You look on in silent consternation as the libations of rich, undiluted wine are poured, cast among the ashes. You feel the absurdity common to those on deathbeds, as you watch the ashes of the man who raised you cast into the pit, to be drawn to the fields of asphodel. He was a good man, stout of heart and frame, pious before the gods and stern among his family, and you remember him, if not fondly, then with great respect. His eye cast down many a youthful lie, and you almost laugh, surrounded by solemnity as you are, to remember the reproach he levied upon a childhood rival of yours in the village for the theft of a handful of olives. The smell of ash fills the warm, gentle breeze, and you sigh under your breath, before turning away, leaving the servants to finish affairs. You stand on a hillside, on the edge of a copse of oaken trees, looking out over the lands that are now yours.

First, at the base of the hill sits the family home. A wide, square house, built around a courtyard, with terraces of orange tile over white-plastered stone. Your father was a proud man, and though the family's finances suffered under him, he would never permit the house to fall into disrepair. You know from your perch atop the hillside that each of the rooms of the house are as well maintained and clean as any in the region, with austere, but fine couches and beds comfortably adorned in plain wool. A few smaller houses are arranged around your own home, the homes of the various farmhands and servants employed on the farmstead, smaller affairs, more like soldier's bunks than homes. The farm's facilities are meagre at best, sacrificed to maintain the home your father was so proud of, foolish of him.

A small hut for butchering and the smoking of meat sits behind the house, while a sheepfold and single stable sit a short walk from the house. The sheep resemble clods of chalk, or quicklime, cast across the rich spring grasses of the hills. Your flock is not large and suffers greatly from poaching and from the shirking of your shepherds. No cow is to be seen on your land, the last having been slaughtered over the harsh winter, but an ageing Ox, by the name of Ajax, sits in the stable, the last animal left to pull the plough. Two fields lie fallow, overgrown with grasses for the sheep, while another two on the other side of the farm lie infertile from the last year's harvest, leaving only two fields to be sown with seed this year, not yet ploughed. Along with these six fields, and the stretch of the hillside, up to the oak trees behind you, a small copse of willow trees, clustered around a stream, rest at the edge of the family estate, from whence you draw your water.

Your eldest sister, Agatha, stands beside you, and sighs, looking out and contemplating the land as you do. You are the inheritor of the place, and your unmarried sisters fall to your responsibility too. The years to come may be harsh, but you shall strive on if you are your father's son.

You descend to the house for the evening, walking in silence along the dirt path, your three sisters following in silence. Agatha is the oldest, and perhaps the wisest, though she is not much of a beauty, her frame worn by farm-work where her sisters are left uncalloused. Aristone is the second eldest sister of yours, though younger than you, unlike Agatha, and is perhaps the most beautiful. Her rich black hair sits in flowing ringlets, and her bright eyes show a keen, warm intellect. She is easily the most marriageable of your sisters, a year into her maturity, and eager to find a husband. Your youngest sister, Sophia, is but a child of ten, with the simple handsomeness of youth about her, and with a great appreciation for you. She has grown up to admire you, more friendly to her than your stern father, and it was you who arranged much of her upbringing, her tutors and such.

As a result of your tutelage, she is the most like you and follows you in all things, even in her lack of feminine delicacy. She is eager to live as you do, managing the affairs of the land, and you worry that she will be hard pressed to find a husband, no matter how much you care for her. The four of you walk through the small collection of worker's houses, just as the sun begins to fall below the horizon. Perhaps twenty men and women dwell on and work within the farm under your command. Five are house-slaves of your family, including Sophia's tutor, and a further five are indentured workers, one of the only real benefits gained by your father's work in settling legal disputes, since these men and women are now indebted to your Line. The remaining nine or ten men are seasonal workers, employed for the sowing season, and paid by the day of work. The weeks to come will require hard work, and if all goes well, you will make a comfortable profit, barring any tragedy.

As you return to the house, you realise, with some magnitude, that all the farm is yours now. Yours to manage, and yours to concern yourself with. You spend the night going over and over the supplies stored in the cellars of the house. Three Amphorae of Olive Oil, four of Wine, a fair amount of sheep's cheese, and perhaps six bushels of barley. Along with a few bags of seed-stock for barley, the tools owned by each of your farm workers, a plough, a heap of firewood, a few sheep's pelts and smoked half-lamb, there is almost nothing else to be found. By some stroke of luck, however, as you look through the mostly empty cellar, you notice something behind the piled up baskets.

>What do you see?
>An old fruit press, for the pressing of fruit, grapes or olives, for the production of olive oil, wine, or other drinks. A fine thing, to be rented out to other landholders or kept for use on any harvests of olives or fruit.
>A Hoplon shield and spear, along with a linothorax, a suit of lacquered cloth armour. With this on hand, you could more properly defend your farmstead, with help.
Cont.
>>
> A full cheese-press and mixing vat. With this equipment, you could produce sheep's cheese far faster, preserving sheep's milk and adding some variety to your diet. Of course, you could also sell the cheese for an extra profit.
>A millstone, and the equipment to build a crank for it, to grind barley into flour without having to rent another farmer's mill.
> A few pickaxes and stone hammers. The equipment to begin work on masonry, and to begin quarrying stone, if you can find a mason with the right expertise.

Welcome, welcome to VHQ 4!

I haven't done much since last time, what with the year-round school I'm attending. We still need choices for Simeon and Henrietta's level ups. Alternately, I could just choose that for you if you would like.

Last we left off, Middle manager-turned-Vault Hunter Baal, has joined his vault hunting companions on top of the massive super fortress/killer robot known as TR1-UM-VR8. The current plan: Blow this fucker sky fucking HIGH! To do that, you need to know where it can be hurt the worst, prevent some pesky distractions (Hyperion reinforcements) and find some timed explosives that you can use for the dirty deed.

The four of you have decided the best course of action is to divide and conquer. Simeon and Flora will cease control of the Comm Tower that links Triumvirate to the giant H in the sky. While you are in charge of stealing a copy of the schematics of the robot you are currently on. Your partner in this venture is Henrietta, your resident gunbunny and artillery aficionado. She is still in blissful contentedness at holding onto a genuine RokSalt. Your RokSalt, that is. The one you beat a small assaut squad of Loaders, Engineers, and a Loader. You don't mind, though. You're more of a Dahl weapons guy anyway.

>Make small talk with Henrietta. She's easily the one of your companions you know the least about. (Ask her a question about herself)
>Keep an eye out for hiding Hyperion workers in silence.

Titans Quest, takes place in the DC universe and focuses on Teen Titans team. In particular it focuses on you, Adam Issacs, a new member of the team who has been active in the cape community for a little over a month. Currently you have been given an extremely minor leadership role with in the group. As the quest goes on you might remain on the team to as a mentor or even leader, move onto the Justice League, or go solo either as a hero or villain. Maybe you’ll fuck up big and wind up drafted on the Suicide Squad. You might even save the world here and there, maybe even land a date land another date.

The Titans are a New York based team of former sidekicks/young adult heroes who have decided to help train and support teenagers/new heroes just starting out on their own. Naturally while this quest is based on the DC comics universe, things are different. Superheros haven been around since forever, especially since WWII, but the Justice League has only been around a little less than ten years. The Teen Titans, have been active now for eleven months and are a little obscure except to news hounds, New Yorkers, and super hero fanatics. On the broader scale, a lot of big villains and heroes haven’t made their debut. Darkseid and the rest of the New Gods are a mystery, Trigon is a myth, and Booster Gold is still a washed up security guard a couple of centuries into the future.

Welcome to the New Age of Heroes

Deathstroke.jpg
15KB, 236x392px
He looks different than before. While his armor was still looked like a terrifying union of high optic fabric and metals, the mesh now had slicker but more integrated metals. The dark blue had been replaced by a much brighter blue, making his uniform look more like a chipper and warm. Murder was no longer all somber and business, now it was a festival that only the Titans and Deathstroke were invited too. As his face smiles, the mask shifts perfectly along with it not hiding whatsoever behind the fabric and steel. Slade only offers a smile as he outstretches his hand, opens his it, and then flexes his fingers towards himself. A warm invitation to what probably is a battle to the death.

Raven screams and runs towards him before you can get up, still shook from the rocket propelled grenade that only just barely missed you. You rise up only to fall to your knees, reaching out in vain as a dark wind flows around Raven as she thrusts a leg encased with shadow towards him. It hits nothing but air, as Deathstroke just backsteps a few inches to his left. Raven flings herself around, uncoiling like a whip, extending a hand holding a black orb constantly shifting small jolts from it, before he merely slaps it away, his mask bending into a facsimile of boredom. The ball merely grazes him, his suit emitting a low whine in response, before floating harmlessly into a light pole which folds and crumples into a small beach ball sized hunk of steel, as Deathstroke drives a knee into Raven. She only has time to hunch over, before Deathstroke backhands her with the pummel with the one of two katanas sending Raven reeling into a hanging potted plant, which smashes on her head.

“I’m not going to lie, so far I’m very disappointed. This is what has been giving H.I.V.E such a hard time. They’re getting sloppy.” Deathstroke says, as you finally get to your feet and rush in front of Slade.

“I’m kinda disappointed in you too Slade. You even waved your usual fee for me, very unprofessional behavior from the consummate professional Deathstroke.” You answer, locking your eyes into where his would be if not covered by his masks.

Deathstroke laughs for a moment in good humor, his mask now a two faced avatar of the theater of comedy. His head bobs up and down a bit, but his hands remain steady, not just staying still but shifting into a different guard as he examines your stance. Subtly as well. A man who seems like he could mix business and pleasure if he wanted too, though he preferred not too. He moves towards you a few steps and returns your gaze.

“Damn was it H.I.V.E who slipped up or me? Maybe it was the fixers in Gotham, last time I use their service to iron out contracts. Well done.” Slade says, the two of you starting to circle each other.

You are the Courier. Caught in the thick of yet another battle as your forces continue their incessant march on the divide. It has been three weeks since your assault began and asides a missing companion and yourself being trapped, progress goes swiftly.

The ZAX reports that robotic casualties are kept minimal thanks to the use of ample surplus armor on the Hazard robots, which are performing exceptionally well with support from heavy weapons by your various tanks, artillery, and heavy bastion robots.

However, progress is necessarily slow due to the presence of mines which must be cleared, scattered enemy positions, use of tunnel networks, and incessant attacks day and night by an enemy almost as indefatigable as you. In response, General Kreger and the ZAX opted to open up a second front to try and squeeze the enemy between two prongs of your forces.

Meanwhile you find yourself underground, having escaped some sort of illusion thanks to a mysterious voice and light.

Having narrowly escaped falling, you find yourself in, what you now percieve as, a human mining barracks. There the lockers and mining equipment stand, not on a backdrop of an ancient alien vessel, but of a common human built mine.

To the other side of the room you find two auto-docs, one smashed beyond repair the other in non-working condition and will take some time to repair. You are in need of it as your legs are still massively injured and throbbing even as stimpaks try to help recover some of the damage.

Meanwhile, the battle rages on above and you ask your commanders and companions for advice.

>Kreger
“I favor a more conservative approach. I believe we can convince the Marked Men to retreat. I’ve seen that not all of them are so incredibly fanatical as to wish to burn to death in the face of our flamethrowers.
My suggestion is to do a forward push with troops and leave the pocket open and allow them to retreat as we push them out. It would be safest and be the path of least resistance. We can shore up our defenses after that.”
>ZAX(MAJOR)
“We aren’t taking prisoners and they aren’t giving us any. We’re going to kill them all anyway, might as well kill them now.
Close the pocket, and cook em like rats before they come back to bite us in the ass! Attack attack attack!”
>CAIN
“I say we focus on rescuing the Courier and maybe the Axe Guy. These big battles always have some general or boss type at the top right?

Do this the way me and my old Brotherhood squad solved our problems. We grab our best boys, go find the general and kill him and all his men. They’ll scatter after that.”

>Chinese
The Chinese suggest digging in and calling building heavy weapons to obliterate the city.

It's the year of our lord 1095 AD. And it's the start of the new year, and you are a knight swore to the local lord.

Breathing in the cold crisp air, you wonder to yourself what this new year will entail, you are a young enough lad knighted 2 years ago, making you 23 year old. You can still remember it as a fond memory as you look off in the distance.

"Arise, Sir Knight" The words echo throughout your mind. As you watch from the castle wall, the peasants working to and from in the cold weather that is winter. You don't envy them, as you been chosen by God, to be born at a higher status to become a knight, too bad you were the middle child and all your parent's wealth will go to your older more successful brother Arthur. He had been arms deep in guts and blood while you been having trouble finding a thief or bandit.

Walking down the stairs, you are dressed in a surcoat that has yellow and red checkered pattern, with chain under it, and padding under that, allowing you to stay warm and agile if you happen to come across.

Coming down the steps, you pass through the castle gates, and as you go mount up your horse for your daily patrol around the area, a frail peasant stands in your way.

"M'Lord you got to help the village. Our flock of sheep, they be taken one by one in the middle of the night. You got to help or we may not last through winter."

How do you response? (You can write in dialog)

SSS works on an extremely simple multi-PC system; each player starts with a USP .45, a simple knife, and how they use their tools afterwards will make the game count. The system is based on rounds, and death is permanent; once no more players are alive, the game restarts back in the classroom, and another round begins.
Ammunition and more weapons will be dropped by police officers, or you can buy them between every round. Other various supplies can be found, allowing you to make items to help you on your journey. The longer you survive, the more pressure there is-- and the more cash you get. In between rounds, you can buy additions to assist you, like skills, medical bags, supplies, and even rewards for going on a rampage.
Every few waves, there will be a boss waiting to cut your shit out and tear through your defenses. Killing them will allow you to get loot, cash, and the rare chance of obtaining a Key, basic items that unlock new items automatically when the round ends.

More questions will be answered later, the team starts in the front of the school-- let's do this.

OH SHIT NIGGER(s) it's an adventure about killing vampires n shit.

3 vampire hunters, 1 little girl and a robutt, is going to infiltrate a vampire castle to kill the head vampire there for casting a spell than kept the world at perpetual night time.

While on the Vampires' side there's Bob the Vampbeast given the mission to stop these hunters.

The hunters are now currently travelling the 6th floor, making progress towards the next Elder Vampire in the castle, coming to a stop in front of two doorways.

While the Automaton is travelling with two other NPC adventurers in anothrt part of the floor.

Each character needs at least 1 player to be the voices in their head to tell them what to do n' shit.

Just name yourself something with the highlighted title under the character to identify which team you're going with. Example: Regular Hunter Faggot -> Controls Oswell the regular Hunter

Need at least 1 player for each dude, DOESN'T mean each character is limited to 1 player.

The more players each character has, the more rerolls that team gets.

Welcome to evo game (an evolution quest)!
To play, simply take one of the creatures posted below (either one of the starting three or one that has already been evolved) and make a small change to it in the art program of your choice. The change you make should help the creature survive- bonus points if it interacts in some way with the other species. Post the new image with a brief description of the change. Repeat ad infinitum.

Every new thread I, the quest runner, will pick a few of the most successful species to carry over to the next thread. I will also implement an environmental effect that all species must adapt to if they are going to survive to the next thread.

Rules:
1) The same player can not evolve the same creature in two consecutive posts
2) If possible, use a pixel brush instead of a soft one (it makes it easier for the next person to work with)
3) Don't change too many things with a single evolution
4) A player does not 'own' a species after evolving it, any player can add to any species

The game will start after all three (3) starting species are posted.

Oh, what are you doing, you stupid fuck? You can’t possibly be thinking of running a quest, are you? Scrolling across the countless threads on the catalog, the desire to put out something you would want to read fills you with incredible strength, possibly enough to carry you through a whole day without disappointing the grand total of three people who would read your quest!

As you smile at this sunshine-filled possibility, you quickly realize that you were about to start typing without even reading the sticky. Fuck that noise, you’d rather go check out the “quest thread general” whatever this is. You can sniff out drama a mile away, and your cursor moves faster than your thoughts as you enter this mysterious place. The first thing to be noticed is the wall of text and countless links. Booooring, you’ll just scroll down. Rolling your eyes as you read the vapid filth literal nobodies and retarded namefags continue to spit out, you wonder if the ID system is a good idea.

It takes you about a whole minute to realize there’s nothing good to be found here, so you just start up your thread instead.

Let’s see, what should you make a quest on?
>Fanfiction quest of that popular anime!!!
>This incredible FANTASY OC QUEST you’re really excited to share.
>A civ quest, obviously.
>One based on a tabletop rpg system.
>Self-insert greentext story.
>Write-in.

Welp we are in a pickle, for one we dont exactly know how to beat this fucking pile of warp slime we call Tzeentch but he also seems to be at an impasse, well he does only have two cards left so maybe we can find a way to get out of this.

on the other hand we have no idea what an ultragame is so maybe we should ask the clown friend about that.

actually we should have asked him how to win with this deck.

welcome to guardsman quest.

alright quick and dirty, this quest is not for die hard lovers of cannon since fun and shenanigans beat cannon for the most part. Though I will accept info about the warhammer 40k universe general rule of thumb is fun is king here

you sigh and set the pot on the field, alright we need to know what this fucker has. "alright slime I place down Exodia the forbidden on the field." you then laugh at the god "so Tzeentch how will you win now?"

"what do you mean mortal?"

"I mean how will you win considering that in two turns you will be out of cards and you will loose."

"really? you think so?"

"I know so. so throw your best at me monster!"

"very well then mortal. do you end your turn?"

"yes."

"good on my turn I activate jar of Avarice, I put five cards from my graveyard into my deck and guess what I'm picking!"

"YOU FIEND!"

"YES THOSE MAGICAL EXPLOSIONS YOU TOOK FROM ME AS WELL AS TWO POTS OF GREED!"

"Impossible how could I have overloo.... you know what fuck you. I activate jar of greed and put five cards into my deck."

"cute."

"fuck you," you swiftly grab the exodia pieces you lost as well as the pots. alright lets hope we can get there. you suddenly notice that the harpy's feather duster just glowed and now it's a solemn judgement, the fuck "clown?"

"hay T tried to cheat, I dont see why I cant."

"thanks." you smile as you draw your two cards

(give me a 1d100 roll, this is a luck roll to see what you get form the deck.)

You sit eating your sandwich in the Kellowitz deli. The brown mustard goes perfect with the hand sliced ham and swiss, it's so hard to find a good joint to get a sandwich and a beer. Having that thought you realize you've polished off the last of your brew.

You head behind the counter and into the back room opening the cold box. Inside squirming bound with zip-ties and tape over the mouth is Jeff Kellowitz himself. You reach around him and grab another chilled bottle of 'Founders Ale' brand beer and crack it on the edge of the ice chest.

"Ready to pay the protection money you owe Don Bonetti now?" You ask before taking a sip. You lean down and pull the tape off his mouth.

"I really don't have it Luca, I promise if I could pay I would."

>You'll pay, even if it isn't your money. Scrounge from friends and family and hope it's enough. You have until midnight.
>You got a nice ride Jeff, we'll hold onto the car until you can pay.
>Then I'll just have to cover the difference in property damage
>Then I'll just cover the difference in hospital bills
