As the red sun dawned over Iti'a'Ropku to bath the city with it's ruddy light many of the cities Necromancers were already awake within their Spire. Many had been roused from their slumber in the dead of night while others already milled and waited outside the sealed doors to a ritual chamber. Drawn to the chamber they waited, sensing the roiling emanations of Necrotic force that would have quickly sickened any of the living not already tainted by the corruptive power even through the thick stone and chitin of the walls.

Necromancers Red-Leaf-Strains, Vekke, and the pale Sapling with blood red petals had waited the longest. The trio sit in comfortable silence as the Chitin Choir began to raise their voices from the soft whispers of the night prayers to the slowly increasing tempos of the daybreak hymns throughout Iti'a'Ropku, many in the city coming to use the morning prayers as an alarm clock. Vekke scoops up a pair of bone dice carved with eight faces and tosses them only to make a disappointed click of her mandibles as the Sapling's leaves twitch with amusement, a pale vine reaching out to pluck up and toss the dice as well in their small game to pass the time. Other pairs of the Necrotic trainees and Legion Necromancers spoke in hushed tones or occupied themselves with their own distractions.

Yet all look up as there was a groaning and hiss as the sealed doors broke their quasiphasic locks and began to slide open as those seated rose to their feet, those gathered beginning to cluster closer. Shadows gripped the interior of the ritual chamber beyond the sphere of light cast by the trio of braziers glowing with Necrotic flame set around a Cauldron.

From those shadows emerged a figure, several of those in the group taking hesitant steps back at the sight and sense of potent Necrotic force that emanated from the humanoid. Grasped in their hand was a tall staff, the petrified skull of the original Talon perched atop the column of bone, a ribcage of short, sharp bones flexing almost as if it were a mobile undead. Six eyes peer out from the skull-like helm that looks across those gathered with a rictus grin of teeth, the medium exoarmor they wore refashioned with the corpse of the slain Immortal. Reaching up they press under the chin of their helm and the bone splits apart and slides back to become something of a decorative crest around their collar bone to reveal the Jor's tired but smiling face.

There was a scattering of greetings and breaths of relief as instinctual fear faded as the First Necromancer revealed himself. Where he had entered the chamber with the Caretaker and the remains of the Immortal he had slain in combat, Jor emerged alone armored and equipped with mighty new tools of his craft.

Holding his staff aloft it erupts into green Necrotic flame as he draws their attention and grants his newly soulbound weapon a title befitting it's nature.

Hanging still in the velvet night sky is a planet, of awesome size, lit by no sun, looming in the darkness. An invisible titan, covered in thick black forests, tall jagged mountains, and deep turbulent oceans. So desolate. And so impossibly, terrifyingly dark.

You are on the surface of this strange world, standing in a dark, alien jungle. Quaking with fear, a deathly cold wind snaps through the tall vegetation. All around you in the dark, gray, starlit forest are strange, fern-like growths. As tall as a man, but rather than leafy green, they are a sickly grey-white, stiff and almost bony in appearance, like flattened spinal columns, but with glistening, bulbous heads, growing from the ground.

They sway in the wind, rustling against one another with a disquieting murmur.

Something in them moves against the wind, you see the pattern of movement in the undergrowth creeping toward where you stand, frozen in fear.

A wet, black shape inches toward you, second by second, as you watch, transfixed, before it explodes toward you in a sudden burst of movement.

"That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die."

Alien: Eternal Lie is a survival horror quest where the players, as Captain Bannon, will have to guide the crew of the USCSS Melita through an unfolding nightmare in space.

I allow between ten and twenty minutes for voting and may break a tie with a dice roll.

I always try to incorporate (and encourage) write-ins if they don't violate the spirit of voted decisions, though I may edit or tweak them to fit better.

You bolt up in panic, heart hammering, drenched in sweat. Above you, you see only the sparse ceiling of your quarters.

You exhale your breath in a long sigh. You're safe aboard the ship, waking up from a nightmare.

Again.

These sorts of twisted dreams had been plaguing you ever since you were awoken by the ship's computer two days prior. Right now, you are not in a dark, alien jungle about to be preyed upon, you are still aboard Melita, a long-range colonial survey ship in low orbit of CS-759, as you have been for the past two days. Soaring silently high above the world that was the target of Melita's myriad of sensors. You told yourself it was just hypersleep sickness, or perhaps your mind's way of rebelling against the dull, monotony since you and the crew were awoken, having reached your destination.

The first day was spent on final approach to the planet, and the second spent in an ever shifting orbit as radar mapping, and spectrographic sensors swept the planet below.

It was some small comfort to you that the Stygian world you dreamed of did not match the planet you orbited in the slightest. CS-759 was a bleak, lifeless ball of silica, wrapped in an unending sandstorm and cloaked in carbon dioxide.

A glance at your watch shows you that it's just past 8 am shipboard time, around time the organic crew wakes and takes over for the shipboard systems. The ship is scheduled to change orbital inclination this morning and beginning a new mapping pattern near the poles of CS-759.

The reality of the job at hand soon begins to erode away the strange nightmare that overcame you. You get out of bed, alone in your quarters, a Spartan cot, a handful of personal affects, and elements related to your job. Work schedule, company briefings in hard copy and of course various manifests and logs. Nightmares or not, this world wasn’t going to survey itself, and if no significant deposits of value were found- well, there goes your bonus shares.

Sitting up on the squeaking, flat cot that was your bed, you scoop up a half-crumpled pack of cigarettes, Balaji Imperials, and your lighter. You pull on your crew jacket, emblazoned with your ship's name and of course the Broadmoore logo then tug on your boots, dark with oil stains. As you dress, the day's schedule returns to your memory, pushing out that dank, dark jungle of your dreams.

Currently, Melita should be in an easy, standard equatorial orbit, something simple that automated systems can handle with a minimum of human involvement, but the first order of business is to transfer the ship to a polar orbit, crossing over the "top" of the planet you circle. This process will be begun by the early-shift crew as soon as possible, but right now, you don't feel any telltale vibration of the ship's thrusters firing to realign it.

Something to look into, you suppose.

Exiting your quarters on B Deck, you draw a cigarette and light it, tobacco smoke mixing with stale, recycled air. The ladderway is right beside your quarters, you take it up to the common room, picking up the warm coffee pot and pouring a mug with one hand as you hold the cigarette with your other.

The common room is a combination lounge and mess hall, a typical feature on most long-haul colonial ships. Melita's common room is centered around a large circular table, to either side are small nooks with additional seating and small view ports, one side shows the inky blackness of space, while the other is entirely filled with the bland redness of CS-759.

Also here is Redding, she is nursing a mug of coffee as well as a bowl of cereal, she spares you a look and continues to eat. As astrogator, her duties are fairly light as long as the ship remains in a constant orbit. Her dour attitude may be because you and the rest of the crew were revived from hypersleep only two days ago. Usually this was enough to "wake up" but even so, some of the lingering effects like fatigue and nausea may not have worn off completely. This was typically chalked up as "hypersleep sickness", but it could just as easily be chronic exhaustion from working so hard out beyond the frontier.

"Morning, Captain," a male voice says. You see Van Leuen, your executive officer enter the Common Room from the ladderway you came from. He holds a clipboard which he is skimming through, "I was just coming to find you, I know it's early, but I wanted to bring you up to speed with last night's survey results." he pauses to look at Redding, and back to you, "If this is a good time."

>Absolutely. What have you got for me?
>Don't have much of a choice. What's up?
>Can't this shit wait five minutes until I've had my coffee?

You are Lieutenant Matsumoto Rangiku, daughter of Captain Kusajishi Riku and the second in command of her Ninth Division. Although if you're being totally honest it's more like you and the Commandos run the Division, while it's your mother's job to manage you and the Commandos. That means backing you up in combat, dealing with the Central 46 and the Royal Guard, with gods and arrancars.

Meanwhile, you're left to deal with her houseguest.

“That was rather good, for what you called 'just' leftovers,” Kasumiōji Rurichiyo compliments you. “The meal must have been spectacular if you consider this... diminished.”

“Well, Yo... Captain Shihōin, that is, she was the one who made it,” you tell her. “One of her hobbies.”

“One?” Rurichiyo asks inquisitively. “She has more than one hobby? Is she this good at all of them?”

“Well, she's a noblewoman,” you shrug. “You know how it is, they expect you to know how to do a lit of different 'refined' things. She learned Chinese cooking because she wanted one of her hobbies to actually be useful.”

“Who is 'they'?” Rurichiyo asks you.

“Other noblewomen,” you clarify, sealing a container of fried rice and taking it over to the refrigerator. “Even the ones who serve in the Gotei 13 make it a point to quibble like bored housewives, like it's instinctive.”

Inside the refrigerator however there's a problem: the space you cleared suddenly has something there. It's a glowing orange box, which would have been strange enough were it not for the fact that your mother's hand is inside it.

“The Kasumiōji retainer sent some assassins after Rurichiyo,” she reports directly to your mind using kidō. “Fifty of them to be precise, all wielding those bakkotō. Yoruichi and I will be cleaning up around here, so we'll have to leave you in charge.”

“Be careful, some of these may have unique powers like our own zanpakuto do. Treat them with caution.”

So she must be just out of range of her Tenteikūra, and unable to get to her denreishinki or else in a position where she doesn't want to make any noise... instead she's had the bright idea to sever her own hand by placing a kidō barrier around it and teleporting the barrier to effectively extend her range of contact.

Insane... but it seems to have worked.

“Is there something the matter?” Rurichiyo chirps.

You immediately shut the door to the refrigerator to prevent her from accidentally seeing your Captain's severed hand inside... you're not entirely sure you can explain that in such a way that she won't freak out, and you're also not sure you want her knowing that there are assassins after her life for the second time in twenty-four hours.

“It's cold in here, so I'm recalling my hand now,” Riku's voice informs you. “See you in a bit, sweetie.”

“No space,” you tell her truthfully. “I'll work something out, why don't you go sit outside in the reception room with Kenryū and Enryū while I sort things in here?”

“Okay?”

Rurichiyo wasn't born yesterday of course, so she remains skeptical of your hasty explanation.

“No?” you ask hopefully.

>Tell her you just heard from Riku about her progress, don't go into details.
>Admit that Riku just told you there were assassins after her again, and you need to organize a defense.
>Don't tell her anything, panicking her now will only cause problems.

"STAND DOWN!" You roar at the top of your lungs, flickers of red energy manifesting and disapearing at the edges of your vision.

The bandits' charge is stopped by your voice, the tide of men halting as suddenly as if their feet had become stuck in mud.

"So, this lady is the one keeping you is she?" The stranger hums to himself. You're not really sure if you're supposed to be hearing this, "Doesn't look the sort to listen to reason, but let's try anyway."

"She's uh... very possesive." You offer, causing him to let out a nervous laugh and run his hand through his long white hair.

"Was I speaking out loud again?" He grins widely and you wouldn't be a woman if your heart didn't skip a beat over his kind face, "Well I'm afraid my Mother won't accept anything less than sucess with this."

You are tempted to frown but you keep your face as expressionless as possible, this stranger seems trustworthy - but Kokatsuna isn't exactly reasonable.

You're so damn tired, but there's no time for rest.

"I'll take another." You mumble to the man at the counter.

He looks at you warily, "I think you've had enough, sonny."

You lock eyes with the man, but say nothing. A few moments pass before he sighs, takes your mug, and fills it up again with the cheapest, blackest brew this side of the Factory.
Your lifeblood, you think, as you choke down another swallow.

You feel woozy, but then you've only gotten eight hours of sleep the past six days, so that's to be expected. Nothing you can't handle. You're used to it by this point.

You stare at your reflection in the dark liquid in your cup. It's been 4 days since you had time to shower in-between shifts. Your hair is all greasy and unkempt, your eyes are bloodshot, sunken in and ringed with dark circles. You really should try to get more sleep, but there's simply not enough time in the day.

"You sure you're gonna be okay, sonny?" The Barrista asks, concern obvious in his tone.

"I'm just tired," you manage, taking another swig of your coffee and relishing the sensation of the caffeine rushing to your brain.

"Work?"

"Ya got that right." You grumble. You work as-

>An engineer at the Factory, the largest superbuilding in the city. You're constantly repairing stuff, and generally making sure nothing explodes or catches on fire. (Decent Physical Ability, Good Mental Ability, Gain Trait: Tinkerer)

>A courier, delivering packages all over the city. Sometimes these get delivered to some very shady locales and people, but you try not to ask too many questions. Curiosity is dangerous. (Good Physical Ability, Decent Mental Ability, Gain Trait: Improved Endurance)

>A Mancatcher at the Farm, the large mental institution (or prison) located at the city's center. Your job is to round up all the nutters (or general undesirables) on the streets every week, or bring them back. (Great Physical Ability, Weak Mental Ability, Gain Trait: Increased Mental Resistance)

>A petty criminal. You may take the occasional odd job here or there, but crime is the only way you've ever been able to make ends meet. (Decent Physical Ability, Decent Mental Ability, Gain Trait: Locksmith, Gain Trait: Pickpocket)

___

Before we start, here's a quick rundown.

Physical Ability=How well you can perform a physically demanding task. Climbing, lifting, brawling, whatever. This can improve over time.

Mental Ability=Governs your overall intelligence, as well as any potential mental abilities you receive later. This can improve over time.

Traits=Abilities you have that give bonuses on certain actions, or will allow you to perform certain actions you otherwise could not. You will gain more over time.

This is my first quest on here, so hopefully anyone who drops in will have a fun time.

The hunters are now currently heading through the fifth floor of the castle.

Each character needs at least 1 player to be the voices in their head to tell them what to do n' shit.

Just name yourself something with the highlighted title under the character to identify which team you're going with. Example: Regular Hunter Faggot -> Controls Oswell the regular Hunter

Need at least 1 player for each dude, DOESN'T mean each character is limited to 1 player.

The more players each character has, the more rerolls that team gets.

THE SHITTIEST QUEST ON THE BOARD THAT HAS JUMPED THE SHARK AND NUKED THE FRIDGE SO MUCH YOU CAN MAKE A DRINKING GAME OUT OF IT
. The year is 2018, your supposed last year in school, that is until last night. You think to yourself, clutching to your beanie:
>Is this over?
>Will I get to Vancouver?
>What if the meet failed?
>I have never been scared by men on horseback, why these guys?
You open your eyes to see you are pulling over onto the side of a road, just into Canada, while you have decided to pull over for the several mounties with rocket launchers, you still haven't decided if you want to open the hatch and approach it like the last pullover or not.

Your people had lived in the lands of Loffar for generations. The people of Loffar worshiped the great sea serpent Resplendent Wave, offering her many gifts in exchange for immense magical powers. Yet the people of Loffar turned against Wave when she tried to share her divine powers with people outside of Loffar. The Loffarians rose against Wave and chased her off the wholr continent, only you, her most dedicated children never left her side. You ran with her on her exile and she lead you to the fertile valley of this new and foreign continent. Then she left you, promising to return one day and bring you salvation. A year has passed since her departure and a new dawn for our people, the tribe of Wave.

Five years ago, the warrior race known as the Saiyans were annexed into Emperor Freeza's armies. Since that day, the Saiyans have acted as the emperor's loyal servents, sent first onto dozens of worlds, exterminating all who oppose Lord Freeza's rule. As mighty conquerors, destroying all who have stood against them, the Saiyans quickly made a name for themselves as some of Freeza's most powerful and loyal subjects.

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest, currently Age 736 of the "canon" timeline. You the players, having survived past your "canon" death, are changing history. From here forward your actions may even change the fate of the universe itself.

You are Karn, a Saiyan Brawler with a powerlevel of 21971 and leader of your own attack squadron. Your current teammates are:
Prince Vegeta, Blaster, 22528
Meloka, Blaster, 12438
Tunnip, Blaster, 8411
General Nappa, Brawler, 10017
Android, Pilot, n/a

Character Sheet: https://pastebin.com/iPAJeGJn

Quest rules:
>15 minute vote times or first vote to 3 wins, any ties decided by my roll
>first 3 rolls only, best of the 3 wins
>Crits are 100, unless otherwise stated
>Crit fails (1) will count ONLY if no roll passes DC
>I hold final say on any decisions; write-ins are both allowed and encouraged but will be shut down if too meta or game-breaking.

Quest will usually start every Saturday between 7-9am EST, and run through the entire weekend. Also for updates or schedule changed follow me on twitter @GrandDragonQM

Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:
Karn and his new team of faces new and old went on their next mission, and came face-to-face with Dr. Nefarious for the first time. During the fight, Prince Vegeta was nearly killed and Nappa and Meloka were wounded by the new warships. But this pushed Karn over the edge. He ascended, and truly became the Super Saiyan. With this newfound power, Karn was able to annihilate the ships and save his friends, but Dr. Nefarious escaped. Returning to Freeza Planet 79, they learned from Cui that Nefarious had escaped to Planet Dun. We rejoin our team shortly after this revelation, as they're leaving the Operations Deck.

"This Aku guy's gotta be strong if he can put up a barrier over the entire planet, right?" young Prince Vegeta asks, as the door to the Operations Deck of the base on Freeza Planet 79 shuts behind your team.
"Maybe." General Nappa replies to him, popping his neck. "Or maybe he has his own fleet of ships, or has some other means of isolating the planet. Regardless, this is good news for us, right Karn?"

But you don't hear your friend. Lost in your own thoughts, you can see Nefarious' laughing robotic face, cackling madly as your team is taken apart again. You clench your fists; this asshole isn't going to get away from you again. You're going to destroy him for what he's done.

"Karn? Hey you ok?" Nappa asks, slapping you on the back and breaking you out of your thoughts.
"Yeah yeah I'm fine. Its just, I'm just worried." you tell your team. "You guys almost didn't make it through the last fight. I can't protect you a-"
You're interrupted by Meloka floating up to head level and punching you hard in the jaw, staggering you. Stunned, you turn to her.
"Oh cut the bullshit!" she shouts angrily. "Just because you're the Super Saiyan doesn't mean you can just look down on us all like we're helpless! You and me, right now, let's go!"
Well, what do you do?
>Try to talk and calm her down

You're gonna just let this one happen. It's been a long night for everybody, and these guys seem like total assholes. One of the poor bastard's friends looks at you, and you move your coat to show him Bifrost's hilt. He takes a step back and holds his hands up.

"We're looking for the punks who keep putting up the Wonderland tags. You know 'em?"

"No," the cripple-to-be says. He yelps when the Rook digs the gun in. "Not personally!" he clarifies. "We see 'em around! Teens and kids and shit! They talk to other kids, street punks and shit!"

"Where do they go?" the Rook demands.

"I don't know! I don't - don't cock the gun please!"

"Anyone else not know?" the Rook rasps. "Where do they meet? Where do they come from? Is it the subways?"

"No," one of the bystanders speaks up. "Not the subways. The kids doing the tagging, they show up on foot and leave that way. It's gotta be close, right?"

"Sound logic," the Rook agrees. His victim makes a motion, and the flintlock points up instantly. "Do that again and you die," the Wizened warns. "Hands on the wall."

Every pair of hands but yours finds a wall.

"Any gangs around here use a heart for their symbol?" the Rook asks. The barrel of his weapon goes back down against his victim's knee.

"Nosir," the dock worker says instantly. "Not that I ever heard of, sir."

"Very good." The Rook lets out a ragged cough and spits onto the concrete of the alley. "You still get your cigarettes from Maggie?"

"How'd you know?" one of them asks, in disbelief.

"I know a lot. Are you or aren't you?"

"Yessir," the man whose knee is on the line says before anyone else can say something stupid.

"Listen carefully," the Rook advises. "All of you have heard fairy tales before. The forms change, but the message is the same. The polite sister is rewarded; the rude one is hounded to death. The humble woodcutter lives, while his greedy wife is devoured by demons. Tonight you made the wrong decision in this story, and earned a terrible fate."

The Rook uncocks the flintlock and steps back. He lets go of the pistol, which dissolves into a spray of Autumn leaves.

"But this isn't a fairy story," the Wizened rasps. "Not entirely. Go home to your families and tell them to be polite to the Hidden People."

The dock workers take a look at the Rook, then at you, and then they scramble off in a mad dash to get as far from the small man as possible.

"Maggie?" you ask, after a moment.

"The Magpie. One of yours, actually."

"Yes! She's one of the local Satraps. She sells illegal cigarettes?"

"The Magpie of the Old Docks sells a lot of things," the Rook says with a shrug. "She might be able to tell us what these taggers are trading, but you know her ilk. We'll have to buy the information."

"Or we can stake the place out," you finish, thoughtfully.

You don't HAVE to read King of New Avalon, Scarred by Thorns, or July at Christmas, but you might want to; they help establish New Avalon and introduce the world of Changeling: the Lost. I started back up earlier this month. This is the quest DLQ was meant as practice for.

And now I'm gonna crawl into bed and die. Votes, obviously, remain open.

Questions, comments, discussion, feedback, and criticisms remain welcome and appreciated.

Thank you all for reading and participating!

My name is Andy Talbert. Ever since one fateful day I got caught up in a holy grail war, a war between maguses for a wish. My servant is the Red Assassin. Last night we got ambushed by two blue masters.

Later that night we discovered my Origin, which is apparently seasons. We also planned to go gather some info on the green assassin. Me and a fellow Red master decided to split up and look for clues.

“I’m gonna head down to the residential district.” She nods in response, “I’ll get going, Guess I’ll check down town”

I was walking through the neighborhood when Assassin comes up to me “I’m gonna sneak into these houses see if I can find any traces craft, you keep doing you.”

I kept walking and occasionally waved to joggers or people walking, seeing if they had command seals.

After doing that for a bit I decided to go…..

Welcome to Another Dragon Ball Quest ™ , a quest all about a young kid in the world of Dragon Ball and their involvement in many of the series iconic events. From Radditz to Beerus, there's no telling how far you'll go, or at least how long you can last till you get sent to another dimension!
>How do we play?
This quest functions like any other, options on what to do are brought up, using A,B,C,D, etc, and everyone of YOU votes on what you'd like the character to do. Write-In's are encouraged!
Also, we will be using a system I've seen SOM(Another great DBZ Quest Maker) use recently. For easy tasks, such as fighting normal humans or doing mundane chores, you'll roll a d20, for normal tasks such as fighting opponents who are of equal or slightly higher strength, or trying to pull off more difficult moves, you'll roll a d50, and for hard tasks, like fighting people who are much stronger than you, or fighting multiple opponents at once that have an equal strength to you, you'll roll a d100.
>Do you use Bo3 or Bo5?
Neither, I find that Best of 3 is too cruel sometimes, and that Best of 5 is too lenient. So we'll be doing a Best of 4. That means the first 4 rolls are the only ones that count, and that the highest number rolled will be the one used.
>So what kind of character will we be able to make?
You'll be playing as a young, non-human child around the same age as Gohan was at the beginning of DBZ.
>Wait, we don't get to decide if we want to play a regular human or a dog president?
Not exactly, while you'll be deciding some backstory traits and how you'll be starting this adventure off, I've realized that my limitations as a QM mean I have a hard time working with a completely group created character, so think of this as me throwing you a template that you can mess around with.
>How do we get stronger? We have to fight Raditz one on one with our eyes closed!
Increasing your Power Level is simple. Every once and a while I'll have you roll a d50, and the higher you roll the higher your power increases. For instance, rolling a 1-9 means you only increased your power by ten, while rolling a 40-49 means you increased your power by 80, and a solid 50 woul've increased it by 160. So basically it doubles each tier.
>Are we a boy or a girl?
Girl
>Are you sticking completely to cannon or can we change things?
Your actions affect the world, who's the say whether or not Vegeta leaves Earth alive like in the manga, or if Chaouzu ends up the strongest Earthling. Anything can happen.

A loud roar echoes through the fighting ring as you and Yamcha stare down at Goro, the massive four armed monster casually flexing his arms while basking in the praise of the audience, their chants only fueling his nepotism. "Th-that guy just destroyed the other dude." Yamcha says in a hushed whisper, as if he can't quite believe it himself. "What kind of sick place lets people murder each other like this for fun?"

"It's not exactly that different from certain human sports," Alopex cuts in. "How many of your athletes are injured or worse year after year for the enjoyment of those watching them?"

"That's different," Yamcha says, a bit of heat to his voice. "They're not out to actually kill each other."

"Aren't they? Seems to me the only difference between here and the topside is that nobody's fooling themselves into thinking otherwise." Alopex sighs, her fluffy white tail swishing from side to side a bit. Boy you wish you could hug that tail. "Besides, it's not like Goro's opponent is truly gone. He was an Otherworlder just like most everyone else here, his death just means he had to go back."

>A. "It was still pretty horrible miss Alopex."
>B. "Yeah, but Yamcha's not an Otherworlder, so what'll happen to him?"
>C. "This Goro guy seems REALLY strong, just who is he?"
>D. "Welp, good luck mister Yamcha!"
>E. "Do we get a prize if you beat this Goro person?"
>F. Write-in.

You duck behind a tree to try and catch your breath. You thought she was your friend, but Ruby was merciless. As if some horrible, alien intelligence had taken her body and she sat screaming behind her own eyes, helpless to stop her hands as they moved in for the kill. You poke your head around the trunk to catch sight of her, but a flash of red is all you see before a high caliber round digs into the bark and you’re forced to duck again.

It had only been a few days since your argument with Blake, and Ruby had changed so quickly from an excitable little girl into the monster that haunted you now. You weren’t sure what to expect when she invited you here, but this wasn’t it.

Another flash and she’s swept in front of you. The sniper rifle levels towards your head, and she pulls the trigger. You can barely make out the ground rushing up to meet your ruined eyes before it’s washed away in a sea of blood. The blood pools and shifts, eventually forming into words: “YOU DIED”

“Man, speed power ups are cheap.” That’s the third time in a row she’s killed you this match. “They are not!” Ruby protests, “Do you have any idea how hard it is to aim when you’re going that fast?”

“That’s not a problem when you stop dead to line up a shot!” This is why you insisted on no power ups, but “My Room My Rules” trumped any logical debates you put forward. Ruby gives you nothing but a smug grin and a laugh, but the expression settles into something more genuine.

“Thanks for coming over, Whitaker. Yang only likes fighting games, Jaune’s TERRIBLE, and Ellie’s never here.”

“Ellie? Liquorice?” It’s the only person she could be talking about, and she nods, “Yeah, Yang started calling her that, cause of her letter on the team, and it seems to have stuck.” Ruby stalls a bit after bringing up her team. She doesn’t seem as happy as she had been only a second ago. Did something happen in RYAL?

>A) Stay out of it. It’s not your team, it’s not your responsibility.
>B) Prod for details, but don't tip your hand. “Where are they, anyway?”
>C) Come out and say it. “Do you want to talk about it, Ruby?”

The Raiders – Part 24

While most Lairs are relatively small and easily defensible, this is more like a stronghold than a Lair, and carving your place into it was much easier than you'd expected. Despite a late arrival in this material world, you managed to wrest a choice location in the Lair for you and your cadre, create a good number of holding cells for your slaves (though now that you consider it you're going to probably need to make things slightly more comfortable than bare rock....if only to prevent bruising), and have made a tenuous alliance with a nearby cadre for added security. The Leader of that cadre, Joerno, is fairly charming, and has a healthy respect for you, but he is also fiercely intelligent, in addition to being a potent warrior.

Which isn't exactly heartening because you have all the time in the world to consider in what ways me might be driven to betray you.

Fortunately, you have the distraction of a worried murderer to deal with, one whom is easily distracted herself. As Falna and Schechei erect the opulent and gorgeous tent that will serve as a home away from home, Yashi crafts illusion, fog, spell, and ward to defend your part of the Lair from others who might consider it much easier to collect slaves from you than to collect their own. Auena and Kteine are stalking the area and discussing the necessary supplies, beds, and other accouterments that would provide for the slaves that you and your cadre already own being present to take care of things while you and your Cadre are out collecting more. The gallery that you have taken is large and there is plenty of room for both homemaking and more expansions as needed. Yzia is delicately accosting the supreme Leader's dragon concerning her clever replacement by the Holder of the Compact, who has some kind of vested interest in Yzia and in some respects, yourself.

You should probably get around to telling Yzia you learned one of Jacinth's names sometime. Later perhaps. Tzanzi is breathing heavily as you run your hands over her bosom, armored though it is. “Do not tell me you are concerned for my well being – you are most likely the greatest threat to that currently.” A little white lie of sorts; Tzanzi is usually the greatest threat to your well being outside yourself, though Yashi might come a close second. Just because Yashi will apparently follow you into the Hells doesn't mean she won't set you up for fights and assassination.

“No, I don't think so,” she murmurs into your hair, before inhaling deeply through her nose, taking in your scent. The atavistic shiver is unstoppable; the sense of a mouth so close to your precious brains is so deeply ingrained into your entire race that you cannot help even now being aware of the threat. Does not help that Tzanzi bites anyways, of course. “I am much more concerned about Falna, and this unsteady new alliance you have forged. This is a large cadre, Akko, and I do not think it is entirely stable.”

You look up at Tzanzi, your arms about her neck as Auena and Kteine join Falna and Schechei in the large silk and satin tent, their voices soft. The sound of the Lair is muted as a shifting mist surrounds the gallery, Yashi's efforts to secure the Lair taking effect. With a sigh you push yourself up on your toes and kiss the warrior again, slow and deep, tracing the sharp spurs with your tongue, including the broken one she refused to let you heal magically.

[] Honestly, would any cadre I put together be stable?
[] I know of at at least one githyanki who is willing to try and replace Falna....
[] Do tell, and stop using those damn claws or I'm going to make you take Yzia's place.
[] Tell me about Joerno then, you probably know of him already to be this concerned.
[] Oh ye of little faith, if I'd wanted a stable cadre I would have formed one.
[] Write in?
Siobhan is curious now too, and would be very interested in having a tête-à-tête with Tzanzi to discuss how they'll fix your – oh sorry, Yzia's – cadre.
