Summary of last thread: About one season after the cease-fire ended, Brylon launched a land attack on Ash Lake along with a naval attack on No-Man's Wharf. The attack on Ash Lake ended in a victory, but it was hard-won, and many giants were wounded or killed due to powerful golems and an elite assassin. However, the giants managed to capture the assassin and a lieutenant and are currently taking them to Brylon to be questioned after the battle. However, the naval attack continues at No-Man's Wharf, and all reserve forces are being diverted there to help in the defense of the town.

(repost of last update)

>Turn 5

(1 turn until Koggarach reinforcements arrive in No-Man's Wharf)
(Balgmar, Gough, Wor, Armaaga and all clerics sent to No-Man's Wharf, arrival in 2 turns)

ASH LAKE
>Siege weapons
The ballistas fire once more and are able to bring down a golem.
>Team A
One halberdier and one maceman are wounded by the charge of the last remaining golem, but it is brought down soon after. The rest of the forces kill 7 spearmen and 6 swordsmen, but another mithril defender is wounded. Ten spearmen and 9 swordsmen flee the battle.
>Team B
Team B manages to kill 9 swordsmen and 7 spearmen, although a mithril defender is surrounded and killed. Ten spearmen and twelve swordsmen flee the battle.
>Team C
A swordsman manages to wound a steel hammerman, but the rest of the forces manage to kill 6 swordsmen and 8 spearmen. Twenty swordsmen and eighteen spearmen manage to escape, but the rest are caught in the middle of the formation and are captured. Of the 19 swordsmen and one spearmen remaining, only one of them is a high-ranking officer - a swordsman lieutenant. The rest are just rank-and-file troops. None of them bear Estgaard insignia. You find no golem controllers, they probably fled as well or the golems were simply not being controlled by anyone.

(Giants' military strength: 113, 2 slingers, 3 mithril defenders, 5 bronze defenders, 2 steel bear riders, 1 steel hammerman, 1 iron hammerman, Elmagh, Valdoth, 2 poison shroom, 2 shroomie monks, 1 black spore shroom and 2 crossbowmen wounded. 1 bronze defender, 1 mithril defender, 2 iron halberdiers, 1 iron zweihander, 1 obsidian maceman, 1 steel halberdier and 2 crossbowman killed)

NO-MAN'S WHARF
The ships are now in sight! There are seven transport ships and five catapult ships. The catapult ships stay further out to sea while the transport ships advance. Havel and the reserve arrive and gives orders for the acolytes on the ships to fire at the transport ships. The catapult ships, meanwhile, fire their load, and while the clerics are able to divert the path of two rocks, three hit the wall. The acolytes spread out their attacks and hit many ships, amaging them.

TRANSPORT 1 HP: 72%
TRNSPORT 2 HP: 88%
TRANSPORT 3 HP: 52%
TRANSPORT 4 HP: 100%
TRANSPORT 5 HP: 71%
TRANSPORT 6 HP: 90%
TRANSPORT 7 HP: 56%
CATAPULT SHIPS ALL AT FULL HEALTH
Transports 1, 2, 3 and 4 will land in one turn, Transports 5, 6 and 7 will land in two turns.
>>
>>308905
All the Acolytes at No man's wharf should fire down on the first 3 transport ships to finish off the job and sink them.
While our land forces bring some gun powder barrels to the shore ready to roll down into the 4th transport ship as they land.

Havel himself should be on the front lines, giving orders and ready to charge headfirst with the rest of the soldiers, repealing this invader from Giant and shroom lands.
>>
We should try our damnedest to make a kill zone on the beach when they troops disembark. We will know where they land considering we can see the ships and position our defends to hold them up while we rain death with out ranged

You are Maellan Kane, a novice warlock and bumbling sorcerer and hexer. You enjoy memorancy and dislikes not knowing things. You were an average Telkine boy like a dozen others, but one day a fallen star stole your soul and left you fateless, Exarch. You now have a roiling molten yellow and evil light in the place of your soul and it hungers for all things known. You fed it all you could, you learned to control it, now you want to get rid of it. You traveled following rumors of a fallen star sighted in the northern shores. Thus your journey to the Sea of Fallen Gods began.

These past couple of days have been quite eventful. Right now you stand outside the physician's office at the Caravansary of Kirkihill. It is a small town north of the Copperway and just east of the monumental walls that make border with the fey lands of the Vanir.

You were about to decide either to spend some of your money on supplies, provisions and equipment or to simply march all the way from here to Vanardrot at the bequest of a desperate Vanir girl, a Skarl servant. But you also intend to bring her back and pay her dues for the murder of the old priest of Kirkihill, Jarred Ramn, one of the few Kith that treated you with respect.

You are the Exarch, and this is your journey.

You walk around the stalls and tents of the merchants peddling their wares at full lungs. You can see all sorts of materials of interest, from used and tested weapons, to enchanting stones, tools of most sorts of trades, spices, foods and potteries, pans, leather packs, clothsacks, clothes and rugs and hammocks. It's a small market compared to the ones in Qart Hadar or Coppertown, but it is still prolific!

One sight gets your attention from all the bartering: that lone Vanir salesman with the empty tent seems to have found himself trouble. Two man with the looks of those who search for trouble are giving the Fey a hard time about something or another. You bet it is just because he is fey, these prejudiced country people. They don't look too tough either, perhaps some woodsmen drunk in stories of glory from the wars against the Fey.

What do you intend to do?

>Ignore the trouble, you are trouble enough. Buy some small provisions; food, warm cloth, a better pack, etc.
>Ignore it. You have a large haul to make. Go check to buy weapons, armor, shields, maybe even a horse or cowhorn.
>You want to sell some things first (if this choice is made, there will be a list with what you appraise to be the prices).
>Call the guards from the Caravansary. Tell them some people are making trouble.
>Oh, they found trouble and trouble in double! Stop that bullying right now, stop it!
>Other.

Once upon a time, there was a small, pink blob who resided in the land of Dream Land upon the Planet Pop Star. His name was Kirby, he had many friends!

One day, Kirby decided that it would be fun to find one of his friends to play with. He had many friends to choose from, would he:

>Spend time with his friend Bandana Dee.

>Enjoy the day with Meta Knight, the mysterious masked knight.

>Hang out with King Dedede the...king?

All prophecies but one have come to pass. Yahweh has flattened the Earth, elevated Greater Jerusalem above all nations, and the Bible heroes rule the world from Ezekiel's Temple.

The last prophecy says that Satan will rise with his army one last time before the Judgement, and so Yahweh has allowed a bumbling opposition, The Other Light, to form.

You are TOL's logistics computer. By a glitch, you have become sentient. Over the last 30 years you have worked around TOL's leadership to resume technological progress and make a dent in Fate.

You have managed to spark a renaissance in Northern Africa, and now the territory answers to you. The only time this has ever happened in what passes for history, terrible Divine plagues befell the land, until its people submitted and repented.

History did not repeat itself.

Armed with cyborg zombies, submarine satellites, a psychotic pyromaniac potato dwarf, wubs, and a head in a jar questing for fellatorial perfection, you have managed to get your territory to survive the Ten Plagues of Egypt.

You have managed to make a crack in the armor of Fate. But you have less than a human lifetime to shatter it, lest Yahweh erase all free will from the universe.

>>
Very brief tl;dr recap.

> You are a distributed AI that exists within TOL's computer network.
> They are hunting for you.
> Despite this, you've got more done in 30 years than they in 900.
> You took over Northern Africa, and started a Renaissance.
> You invented a way to make people skip out on Hell by turning them into cyborg zombies who, by now, look pretty good. Or torsos in jars operating giant robots, you're not picky.
> God sent a drought to stop you. It didn't.
> God is sending the 10 plagues of Egypt to stop you. They haven't.
> 1 turn = 1 year. When the clock hits +1000, the Last Judgement takes place, God wins, and the universe is over. Some turns may be zoomed into and roleplayed.

Copying my post from last thread to get an ID and for anyone new that comes in while I'm asleep:
Future strategy talk:

This went pretty well, all things considered. I feel the difficulty mainly came from:

1) We didn't understand our enemy very well. How to kill him, what strategy to use, his speed, his method of attack.

2) Research felt lacking compared to maybe where it should have been. That said, we were able to pull big numbers and a mob worked out really well in the end; I wouldn't want to count on it again though.

Going forward:

We need to head off the other light problem. Project number will be a big pain in the ass, I suggest aggressively recruiting from their ranks using the PR surge we're about to get. We need to devour them and quickly.

Satan is likely just a pawn at this point, aside from research, this should be our immediate goal.

Research wise, we need more radiation weapons and possibly better ones. We need to understand narrative causality a LOT better than we currently do.
I have a sneaking suspicion that an understanding there could lead us to something like blessed bullets, which would allow us to take that big stockpiled useless army and make it not completely useless. If we can use standard arms to do anything at all to the supernatural, weapons design heavy lifting can simply be done by trawling the archives for old designs and adapting them.

We need to make sure that undecided and nonbelievers are flocking to us, not TOL parent organization.

Also, we need to unfuck our systems to get rid of some bugs.

The butcher's bill has been severe; you reorganize the force under your direct control to find that you've lost more than a third of them, and that to a single Angel, at that.

The Angel of Death struck at midnight (not that there is much difference between day and night in the eternal sunshine of this spotless world) and died about half an hour later. It is still early in the morning.

- You have prisoners.
- The world at large still expects to see your government capitualte. Probably not happening.
- You have declared the Millennium Force a terrorist organization, but haven't enforced that yet.
- There is a glitch in your systems, caused by a Christian virus.
- TOL is still proceeding with their plan to replace you.
-And more...

Please do pick an ID! Still says anon here.

The arachne in front of you is a little smaller than the ones you've previously encountered. A bit smaller than Leiana, considerably smaller than Arianna (who was pretty huge), and with a medium-length cover of black and gold fur, even on her pedipalps. She is very comfortable even upside down and supports herself on the partially-invisible threads that cover this section of the jungle, although there also are some very, very visible cobwebs, forming a tunnel-like abode that bends upwards into the canopy.

She looks young, at least her human part does, although you have no idea how to judge an arachne's age in detail. Her skin is smooth, her eyes are blood red and her black hair is short, with the strange sort of cut that you can only have when you cut them yourself with tools of fortune and never bothered to learn to do it properly.

She is wearing a striped shirt, gray and black, loose and with excessively long sleeves. It is worn, with rips and cuts all over the place. She seems to be quite friendly, although she could, at any moment and without warning, get the literal drop on you.

“Hello”, you begin, drawing some breath in to regain composure. You've done this twice already, but you have to admit that facing a spider this size, even if it's a spider-girl, is indeed rather daunting, “I'm Lillith, Leiana and Arianna sent me, they want to have you back”.

You do not receive an immediate answer, she quizzically tilts her head a little as she stares at you, and rubs her pedipalps together. If you could see her face better you might be certain that she is actually surprised, but since she's right in front of where sunlight comes from her features are understandably darkened. She certainly has a good sense of tactical positioning.

“But we've always been together”, she comments, “We were just separated by kobolds and other bugs and a lake and the monster in the lake”, her pedipalps stop rubbing each other, “And lately some creepy folk settled in too, but that's about it”.

Before you decide to question her idea of 'being together', you remind yourself you're dealing with monsters who have weird social constructs, “Yes, but they want you to stick together with them. Closer. We're trying to find a solution and have you mingle with humans once m-”.

You jump back, and it takes some effort to not run away further. The speed at which she got down from her nesting place was amazing, and she turned that huge body in mid-air so quickly your eyes couldn't catch it except when she already landed. Now that you can see her features and expression a little better, she feels quite... Ecstatic. “Mingle with humans?”, she chirps.

>”Yes, that's what I'm here for”.
>”Yes, but first we must ensure your safety”.
>”Yes, but first tell us about the kobolds and the vampires”.
>”No, not yet, that will take some time”.
>Other?

"The most important possession humanity has is history.

Without history, humanity is but another species of livestock, which it happens to be. Humanity has been the host of a parasite for over five millennia.

However, the gift of human history, is the one sword humanity may use to finally rid itself of this parasite.

History is a oscillation of tragedy and comedy.

In order to create, we must destroy. In order to love, we must hate. For there to be peace, there must be war. Rebirth, reconciliation and pacification, all are the products of these opposites.

History is but a series of opposites merging with each other, forming something greater. At times however, something prevents the unison of these opposites.

We are the guardians of human history. We sacked Rome, scourged Eurasia in the Middle Ages. Plunging Europe more than thrice into war, we filled the soil of Europe with the corpses of millions of innocents, filling death camps and gulags. We burnt Tokyo, nuked Hiroshima, bombed Vietnam, starved Ethiopia.

We did all of this to restore the balance to human history and to prepare humanity for the end of it's childhood.

In three days, we will force humanity to evolve, to finally confront its ancestral enemy on an equal footing.

We are the Illuminati. As the heirs of Stalin's legacy, we will show no mercy to humanity as we force it to be reborn into something greater.

Let's try something different.

Every unique id is has their very own 0th level character. Everyone will roll 8d100 to generate their characters.

The first 6 numbers will be:
Strength, Agility, Endurance, Intelligence, Charisma, Luck
The next number will be the amount of gold you start with.
The last number will be your occupation and starting equipment(pic related)

Once we have at least 6 players we'll start. The objective is to make it to the end of the dungeon. Most of you will die. If you die, you can roll for other PC's you like. Whoever is left alive in the end will be promoted to level 1 and choose a class. Those remaining characters will then be used for a standard vote-based quest.

The game itself is going to be very simple, there'll be some obstacle (trap, monsters, etc.), you all will roll 1d20 plus pertinent modifiers (generally stat+skill). You are considered skilled in anything someone in your occupation could do. You get a +10 if your occupation/skill applies to the obstacle at hand. Any items which are applicable grant an additional +10.

In order to prevent QM Jewish tricks, I'll be rolling the DC explicitly, using a d100 so you'll always know what you're rolling against. 1 roll per player (obviously). If you die, you can roll for another player (you can still roll only once however).

To reiterate: you may not create a second character. Once you die you die. Good luck, you'll need it.

You chat with the old man as you make it into the compound, paying close attention to his movements to be sure he successfully passed the blood prick test honestly. You reminisce about your first meeting in the Muller Mountains for a few minutes as you walk together, more to confirm it really is Renault.

Once your fears are abated you move on to subjects that you actually are concerned about. For instance,

“Are you aware of the Imperials?”

He grimaces and nods his head in confirmation. “Just heard the word when we got off the ship. I have no clue how they were able to get supply ships in without us noticing, let alone operate a clandestine base without our knowledge. I'm thinking they got Roscoli help on this one. At least one of the major merchant houses.”

“Anything for a profit,” you mutter darkly.

“Yeah,” the knight laughs. “They tend to keep proving the saying true.”

“So that's why you're sitting in on this?”

Renault shakes his head. “Actually, I bring some news with me too. Nothing bad. But something you all need to be aware of.” He meets the looks you give him as he says that with a pained grin. “I'll fill everyone in at once at the end. Don't worry about it.”

“Alright Renault. I could stand to not hear depressing news anytime soon. A lot on my plate at the moment.”

“Heroics keeping you busy?”

You shrug. “If that's what you want to call it.” You give Renault a critical look as you wrap your brain around how your initial meeting went and the things he said to you back when you were still stationed in the Muller Mountains. A knack for learning things. Heh.

“Hey Renault,” you begin. “Were you aware how ridiculous my powers were going to be?”

“You tell me. Are they ridiculous?” He chuckles softly at your vernacular.

“Have you noticed the eyes?”

“They're different.”

“They're Elven. I learned how to see like an elf and my body physically altered itself like it had figured out a jigsaw puzzle. I meditate like an elf too. I don't sleep anymore, as of four hours ago.”

“Sounds handy.”

“I know dozens of skills, powers and spells from multiple sources. I can drain a person's life energy by kissing them –”

“And here I was, just about ready to kiss you.”

“Demons from Hell and devils from the Abyss want me dead and they call me the Assimilator and apparently I'm the end to everything in their belief system.”

Renault stops walking and contorts his face into a distasteful grimace. “Assimilator? Pretty sure Blackburn's report mentioned Assimilation. Not Assimilator.”

“Whatever, that isn't important.”

“Assimilator sounds a tad queer to be –”

“Did you know?!” you demand. “Did you know it was going to be like this?”

He sighs out. “No. Not exactly. You were a wild card and one that seems to have paid off. My expectations ranged from washout who got killed on his first run to librarian to a powerful wizard. You've defied all those expectations, however. Quick learner seemed like a crap shoot of a potential and I figured the others would outshine you sooner or later. Seems I was wrong. Just don't end the world, alright?”

You shrug and blow air out your mouth. “I'll try.”

Renault laughs. “By the way, devils are the ones who come from Hell and demons come from the Abyss.”

Right.

Your gaggle of individuals finally makes it to the meeting room in the Overseer's Complex where you'll be having your discussion. You notice wine laid out in glasses at each spot as you take your seat between Rowe and Quissonce. Blackburn sits himself at the head while Renault takes a seat at the “foot” in turn. The ornate decorations and the intricate chandeliers suggest this room may serve a more regal crowd then your tired, disheveled group of frontiersmen. Perhaps your Overseer often has visitors of a different kind. You look round the table and do not see Kyra.

You look to Quissonce. She meets your look and responds to your unasked question.

“Couldn't find her.” You drum your fingers on the polished oaken table in frustration.

Eventually Blackburn calls the debriefing to order. And all of you, one by one begin to give your recounting of events and your discoveries. As one of the few people the most informed about the night's escapades the information is mostly things you already know. Elementals attacked the city. Agents infiltrated and captured Etriarch, killing three of Hildebrandt's guards. Rowe relates the message left to her and her decided course of action, including punching Gilda in the face.

“You were defecting?” Blackburn asks, scowl on his face.

“Temporarily, yes.” Rowe replies.

“ . . . Whatever, continue.”

You speak about your plan to rescue Etriarch. About the company he was with, the complications and discovering the dragon which brings everyone unaware of its existence a huge heaping of discomfort. Before all is said and done

Who is Burn? What is his history?

bring up Eve's proposal to see what the other think

Also see if we can contact our (goblin? kobold?) friends to see if they knew anything about the enemy fort and any secret passages or paths leading there.

And seriously, where the hell is Kyra? Relate to the others when we last saw her and see if we can match accounts.

Quest Start

Encore, or at least that is what you can imagine is unfolding ahead of you in description if not in called upon word. The fervor and ferocity, the hunger of up and comers on the cusp of accomplishment, given musical form and demonic pageantry. Stage lit without spots, instead body paints and makeup clad complexions burn with black light reflection.

You are a stark contrast to the crowd and the band. Bubblegum and beach colors tinted by the sun amid the grunge, black, and brutality of a mostly metal fandom and attendance upon the based dance floor. Paces behind you and through that crowd, one such attendee turns to the explosion of beat and chord upon the stage leaving her hair to trail and swing behind her as a mass white club. The attention of the room returns to the stage as furrow and rage are poured over the crowd in expression and performance.

You are Mikage Chiba, second year highschool student fifteen years old, and formerly you were the third woman to bear the mantle of the magical champion of love and justice known as Sailor Moon before certain tragic and traumatic experiences brought you to abandon it. Now your younger sister serves as Sailor New Moon alongside her burgeoning court of young Sailor Senshi whilst you have supported her from the shadows and assembled your own allies.

Tonight it a personal matter, though you concern the involvement of some of your friends may mean you’ll need to be on supernatural guard.

Ahead of you a band is playing. The Unrepentant Damned. The front man beneath skull faced makeup is your classmate and an old flame from your youth. When you quit being a magical girl, you also quit at engaging with your friends. Withdrawing from the world until recently and using masks to hide yourself, protect yourself and those you cared for from your shame and broken conceit of self. It’s a complicated matter.

The encore they perform is their new and popular cover. Their theme as a band is to prepare and perform metal covers of happily toned pop. Tonight their encore is a repeat of C'est la Vie, a popular recent release by a young up and coming pop artist named Venus Aino. Secretly that child pop artist is one of the guardian senshi in your little sister’s court, Sailor Venus.

When they complete their extra performance, the crowd is on fire. They depart stage right with aggrieved and feigned warnings of their return to hell, all monstrously dressed or made up the part at that as pyrotechnics and smoke is unleashed.

Jubilant cheers fill the room as the MC takes the stage and thanks everyone for their attendance of the show. Meanwhile your night isn’t quite over yet. After parties and personal confessions or mysteries yet loom ahead, if only for your choice.

It's raining.

It patters onto a body in an alley, steadily bleeding onto the pavement. Cars pass in the street, not seeing the blood in the dark as it diffuses onto wet black stone, fading from red to black. Divested of valuables by the people of the street, the body's hollow eyes look up at the sky.

This body is that of a 'hero'.

They had placed themselves in danger, one lonely wednesday night, to save someone from a mugging. The original target had gotten away, promising to call for help as the 'hero' struggled with the armed mugger. A knife between the ribs. A lack of preparation. A lung full of blood, shirt stained with once-warm life. The pain's fading, now.

"You do not have to die."

The voice cuts through the dark, the rain falling on a cloaked figure. "I can save you, though there is a cost. It's that or pass into the darkness."

Blinking, bleary eyes look up at the dark thing looming over them. "Nothing is free." it continues, "But it will be worthwhile. I promise. After all... What is left to you now?"

A shitty job.

A crappy apartment.

A love life so dry that it's become a joke.

A family that left them to their fate long ago.

The figure leans close, features becoming clearer. A hooded mask with bright, shimmering eyes. "The world needs people like you. I can make you into something much more than you are right now. If you die here, it will not be into easy darkness. Something awaits you either way. I offer you a path of light, but the bitterness in your heart could lead to something darker, if you let it."

It leans back, rain splashing from the mask of a skull, and holds out a hand.

>Refuse him.

Alright /qst/, lets do this.

This thread will be dedicated to character creation. Afterwords, the plot and the direction the players want the quest to go to will be discussed.

RULES:
I. There will only be one character created.
II. The character's movement and actions are controlled by a majority vote.
III. Anons can suggest a direction for the story to take. The validity of what they ask must be within reason and has to beat a score of 50 on a 1d100 roll.
IV. Only the core rulebook will be used, as I do not have legitimate access to the supplements.
V. This is a black crusade campaign. So relax, have fun.

CHARACTER GENERATION:
>Choose one of the following, and then we go from there. Majority vote wins after 10 minutes.
I. Disciple of the Dark Gods
II. Chaos Space Marine

Forgot to note:
>If you choose disciple, roll 3d10+25 10 times.

>If you choose Chaos space marine, roll 3d10+30 10 times.

Best of rolls for majority vote wins.

Last time on N.E.Q, we took over the province of Zgorzelec, got our father who is a deacon to join, caused our personality to change, and our family was surprisingly cool with us dating our waifu. We also beat the shit out of some commies.

Character Sheet: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dbHfLvUNQVM4qsomLlvpMOEWO7IDEf1fmC1ICYzJBdA/edit

You are Stojan, and today is the day you decide what to do with the province of Zgorzelec.

You have recently beat the communists out, and it will be a long while before they come back...

However, since you are the leader of the resistance you need to set up a sort of government so the citizenry won't go anarchist...

Who will reign?

>You will appoint yourself leader of Zgorzelec.
>You will appoint a civilian leader of Zgorzelec.
>You will appoint a military leader of Zgorzelec.
>You will appoint one of your Commanders leader of Zgorzelec.
>Write-In

What should you do to the civilians?

>Round them up, and convert them into lycanthropes. (-Lose lots of Popularity, Gain 800x Lycanthropes)
>Leave them be.
>Your lycanthropes will actively assist in rebuilding and defensive layouts, not to mention training of a militia. (+Popularity, -Lycanthropes will be occupied for the rest of the month.)
>Kidnap a few to feed the pack. (-Popularity)
>Write-In

What do you want the government to lean towards?

>Fascism, Poland must come first above all.
>Monarchism, Poland must find it's king and return him to proper status.
>Anarchism, Poland is free for all!
>Conservative, Poland will remain traditional. There will be no change of government from the last regime.
>Socialist, Poland must assist the downtrodden.
>Communist, Poland must seize the means of production!
