Hey everyone! I know it's REALLY late! I do apologize about that! I thought I remembered saying the quest was on Saturday! Anyways, we shall begin!

When we last left off, our protagonist, Mordecai Jones. A trader from the irradiated Wastes of Neo Nashville, Tennessee. Had just awoken from a six day coma after his caravan was attacked by a group of raiders known in the region as the "Gore Chuggers". Now, wanting revenge for the theft of his property, and the killing of all his employees, our hero(?), Has requested the aid of a diminutive young woman, and member of N.A.S.R. by the name of Madilyn Crawford, in his quest.

It had been three hours once you left Cratersville. Three long. Boring. Endless hours of walking through the burnt out husks of trees that were once considered a forest. All in the hopes that the shy girl only a few feet ahead of you (and subsequently tripping over her own feet, as well as every fucking root along the way). Could lead you, to one of her groups hidden caches.

"Are you sure we're heading in the right direction?" You call out. You take a small sip of refreshingly cool water, from a canteen before continueing. "It's been three hours since we left."

The small, brown haired girl in front of you, keeps her gaze planted towards the ground in front of her as she speaks.

"I-its j-just ahead M-Mordecai..." her stuttering is really starting to piss you off. As well as her lack of eye contact. "J-just over that h-hill!"

You let out an exasperated sigh as you continue walking. "You said that half and hour ago. And the half hour before that... and again before that as well.... Are you sure you actaully know where it is?"

I'll ask now because no one answered last thread. Which is my fault for being so late to the party.
Would I be wrong in assuming that everyone just says Naser (like nasa but with an er) instead of saying each letter?

Shit! I'm so sorry! It said last night that the thread wasn't created for me(I tried three times to upload, but the captcha kept telling me iy wasn't working!) So I decided to wait until today to try again. Only to find out that it had indeed worked lastbnight, and that the thread was still up! Again, i'm so sorry about that. I'll start off right where I left off last night. This week just isn't my week for 4chan it seems.

There are 3 simple goals in The Hitmaid Quest
1.Protect the Master
2.Stay Alive
3.Don't let the young master figure out what's happening behind the scenes; if discovered, instant game over.

>Name: Elizabeth Stark (Real Name Unknown)
>Age: Appears to be mid-twenties
>Confirmed Kills: 24 (Rumor has it Stark was behind an additional 20 deaths)
>Background: Traveled the world, with operations ranging from the Former Soviet Union to the United State of America. Telling her hits from the rest is simple: Stark kills efficiently, leaving nothing behind. Attempts to trace her fail to provide anything
>Appearance: Based off the report from the child left alive in the deceased Sen. Conrad's room, Stark is a woman of approx. 5'6”. Straight, black hair worn in a bob cut, thin in build, wears glasses and has brown eyes. Allegedly multiple scars on body seen by witness,
>Danger: Great. Unknown factors are a threat to our nation and government; more deaths by her hands cannot be allowed.
>Notes: Suddenly vanished from record 4 years ago. Her record of killing every other month suddenly stopped, leading us to believe she either perished or had a change of heart.

The blonde girl closed the folder, before setting it into her desk. It was the only document she kept from the past; after acceptance as a maid for the heir to the Vermilion Industry and Technological Enterprise Incorporated. she felt such things were worth discarding. Her life here was one of simplicity: clean the estate, tend to the Master, and fix whatever meals the cook messed up. It was enjoyable after a life spent living from one kill to the next. Never knowing when the nation's government was going to burst into your safe-house. The heir had his own share of problems, ranging from business transactions, wedding arrangements, and business inspections, all the way to the occasional assassination attempt. Attempt, because none of the assassins made it halfway to their goal.

Her modest paycheck went entirely into recreating her old arsenal, along with new tools. She had dispersed them across the estate, to protect and serve her Master. After all; what's a maid who can't deal with the trash?

She walked over to her closet mirror, making sure her black uniform was trim and organized. She checked her ponytail to make sure it was tied off properly. Master seemed to enjoy this hairstyle. Finishing her outfit with her glasses, she looked at herself in the mirror. Yes, she looked the proper part of the maid. Walking over to her desk again, she pulled out a side drawer, before lifting out a fake bottom. In it lay her personal tools; an array of weapons she carried on her person. Now to decide which to bring.

Can't be a maid without some throwing knives. There's a law against it or something.

The Fearsome Skeleton is garbed in a few pieces of leather armor and carries a sword in a sinister grip. It jabs a finger at thee, an ill omen straight from a death's head! Thou let'st out a confused cry of fear. Sir Schnepperel hath been awakened by the ruckus, muttering of fighting devils. You pray him willing and ready for another bout!

What art thou to do?

For all things Cewri: http://pastebin.com/edit/UgtRDe9f

Summary of last thread: The Cewris were able to defeat the raid at Ash Lake and No-Man's Wharf, and afterwards began the rebuilding effort. They were able to capture Mallory, an assassin of the White Rose Knights, and from them it was learned that Chanterelle, Deathcap's kidnapped lover, was being held in Albemeria Castle, where she is currently planted in the ground and being used to grow more shroomies for the king to eat and to sell to halflings. A map of the Nabir Desert was bought from the traders which allowed the giants to explore it. Within the sands they found two great capitols of the Anubian Empire, Manakhaten and Ramkhamen. However, Ramkhamen was cursed and the residents there were disfigured and driven insane by a vicious curse that seems to encompass the whole desert. The giants were able to take a black powder-laden ship and slam it into the harbor, which, along with some other barrels set up along the harbor, exploded violently and did severe damage to the harbor, delaying the incoming attack that was building from there. However, there is the possibility that they may strike again. Patrols have been doubled outside Wolfsmeade and checkpoints have been set up, so further spec-ops attacks may be more difficult.

3rd of Coolha, Year 4
3 turns until Coldha
Cewri Empire Stats: (See http://pastebin.com/UgtRDe9f)
---
>(Free Action) Looking for the source of the curse
The giants return to Manakhaten where they learn that the curse is originating from a corrupted obelisk within the old capitol, Ramkhamen. However, getting into that city will be no easy feat, for any who falls in battle will be cursed and will turn against you (this includes those who are wounded) in a manner similar to zombification. To make things worse there are more than likely several hundred feral Anubians roaming the city, all with a thirst for blood. Apart from destroying the source, it doesn’t seem that there are any ways to break it. Akashir isn’t nearly as dangerous but there will likely still be a battle should you decide to go there. I wouldn’t bring anyone you’re not prepared to lose without a plan.
As the giants leave the village they see some freshly-killed corpses of feral anubians and “cursed ones” that the anubians are burning, and they aren’t pretty. Grown to about twice the size of regular anubians and filled with grotesque-looking growths and deformities (with Cursed Ones sharing many of the same features), the corpses prove that the curse looks to be a very undesirable end for any giant.
>(Free Action) Buying an animal friendship totem
The centaurs thank the giants for their business, and give them a totem of animal friendship in return for 20 barrels of mead. (-20 barrels of mead, +1 animal friendship totem)
>(Free Action) Another wave of troops
Sen’s Fortress has produced the following this turn:
- 2 red steel zweihanders
-3 steel halberdiers
-3 steel hammermen
- 3 steel zweihanders
- 3 steel pegasus knights (human)
(-28 iron, -36 mithril, -10 scarletite)
>New Black Powder Catapults
Two black powder catapults roll off the production line and are ready for use. (-4 wood, -4 gunpowder, +2 black powder catapults)
>New Siege Weapons
Agaricus reveals his new designs – one is a rocket-propelled arrow firing machine known as the Hwacha (maybe you can give it a cooler name?) which can fire many arrows at once and is useful against ground troops. The second is a cannon, a device used to shoot iron balls over vast differences with a great amount of force. The hwacha will require wood and gunpowder to make, while the cannon will take metal (iron or better) and gunpowder. Cannons can be produced faster than hwachas or catapults due to their smaller size.
>The Capital Ship
The capital ship is made, and she is quite the marvel of engineering. It’s able to hold up to 40 giants, has two cannons attached to it, and has slots for two other siege weapons. (Capital ship completed!) (-8 wood, -6 gunpowder, -4 iron)
>More shrines
The giants get to work at making shrines in every city. When complete, they’ll produce more favor per turn. (Progress: 1/3)
>>
>EVENTS:
-The wandering traders are here! This is what they’re offering this time around:
>15 scarletite for 1000 silver coins
>One good hint coupon for 900 silver coins
>Two trained dire bears for 1000 silver coins
-You have a totem of defense laying around that can be placed in Anor Londo, Sen’s Fortress or No-Man’s Wharf.
>>
Also runes are like spells, you can only cast one a turn unless stated otherwise.

Birthday Cake.jpg
2MB, 6016x4000px
>JULY 19th 2016

“Happy Birtday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear...”

The next word is a strange mixture of “Ace” and “Robin”. It seems the people in your life are unsure with what name they should associate you more with.

It's been over three months since TWA was bought out. Three months and four days, if you want to get exact. Ninety-five days is how you count it though. You've been counting every single day since then. Ninety-five days since you won that match against Kassius Orwin. Ninety-five days since you held your first title in your hands. Ninety-five days since the announcement that TWA had been bought out.

Ninety-five days since you last wrestled. Ninety-five days since you've felt right.

You were cautiously optimistic about the buy-out at first. You were worried about people possibly losing their jobs in the transition, but were excited at the prospect of moving up to a bigger and better company. Ninety-five days later, and all you've gotten were a long-string of “We have plans in effect”, “We're working on something currently” and “We'll get back to you” from Proxy, the head booker of Total Impact Wrestling.

As you blow out the nineteen candles on the cake, you wish that the drought would end, and that you can return to the ring soon.

You look up from the cake to see all of your friends crammed tightly inside your small apartment. Even Owen and Patty, two friend who you thought would be busy on the road with UPW took time out of their busy schedules to see you on your birthday. Even Proxy decided to make an appearance, for whatever reason, but she doesn't seem to be enjoying herself. Of course, she never seems to be enjoying herself, her face has always been cold and expressionless.

“Open your presents!” Kimberly exclaims with excitement. You smile as you turn your attention to the small table of gifts next to you. You pick the first box from the pile. This one if from Abby.

You open it up and pull out a medium sized-figurine. “It's an official figure from that superhero movie we watched a few weeks ago,” Abby explains, though she really didn't need to. It's a pretty recognisable superhero. “I... I hope you like it.”

You smile as you set the figuring on the coffee table. “Thanks, Abby. It's really cool.”
>>
Abby gives a blushing smile as you pick up the next gift, from...

“Kevin?” you glance over at your grumpy mentor. “I didn't expect you to get me something.”

“Good, don't expect me to get you anything else, Kiddo.”

You chuckle as you unwrap the gift to reveal a pair of Black&White kickpads. They've got a real professional design to them, though they look a little worn.

“Like 'em?” Kevin asks. “I wore those at the 2003 Royal Rumble PPV! You can have them, now!”

“You gave him an old hand-me-down?” Danny asks. “Dude, aren't you rich?”

“It's all about the sentiment,” Kevin replies. “This is me passing something on to my student.”

“Oh,” Danny mutters, “So does that mean I can get some kickpads for my-”

“No.”

You continue to unwrap presents one-by-one, as the party shifts focus from everyone crowding around you to various mingling among the guests. Despite how cramped your apartment is, quite a few conversations break out, while some of the less fun-loving members of the party, namely Proxy and Omega, are able to each find themselves a corner to brood in. As you set your gifts to the side, you pick yourself of the couch and make your way to one of the party-goers.

"We're covering you, go on, don't be afraid."

One of the men behind you, Corporal Hendricks, has his assault rifle pointed firmly at the door in front of you, body tensed and ready for anything. Behind him, Lieutenant Parra holds his rifle loose in his grip, keeping an eye on either end of the alley and occasionally checking above. Both wear a combination of military grade armor and makeshift armor over their uniforms.

Flanking you are Alice, Luis, Grayson, Kim, Jane, and Erin, who are armed with simple weapons and looking terrified. They're glancing at each other and at the green metal door in front of you, but no one moves forward.

Welcome to Zombie Hunter Quest! I used to improvise some quests back in /tg/ and am just getting back into this, so this will probably be a slow quest, but hopefully one packed with action.

You guys will usually be picking some greentext options, and rolling dice for your actions. If I call for a roll, it'll be a 1d100 unless otherwise specified, and I'll probably just take the highest roll for a dilemma unless there are lots of posters.

Talking is always a free action unless otherwise specified, so feel free to write in anything you think the character ought to say. Feel free to ask other questions as well, and I'll try to answer them one way or another.

>Alice is a tall and gangly looking girl with dark skin and large brown eyes who used to be a high school student. She survived the initial outbreak with another group, every one of whom died except for her. You never really got to know her well as she kept to herself and didn't say much once she'd joined your group. She's armed with an ice pick.

>Luis is a thick and solidly built man with tanned skin, a thick mustache and permanent five o'clock shadow who used to find work outside the hardware store. He survived the outbreak by He's alive because he volunteered to stay and protect the women when your old group decided to fight the newcomers. He's armed with a claw hammer and wearing makeshift armor made from sporting gear and phone books.

>Grayson is an old and bent man whose thick, curly hair has receded and grayed. He was a janitor for a local movie theater for the last 22 years, and survived by locking himself in a utility closet for two days before escaping and finding your old group. He's alive because your old group considered him too old to fight. He's armed with a rebar spear.

>Kim is a short, middle aged woman with a slim build and a bit of a wild look to her. She killed her mother-in-law, husband, and kids when the world went to shit, and rumor has it she wasn't exactly stable before that either. She often mutters to herself in Chinese, sometimes just mouthing words and shaking her head. She's armed with a rebar spear.

>Jane is a slender young woman with tanned skin, a gym body, and long blonde hair tied into a pony tail. She used to be a stuntwoman for more bankable (attractive) actresses. She survived the outbreak with her action hero boyfriend John, who was killed for fighting the Legion. She has experience scavenging with your old group's away teams. She's wearing makeshift armor, and armed with a kitchen knife.

>Erin is a short, slightly chubby girl with glasses, pale skin and freckles. You don't know much else about her since she wasn't a part of your old group, but she's armed with a sharpened screwdriver.

James Kowalski. He was a congressman for the state of Nebraska. His strength was his natural leadership ability, but he was prone to bouts of rage that caused uneasiness with his former politicians. He has his trusty rebar spear he had since the first week. Alice is to my left with a long ice pick.

The world was once ours and we shared it equally. The forest was our domain and it stretched between all four corners of the world. We lived in peace and upheld the balance. There was death, but no suffering. It was all part of the circle of life. However, all that changed when the creatures with the Red Flower came to this world. Humans, the Guardians called them. They came in the night and burned down our forests, killed our guardians, raped and pillaged our lands. There was no end to their crusade against us and no reason behind their cruelty.

We, the creatures of the forest, were brought close to extinction before our salvation came: The World Tree, the center and the roots of our Forest that once spanned the world, called us all back to it. Within its borders the last Guardian, the Great Horned Owl, placed three barrier spells that would keep the Red Flower out and whoever wielded it. Before he fell into a deep slumber from which there would be no awakening, he placed the new role of Guardianship upon the red-eyed Awoo Race. They would guard this new forest realm behind walls of magic until the end of time.

After three centuries of peace, the first of the three barriers were broken and we received a grim reminder that the Humans would not stop until all Creatures of the Forest lay dead.

You are Lin, a 17 year old Awoo girl that dreams of becoming the Strongest Guardian and assuming the mantle of the Hero that will save the Forest Realm and all those who live beneath the World Tree!

Last Time on Hero Guardian Quest: In Team 2’s attempt to complete their mission, a team member lost his life, causing a rift in the team. A month passed by behind the safety of the barrier, and while the rift between Lin and her Vice-Captain, Jin, was somewhat healed, they were soon thrust into the assault on the Main Human Encampment in the North. There Lin came face to face with the Grim Knight and fought the hardest battle in her life so far.
With victory came both cheers and respect, but also heavy questions with answers that now risks triggering a very real and deep-rooted fear among the Guardians...

The creaking and heavy sound of a closing oak door ruse you back to life from a dreamless sleep. Your muscles are sore after sleeping in a poorly makeshift bed and your mind is yet numb from the awakening, but you can still feel the iron shackles around your wrists. You’ve been sitting in this cell for three days and nights with shackles and chains holding you in place in a bed behind bars of Oakheart, the strongest and scarcest kind of wood in all forest realms. Except, of course, for whatever magical wood the World Tree is made out of.

Can’t very well cut that sacred Being down to contain a ‘brat’ like yours truly.

You awoke here a few days ago after passing out in the middle of the crowd’s cheering. The exhaustion of the fight and possibly the usage of your own new power must have hit you harder than you expected it to. No one has come to see you since you woke up in here, until now. There’s a wooden corner right outside your cell which must be connected to a small hallway leading to a door. The exit and entrance of this room. The same door that just opened and closed a few seconds ago.

The first face you spot coming around the corner leaves you…

The night deepens outside the windows of the Solathei estate, and soon only the faint silvery light of the moon and stars can be seen through the arched windows of the salon. Imala finds no difficulty in entertaining her guests, even with the language barrier stubbornly enduring between you. Weir et Taphrei, your translator, certainly seems to be enjoying himself. He fails often and miserably to disguise his eyes as they wander across Imala’s reclining figure, exploring the curves of her exposed legs as she lounges beside Kirari on a pile of cushions.

The young woman had an intoxicating charm, and she certainly knew how to use her physical beauty to disarm her guests. You can see why the Solahthei matron boasted about having no enemies, and having been in her company for a time you are now inclined to believe her. Though how long that might last if she threw her lot in with you was impossible to say; you realize soberly that Imala is taking a risk by placing her reputation alongside yours when talk of conspiracy and treachery fills the corridors of power in Tel Amarset. It occurs to you that it might be wrong to get her entangled in this mess, but without her, you don’t know how you can convince these people to trust you.

Kirari laughs as one of Imala’s jokes is explained to her through a mixture of half-drunken translation and body language, pulling you back from your reverie. You didn’t catch what they were talking about, but you smile anyway.

“At least you are a good sport about it,” Kirari says to him as she takes another sip of wine.

“A good sport about what?”

“You were the butt of that joke – that’s what you get for brooding silently like that and not paying attention,” she teases.

“Was it a good joke at least?”

“Very.”

The sergeant of your military “escort” peeks into the room from the entryway, waving Weir over for a muffled conversation.

“He ask if long you want stay,” Weir explains in broken Korathi. “Is...ehhh...dark. Evening. He will speak Saffoi if stay.”

Imala replies to him with her singsong voice. “Et halas talephet, Kora-thei cavere Solathei dora sen. Bahadurei cal reyyat.”

“She say, Korathi can stay here, in her home if Korathi like. Bahadurei fort is...ehhh...no good, she say.”

-------------------

>”No, when have imposed enough as it is.”
>”We wouldn’t refuse such as generous offer.”
>”We should return to the keep where it is safe.”
>”We can’t leave Kiyya there alone.”
>”I should go back, but Kirari can stay if she likes.”
>”I will accept her generous offer. I have more questions I’d like to ask of her.”

>Voting

Most posts will be narrative, with the player and QM working together to create a worthy story. Every post will provide at least one might-based, nobility-based, and artifice-based avenue if applicable to the situation, and write-ins are both permitted and encouraged. Players vote for their preferred option, with majority determining the final choice. However, in the case of especially critical events, called “trials,” fate will be given its due through the roll of dice.

>Trials

During trials, after the majority have chosen a course of action, the QM will then roll 1d10, add the player’s relevant Aspect (Might, Nobility, or Artifice), and add any relevant bonuses from items or context. If the resulting sum meets the trial’s threshold, the player succeeds. If the sum falls short of the threshold, the player fails. For each margin of 3 the player exceeds or fails the threshold by, the outcome will be more severe (either positive or negative). Poor rolls by players in combat trials are assigned as enemy hits.

The thresholds for each trial are known only by the QM, and are different for every option. Depending on the situation, one option or another will probably be easier than the others. Sneaking past the elite palace guard will be easier than fighting all of them. Killing the feral tribe of cannibals is probably easier than talking them down diplomatically. This could change, of course, if the player is particularly proficient with one Aspect and deficient in another. Perhaps your Artifice is so bad that Might is the better option for getting past those palace guard, after all. Players should consider which approach is most likely to succeed given both the context of the trial and the character’s own skillset.

>Criticals

A trial roll of 10 that passes the threshold is a critical success, and reaps additional benefits. Conversely, a 1 that fails the threshold is a critical failure, and has additional consequences. A 10 that fails to beat the threshold still fails, but the player receives some accommodation, insight, or unforeseen benefit in the attempt. Likewise, a 1 that passes the threshold succeeds, but with a minor hiccup or unforeseen complication.

>Damage

Damage dealt by an enemy is equal to half its Might score (rounding down), and is applied to a character’s weapons and armor first. Once all weapons and armor are damaged, excess damage is assigned to a random Aspect (M, N, or A) by rolling 1d3. That Aspect is permanently reduced by this damage until it is repurchased with XP. Should any Aspect reach 0, the character is crippled and incapacitated until 1 week of medical attention restores the first dot of each Aspect. If any Aspect falls below 0, the character suffers death.

Current XP: 11

On another note, I am accepting suggestions on alternatives for the current dice rolling system. I chose it because it is fairly simple and easy, but I'm not pleased with how little it lets players interact with the game. If anyone has seen a good system they would like to recommend, let me know.
