You are an Evil Overlord, but before you attempt to consolidate your rule, what is this world like?

Is it magical? (Standard Medieval High Fantasy, with a few twists and inverted cliches. For example, Humans once ruled a mighty empire and are in severe decline.)

Is it scientifically advanced? (Somewhat Soft Sci-Fi, in the distant future, humanity has expanded beyond earth, and has fractured into hundreds of competing factions.)

Or is it steampunk? (Centuries after the nuclear apocalypse turned the world into barren desert, civilization has rebuilt in a strange mish-mash of renaissance, medieval, and futuristic technology.)

Somalia 1991:

Background: Your name is Mohammed Rafat, you were born in July 2nd 1944 in Mogadishu, Somalia to a father of a former Italian Ascari who fought in the East African Campaign during WW2. You graduated out of the Somali National University in 1965 with an Engineering Degree and a Bachelors Degree, you later opened up an auto mechanic store in Mogadishu where you were able to get money to support you and your family. In 1975, you met a woman named Sheegan whom you loved ever since and in 1983 both of you got married. In 1984, you gave birth to a daughter named Warem but sadly, your wife died during birth, leaving you a single father. Pay starts becoming expensive, your years start growing difficult as you don't have enough money to support your daughter and your shop, but you keep going strong as you want your daughter, who is now 7 years old, to have a bright future and live a better life.

May 2nd 1991:

Over the last few month, you have watched your city slowly turn into a war zone. After the government was overthrown by rebel leaders this January, several fronts started fighting for power, millions of people are dying every day from gun battle or mortar shells, you start getting worried about your daughter as you know you don't want her to grow up in this environment so you start doing everything to protect her from the outside world.

The next day, a Mortar shell falls down on your house, destroying part of the house but leaving everyone okay. It was at this point that you've had enough of this battle so you start pacing up your bags to leave this god-forsaken country. you don't have that much space though so you should only pack some stuff that are important.

what will you pack? you can only pick five.

I'm a slime in a strange and deadly world and for some reason I gain the skills of those I kill. I currently have more skills than I know what to do with and I don't know a lot about most of my skills.

I've just made friends with another human. I hope she doesn't trick me like the last humans I found. I also hope she doesn't tell me to do anything because I have a mindless obedience skill.

We are going to take off and head to a village of slavers where this woman is hoping to cut some kind of deal to keep herself safe. I've been advised to stay away from the place, but I want to learn more about this world so we are going together for now.

Last night I practiced my magic. I tried to do it quietly so I wouldn't bother my new friend, but she didn't sleep at all. She's worried about monsters sneaking up on her.

I learned more about the mind reading spell I cast when confused. I can do it at will, but it leaves me really confused If we do it It might leave me a mess on the floor for the next few minutes. I also learned to make a flashbang.

My slime egg just hatched too. I have 3 more slimes. That's the egg I tried to use to remove lubricated crawling with so I tested and they did gain the skill. This means I can make slimes that have my skills. Good job coming up with this trick guys!

Hello again fellow creators and questers. It's been a while since I've had the time to do this, but finally I have a period of time to run another EvoGame series. The goal of this game/quest series is to see how far the evolution of these critters go, and to make a thriving ecosystem of creatures and aberrations.

As GM, I'll do my best to actively work on phylogeny charts to track the evolutions, and also make random events for the world to drive evolution down new paths. Since I've done this a few times now, and taken the time to observe/lurk on other EvoGames, I've picked up a few new tricks to keep everything organized and streamline too.

How to play:
• Open an image of a species in MS Paint, or your editor of choice
• Make one evolutionary change to that species
• Save as .PNG!
• Post your new species in the thread with a description of what evolution you've added and why.
• Details indicating what the generation of your species is important. Please indicate. (Base Organisms are Generation 0)
• Details regarding a creatures size or name are encouraged, but not required.
• Nothing too outlandish. Anything silly or derailing will not be considered a canon species 95% of the time.

Notes:
• Unless stated explicitly, no species ever goes extinct. Old species can still evolve, even if they're not on the latest "chain"
• Try to make your evolutions gradual and realistic in biological standards.
• Everyday I'll add an update Phylogeny Chart to track changes. These take awhile, so please be patient.
• Every 1-2 days I'll be rolling for a Random World Event.
• Extinction Events will have a chance of occurring once more, and likely with little warning. Be ready for life to adapt.
• When this thread reaches its endpoint, we will be switching over to other Moon World Rienia.

You walk over to the door and slide it closed, taking note as you do so that the bright blue sky is actually the roof of a cavern painted that hot cerulean color, and the crane's cries come from a lake further from your compound. Your compound is one of many, stretching to the left and the right, some attended by demons at the gate, others not. The back yards – such as your own that you look out onto – are equally decorous in varying manners, most styled in the Chinese manner, though with a few rare Japanese and several Western ones.

So this is Hell for an Immortal.

You suspect you've lapsed into a coma after your fight with the Demonic Immortals, specifically Black Fox Hui Daji and Fyusumi the Black Sorceress. That you destroyed an artifact belong to a deity is the reason you have been taken to this Hell. It was an excuse, much as the fact that you are a threat to the Buddhists is an excuse. There are souls to corrupt and weapons to be used against the Jade Emperor (may he live Ten Thousand times Ten Thousand Years) in Japan, and manipulating your sister into giving him a formal invitation is just how Enma-Oh works. If he can coerce, trick, or manipulate you into assisting him in any way, he'll do that too.

Of course, you have permission to slay him, which would banish him back to China and force his minions to retreat or take up his projects with far less skill than he can manage himself. This is complicated by the fact you're down to about two-fifths of your Shen. Your body is healing, but you are missing a lot of blood. Inari's chief servant, a nine-tailed kitsune, took away most of your pain, and gave you a black jade button that could restore your Shen completely in an instant. Well, you hope in an instant. The Ruyi of Ame-no-Horobi-no-Mikado is Nowhere, and it may be difficult to reach.

The local demons nearest your compound are at least twice as powerful as Hui Daji, and he did things to you that would have killed anyone else, or at least maimed them. The ruyi gave you the power to defeat him, and only with it would you be even slightly capable of harming Enma-Oh. It would be suicidal to try without.

But it seems that diplomacy is what he is interested in – there are rules, and while you may not know them all at the moment, you will learn as you go. It has been made very clear that while he is a creature of honor, he is a creature of honor like you are – in other words, rules subject to interpretation and loopholes abound. Still, if he promises to give you something freely and without danger, you have been told you may at least trust him to follow his own rules that far.

Not that you would trust such a thing to be without string or to be useful to him as well as yourself. Kyubi-sama didn't even need to tell you that.

Your name is BILLY MCGUFF.
Recently, your entire deck of YU-GI-OH CARDS was stolen by a group of bullies at your school.

In your school, YU-GI-OH is pretty much the most popular thing ever. Everyone plays it, even some of the teachers! How good you are at the game determines how popular you are.

As such, losing your deck means you have lost your main method of impressing your classmates, and you are now occasionally picked on. Due to your already low self-esteem, this is driving you just a little bit crazy.

You need to get your cards back.

The bullies promised that if you could defeat their leader in a game, you could have your cards back. When you asked how you were supposed to do that without a deck, they laughed and poured chocolate milk on you.

So here you are. It's the first day of the weekend. You have the rest of today and tomorrow to find a way to get your cards back. After that, the bullies are planing on selling your deck. Or lighting it on fire. Or keeping it for themselfs. They actually got into a pretty big argument about it, and you still don't know exactly what they plan to do.

So.

You are Lara Abbott, a human commoner, and ever since you were a kid, you've wanted to go on a big adventure. Problem being, you have very few skills. Basically none actually... But not too long ago, you found a magic guitar on the body of a dead gypsy. The guitar essentially plays itself, all you have to do is hit the strings. Using this magic guitar you think you may be able to team up with some real adventurers under the guise of being a bard.

And where else to find a ragtag group of adventurers than a tavern? But which one to hit?

It’s dark, the sound of rushing water and the hum of an engine the only thing piercing the blackness. Finally there’s a light up ahead, behind wall of falling water.You see it splash onto the metal of the ships deck and fall off the sides of the vessel, then water is soaking the visor of your suit.

The Green Initiative barge exits the cavern from behind the waterfall and bursts into the sunlight deep in Uruguay. The skies in this region had long since been denied to even stealth dropships, and so travel by river was the only means to get the team here.

You can’t feel it but you know its sunny, its warm, and its humid and the sound of jungle and waterfall reverberates outside your suit. The massive GI barge floats down the river, the steep stony walls of a gorge on either side hiding it from prying eyes, as you sit in your suit among other gathered suits of various sizes from a simple second skin all the way up to a massive fortress size. Around the edges of the deck, men in dark green camo suits with sniper rifles and anti-tank weapons, bearing stone cold grimaces coated in green face paint, eyes trained on the gorge above.

You hear a distinctily Brazilian voice on the shortwave radio, either from your own suit or from someone who has it.
“Drop off point ETA in 5 minutes. This is as far as the river will let us take you. We’re dropping you off behind a mountain you’ll need to cross, then its nothing but rainforest until you hit the infestation, that should give you some cover from enemy sensors.
Stay under the tree cover, it’s your safest place not to be detected by hostile sensors. Tread softly, remember there are two enemies swarming the jungle.

There’s some kind of jamming frequency going on interfering with map equipment and long range communications. We no longer have accurate maps of the area, but we’ll try to send them to you as soon as we can. There’s a good chance you’ll be cut off from satellite relays and command.

You are Prince Meirion auk Gwyrren, the only sane man in a royal family with dubious concepts of strategy, justice, taxation, and governance in general. You have made it your goal in life to keep your family on the throne and your head firmly attached to your body.

The enemy is fleeing west towards Delyth while you ride at a leisurely pace. All it takes is a few random attacks during the night to keep them sleepless and a few patrols to kill their scouts to ruin their march. By the time they return to the rest of their troops, they'll be more of a burden than anything.

Messengers have reported that things elsewhere are going well. In the centre, Delyth has the enemy split by a wedge, while Olwen and her father are fighting against an army that's spread out over too many miles to properly secure its supply lines. Everything is going smoothly, and yet your hand itches every time it drifts near the sword at your waist. Your sword, Rhithcan, was forged to win duels, but you spend most of your time conducting your army.

It's still satisfying - winning always is - but it doesn't get the blood flowing quite like being in the middle of the battle does.

Then again, that's why you brought Eleri along. She's sharing a saddle with you, leaning her back against your chest for support.

"This is very different from the battles," Eleri says. "I didn't think war could be so calm."

"War is short, frenzied fighting, long waits and extremely long journeys," you say. "Getting hundreds or even thousands of people together at the same spot is difficult to say the least."

"I'd imagine so," Eleri says. "Have you given any thought to what you do after this?"

"Once Olstren's forces are out of Gwyrddarfordir?"

Eleri nods.
