I was thinking I might as well run the quest for three hours and earlier, tomorrow it'll continue around 3:30.

LAST TIME: You met some people, saw a guy get killed, got super powers, beat two parahumans, talked with a voice in your head, and reported a little girl to the PRT


As you hang up the phone you hear the sounds of dogs barking, probably strays. But considering you have an alien's voice in your head and you have nuclear and molecule related powers.

You can't help but feel paranoid.

You also feel a soreness in your throat, odd.

You are Cobalt, son of the late Librarian, and you have rebuffed your brother's kindness.

"They need you more than me," you told Oak, cutting off his protests. "I will lead the frontal assault. The Bag will protect me from some of the worst of it."

Your group contains eight of your brothers and sisters, scrambling between the tangled trees and leaping over the fetid waters of the Mire. The predators down here do not always feed solely on flesh, and there is no room for error in this plan.

A deep rumbling voice that sends ripples through the dark water arrests your advance.

"Treason then, is it?" the Wyrm intones. His vast bulk slithers through the press of tress, bending but not breaking them as he moves. Your group turns to watch his movements. "I must confess surprise. I had thought the Librarian would stay his course and leave me to do battle with the Heritor alone."

"Do you really care who brings you down?" you ask. You pull the laces of the Six Demon Bag, opening it for use.

"Oh no, Cobalt. Who grants me death is immaterial. How, on the other hand..."

"Just accept it," you intone. "Don't throw the world away for your selfish desires, Wyrm. You were a noble beast, once."

"Once," the dragon agrees, a trace of sorrow in his voice.

His roar, sudden and violent, flattens the trees you are standing in; it blows the water away in a gargantuan spray, exposing mud and raw rock, and batters you and your brothers. You manage to clutch hold of an outcropping of stone, but most of your team isn't as lucky; wood cracks against stone, sending gears into jarring, arrhythmic patterns.

"If you want your glory, come claim it," the Wyrm challenges, before the water comes crashing back, submerging you in muck. You leap on instinct, grabbing at a protruding branch, and pull yourself up.

The dragon's tail passes beneath you, spraying water as it goes, and throws two of your siblings into the blind dark. Harsh cracks tell you how their flight was halted.

Greetings Everyone
this is my attempt to get a little help to determine the future of this land with a little fun for everyone as well. (hopefully) What I am going to do is put up some factions and have people pick which ones they want to be in an then go from there on expanding their empire.

Basically you will be playing on one of the two islands, The kingdoms of Poc'Krin a place of animals with varying intelligence and currently under chaos. Then there is Gialoft, which host both savage plant creatures and civil ones as well.

There will be a list of factions each with an opening position that can be filled only once, but not all of them must be filled.

These are

Leader: King , Emperor, etc

General: Deals with outside threats

Grand Diplomat:

High Priest:

Magister: Courts Wizard

Marshal: Deals with the exploration of land

Royal Enforcer: Deals with the inside threats of the kingdom

Spymaster: saboteur and info gatherer

Treasurer: keeps tabs on money approves building to be made.

These lands hold scattered tribes within in with some tribe lord fighting over land with others.

Alister Dewpelt: Rally my friends for we are lost in this strange new gift, but do not dispear for I know we all can help the other find the way! There is no need to kill and eat one another when we each hold a better future that will make this land equal for all!

Alister is a fox who saw the nightmares of their primal instincts as a shell of their past and knows they can find something better. He strives to acomplise these dreams and become king so he can help everyone, predator and prey, become equal and help them all live together in peace, but he will need allies.

Savage and cruel are all that this great snake know and his ways are of the strong and that is what will strive in these lands and those who do not wish to be the next to be swallowed be his pack would be wise to fall under his banner, for he knows the savagery of a predator can now be twisted into any creature and does not care who you eat in his name, weather it your own kind or your own family for he will delight in seeing the world in blood and his followers bathing in it.

(Prey are allowed in this faction, because what is more brutal then a deer whose mouth is covered in blood?)

Leafshire
Hear the gentle and small Leshy folk tend to groves of well maintain trees and brush, well versed in the ways of nature they are able to tend old plants into new use and make their homes grow into the trees. That are abundant in Gialoft. Though their fragel bodies make them likely to be picked off by the more primal plant that lurk the woods.

Leshy are small plant like creatures that can be grown by high level caster and can take up to to a month to grow. There are several kinds of leshy with distinct ability's and specialist in certain areas

The First of the Ghoran grew from the seed pools of a great tree that grew into the mountains. Now they carve their homes into those vary mountains. Now with shelter the curious plant creatures wonder the woods aimlessly in search for new experiences and many will be lost if a strong hand can not focus them.

Ghorans produce amazingly succulent fruit-like meat when fully grown and predators hunt them down for it. Within the hole of their abdomen is a small single seed which the Ghoran can plant and after 24 hours grow back in a new body leaving the old one a dead husk

And right now, you stand across from your teammate and friend, Izumi Yayoi, in a training room aboard a Carrier for Dynamic Methods; another Outgoer mercenary outfit you’ve been subcontracted to help fight a war with. She’s doing a few last minute warmups, which you find a bit amusing- you haven’t really NEEDED warmups in ages. But, then again, never a horrible idea. Might as well go into a few stretches before you have it out, yourself.

“So, you sure on the restrictions?” you ask as you lean down. “You’re the one who mentioned going all-out.”

She nods halfway, in the middle of a split stretch. “True, but I was speaking physically. Aren’t you still recovering from your own bout of mana depletion?” Well, she wasn’t wrong. This place was thick with residual mana, but you still weren’t exactly topped off.

“I’m good enough to throw some stuff around as long as it’s nothing too major.” you remark. Considering it was a day until the op, you’re not really keen on going on there half-loaded. Maybe you’d need a dip in the mana basin yourself…

“Then we’ll keep it to the simple things, how about that? That way I won’t just immediately run rings around you, hm?” She smiles like she’s doing you a favor, not that you can’t tell the actual teasing behind her words.

“Sounds fair,” you concede.

Izumi was good at a great many things, but she valued sheer speed and agility over raw power. You have the edge on her in physical might, but being able to touch her is a different story. She’s not blindingly fast (for you to track, at least), but you’ll have to be firing on all cylinders to keep pace- one wrong move or guess and she’ll be on you before you can blink. The good thing is that she’d need a number of correct strikes to down you, tough as you are, whereas you could probably get her down with fewer strikes. Of course, she’d know this, too.

That’s where the game lies. Won’t be easy, even just sparring.

You both assume fighting positions, and for some time, there is quiet. Utter silence.

“Go!” And with that she immediately dashes towards you, her hands lighting up with something.

Welcome one and all to Kobold Civ Quest. Ran something like this years ago on /tg/ and, [s]with nothing better to do[/s] because I like you guys so much, I decided to give this another shot on /qst/.

Real fucking simple premise here; You're a group of Kobolds that just recently got your shit kicked in by some other assholes that we'll determine later on, and your whole goal is to find a new place to settle down, recoup your losses, and seek revenge!

Or, you know, end up dying.

Previously on Kobold Quest: Khumgrin and the others tried to make amends with the only surviving Bullywug of a surprise attack, Horgin, in order to appease the rest of his tribe and not get them all killed.

Traveling to the Bullywug's village they met with their queen, Booey Wooey, and was given a quest to return a Demi-God's axe to him. Only problem is that this Demi-God lives in a volcano.

You've fought giant crabs, groups of Bullywugs, and survived the destruction of your home. But nothing compares to Snas' tiny hands slapping you across every part of your body.

"Ow ow ow!" You try to shield your money maker of a face as best you can, after all it's not often Kobold's are born with a snooter as good lookin' as yours, but Snas seems to just take that as a challenge to slap you harder. "Snas calm down-"

"CALM DOWN?!" She screams as she tries to slap you. "Cragg lives in Doom's Peak Khumgrin, DOOM'S PEAK!"

"Maybe he just lives at the base of the volcano?" You try to sound reassuring, but Snas thrusting the map into your face and showing where Booey Wooey clearly wrote "inside volcano, not at base" along with a little picture of her giving a thumbs up makes it clear that yes, you'll have to go inside the volcano. "Oh...Well it's not all bad. We're Kobolds, we love the heat!"

Snas sighs loudly, teeth grinding as she rolls up the map and begins stomping away, muttering curse words that you didn't even know to herself.

Dusting yourself off you turn to Gex and the twins, who just give you a small shrug in response.

Drussith's Dread knights ride through the forest as fast as their steeds can take them and find the road on the other side.

Behind them, both the skeletons of the death wizard and Ozca's shieldbreakers follow the road as given, as do the slaves in the south.
The death wizard Fernien butchers the last of the wounded for a +1 mag.

The goblins around Drazza get into position (btw Drazza, the wait has given all your goblins +4 morale by now, so they should be at full) while the one goblin horde she sent out still scours the forest.

There, at the forest a cautiously optimistic witch agrees to a parley with the man in the spiked armour, who gets off his horse and walks towards her with a forced smile on his unnaturally tightly skinned skull. She holds the dead rabbit tightly still.

The barbarians regain +2 morale as they stare off with the armoured humans.

And somewhere, an electric zapping noise erupts. A part of the river is disrupted with green light that upturns earth around and turns it ashen cold. The riverbed collapses in on itself and forces the river to go around, while the whole ground seems to be plowing itself continously. Goblin shaman -1 mag

The first clash of the heavy riders into orcs rips a hole into their tight defense (-2 str), and the continous following fight is similarely harsh on the orcs, while shining knight armour is barely stcratched (-2 str)
If your elements are bellow 50% right now, roll skill to avoid route. you get boni for morale and whatnot of course.
In the fight, Azith himself... roll 1d6+2 to know what.

What harms the knights somewhat more comes in from the flank where the humans clash into it. Though that comes with the price of also taking the brunt of the heavy weaponry of the enemy (-4 str).

Albion, aspirant to the favour of the nameless CHAOS, sees a delicious oportunity: the green knight has somehow been dismounted, wether his horse had deserted him in the charge or had been killed, through some misfortune (or a 6) he has lost his steed. Albion could fight him now on even terms - though it WOULD mean leaving his element to dive into the enemy, leaving their command and protection.

All the girls pressed their faces against the security glass. You decided a good walk around would do them some good before you decided to do anything grand with them. Danner had assured you that the venue in the next few days was ready to receive you. Azuma was in charge of the special effects and basically everything in there for now. So he was there while you were taking the girls out on a walk. Behind you were Mills and Burkett. The rest of the staff were back at the hotel getting things nice and tidy for the girls.

And as for the girls? They all gazed in awe of the Apollo Eleven Lunar Lander. Here on the Moon, there was a park dedicated entirely to memorials to the space exploration pioneers like Yuri Gagarin, Valentina Tereshkova, Alan Shepard, the Apollo One, the Apollo Eleven, and the developer of the Cherenkov Drive: Anton Ivanovich Cherenkov.

They weren't statues however. Instead, it was a large black reflective block sunken down like an antlion's pit, reflecting back the galaxy above the Moon. On this block were engravings of each step forward towards space exploration. And in the center of it all, the original Apollo 11 landing site. It was actually quite a good memorial. Reminiscent of Maya Lin design to be honest.

But unfortunately, it was just you and the girls there. The park itself was kept quite nice and neat by the Park Rangers. But you had a chat with one of them as the girls ooh'd and awe'd at the site where man first set foot on another world. “Yeah. Nobody really comes here anymore. Occasionally we get a field trip full of kids, or maybe someone doing a report for their essay or something. But not a lot of people come around this site around.”

“Why's that?” you ask.

He shrugs, his grey moustache twitching a little. “People just don't really appreciate their own history anymore. They'll look back to see what kind of things not to do. But they won't understand the why of it. I mean, you can pay a couple of quid to take a space elevator then some pounds to take a shuttle to Mars, only take you a few days. 21st century? Unthinkable.” He shakes his head. “Damn shame.” He goes back to sweeping the walkways.

Burkett stands next to the girls, staring at the site itself with them. “Hey, Uncle Burkett.” Olga calls to him.

“I told you-” Burkett rubs his head. “Don't call me Uncle Burkett. What is it, Olga?”

Olga points to the Federation flag next to the Lander. “Why's the Federation flag there? I thought the Americans stepped on the Moon first.”

So the Federation decided to just replace it with their own flag when they got to preserving the site. Charlie looks to you. “Lieutenant. It's really sad when all the girls have to go to me because I didn't get to go to school.” Oh? Why? She quirks her brow. Oh. Wait. War. Right. “Do you know who walked on the moon?” Naka raises her hand, she knows, but it seems she doesn't want to be obnoxious.

You wake up stranded and alone. You surroundings are unfamiliar. You are in the ruins of what looks like some great city, crumbling to the ground. You are completely naked, and sitting inside a massive crater in the middle of the street. You hear loud bangs echoing in the distance, accompanied by screams and shouts. Where are you? And more importantly... Who are you? (This is a quest I have been thinking about doing for a while, and I'm hoping to turn it into a larger project if it is successful. Once enough people join, we shall begin.)

This quest will take place on "Earth 108" in a different DC Universe. For the most part characters will have the same alias and general abilities but the backstory and some villains entirely will be homebrew.

I'll discuss dice systems and such when we begin but before we start we need to get some set up out of the way.

New players are always welcome!

In this quest you assume the role of an aspiring student who is about to enter the Mageknight Academy. You must hone your skills, make some friends (and perhaps also some enemies) and fight battles in order to prove yourself worthy of graduating as a fully fledged Mageknight! Each year (every 100th turn) your character will be tested by the academy to see if your character is progressing well and meeting the Academy's high standards. After the 3rd year your character will head off into a their first mission for a final test.

How to Join:
New players must fill out their character sheets. The sheet must include the following information:
>Anyone can join at any time. Latecomers and laggers are given bonus action points to catch up with the other players.
1) Your character's full name
2) Your character's backstory, appearance and any other useful information.
3) You are given 3 Skill Points. Choose 1 starting spell and 2 other skills or spells.

How to Play:
1) Each turn you will be given 2 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions along with a 2d100 roll.
>Normally your roll must pass the [Difficulty Challenge] of 25 in order to succeed.
>Getting a 10 and below is a [Critical Failure] while 91 and above is a [Critical Success]
2) All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any actions posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.
3) After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.

Acquiring and Improving Spells & Skills:
1) Study, research, explore, train or take classes to discover and learn new spells.
2) Training an already learned spell or skill will raise it further to the next tier once enough [Progress Points] are accumulated.
4) The progress threshold is based on the Fibonacci sequence (1,2,3,5,8,...)
>Usually Spell and Skill tiers are named as Basic => Intermediate => Advanced => Expert => Master
>Alternatively you can label the tiers as T1, T2, T3 and so on.

Spellcrafting:
Spellcrafting involves fusing spells with various skills, knowledge and even other spells that your character has learned together creating a new spell or skill.
>The name of the resulting new spell will be determined by the QM. By default it will be "Cast A B C..."
>Your dice roll will affect the result of the spellcrafting. Lower rolls will result in weaker or negative version of the intended spell and vice versa.

Social Interactions:
1) Role playing with other players is a free action. Role playing with NPCs, however, will cost an action point to do so.
2) Collaborative Player-to-Player actions like trading, tutoring and PvP, will cost an action point to do so.

Combat:
1) Post 2 actions like you normally would. Your opponent will roll their own 2 actions.
2) To defeat your opponent, you must overcome their defensive or evasion roll and vice versa
>If you have not rolled an evasion or defensive roll then your opponent must pass normal DC to hit you and vice versa.
>If both combatants attacked successfully then it's a Double KO.
>If both combatants defended successfully then it's a Stalemate.

You put back the book, having learned quite a lot.

It turns out his name his Domenico Tierraverde, a pretty respected magic theorician. You write down his contact information, and discover that he lives in Madrid, pretty close to the Academy.

And if you survive you get 50 million dollars and all the boons/partners etc that comes with it!

The new batch of Orcs and Goblins arrived from the pit. One by one they are armed and sorted. Why the fuck do they smell like rotting pig shit...who knows all you know is that they are only pawns to further your goals. Your new commander, Finch has been sorting everyone into their new respective roles. The Goblins seem content not being thrown into battle as over glorified meat-shields by doing manual labor. The nearby Goblin tribes have been contacted and their Chiefs will be arriving in two days. The Wildmen however have already arrived. Their Chief stands before you.
