser tearing Cabot apart already, but fortunately Rosita is considerably more politic.

“You won't be able to hear a thing over Lysa and I.” She jokes, “...But after that, I'm sure Roarke will be feeling more calm and we can do...whatever it is the League actually does besides bothering us here in the Belt.”

“We'll have a meeting to discuss the state of the war, most likely.” General Hatsheput chimes in. “I can't promise anything, new orders may come down the pipe, especially if the Chairman really is going to appoint a War Marshall. I can, however, tell you that the most likely course of action is that you're asked to send a token force along with the next offensive against Avalon as proof of alliance. Getting your banner on JNN would send a strong message to the people of the United Jovian Colonies. I don't expect Fairchild will be very happy about this, and I don't want to speculate at her emotional state after the duel...but I don't see how we can keep her out of this. Like her or not, she has a lot of power, a lot of soldiers, and a lot of sway over the war effort right now.”

“You're both awfully confident that he'll win. What happens if he loses? Hypothetically speaking, of course, is there still a Phaeton? Who would be in charge of it?” Colonel Luxol, the one you gather is one of the Chairman's sons or something, inquires, “Major Cabot is quite the skilled pilot according to my sources, and whatever this Nightmare is, it's going to be of SOUL quality at minimum.”

“You mean you don't know what it is?” You notice his insignia, “Aren't you with SOUL?”

Colonel Luxol smiles and shrugs, “General Fairchild isn't exactly the most forthcoming woman, what goes on in the mechbays of her personal battleship are something even I'm not privy to. Colonel Stern, sir?” He turns to the other Colonel.

In the spaces between worlds and beside the dim pyres of desolate stars, there are great ships of bright metal and hard radiance. They fight a lonely battle against the innumerable enemies of humanity: alien races gone mad with hatred for the heirs of the Terran Mandate, the spawn of wild AIs that have cored out the hearts of their homeworlds, and strange-brained things that were once
human but are now infectious and terrible to contain. They fight and they die in solitude, and only their own brethren know the price they pay.

Then again, knowing any of that is a cold comfort indeed. You are Knight-Acolyte Dauntless, a newborn AI (not that any of your Knight-Brothers would let you forget), and for the first year of your 'life' you were kept close in your Order's chapterhouse. All you could do is absorb everything that Grand Master Turtullian could teach you about the universe, God, and your place within His universal sphere. After you begged and pleaded, you were finally allowed out into the universe, your core installed in a Prowler-class scout frigate.
It took two weeks to regret your hastiness on the year-long patrol mission you were assigned through mostly uninhabited space, and now, at nine months to the day, you are seriously considering piloting yourself straight into a star. Unfortunately, you weren't created with such suicidal tendencies, so you comfort yourself with the knowledge that it will only be three more months before you'll be relieved.

You're so full of the fuzzies at the thought of returning to the Chapterhouse that, as you translate back into normal space at the heliopause of the Avalon system, you actually miss the first anomaly. You've already lit your drives to skirt the edge of the system to the next transit point when you get around to checking the single inhabited world in this system, as you have once a month since you started your patrol pattern through this sector of space. It takes you a minute, but you realise that the world, Avalon, has almost no orbital debris, and you can see no sign of the crude, almost ramshackle orbital structures that its inhabitants have managed to construct. In fact, there's no sign of any activity in the local asteroid belt, either. The first time you saw it, it made you proud to see a world of humanity bootstrapping themselves up and establishing a presence of space again, but now... from the edge of the system, with light that is already a good 12 hours old by the time it reaches you, Avalon looks as dead as a tomb. You'd shiver, if you had skin and not deckplates.

>Something is clearly wrong. You should head for the colony, but take your time, slow and quiet, just in case.
>Something is clearly wrong. You should return to the Chapterhouse as soon as possible, to let the Grand Master know.
>Whether something has happened or not, it's not your business. You should stick to your patrol route, and see what's happened the next time you come back into the system.

Stage 160: Setting it.

It goes without saying that dragonettes – and their male counterparts naturally – tend to consume copious quantities of food, and can consume even more alcohol. Of course, Kiku-chan's lack of tolerance and your inordinate tolerance balances you out into a single dragonette, while Er yin is a more typical specimen where alcohol is involved. Ordering does not take long, and it is a pleasant and quiet wait, though Kiku-chan makes several soft, uncomfortable noises as she shifts in place.

You are definitely thinking about getting some of those for one of your subordinates. Maybe two.

Leaning back you pour the rick red wine for Er Yin-sensei and yourself, letting it breathe for a bit. She is having, of all things, teriyaki style stead with pineapple glaze, accompanied by roasted vegetables and pickled artichoke hearts. Kiku-chan is having something more normal, a four course sushi and sashimi meal with an addition of white bean soup served cold and rice with pickled artichoke hearts. You are having something called a lasagna pastry with a cream sauce and a meat marinara sauce, along with roasted artichoke served with balsamic vinaigrette and a tasty olive oil. Someone has to eat the actual artichokes, after all.

The dining area is filled with soft conversation, spirit children of many varieties enjoyign the view and the company of others who will not be bothered by unusual conversational topics. The kumiho-child over in the corner is a little peculiar, in that she is eating vegetarian, but otherwise things are fairly relaxed and normal.

It puts you on edge despite yourself.

Kiku-chan glances at you,and then asks softly. “Do you regret not having the life you would have had, Ryukusa?” You blink at her, the informality of your name on her lips - outside of an outraged cry – peculiar.

[] Not really....
[] Well, if you ask, I suppose....
[] Yes, a little....
[] No. I have none.
[] Yes, I do.
[] Honestly...doesn't everyone have a certain regret?

What else were you expecting? To reinforce your own sense of self, to close yourself off from the world and assert your presence... Your mind felt clear, unimpeded by the subtle machinations and suggestions which had served to layer detail and meaning onto the shadows around you.

Orange rays from the setting sun pierced the forest canopy as you dismounted Tim's wholly inefficient workbeast. It was rapidly approaching night, and the coming darkness such a time implied could only be a scant few steps behind this warm ambience.

"Irue, you want to take it from here?"

You had chosen to disregard any attempts to confront the other potential scouts of Luna's Dominion, instead dedicating what little time you had left towards intercepting their main body. It was a gamble; One made with your lives, and theirs. Everything you had experienced in this false world until now told you that these people were anything but your ally. What purported itself as a delegate for the Shrine was little more than a squad tasked with the subjugation of Dryad's Dominion, and all those associated with it.

Though you could likely hazard it had something to do with the Dead Zones which had proliferated East Heaven, their motivation towards such a drastic action still eluded you... At this point, you could only spare a moment to wonder if it even mattered. Before you had been drawn into this elaborate lie, the existence of a Shrine to Dryad had been a complete blindspot in your studies - One which only served to widen the gaping void of uncertainty created by the revelation of the 8th Mana itself.. And your apparent connection to it.

"Elly, can you keep track of their movements from here?" You turn back to the shy woman who rather uncomfortably wore the title of Dryad's Representative. An individual who stood as a favorite among the favored; Whole heartedly beloved by a Mana whose tenets emphasized its affections. She was...

"Yes! I think I can. It will be much easier than searching for them was, at least.... Probably."

...Not a reassuring person to rely on, even in the best of circumstances.
>>
"Tell me if you notice anything unusual." A quick acknowledgement is enough to spur the timid representative to work, while you make yourself comfortable in the duskborne shadow of the evening wood, fingers drifting habitually towards the familiar surface of your late sister's bracelet. More than an heirloom, it had proven a powerful relic in its own right... Even if its powers, and indeed even its origin, remained a mystery to you.

While you can't claim that your repeated blind usage of it had been without a price, as every time you could recall having invoked its latent abilities inevitably ended in some manner of localized disaster, it had given you at least a passing familiarity with the accessory. Knowledge gained from trial and error, which provided ever more of a foothold onto controlling it.

In this fake world, the Mana had responded to you whole heartedly from the moment you had called out to them. A fact which you suppose was a testament to how far this strange place would go to make those who wandered into it believe it was real... And ironically, the one thing which had convinced you more than anything that it wasn't. You had spent no little effort growing up trying to coax a response from the Mana and found only silence to meet your pleas; Cynical though it may be, you held no delusions to their sudden responsiveness being the result of a change of heart.

However what you needed now wasn't a hollow imitation. Even on this fictional stage, there was a source to be scoured for a genuine Mana's presence. A tome of memories locked away, and a sickening feeling of self-revulsion. Your every failing, the doubt which accompanied each misstep, and the fear that made you question whether it was worth even trying.

You felt your wrist warm as the familiar downward spiral took root, and you offered up a silent apology to the one you had failed. It was a futile gesture, one which garnered no response... For reasons you felt the weight of all too heavily.

You inhaled the woodland air, and exhaled Shade.
>>
Shade was many things. Insecurity, fear, trepidation... The incarnation of each and every pitfall within your mind. A nigh invisible and illogical force that could never-the-less render you frozen and impotent. It was brutal, and unforgiving, ever poised with its tendrils wrapped tightly about your throat. It was a test, a trial, and a tribulation... And ultimately, Shade was something which would never abandon you.

When you had first arrived, you had thought to marshall Shade's influence to ward off the pressure and headache that had imposed itself upon you. Where before it had lent a gravity to your presence, now you sought more from it. You needed more than weight, more than an insulation from the world attempting to close in around you.

"Irue?" Tim's voice warbled out, as if muddled through a wall of water. "Do I want to know what you've been up to pick up that trick...?" He continued nervously.

You opened your eyes to a world of gray, awash with the silhouettes of people and things which no longer held their features. Shifting and immaterial caricatures that tried to pass themselves off as genuine.

"It's not something I like to talk about." You reply shortly, reaching out to take the shadowy limb of who you assumed to be Tim - Only for it to distort around your hand as if you had tried to grasp smoke. You stared at your hand for a few moments in wonder, clenching your fingers tentatively.

What else were you expecting? To reinforce your own sense of self, to close yourself off from the world and assert your presence... Your mind felt clear, unimpeded by the subtle machinations and suggestions which had served to layer detail and meaning onto the shadows around you. That disassociation rendered you aware of your status as the sole corporeal actor in this play of shadowy puppets.

"Have there been any changes?" You set the uneasiness aside while climbing to a stand.

"It seems like they're settling down for the night..." Elly reported conservatively, "What should we do?"

You were as prepared now as you'd likely ever be.

>Confront them on your own
>Observe through the night
>Send Tim or Elly to talk to them
>Other? (write-in)

"You want us to do what?" Meyu asks.

"The ship is going to fly low enough for the carts, and those of us with wings to get off, and then fly around drawing fire for us" Altea says. "Meanwhile, we will shut down the generator, and make our move on the palace"

"I got that, I'd just like to go back to the 'low enough' bit... how low is low enough?" Meyu asks.

Zaine claps Meyu on the back. "Relax, old man. I'm sure Betsy will be fine" He says.
"It ain't Betsy I'm worried about..." Meyu says.

"Relax" You say. "It'll be fun"

A horn in the cargo hold gives three quick blares, and the cargo door opens up.

"Look's like we're up" Altea says. "Everyone to your vehicles!"

You look around as everyone scrambles into the carts. You mount up on the Rook, but it was never actually decided who would be going with you.

You probably should have a passenger, and you need someone who will fit onto the Rook. So you call out to-

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirty year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

The wind blows through the now-lifeless berg, the only sound to be heard as the only two living creatures in the area stare one-another down.

Piccolo looks understandably horrified by what he's just witnessed. From your spot on the Lookout, you feel quite sick to your stomach from the spectacle. That thing, on the other hand, continues to look toward the Namekian with that disgusting smile of his. Just looking at it makes you squirm. Even without having just observed him suck the life out of a human being with that terrifying tail, you'd be able to tell there's something very wrong with the creature from one look at its hideous face.

"Tofoo," Popo's voice cuts into the vision. "What's happened? Is Kami-I mean, is Piccolo okay?"

A solid thump behind you momentarily disrupts your concentration, but instead of distracting - it's in fact a blessing. The moment of reacquiring that concentration to continue sealing, you notice a little bit of your "stitching" had become loose where you first started, before finding your rhythm.

Lucky that the sound roused you, else this whole debacle would have taken a lot longer. You grin as you hear Lex loudly talking trash behind your back. Phantoms probably haven't been planning on dealing with an Archmage.

> [PRIDE] Final push. Roll 4d20 instead of 3d20. If you don't seal this turn lose one turn of sealing.

> [DETERMINATION] Keep it up 3d20 sealing

> [FEAR] Take a break and cast your sense outside to check on Verde, no sealing this turn but become active in meatspace again.

(Hey guys, I'm back. Sorry for that big gap of being gone, I was really really sick. But I've made a recovery and I'm doing fine now)

Last we left off you found an areana called 'Killzone'. You saw a battle beteween Rick and the current champion of their vehicle league. You try to confront him but are just brushed off as always, he walks away.

Before the last threat died you joined the basic league. When you tried to borrow your freinds power armour the teller tells you "No no no, buddy. Power armour counts as a vehicle in this areana". not that it matters, you didn't have power armour training anyway.

You're told that you can get in to fight your first fight today. Your best guess is that Rick is still around the areana somewhere. What do you do until it's your time to fight?

(Remember everyone, there is no rolling in this game, it's all roleplay. your stats are there as a reference, and they do affect the world.)

Hello all,

For the first time, our DM is taking us through a dungeon. I'm still rather new to this game, so any advice for a half-elf morlock would be greatly appreciated.

The mind is a fascinating thing, possibly one of the most powerful parts of humans and humanity. Where mindless beasts would simply lumber around thinking only of their base needs, humans have always been interesting. They ponder, they think ahead, they even create not only for the benefit of themselves, but complete strangers. Though, even I know that the creations of human minds aren’t always so… benevolent. Sometimes the very physical world can be affected by the human mind, mind over matter if you will. Sicknesses and side effects cured by placebos, the same side effects and even unimaginable pains caused by a nocebo, strength given to our bodies in times of great need or stress. These are just but a few ways mind can overcome matter, how it can overcome the physical world. Now though, we will find out what someone would do if this mind over matter was taken to an extreme. If they could not only affect themselves, but the people and things around them far more than they have any right too, look at it as… some kind of social experiment. I would like to see what a human would do given these abilities, the how and why are ultimately unimportant. Just keep it interesting and you may be rewarded.

Before you can gain these coming abilities we need to know who you are. If you would be so kind as to pick your name, and an origin, or if you really feel up to it, come up with a better origin and I may be inclined to give you something other than what is offered. Though these origins will provide you the benefits they mention at the start they are not exclusive and with enough training could be matched by other origins.

>You are a gamer; a shut in who spent their time roaming and adventuring in the virtual worlds of your games to escape the very physical world. Your experience with controlling things by proxy has given you an innate ability to do so in the physical world. Delicate, small, and precise movements and actions will come to you much easier. With practice you could do the most delicate operations with a simple thought and a bit of time.
>You are a philosopher; well a better way to put it is you were a drop out. You saw through the factory that was public education and decided to simply step away from all it. You tend to be more of a big picture guy and are able to visualize things around you much easier, your range with your ability is farther reaching and can be extended with ease. You are even skilled with controlling things you can’t see if you know they exist.
>You are a scholar; well you may be a bit young for that. But your will to succeed in anything and everything you do is much higher than most. You were always one to give something your 100% even if it seemed hopeless. You have a much easier time focusing and putting your mind to something, while exerting your mind on the physical world you tend to find brute force tasks such as moving heavier objects or stopping faster objects simple. Though, precision and delicacy may be a problem at times.

>1.
The Ghoul and Zombies charge into the cluster of armed and furious Majadin. Hatchets and cudgels spark against daggers and curved swords. The ghouls long, knifelike claws shred silk and slash flesh. The ferocity of the assault would break lesser men.

The Majadin however, are not lesser men. They hold firm, slashing back, opening great, gaping wounds in the Zombies flesh. One tumbles back, jaw working dumbly at the long dagger jutting from its eye. Even the ferocious ghoul screeches in furious pain as its pallid flesh is split under a heavy sword stroke

>19. Watch your back.

The Majadin are so engrossed in their defense from the front that they forget about the undead that just gelded their leader. You remind them of your presence.

Your spearhead punches through the back of a Majadin guard, the bloodied point emerging from his breastbone. With a twist and a wrench it is free, cutting through the air again to sink into the underside of a Merchants arm, blood spraying the ground from a severed vein. You turn, spinning the shaft and bringing the heavy butt across the side of a thirds head, the dense wood forcing the skull to yield.

A quartet of dagger-shaped warships cut through the blackness of space, high above the world of Cal-Seti. Just one section of a much larger battlefleet assembled to bring war on the Koornacht Cluster. In the center of this warship division is Retribution, Alana Tyrna's new Flagship. A trio of Lambda shuttles, one from each of the other warships make their way to Retribution, carrying the captains of those other ships on their way to meet their new commanding officer . . .

I allow between ten and twenty minutes for voting depending on the importance of the issue and how divided the vote is. If the vote is tied up, I usually allow an extra five minutes for a tie breaker, and if no one votes, I roll for the tie breaker (The will of the dark side).

I always try to incorporate (and encourage!) write ins if they don't violate the spirit of voted decisions, though I may edit or tweak them to fit better.

I also am always open for questions. I'll just ask that they stay relevant to current events in the quest, or at least the near future.

"Commander," Lieutenant Bastra, your new Executive Officer, calls from the doorway to your ready room. "The captains are assembled in the forward conference room.

"Thank you, lieutenant." you lay down the datapad you'd been studying. Admiral Lobkin, in your private meeting with him, had told you that this attack on the Yevetha, Operation Strike Hammer, was almost an ad hoc execution. That was abundantly clear to you by the outdated fighter compliments your division carried. While most of the forces of the Empire flew Tie Avengers and Shadow Droids, those from the Brentaal Protectorate, now reintegrated with the Empire, still carry Tie/Lns, with no time to have them upgraded or replaced. You just hoped the Yevetha were similarly ill-equipped.

"Should you like me to accompany you to the meeting, ma'am?" Bastra asks.

Stanley worked for a company in a big building where he was Employee #427. Employee #427's job was simple: he sat at his desk in room 427 and he pushed buttons on a keyboard. Orders came to him through a monitor on his desk, telling him what buttons to push, how long to push them, and in what order. This is what Employee #427 did every day of every month of every year, and although others might have considered it soul rending, Stanley relished every moment the orders came in, as though he had been made exactly for this job. And Stanley was happy.

And then one day, something very peculiar happened. Something that would forever change Stanley; something he would never quite forget. He had been at his desk for nearly an hour when he realized that not one single order had arrived on the monitor for him to follow. No one had shown up to give him instructions, call a meeting, or even say 'hi.' Never in all his years at the company had this happened, this complete isolation. Something was very clearly wrong.

Shocked, frozen solid, Stanley found himself unable to move for the longest time. But as he came to his wits and regained his senses, he*

Unfortunately, as engaging as the Parable of John would be, and as much as I want it to be on here, I'm afraid that the group Role play and narrative style puts it firmly in the realm of Quests.
