Cringeworthy experiences are born from poor judgments of reality. Nobody is exempt, really.
Many dread these events way more than they should. And those who don't, on the other hand,
endure with confidence what they mess up in reality.

Cringyness is, always, a matter of intent.

A matter of judgment.

Sure, you can point at a retard splattered into one of those big glass doors and laugh. It would
make sense. It would be healthy. Yet, some times, and way more times than we realize, the
retard has been paid, is being recorded, and is not a retard at all but just a guy in a Barney the
Dinosaur shirt that's about to fuck some hot blonde. Sounds far-fetched as hell, I'd know.
And yet, sometimes, retards laugh at girls who slip on their high heels and get hurt.

My point? Retards, at times, blend well with the standards. Sometimes they don't.

What if the standard was retarded?

Trish slowly sips from her mochaccino as Snacks and Lumina watch you squirm and cry
loudly on the floor because Itachi had just died in Naruto. The phantom sighs in agony while
the dark girl simply blinks.

Trish drinks even slower, maybe hoping she can keep doing that forever.

Welcome, you lovely fucks, to a quest about that stuff you did before, the one that hurts to
remember. In this quest (and maybe irl too) you are a hellfire-scorching autist who speedruns J
rpgs and takes bushido very seriously: Emil.

Some of the stuff that has already happened:

-You got your very own, personal Snacks! A phantom that follows you everywhere and suffers your shit with you, no matter how hard she tries to stop it.

-You finally spoke with some of your classmates:
Priscila (the unreadable, tall sports girl), Romina (the dere-dere araara that you just realized had always lived next to you),
Cold-hearted(the ones with horns and foul mood, always with Romina),
Ado (the big blonde ultra-adonis that's always with the girl of your dreams),
Mina (the peaceful girl of your dreams),
'Snacks' (a big black guy that deadlifts in the middle of class),
Valery (Trish's lovely friend that you want to fuck- the one that got her to take care of you),
and Trish.

-You met Lumina, who's now your girlfriend. None of you are exactly sure about what that means, but you ain't sharing your cookies with /no one/.

-You got bullied by Wrinkles, Glasses, and Jeansman.

-Trish finally decided to put up with you in order to save the world from your way of life.

-And some other stuff I fail to remember.

This time, since I'm busy as fuck, we are going to run a bit differently: in slow, intense mode. Posts will be long with a lot of time in-between, and choices will be very more meaningful.

Without further ado-

Glory to Alainn!

You are Cathal Rathais, one of the chosen elite, the 13th Legion, scouting a world 4231 years after your country won the Grand War and placed itself in cryostasis to allow the planet to recover.

You have assumed the false name "Ace Locke" for your hunter identity. So far, only two people have seen through it, one of which can read minds.

A Faerie from an alternate world has altered your body, making you appear much younger.

so far you have:
>Updated your bunker database
>registered to the Hunter's guild (and flirted with the receptionist)
>Recruited Pisteia, the Mercenary Princess (Knight)
>Completed Nissa Estalise's quest
>Eliminated a raider stronghold
>Taken control of Outpost Charlie and looted it.
>Repaired a Raider buggy
>Repaired the lift to the outpost garage
>Secured an Otharthurian Outrider
>Secured a Patrol tank
>Met with the Archivum
>Got a lot of money
>Went to Lethbridge
>Discovered and recruited fellow 13th legion soldier Almeda Irnan (Adriana Hammer)

>Repaired the tank, moved vehicles to ship.
>Recruited a mercenary dragon hunter temporarily
>You slew a blood dragon
>you obtained a plot of land and are building a rather large palace and homes atop it.

>You recruited Clark Howard Thule, conduit of forgotten gods.
>You observed the current base of FEATHER forces
>You recruited Uriel 'Rumor,' the bard of phantasms.
>gained party member ???? the ????????????
>Did battle with a faerie
>Recruited Dr. Alleria Trost, Shapeshifting Scientist and FEATHER director.
>Recruited Lily Tekel Trost, Eldritch shapeshifter.

The following is information you have collected:
>The Archivum is a worldwide network of academic nature that is studying the ruins of the past. They pay well for artifacts.
>Nissa went to Lethbridge to return to Korlanis
>the 14th legion turned on Alainn and are now the raiders under the orders of a general
>There is a city called 'Korlanis' Where Nissa came from.
>Kantrel fell apart underground due elitism and pale horrors lurking in the underground sea
>Ollam used humans as nodes of their data network
>A very prolific Archivum archaeologist might have an idea about who you are.
>Clark was present during the disaster of Otharthur that led to the ban of magic.
>An Anomaly in Inis forest is producing strange things.
>Pisteia is a princess
>Clark can read people's minds
>Uriel is Garvelton's son
>The garrison of Graggen is part of the military of the country the duchies are part of
>Faerie exist in another world and can pass through anomalies.
>FEATHER has come from somewhere not of this world and bear weapons comparable to Alainn.
>Alleria is a fae, and her daughter is a shapeshifting creature.
>Alleria, Lily and Clark are stabilizing Inis and repurposing it for FEATHER.
>You need to remove the turrets in your fort.
>The madman appears shortly after the Flying Specter does.
>Garvelton got away during your battle.
>Harvest Festival is in celebration of Vor'Ma, a god of an Alainn religion.
>Almeda went to the Grand General (your glorious leader) directly just to be deployed in the same area and time as you.
>The Madman does exist, and he left behind crops.
>Dragon Rangers are interfering with Archivum activities in Titan's Arm
>Raiders have a main base in Titan's Arm.
>Something is destroying golems in Lothos.
>The strange laboratory is filled with fae dust from killing fae. A pale horror was destroyed almost instantly.
> the strange laboratory bears patterns and tech that is impossible.
>The Flying Specter is in Lothos.
>Someone who is afraid of FEATHER is tracking you, and has infiltrated the Hunter's Guild.

Current tasks:
>find the madman and have your body restored

Your current score:
Land Claimed: Koro Duchy Manor.
Vehicles obtained: 4 (+1 extra)
Airships: (Unnamed) - Archivum cargo airship
Permanent party members obtained: 7 (3 unavailable)
Allied factions: FEATHER
Harvest Festival Partner: Almeda Irnan
>Memento: Vor'Ma's Tankards. - an item you and Almeda have one each of from the same set. It is an omen of a strong bond between the owners if both tankards are from the same set.

The golem lurches towards you, you hear klaxons blaring. Footsteps can be heard for just a moment before the golem swings with the creaking of tortured metal.

>19
You open fire, unloading on the golem and destroying one of the hearts. Pisteia charges into the swing with her blade.

>17
You hear a voice crackle from unseen speakers. "Vee! Floor 9, Air tower! Golem's up!" It sounds like you'll have company soon.

>15
Almeda pounds the golem with gunfire. A turret emerges from one shoulder. It releases it's own spray of bullets, but you manage to skirt out of the gunfire.

>17
Your counterattack is unleashed on the golem. Another golem heart stone shatters. the golem's eyes flicker. Pisteia strikes again, disabling the turret. The elevator dings.

>15
The door is blown open as a shot flies through it. None of your party is in the path, but the golem gets hit head on. It lurches once and breaks into fragments.

Heavy footsteps sound in the hallway, getting closer.

"Intruders. This location is property of the Independant Research Union. You are tresspassing." The voice is that of a young girl's. The lights are dark, but you can see the glow of eyes staring at you down the hall on approach.

"Very high power output detected. Approaching entity's weapon outclasses the patrol tank." Artoria states, moving away from the door.

What do you do?
>Prepare for battle and ambush
>Attempt to communicate with approaching entity.
>Try to speak with voice on the speakers.

Last time on Innerworld, gnolls got roasted by a fire started in the heat of battle. Now on Innerworld, you are eating said gnolls, because they are delicious.

The last embers have faded, and weary confidence has been replaced by a nervous tension that seems to invade every person in the village. A feeling of 'we've survived', of cautious optimism. While that may be how the general public thinks, the war leaders are trying to stop that from getting their heads. It's not over yet.

"How many men do we have left?," Khop asks.

"120 men," Shash reports back.

The lanky ghoul is standing by the doorway, ensuring no one interrupts the meeting that's taking place. After all, this one may decide the course of the war.

"I think we all had our fill of the bloodshed two days ago, but as it is we've been spotting scouts here and there of the gnolls," Khop says, orating from where he stands on his rock/makeshift chair.

"I need a poll of opinions from all of you - should we march onwards or take them down when they come to raid? There are benefits and negatives to both, but I know where my vote stands."

You all do too. With his father still missing, and that ghoul spotted at their closest settlement left to a similar fate, it is understandable what his concerns are.

Still, you all are left to wonder - should you stay or should you go?

A. Keep an offensive footing
B. Keep a defensive footing

(Note that planning will occur after you've voted for which to take, and that will be when you make major decisions on tactics/strategy/etc.)

[PART 1]

We began our journey in the Badlands, a neutral buffer zone between the Western and Eastern Territories that was just too shit for either side to properly claim. After dealing with some minor engine troubles, our Hero John left the ramshack transport, and his asshole 'boss', behind for the town of Bo Shan, a small trade center compmostly of Easterners and some of mixed blood. Finding the local bar, meeting/flirting with the elf owner, repairing some lanterns for a man called Goo Hwi, and then ending the night helping the bar owner Sierra clean up after a drunk group of guards trashed the place all quickly happened in sequence. John and Sierra swapped stories before heading to sleep.

The next morning resulted in a quick shopping trip and trip to a newly found Ruin to explore it.

Too bad 'Jun' was a bandit.

As the tingle gets stronger you know EXACTLY what's about to happen and before either of the girls has a chance to react to the strange behavior you bend over, the tell-tale feeling of air rushing over your head as Khrone jumps over the chair in an attempt to jump onto your back. This had once been a prank and bully sort of thing he had done when you were younger but nowadays it was more of a simple “pay attention to me” maneuver.

Thankfully having been the recipient of this maneuver for the better part of ten years you had become rather adept at knowing when he would do such a thing. You can’t help but enjoy the sight of the short teen on the ground ahead of you. Before either girl reacts you begin to chuckle and sit back up.

“Come now, Khrone I’d have thought by now you’d know not to do that.” You tease. You aren’t sure if its just the reassurance of having him around or being able to make a fool out of him that gave you the confidence in your voice, but you weren’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

He perks up to say something but before he does he locks his sight on Yang and in your head you feel the growing headache it will be until he gets a hold of himself. It had always been the dynamic between the two of you, he was the one that was good with the ladies, and you were the one that was good at keeping HIM from being too good with the ladies.

You still wouldn’t forget the face that one Mayor's daughter had made when you caught him trying to smuggle her away for a more...intimate evening.

“Oh shush up tin-man! You know it's harmless fun.” He replies, a large smile on his face.

You would love to tell him that the two girls beside you knew about why that would be an appropriate nickname, but seeing the gleam in Yang’s eye you think better of it. Once the pleasantries are finished (with a tiny bit of corralling on your part to keep Khrone in line) the four of you continue to joke amongst yourselves before the boarding announcement is made. As you make your way up the ramp into the massive flying devices hold you think of what you’ll do while aboard.

>A. Explore the ship, maybe meet some new faces
>B. Stick with Khrone, you feel sort of bad for ditching him...or did he ditch you?
>C. Stick with Ruby and Yang, they don’t seem to mind you so far and maybe it’ll be a nice change of pace.
>D. Other.

In a time of global conflict, the elite international task force Overwatch was formed. Soldiers, scientists, adventurers, and oddities: together, they ended the Omnic Crisis and restored peace to a war-torn world. For a generation, the heroes of Overwatch protected the world, inspiring an era of exploration, innovation, and discovery.

After many years, Overwatch became troubled, and was finally disbanded by official U.N. order. Soon world conflict and terror rose again. Governments weakened by strife ceded power to mega-corporations. Militaries were replaced by private security forces. Some omnics returned to war with humanity; others remained peaceful, but faced fear and violence from humans affected by the war. The global crime syndicate Talon, in the absence of their perpetual rivals, rose to vast wealth and power, pushing entire nations into chaos.

You are a young man who's been many things: adventurer, treasure hunter, freedom fighter, and international criminal. But before all that, you dreamed of helping defend the world with Overwatch. When you encountered Tracer on that fateful night and agreed to help her rebuild, you didn't quite realize what you were getting yourself into. Joining as the first new recruit of the reborn team, you soon found yourself as unofficial leader in coalition with Athena, apparently the world's only benevolent Mind.

In the weeks since then, you, Tracer, and your new friends have travelled the globe, recruiting former agents and newcomers to the cause, and doing what you can to protect the citizens of Earth from the forces of chaos, oppression, and war. Although most people don't realize it yet, Overwatch has returned. But against Talon, Anubis, and the allied megacorps, is one small team of vigilantes really enough?

The world needs heroes, and you're trying to be one of them.

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the the PTU system, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves and also may leave you open to an interrupt, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.

Pokemon and trainers are unique, and may have certain specializations, skills, or other things that the video-game mechanics might not allow. Some examples: That kung fu Bellsprout in the anime, that crystal Onix, or a Roggenrolla that can fly. Herb's perception skills, pokemon knowledge, context clues in general, and other things will hopefully come into play to avoid completely unfair, unforeseeable bullshit, but expect more bullshit from more advanced trainers.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Roselia)
Dice (Croconaw)
Sorbet (Vulpix)

Location: Tabo Island, outside a tiny mainlander town.

Recently: You agreed to help Murkrow out with his stash. Gobble jobbed a Snorlax, When finding out Murkrow had a sister with a broken wing, went to go help heal it.

You are General Nathan Oman, awakened from thirty years of cyrosleep. You are the last surviving member of the Timmerman Administration, the greatest, strongest government the United States has ever voted into office. You and the rest of the military leadership, under the guidance of President Timmerman, led the country through trying times. Times it would not have survived without you.
And how did the people pay you back? After the dust settled and the crisis passed? By handing President Timmerman and the military command over to an international court. They were all sentenced for crimes against humanity. They were all hanged.
Except, that is, for you and several other generals. You went into hiding. You all swore that in thirty years times you would return and exact vengeance on the world for the death of your nation.

You stand in God's Garden Base in the territory of Colorado, deep within the rocky mountains. Around you men in army fatigues trot around with cables and gear. They are busy setting up low-signature power generators and hanging the stars and stripes. You watch. They are copies. Copies of good men, who lived good lives until they gave them for their county.
One of the copies you are particularly fond of; Jake Malone, ex CIA with a penchant for destruction. There are about five of him now. Five Jake Malone's, four at this base and one in a base in Arizona. You look down at a data pad you hold. Jakes are not the only thing you have.

>Supplies/Personal/Equipment
God's Garden Base
10 Advanced Barracuda Assault Drones
20 Special Ops soldiers
3 Jake Malone's
2 3D printers
Enough Carbon Ink for ten more personal
Sundowner/Helios

Arizona Base

10 Special Ops
30 Barracuda Assault Drones
>>
And how could you forget Dr. Manning, the man who's interest in theoretical science will keep you one step ahead of the traitor states? You call a meeting in the command bunker. Srgt Rick of the special forces, Two Jakes and Dr. Manning all gather. You stand by a holographic display, with the states of Colorado, Arizona, Virginia and Carolina hovering in the air. These are the states you have somewhat of a presence in.

In addition to soldiers and drones, you also have something called a data core, a device capable of attacking integrated systems and bringing them down. Maybe not so useful in the partitioned united states, but outside in China, the EU or the Russian Federation it would do excellent work.
"I've call you here," You say, addressing those gathered. "For us to decide our next move,"
Jake3 taps a palm on the table. "Let's use some Barracuda's to turn Carolina to glass. I'm still pissed they kicked us out with a single armor division."
"No, no," Dr. Manning says, shaking his head. "We must lay low, can't have them finding us. I have so much to study, to research,"
"And yet we need more men," Srgt Rick says. "Thirty special forces soldiers isn't enough to run two bases. We need to link up with the militias in Colorado, or move the Virginia militia here if they'll agree to it."
You listen to these men, leaning back in your chair and putting your hands under your chin in thought.

>Should you harass anyone with the Barracudas? And if so who?
>Should you send anyone out to recruit more men? And if so, who?
>Should you send any of the Jake's to infiltrate, and if so, where?
>You have the strange man Helios, should you utilize him?
>You also have the data core, ready to attack, should you use it?
>>

Whoa OP you're back

>Should you send anyone out to recruit more men? And if so, who?
A Jake and 4 speical Ops to link up with the Colorado militias

>Let Dr.Manning have his research that he wants. Maybe find out more about the strange man Helios

>Have Jake and some Special Ops scout out the happening in Arizona and Colorado

For now we're going to lay low.

It has been a couple days since you've aquired your new side arm and things have quieted down around home.
While initially Tia disliked Meras presence she quickly got used to her.
Granted, the reason why she is so tolerant is that Mera is just a zanpakuto spirit and therefore she isn't present for most of the time, but it's still progress.

As for Mera herself she... had some problems getting used to her new place.
Since Sofia dragged her all over the place to show Vanaheim to her new friend Mera got to see a rather large chunk of the place. And its inhabitants.
It was a text book example of "bad habits die hard".
Needless to say many people had to apologize in her stead when she drew her blade against the many, many regular hollows that walk the streets of the city.
But that is no longer such an issue since she took to staying in your knife for most of the day as of late.

Speaking of which, she's right in front of you in her spirit body while you are busy tending to her "home" with a piece of whetstone.
Mera keeps making popping noises while you maintain her physical body and you just turn off your mind to make the monotonous task go by just a bit faster.
As you keep sharpening the small knife your thoughts keep focusing on one thing: the small red-head before you.
More specifically her place of origin.

"What?"
She asks you once she notices you glancing at her one too many times.

You shake your head.
"Nothing...
I've just been thinking."

"Yeah, no shit.
But judging by your gloomy expression you weren't just trying to undress me with your eyes.
So out with it! What's bothering you?
Is it the guy I punched in the face? I already apologized for that!"

Sighing you set aside the whetstone and begin applying oil to the metal.
"No... it's not that.
I... I was just thinking about the Zero Division."

"Oh...
Them...
Great. Now you reminded me of them.
Thanks for ruining my mood."

"You asked for it...
But tell me Mera. What is your take on them?
Will they be a problem?"

She leans back on her chair until it's standing on just the two hind legs.
You can feel her two feet kicking the underside of the table a little as she uses them to support herself.
"I don't know.
Maybe... Okay, probably. It's actually very likely.
But as much as it pains me to say this... you can trust Nimaiya. At least he keeps his word.
And it's true that they'd punish him as well so there is no chance that he'll rat us out."

"Even still...
They want us dead."

Mera sighs as she stares at the ceiling.
"True."

"And they must be strong."

"You have no god damn idea."
She pauses for a while there.
"But why are you asking this from me now?"

"Because I've been thinking...
If they are truly that strong.... and if my other sources can be trusted... we'll have something truly huge happening very soon.
And I fear we may not be ready."

"What sources?
And what are you talking about?"
Sure it's gonna be bad when the Zero Squad attacks but-"

"Call it a hunch."

Mera grumbles in frustration.
"Oy!
So ye'r just frustrated because your gut told you so?!"

From the confines of your chest a purple light begins shining just barely.
"I wouldn't say it was his gut Mera, more like his heart."

"Oh... so it' was you shiny rock."

"Indeed.
I fear that in the near future a great calamity will befall the Young Master.
One that will make those parasites you call the Zero Squadron seem like insignificant insects in comparison..."

"Oh-kaaaay...
That's not ominous at all.
And why are you so vague?
Aren't you like all knowing and stuff?"

"That's an exaggeration."

You slam your hands on the table once you finish the maintenance of your knife.
"There. Done."
Then there was silence.

Mera, a bit taken back by your sudden action, looks at you.
"So what are you going to do about this... premonition?"

"I have a few ideas..."

When last we left off:
>My friend was wondering if she knew you from somewhere.
"Oh, really?" He raises an eyebrow. "I wasn't aware I was that famous." He nods in the direction of Keith's boxing gym. "I've had a couple of sparring matches with some Crescent City boxers- they have a lot of potential."

"Yeah," Donna follows up. "I have a cousin who boxes there. I think he talked about you." She's a little starstuck by this guy.

"Hm. What's his name?"

"Paul Price," she stutters. "I don't remember which locker he is, but if you box there often, you should see him."

"Hm." The man nods, and pokes you non-threateningly in the chest. "Well, if you're into boxing, you oughta take a look at the masked tournament they're having in a month or so. Faces concealed, obviously, but a regular can tell who's who. It's for charity. The prize is a set of specialty boxing gloves and a belt made for the occasion." He shrugs and begins to walk back inside. "I'd participate myself, but I won't be here by then. Good luck."

After he steps back inside and explains what you told him to the others, they go back to their conversation without an issue. Donna nearly faints, and Ruth walks towards her intended inner location with newfound speed.

You are Colors, the Warlock Knight. It's been a long day, full of violence (both righteous and clandestine), unfortunate conversations about your past, a negotiated exile for militia soldiers, and burlesque. To say that you're having a bit of mood whiplash would be a bit of an understatement, but a Spring Courtier is meant to live in the present, and right now that present involves you asking Fancy out on a date.

You're pretty sure it's been more than five minutes on this call.

"I mean, I've got diners that know me," you tell Ramona. "I'm just strapped on my petty cash fund after this whole thing has been going down, with the fake hotel room rental and...y'know, everything."

"Consider it solved. Alfie will handle the details. Try to have a good time."

"Yes, my Lady. Um. Thank you."

"Think nothing of it. I'm glad to see such boldness from you, Colors."

You pocket your phone and slip back into the dressing room where Fancy is still in her underwear you really should have expected that. She gives you a wry little smile and raises her eyebrows with a 'well?' kind of expression.

"Keeping in mind that I might die tomorrow?" you begin, carefully.

"How big a 'might' is that?" your friend asks, worried.

"...You ever read one of those articles talking about how scientists have a hard time telling normal people things because they have to use language that seems ambiguous?"

"It's like that?"

"It's like that," you agree. "I'm confident, just...realistic. Battle isn't safe."

"Go on then," the dancer prompts. You take a deep breath and lace your fingers together.

"There's a shop where I work glass, sometimes. I'd like to take you there, and to dinner after. As. Y'know. There's a word for this."

"A date?"

"That'stheone."

Fancy laughs, and she smiles, and your heart melts a little. "What does a gal wear to glassmaking?"

"Uhh...honestly, things that won't trail or light on fire? Do you. Do you have anything like that here?"

"Colors. This is a dressing room."

You step back outside to wait. Fancy leaves the room, eventually, in slacks and a short-sleeved shirt, with her purse over her shoulder and her hair pulled back into a bun. "I'm driving," she announces. "You just give me directions."

Fancy's car isn't anything to write home about; the old Chevy is only alive because she maintains it herself, a fact you had to see to believe if only because you could not reconcile 'bunny costume' and 'auto mechanics'. The bottom of the car fights an ongoing war with rust from the winter road salting, which it is barely managing to win with Fancy's help, but she rides smooth and makes decent mileage, and that's all a dancer's budget could really ask out of a car. You get into the passenger's side, buckle up, then tighten your seatbelt.

"You never did tell me why you don't drive," Fancy comments, as she gets into the car.

"I am not anywhere near drunk enough for that, and it's super depressing," you not-explain. She starts the car up, and the two of you drive off.

> Small talk. SMALL TALK
> So...how long have you been thinking about this, Fancy?
> Ask her about something (what?)
> Write-in?

Fucking cockblocked by writer's block, sorry this took so long. Tomorrow will be better.

War has come for the New Necrotic Armada.

The initial attack by the Ahkam fleets was fierce as they emerged from their Storm Gates, swarms of fighters filling the void of space between hundreds of sub and capital warships. Bolts of energy hundreds of kilometers long leap between their hulls from the lingering charges of Arc energy that makes the vessels indistinct and flickering as the light warps and distorts around them.

Urdir, home to much of the Armadas shipyards and mining operations, was struck hard by the fleets that appeared in orbit over one of the industrialized worlds. Orbital bombardments rained across the surface, kinetic rounds and Arc infused explosives detonating in massive fireballs of heat and energy against the shields protecting the Reconstructed structures. The shields held for a time but they rapidly began to overheat from the attacks, the tower-like emitters melting to slag as the systems struggled to accommodate only to fail one by one.

The attack against the Armadas shipyards came at a price though, reinforcements from the other two heavily industrialized worlds sending their picket fleets to assist their sister world. Thousands of newly craft warships converged on the burning world, walls of Reconstructed ships closing in like the jaws of some impossibly large creature as they cut their teeth on the invaders. Brilliant emerald beams of Necrotic Flayers streak across the stellar void, trading fire with bolts of Arc lightning that leave burning afterimages. The skies of the rocky world glow with the countless fragments of Ahkam and Armada warships as they fall into the atmosphere toward vast fields of burning metal and rubble where the shipyards once stood.

Further in the system where the Armada once made the Matriach bleed the frozen world of Legion's Home prepares itself for the inevitable battle. Legionnaires, many in the midst of their training, rush to follow the commands of Officer Dretst as she organizes their forces. Commanded by Rethak personally to protect and guide the next generation of the Legion she works tirelessly thanks to the stream of stimulants from her Spinal Tap, sending Legionnaires to the ships waiting in orbit or to the bunkers and hidden fortresses hidden in the ice. She knew the fates of these soldiers, many of them formerly soldiers of the invaders themselves, relied on her guidance and she pauses only to occasionally offer up a prayer to the Wormstar for its protection before returning to her frantic work.

Deep under the ice where the Blackscales carried out their twisted experiments the lone Necromancer Guir watches reports of the invasion. He stood in a cloning chamber, pods incubating the first batch of their grand project arrayed behind him while a demi-Think Tank projected a holoscreen for him. Hissing faintly he grumbles to himself about how he should've gone with his brother and sister, a complaint he's repeated in the hours since the Ahkams arrival.

In the Bastion system thousands of Ahkam ships emerged from the Storm Gates over the toxic world, wiping away the the patrols and picket fleet within moments as kinetic rounds and swarms of countless strikecraft tore away their shields and hulls. They formed into two vanguards and split their attentions on their two prizes.

While Urdir was the system that the Armada made the Matriach bleed, the Bastion system was where they denied the Matriarch of priceless treasures.

Rukor stood heavily guarded by a combined fleet of the Armada and Obsidianborn, their blockade stalling the attackers for several hours as they whittled away at each others forces. The massive Treeships sent by the Armatocere hold the line, their Thorn fighters shedding from their hulls like pollen in a storm to duel with the swarms of strikecraft mainly composed of the esat fighters. Several times groups of Destroyers and Battlecruisers that are recognized as specializing in orbital bombardment of both ground troops and weaponry attempt forcing their way through the blockade only to be stalled and turned away by the network of Terrordromes protecting the planet like a net.

Alarms rang out over the cities of the ructu, urging them to seek shelter as they rush from their homes to the bunkers built by the Armada. Terrordrome halves float over the shimmering shields that protected the ructu capital city. Stonestar warriors from Bastion stand alongside Legionnaires as they helped the ructu natives prepare, the waters around the protected cities swarming with aquatic Reconstructed just below the surface.

The force of Ahkam invaders that turned outward toward the supermassive gas giant and its moon of Bastion found themselves stalled as they attempted to cross the asteroid belt that split the system. They were initially hounded out among the hollowed out asteroids where thousands of Armada and Obsidianborn strikecraft came pouring out of hidden hangars, Nails and Gunships fighting alongside Stonestar piloted Dervish fightercraft to rip into the foremost invaders. Crit-bombers race alongside the Ahkam ships, the bioships deploying clouds of crit crawls in their wakes so the volatile Reconstructed could carry out their eager tasks.

From deeper within the asteroid field emerged the defending fleet, capital ships using the asteroids as shields to fire from behind. Where an asteroid had been mined and hollowed their interiors were replaced with countless missilepods and mounted guns, lonely Pilots and demi-Think Tanks unleashing their arsenals before they are shot down or detonated. Where the Ahkam thought there was only lifeless stone hidden Shockdromes and Obsidianborn defensive craft lash out at passing vessels, their powerful necrotic and geokinetic weaponry carving through shield and hull before they could retaliate.

The serpents are at the gates and their war has come for you and the Armada
