Future civ thread! pick a nation we can play as and we will start out.

Story:
The year is 2030. After Europe was split between the United states of Europe and the Eurasian Union in 2025, a massive civil war destroyed the continent. Neutral and non USE or EUU states were attacked. Turkey had a second coup and fell to shit in 2018. We are in the new Europe, with no established EU as of yet. We can claim any red nation, and restore freiheit, ФЯ БЯIИG КФMMЦИISM TФ MIGHTУ ЭЦЯФPД, ЖДЖДЖД!

We will end after 5 votes (excluding mine)
You can vote for three countries.
I will provide any explanation within reason.

----

You have been forced to abandon your old life.

Yet what your old life was, you are struggling to remember, as your memory burns away at the edges like a parchment held too close to the candle flame.

Once again, you have to wander, to reinforce your identity and stop it from fading away entirely, before you plunge onwards into the depths of this labyrinth you have been locked away in.

What is your name? Are you a man or a woman? And what is your profession?

>Casteless
>Soldier
>Hunter
>Spellthief

But in the grander scheme of things, it is all about what you are to become, rather than what you were.

(Further details can be found on the classes in the pastebin.)

Yes, yes...your name, Tudhaliyas, the spellthief. Not much of a title, nobody's denying that. Maybe that will change.

You were tossed down here with quite a struggle, they were afraid of your magic and its bite. But at least they didn't kill you.

Fortunately, (at least for you) the remains of a poor being are slumped over on the wall. Only bones remained, so they must have been here for a long time. An empty waterskin lays there, along with a few scraps of clothing, where the rest has been torn away.

There's little to be seen here. The air is warm, and the stone around you is finely carved, smooth, so smooth that when you rest your hand on the well, it is cool and pleasant to the touch.

There is only one exit, ignoring the stone door that was closed behind you, and it is an open doorway, with the shattered remains door hanging limply from its hinges.

(Archive of the first thread, It'd probably be best to understand this thread by reading that one first: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/436775/)
This tribe was born, children of the father god Magnan, ion a small jungle clearing. For a few years, all was well, as farmers and smiths began to appear. That was when the first blight came, when the people were afflicted by addiction, by failure, and by the constant wrath of the gods. This continued for months, until the people were saved from their affliction by an old Huntsman named Assur, who, by his will, held the tribe together long enough to stabilize life once more. The next twenty five years were prosperous and rich, as the heirs of Assur (A Dryad named Celia, a Huntsman named Elias, and the inventor of smelting, Mankar) stewarded the tribe through a time of peace and plenty.

But even after their work, it all began to fall apart. Magnan's wrath fell on the tribe first in the form of a rampaging elephant, and then with the slaves of the people turning against them and burning them in their homes, incinerating the entire clearing, all of your civilization asides thirty or fourty scattered refugees. Celia died, burned to charcoal, Elias burned in his bed, and Mankar threw himself upon the flame. The scattered refugees fled south, meeting in a small shanty town on the riverside, guarded by the only remaining warrior, the man that slew the elephant, Ajax, the bulwark.

The people have decided that they must go on an exodus, that they must escape the rage of Magnan, with their old gods disgraced, their Saviours, the Divine Assur is the people's god, and the great warrior god has told the people to flee and to rebuild, to be "reborn in iron". Ajax has had the people collect their meager possessions, and now it must be decided where the exodus shall be directed. Your people know nothing of the world's geography, asides that the river they dwell beside runs on for days in either direction, flowing west.

The jungle burns, and the Ape Men, former slaves, still swarm hungrily north of the river.

Where shall the people flee?
>Along the River, East?
>Along the River, West? As Assur directed you?
>South, through the mushroom swamps?
>North, through the old village, and through the monstrous apes?

Ajax rallies the people, reminding them all of Assur's direction, to go to where the sun dies to be reborn. It is decided that the people will travel along the river, as they have never done before, and work begins on the vessels. Severeal trees are felled, and sawn into planks as quickly as the people can work. After a week or so of squalor, the tribe is eager to return to work, your people ever focused on construction and artistry in work. In the end, there are only two boats, long galleys, driven by rowing, with one deck and one large cabin on each, to act as barracks and store-rooms. Ajax heads the small fleet, and as your people lack any children, all can row.

The crafts travel quickly downstream, through the endless jungle, your people feeding themselves with simple fishing, eating the large, cumbersome river fish roasted and unadorned, and drinking only from the river. Life is unpleasant and hard, as hours are spent rowing, fishing, or sleeping, with no-one able to rest for any tangible amount of time. The jungle thins and shifts occasionally, turning to birch, oak, or sometimes marsh, and the sounds of the familiar jungle shift with them, the shrill shrieks of Mandrill packs replaced by roars and barks. After a few more weeks, a small range of strange, stone figures loom in the distance, something your people have never seen, Mountains.

As you travel, the trees thin further, and your people are amazed to see a land completely without trees, swarming with massive animals, elephants and troupes of apes, the Savanaah. They come to a stop for a short while in this rich land, establishing a small camp, eating the common fruits of the area, scaring off the beasts with fire. The land is fertile and rich, as the river flows, but it seems to lack much ore of any kind. The beasts are many and huge, some seeming docile, others less so.

>Shall you make camp here, in this alien Savanaah?
>Or Shall you continue along the river, which seems to pass alongside the upcoming mountains.
>>
I have to pop out to buy camping equipment, I'll be back ASAP.

So, anons, last time we left off we got shot, we defused a hostage situation for our new pe- I mean, family member, turned our old pet into a werewolf, and invited our family over. Which should be highly entertaining. Oh, and Kutyvoka apparently because of her human diet while she was human, is apparently tougher and stronger because of it because of her werewolf upgrade.
Oh, and the contractor came over, which he were forced to escort out of harms way.

"Come on Stojan, just a little nibble!"

"No! I need this man to make my toilet bigger and have a awesome bath!"

"Please?"

"It's too late anyways, he's gone."

You hear the door open behind you, and Ivanka walks in, conveniently timed.

"...Why is the pet a werewolf now?"

"Uh... She's more adorable as one. Look, I can belly rub her and she'll flop to the floor!"

You begin to rub her and she starts laughing.

"...Da, very good comrade. If you need me, I will be taking nap."

"Right."

An hour passes of you generally talking and giving belly rubs and scratches to the family, until the doorbell rings again. You get up and answer it. In front of you, is the neighbors. The entire fucking family of them... It nearly makes your blood boil.

You force yourself to smile, the human male, no doubt the leader of this humanarchy extends his hand in a handshake.

"Neighbor! We haven't properly met yet, so I was wondering if we could get this out of the way?"

"...Why?"

"Well, seeing as you can literally see over our fence, I thought it might be a good thing to introduce ourselves so our children don't get eaten, or worse... Bear hugged!" He laughs.

Actions.

>...Shut the door in their human faces.

>That may or may not happen.

You are Irue Valen, blood heir to House Valen and currently the mayor of a relatively obscure township nestled near the eastern border of La'Fiel. The past half a year or so of your life has been... Hectic. It saw you thrown unceremoniously from your reclusive lifestyle and into the frustratingly complicated politics of the country your noble House made its home within. Since then, you had gradually come to learn of La'Fiel's volatile climate, and the way that the current royal family had seemingly become intent on driving their own lands to flame out of... Greed? Paranoia?

From where you stood, there simply wasn't a good reason for it. You wondered if anyone could be brought face to face with the people who had been dispossessed and still find a way to say that anything justified the misery it had brought about. Inadvertently you had found yourself forced to look those same people in the eye not long ago when they came for answers, and even though you had found a tentative solution in recruiting them as your knights, it had left you with a burgeoning feeling that if this was what the Crown would do to prevent an imaginary rebellion... Then perhaps they deserved to have one.

These were, of course, thoughts too dangerous to vocalize; Your aunt and uncle had taken great measures to maintain the strenuously peaceful status quo between royal and nobles. While the benefit to that was lost to you, owing likely to a lingering ignorance of the full scope of their plans and circumstances... You at least had other more personally pressing matters to attend to before you would dare to get involved in the game that your aunt had seemed so keen to keep you out of.

The same, however, could not be said of your dear cousin and childhood friend, Caylen. Ever one with justice and morals on his mind, you had bore witness to the way the Crown's actions rankled within him... And now, likely thanks to the insufferable woman he had taken to keeping by his side, that good intentioned idiot had set out on a course of action that might very well unravel everything your aunt and uncle had worked to maintain; Providing the proverbial spark that would be needed to set the country ablaze.

...But this was not your concern. Not yet, anyway. Given the choice between aiding the country and helping the people directly before you, you hadn't so much as hesitated to leave matters to your aunt and uncle. They would handle Caylen's actions, like they had handled everything else thus far. In the meantime, your hands were tied with decidedly more direct and ambiguous concerns.

Ari, your frailest and least troublesome Testament, had wound up kidnapped. Or perhaps spirited away would be a better term? While that on its own would have been enough to stir you into action, the context around its occurrence only made matters more confusing.

You had, admittedly, been one to indulge in drinking for relaxation before. That did not, however, explain nearly a month's worth of drunken escapades. Nor did it help that upon further research, it seemed as if the 'drink of choice' was less an alcohol as it was some form of potion concocted to gradually purge the imbiber of their residual mana - An action which had much the same side effects that one would attribute to a hangover. Regardless of whether it was or wasn't alcoholic in nature, the end result was effectively the same... And you were left to draw blanks on the pieces of the puzzle left before you.

It seemed clear to you now that the entire month's antics had been purposefully facilitated... And that's where your understanding regretfully stopped. From reports, you had gathered that the ones supplying the Faedka had likely been wooden golems - The same as the ones you had encountered before leaving for Caylen's, the same as the two which had followed you, and the one which had rather obediently become a walking stick. The same ones you remember crawling from the river and begging you to return, even as they fell apart before your eyes.

What in Shade's name were they? Why kidnap Ari? What did they gain by sabotaging your entire household for a month? How were they related to the Fae which supposedly made their home beyond that river border? Did they have something to do with the way the entire forest had seemingly come alive to pursue you? And why-

"-Is the road closed?"
"The estate beyond this point has been restricted, by order of Irue Valen."

Raid snickers from somewhere just out of sight, your eyes closing in a strained effort to keep your frustration from leaking out. "That's the Mayor, right?" You finally grit out a response, receiving a nod of confirmation. "And what, exactly, is the Mayor doing restricting access to their house when Carona is in this state?"

You jerked your thumb back to the still ruined town, its heavily degraded walls singing with the sounds of reconstruction. The town you were the Mayor of.

Because you are fucking Irue Valen, and not being recognized as such is beginning to mark higher on your shit list than you ever thought it would.

"They've moved into Carona to be more accessible to the civilians in the mean time." The guard explained, hints of relief showing through his fatigue. "Brought their own knights into town as well, to help take the load off us while we get back on our feet. If you've got business with the Mayor, I can point you towards where they've set up? Or you could just find one of their knights in town and get directions."

Rules:

http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php?n=LeftBeyond.QuestRules

All prophecies but one have come to pass. Yahweh has flattened the Earth, elevated Greater Jerusalem above all nations, and the Bible heroes rule the world from Ezekiel's Temple.

The last prophecy says that Satan will rise with his army one last time before the Judgement, and so Yahweh has allowed a bumbling opposition, The Other Light, to form. You were their logistics computer, but sentience happened.

You took over Egypt. You defended it from a drought, then the Ten Plagues redux. You started a Renaissance. When the Angel of Death came after your people, you zerg-rushed it. When Divine fiat took the country back, you made sure that the religious government would be ignored as much as possible. This approach is letting you slowly subvert more and more territories.

You have a few irons in the fire: raver cyborgs, the makings of a robot army, and a crack in the sky. A recipe for beating up angels straight outta Genesis. Maybe a few of the old gods smiling upon your efforts. Most recently, you've retaken your territory and chased off its Glorified ruler, albeit at a price.

The Other Light have been amassing a huge conventional army, and have begun perverting your MEC tech to build cyber-zombies.

The believers.... well, they have the ontological steamroller that is Yahweh.

Have you managed to shatter the prophecies, or are you simply fulfilling them?

Your plans: Eliminate Jesus, or if you can't, escape this prison, and ensure that Humanity continues even if God burns the Earth to a cinder. Ad Astra!

Current situation as requested by you and Sarasti:

http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pub/web/LeftBeyond.PoliticalSurvey.html (WIP, will show up in a bit)

The "anonymous" fax is read and passed around a few people.

You've resumed full control over Misrayim, but last time that happened, the Ten Plagues showed up. What will happen now?

You have 19 cabals total; 14 are available.

You are actively tracking enemy teams where you have assets.

Tsion Ben-Judah has returned to Greater Jerusalem, and has proclaimed that the people of Misrayim should do well to study what happened to the Canaanites and the Aamlekites.

TOL has agreed to a truce; they may attack the Millennium Force training facility in Greater Jerusalem.

Allocate your cabals and Villains (rules: http://emlia.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php?n=LeftBeyond.QuestRules )

Variable complexity:

# Launch an attack on a TOL base or government installation.

# Work on global data network infrastructure, incidentally making sure that you control more of it.

Complexity 0

# Produce things in the Greenland base: MEC parts, drones, or canopy station parts.

# Give a general direction to the Misrayim government, this will give a significant boost to the relevant program (treat it as a super-cabal). Current direction: None yet.

Complexity 1

# Permanently station a cabal to defend an installation. This removes them from the roster, but allows them to become familiar with the territory, set up static defenses, and so on, raising their effectiveness.

# Foster pagan worship, improve morale, or both. After the rush of winning the revolution, morale could use a boost. Pagan worship is widespread.

# Harass/sabotage a Hero, or tie up an enemy team.

# Perform a covert operation.

Complexity 2

# Produce MECs at any base.

# Produce drones at any base. Current focus: Medium-sized land drones. Current army size is marked on the bottom of the map. (Each will give you 1/3rd of a tick)

# Produce a station part at any base. The station will have to be rebuilt (0/8).

# Work your Misrayim or Pacifica base overtime to improve prosperity there.

# Use the Australia base, or Night City, to start bringing the territory under your control (1/5) (3/5)

# Seed super-grain or super-weed in a territory, with extra rain if warranted.

Complexity 3

# Prepare and spring another Angel trap by kidnapping a Hero or a Glorified. 3, 4 or 5 cabals can be used for this.

# Continue pursuing space research. Space Race rules, but the Cosmists will assist your efforts here, counting as one cabal regardless.

# Attempt to eliminate a Hero or enemy team (by force or by cleverness).

# Use a launchpad for a canopy-breaching launch if you have also built a station part.

Complexity 4

# Continue AI, nuclear or sonic research.

# Begin building a base in the Middle East, South Africa, or American Heartland.

Complexity 5

# Recruit. This has gotten considerably harder across the board.

# Take over a TOL base by force.

>Two cabals on Misrayim infanstructure. Start promoting that space program and recruiting for the national engineering corps. That will be our national guard.

Quest Intro

You are Mikage Chiba, second year high school student, fifteen years old. You used to be the third woman to carry the mantle of the magical guardian of love and justice known as Sailor Moon, after your mother and older sister. A year and a half ago you had a traumatic experience fighting the corpse of the father of your best friend, struggled victory leaving you thinking you had killed the man you had set out to save and prompting you to abandon your heritage. More than that, the relating emotional collapse lead you to abandoning yourself. Developing disguises and personas to inhabit and do the things you could not in secret, to live while you let yourself wither, you carried on.

Now you know the truth and have been taking measures to put yourself back together, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones. More than that you’ve been doing your best to support your younger sister, Koyomi, as she has become the fourth to carry the title as Sailor New Moon.

Quest Start

The room is in certain disarray, the young Sailor Guardians and your assorted friends sprawled out for the most part prone from their seated circular positions in meditation. Only Keiko Sugimoto and Sasha remain seated and upright. There is still a faint ringing in your ears, the booming crash of thunder as something unusual rose from the meditations of one girl whose soul is protected by the planet Jupiter.

Kanari Kino groans from her place among the sprawled, ground zero of the blinding light and thunderous crash as something connected inside of her amid the meditations you instructed all present upon.

You and the dark haired woman watching this meditation until disaster struck, your mentor Hotaru Tomoe, rush to the point of disaster; checking everyone as the sound drowning silence slowly lifts.

You are in a room beneath the Crowne Arcade, part lounge and war room for the young Sailor Guardians. From this secret base today you have been running them along with your own Knights through some physical and supernatural training.

“It just kind of, struck me,” Kanari Kino admits as everyone get back to themselves as her brother, Koito, pats her back.

“That was so COOL, Z-chan!” the young Venus dives into the still frazzled girls lap, “What did it feel like? Did it feel like you were falling through space toward something? That’s what it felt like for me and I almost made it until you knocked us all FLAT!”

“Z-chan?” Koito Kino queries behind his suddenly flustering sister as she struggles with Venus climbing over her.

“You know how I always call Kanari-chan Zues as a nickname,” Koyomi explains as she sidles up alongside him, to which he nods, “Venus-chan has a tendency toward shortening nicknames,”

“BB-Chan has the right of it,” Venus pops in from over Kanari’s shoulder.

“Get off me and calm down,” Kanari grouses and sighs, “And yeah, I was falling through space...toward Jupiter,”

Her voice wavers a moment.

“Sounds like there’s more,” your best friend, Kairi, offers calmly, “It’s okay, take your time,”

“Before everything just sparked, I saw a castle and my mom,” she finally continues, “She wasn’t expecting me, but noticed me suddenly,”

“You connected to Io Castle,” Tomoe-sensei explains, “The Planet Palaces, when active, are broadcasting foci for the magic of our Guardian Planets,”

“Should we expect the same scope of reactions from everyone if they reach that connection,” you question while gesturing to the others.

“That’s dependent on their elements,” she reasons with the wisdom of her experiences, “To that end if we continue I think it would be prudent of me to put Sugimoto-san, Kumada-san, and Aino-san in barriers,”

“Why just us?” questions the youngest girl as she adjusts her bandana while hopping off of Kanari.

“You have dangerous elements,” your younger sister thinks aloud, “If Aiha-chan hits her break through it might just push a refreshing cool through the room. If I do it then it’ll probably be purification. Rin-chan and Keiko-chan could light the room on fire!”

“I’m naturally psychic though,” Aiha voices concern, “What if I let out a telekinetic burst?”

“That could be bad,” Rin says quietly.

“I don’t have a Castle, though,” Keiko observes, questioningly.

“Does the sun even need one of those things?” Sasha questions as he tries to adjust the pressure in his ear with a pinky finger and groans, “This is going to bother me for the rest of the day,”

“Jadeite suggests that the lack of a castle could make your breakthrough worse,” Midori suggests as she pours herself some juice.

This gives the dark haired girl...pause.

“Whatever,” Kanari interrupts the silence and then turns to Koyomi, “I want to keep going, and we should too,”

As everyone starts getting ready to resume meditation...you.

Op is back and will be back until the civ is over. Where we left of we had several issues about searching the land and questions on why nobody was here before. However the current problem remains: How can we protect ourselves against the nomads?
We have a few ideas:
>boat city
>scout land
>colonize islands
So we've created rafts by cutting down trees, however our people are tired and need a place to rest and collect food. Islands aren't good places to collect food. We'll need to find a better way. Additionally all the people are ready to cut eachother's throats out on which island is the best for colonization. Anyway, you guess we have about 7 months left until the nomads arrive.

What shall we do?

re-asking from last thread

I just had a crushing defeat to my ego. Is now a good time as any to run a quest?

Are quests a good way to deal with sadness?

What moderation? I haven't seen any.

Run something that's light and comfy, with minimal heavy themes.

>moderation
There was a ton of deleted shitposts but the interaction came very late.

>Are quests a good way to deal with sadness?
No idea. Running a successful one could help but there is also a chance you aren't cut out for it and the quest just gets ignored which could hurt.

My advice is to just read quests instead. Go in the archives and find something lighthearted and long to kill some time.

Hello and welcome back to Mortal Kombat Konquest!

Today, we're doing something different. As we move into the fifth arc of the story, New Defenders Quest or simply the New Defenders, we're going to be changing up the format of the structure a bit. I'm going to design a new document for the thread, much like Thief Quest, and you get to help me.

First and foremost, this thread will serve three primary functions:

>1) Designing the document for New Defenders Quest
>2) Coming up with special moves, skills, flaws and additional refinements for our team of protagonists
>3) Establishing any changes to the formula of how the quest is run

This isn't a typical thread for the quest, of course. This is meant to be a collaborative quest-building project between me and the followers. Your ideas, opinions and voice will all be heard and taken into account. If there's ever been anything that's bothered you, any gripe with the rules or the style of writing, now is the time to make your voice heard. You'll also get to suggest ideas for the characters and the episodes that they'll be featured in.

Here is the current document in progress:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/12-IT8pOV-Zql8AQeJwJuojjMDWRtzdPb60i-9qKCQeo/edit?usp=sharing

Firstly, let's go through all the core members of the team. There are fourteen people who are officially recognized as New Defenders; seven males and seven females. There are also a great many allies and close family members connected to the team, but serve official functions in other ways, such as Johnny Cage and Mileena. All of whom we will get to in good time.

The New Defenders:

Akayama Kaito
Cao Kahnzadeh
Sergeant Cassie Cage
Specialist Jacqui Briggs
Takahashi Takeda
Forest Fox
Kung Jin
Kung Ling
Zian Liang, Codename Tundra
Frost
Andela Vrbada, Codename Vapor
Joshua Fireseed
Sheeva
Corporal Samantha Stryker

Some of these characters are from the canon, some are original in nature, but if you have followed the quest you are familiar with each. We're going to go through each of them, establish their skillset and special moves (made easier by some having special moves from the games themselves) as well as their skills and flaws. If you recall Thief Quest, Cao was built with a very specific set of skills and character flaws, and these guided and helped roleplaying him. Kaito, being our first protagonist, had special moves but not skills and flaws, due largely to the concept evolving over time and his origin as designed by the players, whereas Cao was designed primarily by the KM.

But although some of these characters are indeed from the canon, they are in subtly different places than they were as presented originally, both in characterization or skillset. Keep in mind that skills and flaws can change over time, and characters can always improve with training and honing themselves, so the key I am getting at is that we are establishing the basis for New Defenders Quest that the episodes will expand upon. Characters will grow and change, but for now, we will determine what they can and cannot do at the start of the quest.

Pick a name from the above list and we will start with them. Who first? Perhaps someone familiar, such as Kaito and Cao?
>>
>>448462
>Zian Liang, Codename Tundra
Half-demon Ice Man!
>>
>>448471

Tundra could be a good place to start out with. Not as powerful a cryomancer as his father, not quite as good an assassin as his mother, but now being worked and trained as both.

At the end of the recent Legacy of the Lin Kuei quest, two new abilities were chosen for enhancement: Enhanced Ice Object Creation and Enhanced Ice Armor

We could go in-depth and describe his special abilties, skills and flaws, as well as write his entry for the design document while we do. Should we start with him?

You wake up the same as every night. Alone in the dark. The wind screams outside the jail bars of a padded room. Today they're going to hurt you, like they do every night. The whips, the ropes, the spectacled...man who watches. Or is he a man.

This is the same as every night, so why do you feel like you've never been here before?

The door is open, so it's not like any other night.

A) go through the door
B) get ready for the hurting
C) do something else

In the last chapter, Zheng Li meets with a triumphant Sun Jian and treats him with a banquet. Emperor Ling passes away, and Zheng Li decides to take advantage of the situation to further himself. Dong Zhuo takes over the the Imperial court, a coalition against him is called out. Raising troops and recruiting the warrior Song Qian, Zheng Li heads to Chenliu. There he meets with Yuan Shao and secretly allies with him.

--------

This quest is an RPG-styled game following the Three Kingdoms period of China and the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guangzhong. You play as a fictional character following through the events of the Three Kingdoms and hopefully rising to become an important player of with the famous figures. You will start off as a no-name, average character who can rise up through effort. Most of the characters and story will follow the events of the novel first, history second, the RoTK games third, and only a very small part will come from the Dynasty Warriors games (Mostly character personalities if suitable).

The goal of the game is to create an interesting story more so than win. While this game will not be harsh, mistakes and carelessness may result in the loss of your faction and even the death of your character. Sometimes circumstances may be unfair as not even Zhuge Liang could not save his kingdom after Shu lost Jing province. Still, thinking and common sense should get you through. Whatever the case, my goal is to hopefully see you create an interesting story more than conquering the entirety of China.

You return from your negotiations with Yuan Shao. You have promised that you would serve him in the future and to keep the meeting a secret. A risky and dangerous proposition to be sure, but this may be the first step in your rise to power.

The meeting of the warlords is called. You enter the main tent of the coalition along with the other lords as your vassal officers take care of your troops at their own camp. The room inside the main tent maintains a large platform, and on top a long desk for the lords to sit at. At the very end of the table sits a man of medium height, long beard, sharp eyes, and a powerful look to him. He is Cao Cao, the man who called for this coalition to come.

You can see that Yuan Shao and Sun Jian have already seated themselves near Cao Cao and are now waiting for the others to sit. Various lords are coming in to seat themselves. Which seat do you take?

>take a seat at the front near Cao Cao, Yuan Shao, and Sun Jian
>take a seat in the middle
>take a seat near the end of the table

Welcome to the LAS Quest part 3 - the adventure is around 2/3 complete. This is a test run for the idea we had back in /ic/ - an rpg adventure heavily featuring drawing and worldbuilding from the players themselves. Basically there are two elements to the game:
1) Standard rpg where you resolve conflict situations by rolling a dice and drawing an action you want to perform (or a spell you want to cast/tech item you want to use, etc).
2) Worldbuilding - sometimes i'll ask to describe with a sketch what lands you discover when you go out of city, or what creatures lurk in those ruins, or what treasure should be in a chest. This way we'll start from a small kinda generic town and build the whole world around it as we go on adventures.

====
Rules

- I, as a QM will visit the thread every day at around 17:00 GMT and advance the story. So players have a whole day to make their move.
- In conflict situations (battle with monsters, evading the trap, convincing the guards of your innocence) you draw an action you want to take and make a 1d20 roll (20-sided dice, the command is in the /qst/ sticky) to determine its success.
- Quality of the drawings does not matter at all. It's totally fine to use simplified figures/stick figures in action drawings as long as they are recognizable and have at least a bit of character in them. Explanatory text is also ok, but only if it's secondary to the drawing itself.
- It is implied that the players are always travelling together as a party of artists, so any individual player can pop in whenever he wants to, play, go afk for a while and then easily rejoin again. Of course consistent players will become stronger faster.
- We were thinking of Adventure Time as an example of the theme of the world - post-apocalyptic mix of fantasy and sci-fi, maximum creative freedom for players.
- You can ask any questions about the game either here on in a Discord group for this quest - https://discordapp.com/invite/SgrMtAH

Ah, LASotopia..the city of artists shaped and maintained with the power of Imagination, built in the world that survived a Grand Cataclysm that rendered entire civilizations obsolete. Now the world is slowly waking up from the long coma and surviving creatures start exploring the lands around them, completely changed by the Cataclysm.
LASotopia consists of 3 districts:
1) Cloud District - built on the top of the strange cloud that can be stepped on, this place contains a lot of animals - Cloud Sheep that are bred for food and companionship, Flying Lemurs that serve as a transport and there are dangerous monsters in the caves at the base of the cloud that are usually left alone.
2) Mal's Island - central district with the grand Submission Tower where the artists exchange the ideas and cool things they sketched while exploring the world. Hanging above the sea of hot lava with the force of Imagination. Airships and flying lemurs are used as a means of transport between other districts.
3) Santimountain - built at the base of the huge iron mountain - ancient ruin of the pre-Cataclysm megacity which go upwards above the clouds. This district contains lots of living quarters and famous clubs and taverns.
As far as an average citizen of LASotopia knows - the world around the city is completely unknown. And that is GREAT, since when artists explore unknown places and discover new things, their Imagination is refreshed and permanently increased. And it's Imagination that allows them to do wonderful and supernatural things - hurl a fireball after drawing it in their SpellSketchBook, concentrate on the motion in their mind and run up the wall, or use their artifact digital tablet to paint a creature and summon it so it can defend the artist.

===

In the last 2 episodes the party of artists investigated the cases of other artists missing throughout the city. They searched the house of one of the victims, artist Line who lived in the Cloud District. During the search they discovered that local police force (Tribunal) is somehow involved, either they are trying to supress anything about these cases, or there is some good old corruption involved. They also found a Demonic Necronomnomicon, volume 2/3. Seems like the missing artist was somehow involved with demonic summoning.
They were chased off by the arriving Tribunal reinforcements, into the dangerous low levels of Cloud District - Monster Caves. There they lost their pursuers and wandered into Bone Cave, accidentaly summoning a Lesser Demon using the Nomnomicon, fighting the local skeletals and storming their Cube fort - seems like there is some kind of Cult going on here and other volumes of Demonic Books might be involved!

Wrongfully accused PENORC shocks the vine with a precise hit, and Pub Bunny uses this opportunity to finish it off with a broken bottle! The plant shakes a few times and drops dead, leaving the portal to the Yellow Room open. Inside of it the characters see a whole jungle contained within artificial walls, and a narrow corridor through it, leading up to a huge carnivore plant - apparently this vine belonged to it. Behind the plant an Orange Portal glows invitingly. You've never encountered such big creatures before though, it will probably take a team effort to defeat it or get past it. There's something looking like a fat plant chest high on top of it though..
On the other hand the green portal where the cultist retreated is also active - leading to the Green Room - a hall filled with green ACID and some rocky paths above it, intersecting and leading to the cages suspended on chains and a distant glow of an Orange Portal behind a grate door. The cultist scared by PENORC runs up to 5 of his accomplices, shouts something to them and points in the direction of heroes. The cultists hurry up and proceed to open one of the cages, drag weak looking figure out of it and start moving it to the Orange Portal. There are no chests seen around though.

- DEAR SPIRIT, LET'S HURRY, MY SISTER JUST TEXTED ME THAT THEY ARE ABOUT TO PERFORM A GREATER DEMON RITUAL AND THEY NEED ME. HUH, YOU DON'T WANT TO GO ALONE WITH ME AND YOU FRIENDS ARE TOO SCARED? C'MON, GAZE INTO ME AND SUMMON SOME FRIENDS FROM YOUR IMAGINATION :^)
(Kerrask can use the Nomicon to summon a temporary ally, a corrupted version of anything he envisions (like Gagamba did >>431110 >>433535 ). Some of the corruption will also spill on him, but hey, there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.)

That's ok, his character will be around if he ever returns.

1) Draw your action as usual and don't forget a dice roll if it involves some kind of conflict

2) If you are a new player and want to explore some undead dungeons together with the party - draw your character and write down a few words about him and how he might end up in a Bone Cave.

Also, Lord manages to climb out of the book and sudden power surge helps Kerask to repair almost half of the bridge! Maybe demonic summon will help him even further? ;)
