The early morning mist had begun to fade as you take another look over the cliff side into the valley… or was it a ravine? Well whatever it was its was, it was left behind by a massive creature that can no longer make such things and has became apart of the landscape. The steep stone walls surrounded the indented patch of land on all sides making a narrow canyon, that you could guess was made by the same beast that made this valley, the only way in or out of the valley. It made for a perfect cage to snare your marks.
Once you're satisfied that nothing seemed out of the ordinary, you pull back to the nearby tree line not wanting to give away your presence to anything that may see you as a snack and regroup with your three other companions. The first was a tall man in plated leather armor named Mezetl. He was quietly kneeling over a massive slab of bone sharpened to a deadly edge and reinforced with bands of metal, and was sharpening it for the coming conflict. The second was is dark clothing that hung loose and thin around his joints and padded around his chest, arms, and legs and had an embroidered motif of some kind bat creature in deep red strings on his back. His name was Shoda, and he was listening with half lidded eyes to your third companion, Akihito, who was talking a little too loudly and was currently shirtless.
“Look all I’m saying is, you kill more, you get more. That not unfair right?” He spoke as he balanced a long, thin, shabby looking sheathed blade on his lap. “If you guys really think you're ready for Initiation then this should be a fair opportunity to make a little extra, right?” he cocked his head back tauntingly, hands palm up as if asking for someone to challenge him. Shoda let out a tired sigh.
“It's not that it isn’t fair, it just o-”
“Don't tell me you scared you’ll lose or something?” Akihito interrupts “Come oon, you can be lazy, but i never figured you for a coward.” Shoda lets out a growl at this.
“No its that stupid rule about the alpha!” He seems to notice you walk back into the camp and realizes he was raising his voice.

Shoda takes a moment to collect himself before continuing, only to be stopped by the sound of a loud boom in the distance. Mazatl jolts up and swiftly places the massive sword on his back. “That must be it.” he says with his deep voice before jogging off past the tree line to check on the noise. You hear Akihito curse as he scrambles around for a white coat with red stains that never fully washed out and lined with fur and hastily starts trying to get it on, only to get his arm stuck in the sleeve and fall over comically. Shoda laughs as he grabs two blades, each the length of your forearm, and a belt with a number of pockets, bombs, and holsters and slowly fasten it to his hip. Mazatl comes back to confirm what you all knew. “That was the signal. Akihito we must hurry!” he excitedly rushes the struggling man as he finally get the last arm through the sleeves.
“Im hurrying, I'm hurrying.” Akihito swears between breaths as he fumbles to grip his sword before chasing after Mazatl who had shot off through the forest despite his heavy equipment. Shoda moves in the opposite direction of them both and looks to you.
“I’m going ahead. Don’t take to long, but make sure you don’t forget anything, alright.” with that he take off running leaving you alone at the camp to collect the last of your supplies.

You are Steve Steverson, a few hours ago you were just your ordinary Fighter Pilot and ladies man. But then you were struck by lightning and this hot old goddess of death sent you to another plane as her hero. Your totes going to get that date but you got sent to the wrong universe.

Which complicates things.

You recently lost your eye to a giant rat who was, according to this bartender, something he summoned that went wild when a "Tameaphone" broke.

Which raises a lot of questions. "What is a tameaphone?" You ask the bartender as the man inspects one of his cleaned glasses.

"Fuck you mean? You records a skill, in this case Tame, put it in a Sirenbox and the box will use the skill around the area. How else will you use magic?"

It appears that magic is music based here... which means your band phase in highschool may actually pay off... once you find a instrument at least.

Either way you have your four brass and the bartender has deigned to give you a list of shops, including a few resturnats you can take Baba to.

>Cogs of war: A equipment shop to get some gear
>Heap 56: A junkyard, but if you want to do engineer stuff this is a good place to get the stuff for it.
>DaVertigos: Some kinda Delmicio resturant, which appears to be steampunk italy? Likely the place for a classico date.
>Uncle Traitor's Junk in a bun: Apperantly the city you are in has a bad opinion on The United Colonies of Fuck Skyvale. Incidentally Ichorgear is a city in Skyvale. Still this place is supposed to have good sandwhiches and you'd kill for a burger. Probbably cheap.
>The Rusty Spigot: You are already here and it serves food. Well since this is victorian times so its probbably english it serves 'food'.

You are Captain Kusajishi Riku and it's time for people to stop sitting on the fence. There are only two sides in the battle for the afterlife right now: those who fall in with Aizen Sōsuke and his band of miscreants, and everyone else. This is the day when those who have unwillingly fallen into your custody over the last few months will have to decide which of those two sides they want to stand with. Prisoners of a war between a relative handful of beings with obscene power and hundreds of years worth of prowess, these are the last few holdouts whose positions you need clarified.

And so you find yourself marching towards the purpose-built jail that has served as their prison, hell-bent on getting the answers you need.

The door flies open, light streaming into the dimly-lit space from behind you and startling most of those present with an abrupt crash. Marching down the aisle between two rows of barred doors, you begin to explain the situation as succinctly as you would want were your positions reversed.

“You all knew it would come sooner or later,” you declare firmly, “a day when I would inevitably ask you who you would stand with. When I would ask who you might be willing to die with. That day is today.”

“This is abrupt,” a voice replies testily. “What's changed?”

“Absolutely nothing,” you insist.

“She needs to know where we stand,” a second voice observes.

You nod in agreement, stopping in front of the cell which houses the war-era Sternritter Liltotto Lamperd. “That's correct, miss Lamperd. In order to draw a strategic plan the Seireitei needs to know what assets it can draw upon, and whether any of them may become assets to the enemy...”

“... is what I'd say if it weren't so personal,” you amend yourself. “In reality, I've put far too much time and effort into getting quincy, shinigami, and arrancar to work side by side to see it fall apart this late in the game.”

“Is it because of your investment, or your desire to see a specific outcome?” Liltotto questions from her seat on the small bed in her cell, kicking her feet idly.

“Anymore it feels like we only fight each other because that's just what we do,” you sigh. “That's just not a good enough reason for me. So yes, I specifically want to forge a lasting partnership between everyone who's had enough of it all.”

“And you want us to fight with you?” Meninas asks for clarification. “Against our own kind?”

“Yes,” you affirm. “If you feel like you can. But what I won't do is press you into service.”

There are a few moments of contemplative silence.

“Don't misunderstand,” Liltotto tells you, “this isn't about loyalty to the Sternritter, or to Aizen. This is about the survival of our race.”

“If we side with you, and your side loses, we die and the more insane Sternritter are the only ones left,” Meninas explains, clearly showing that at least these two women have discussed the matter. “If we side with Aizen, we lose even if we win.”

“But if we stay locked up and out of it, it gives us the best chances in the long run,” Liltotto concludes. “You may see it as cowardly, and under other circumstances I'd agree. But the survival of the quincy as a whole is our only goal. And committing to fight for one side when neither is clearly ahead... I'd have to be some kind of retard.”

>What happened to your 'quincy pride'? Is cowardice something to be proud of now?
>Sounds to me like you have nothing to lose by fighting alongside Bambietta.
>And how would you feel about the situation if we offered you a brain-healing serum first?

>The Intro
Hey y'all. If you couldn't tell, this quest will be taking place in the well known DC Comics universe. Here there be gods and monsters, magicians and aliens, and even a clown or two. But bear in mind that due to various time travel related and or multiversal shenanigans, the DC world is ridiculously complex as a whole. So I'll be running a very streamlined version of it. And to be up front about it, it will likely be shaped by my own likes, dislikes, and biases.
Oh, and aforementioned shenanigans won't be making an appearance.
Mostly.

>The Rules
I will write up the life of our young hero Morgan Barret, a high school student who has just begun his career as a superhero in Gotham City as Gray Ghost, you will be given prompts to direct him.
Some things will require a dice roll to determine success or failure or something else entirely. Write In's are absolutely encouraged but I reserve the right to torpedo anything.

The voting period will last 20 minutes after the prompts are given. I will then announce the voting closed and write up the chosen response.

>The Dice
We will be using 1d100 ninety percent of the time here. Best of three. We might use something else when applicable. I'll be running with a loose sort of degrees of success/failure thing here so no real DCs.

You'll never understand why people tend to hate the rain. Water pelts one of the many windows of the classroom while the teacher drones on in the background. The rain pouring down the glass creates a watery portal to another world as you watch through it. The clouds gathered making it seem later in the day than it actually is. You've never found something to dislike about the rain, the smell, the way it waters any plants, creates drinking water for animals, and you'll take any old excuse to throw up your hood.

It's been a couple weeks since your first mission with the Titans. The Teen Titans. Dick insists they haven't completely decided on a name yet but everyone else seems to be deadset on that one. You've taken a shine to it yourself. It really ain't half bad. You've kind of been riding the high of your first real, official outing being such a success in the end. You all walked away from that HIVE molehill with a bundle of their secrets, someone they wanted to cut up for her abilities, and shut the whole place down in the process.

Speaking of your new martian acquaintance. That girls got more guts than she let on. She explained to you all how she implanted a psychic suggestion in a HIVE scientist to have them send out the signal so she could possibly get rescued. She did that just before they suppressed her whole psychic deal and threw her in a cell. Currently, she's staying at Dick's place. Apparently, the guy can bring by martian chicks and give them asylum and whoever he's staying with is cool with it. He did say you could come visit some time.

But your time in rainworld doesn't last, as you find yourself being brought back into reality by a sharp snapping next your ears. You lean away from the sound and look up to see Professor MacPherson giving you what can only be a disapproving look under her slightly green lenses. "I'm glad you're still with us, Mr.Barret, you wouldn't want to miss the details on your first large project of the year." She walks back up to the front of the class and silences the few students snickering at you with a look before continuing.

"Today, I'll be assigning your Gotham History projects." The whole class lets out a low groan but she waits until everyone is done complaining before she finishes. "This could be quite fun, if you're willing to put the work into it. Gotham has a story for every building, every statue, every crack in the ground. It's a very old city, so finding a subject that piques your interest should not be terribly difficult." She begins passing out thick packets to everyone in the class. "There are only two conditions to this assignment. One, the subject must be on Gotham history, of course. And two, you must complete the assignment with a partner."

That gets a bunch of excited murmurs rather than complaints and students start moving to secure their preferred partner. Let's see, this is one of your classes with everyone you know in it so you can have your pick if you move fast.

>Dick. He's smart, he's your bro, how can you go wrong?
>Barbara. You haven't spent much time with her but maybe you can change that? Besides, Dick claims she's smarter than him.
>Artemis. You've gotten to know her better in the last several months but she seems a little distant lately.

"Good morning, world!"

I know, I know, a silly thing to say but I just cannot help myself. Somehow, I knew the moment that I woke that today is going to be especially great. I just know it. I feel it inside.

I feel the warmth of the early morning sun softly kissing my cheek. I close my eyes a moment to listen to the faint chatter of a pair of robins, just barely audible beneath the gathering noise of the merchants setting up shop for a fresh new day. How many more mornings, I idly wonder, before they fly over the mountains to spend the winter on a sunny beach south of here? Maybe with the new skills I've learned, I could even come and visit you one day!

Would you like that, little birdies? Well, you can't answer so I'm just going to assume you said yes, and if you don't like it then you should have done like me and learnt to speak! Heehee!

"Good morning, Papa!"

He doesn't smile back. The frown on his face doesn't move even a quarter of an ain as he continues preparing the forge for another day of hard work.

"..can't even imagine where you're pulling that bright mood from." He grumbles in response.

I had completely forgotten about that. I suppose after yesterday he does have a good reason to be moody. In fact, I'm pretty sure I should be sad too. But for some reason I just don't feel like being sad at all today, not one itty bit!

Even looking at his frown now I just can't feel sad at all, even though I know it's my fault that he's upset. Well, mostly my fault anyway. I'd like to cheer him up somehow but I don't see how I could. Someone else, maybe, but it definitely can't be me today. Not unless I take back what I said. And that would be lying. So instead, I just leave him to his work and get ready for breakfast.

We usually have breakfast together, but Papa must have gotten up early today. Oh well, all the more reason for me to give him some distance today. Maybe later today, like on my way home, I can find some way to cheer him up. That'd be nice.

I finish my breakfast quickly, a slice of yesterday's bread topped with a helping of raspberry jam and an extra to eat on the way. I make sure to wash my face and make sure my clothes and hair are sitting right. I try to braid it the same way Mistre- uh, Miss Raven, did it for me the other day, but I'm not sure I did it quite right. It feels off somehow, but it'll do.

In fact, a little off might be even better since she's upset with me too. Adults love showing you how to do things right, so maybe she'll see my hair and forget that she was supposed to be mad and help me out instead! I'm so clever sometimes!

"I'll be careful today, Papa!" I tell him before heading out for the day. That seemed like the thing to be saying since..

-+- The night before -+-

"I just want to ask one thing. Whatever it is that you will learn, and do, please don't be like your sister. Stay out of danger. Whatever else you do, just stay out of danger. Because if something ever did happen to you, then.. Please, just promise me that."

I really wished that I could just say yes. It would make Papa happy if I did, and making Papa happy is very important. But if it means lying to Papa, then..

"I'm sorry Papa, but I really don't think I can make that promise. But I-"

Before I could even finish explaining he was already moving to leave, not even saying a word first!

"W-wait! Papa, let me finish!"

He paused, but said nothing. For a moment I just sat there, staring out into the dark room, realizing that I wasn't actually sure how to explain. Then he finally spoke.

"I can't, Nadja." He whispered with his back still turned. "I can't do this again. You're both just like her.."

"But I-"

"Good night, Nadja."

He shut the door before I could even try to explain. I didn't try to follow him.

-+-

I'm not sure if that line helped at all, but it's the best that I can do right now. Especially since I need to be heading out for the day, so worrying about it right now isn't going to help anyone. In fact, it seems that with every step I take through town I just keep feeling better and better, though I can't seem to quite place why. It's almost as if.. something was in the air? Or something?

It's even making my stomach tingle so much, I almost can't keep myself from laughing. Strangely though, the feeling seems to get strongest when I pass by the inn, and then slowly fade. Almost as if the happy feeling was coming from somewhere inside there. But that doesn't make sense, does it? Feelings come from the inside, not outside, don't they?

Just to make sure, I pace about for a bit and I can't deny it. I definitely feel different when I get closer to the inn. Is.. is everyone feeling this, or just me? And why here of all places? Is this some kind of magic? Who else knows magic here?!

Should I investigate? I'm not sure I really have time for this, Miss Raven is already upset with me, I shouldn't add being late unto the list. And besides, it might be dangerous!

But if it is dangerous, isn't that all the more reason that I should look into it? What if the innkeeper is using black magic to lure people into his inn? That would be evil! And I'd need to put a stop to it! Wouldn't I?

>Ignore the strangeness for now, hurry on to Miss Raven and tell her about it!
>Investigate! It's probably my duty as a witch apprentice! Protect the innocent! Right?
>Investigate! .. from a distance. It might be dangerous, and I promised Papa to be careful, so let's start by looking for any other weirdness nearby.

>>Investigate! .. from a distance. It might be dangerous, and I promised Papa to be careful, so let's start by looking for any other weirdness nearby.

Darkness.

The word doesn't give justice to the absolute absence of light that's down here.
And yet... what felt alien and hostile not too long ago has become much more gentle, almost soothing really.
For hours on end you've been down here training relentlessly, even if it only felt like a few minutes to you.
But with your new Zanpakuto becoming more and more tired you were forced to take a break.

"Are you ready Marr?"
You ask him.

"Ye...
Let's go."
But as he takes a step forward his legs give out and he falls on his knees.
"F-Fuck!"

"What's wrong?"

"N-Nothing! Just give me some of that spooge!
And... maybe a few minutes."

With a sigh you walk over to the kneeling dinosaur and mend his legs.
You didn't even realize he had such a hard time here.
Maybe this is where your adaptation and his natural resilience differ.
Yours will win in the long run.

"Sorry.
Looks like we'll have to bother you for a little longer."
You speak to the other monster in the room.

"Hmph..."
He looks at Marr and he's obviously displeased by this.
"Very well.
Do as you wish."

In response to this Marr scuttles further away from the behemoth.
"I sense some hostility between the two of you.
Care to elaborate?"

"Hostility?
Well... I suppose if someone defies the very purpose of your life then yes... hostility would describe your feelings quite well."

"I'm... sorry?"

The monsters eyes roll around in their sockets until they stop at Marr.
You can practically feel his hatred.
"That thing... he knows what he did.
You do know he was originally an animal, right?"
You nod.
"Well... all beings are capable of exceeding their limits and entering a new realm, a new dimension.
That's what the cycle of rebirth is all about. To facilitate evolution.
But... that beast broke the rules.
He defied creation itself and forced his way into the next state of existence."

"Then... you have no reason to hate him anymore.
I killed him myself and he entered Soul Society as a human.
He was reborn and then transformed back into a hollow."

"You think I don't know that?!
It still doesn't change the fact that he broke a taboo.
He is one of the few handful of people who have committed the gravest crime of all! He defied the rules of nature!
Luckily.... there aren't many like him left."

You ponder on that a bit.
"If it was such a bad crime then shouldn't he have been sent to Hell instead of the Soul Society?"

That got his attention.
"Oh... I forgot how little you know..."
The beast that was laying on his stomach up until now sat up, further drilling into your mind just how humongous it is.
"I suppose I can educate you a bit.
Ask away Kaizar Soize and I shall reveal the secrets of the cosmos to you.
But choose your question carefully, for my patience is limited."

>Then enlighten me of this universe you speak of.
>I'm curious about the Soul King... and his guardians
>Actually... I'm interested in the Quincy...

Five years ago, the warrior race known as the Saiyans were annexed into Emperor Freeza's armies. Since that day, the Saiyans have acted as the emperor's loyal servents, sent first onto dozens of worlds, exterminating all who oppose Lord Freeza's rule. Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:
Karn had a showdown with a Yautja Hunter, then went looking for a job to pay for ship repairs. His squad faced off against Lord Boros, and Meloka partially ascended. After Karn managed to break Lord Boros' armor, Boros asked his team along for a fight. Your team accepts, after haggling the price, then you all ride along on Boros' ship to your arrival on Planet Jhoria. After brutal fighting, Meloka unleashes her most powerful attack, absolutely destroying the Hive swarm attacking you. Meloka falls, and you hold her close as her life drains from her body, you helpless to save her. As you sit there holding her close, a mysterious stranger approaches you all.

"You wish to save her, don't you, Saiyan?"
the blue, white-haired alien asks, slinking up towards you. Wearing a skin-tight red and black suit and carrying a spear, she exudes confidence and a smug air of superiority as she casually approaches you all. "Yes you do. I can see it in your eyes. But there'll be a cost, for you. And we're almost out of time. Well?"
What do you say?

In ages long past, the Lussurian Empire spanned the known world. The empire's supreme magical might secured the nation's prosperity for centuries. The nation's opulence grew over time and its citizens became increasingly decadent. Corruption spread, misuse of magic skyrocketed, and in time; the whole of The Empire collapsed under its own weight. Civilization vanished.

One thousand years hence, several countries have since sprung from the ashes, magic seen as a dangerous but necessary tool. In recent years, there has been a surge of interest in that fallen empire. Scholars believe that the magic of old may yet be used properly, but lore of those times is all but gone. The ruins of that mighty age still stand, and scholastic fervor has summoned a new profession; the Treasure Hunter.

But the magic of the old empire still lingers in the unexplored ruins, and is dangerous to body and mind.

In more ways than one...

You are Alex von Delceia, Spirit Warden and graduate of The Circle of Rocca. You were born a ritual accident fusing two fraternal twins together into a hermaphrodite form.
You with your Sorceress friend, Saturia, decided to travel to the Country of Goruda to make your fortune. With the patronage of the portly Elvish Antiqutairan Molla Nosa, you headed to the south eastern corner of the country to follow a lead to a Shrine, A place of great significance to The Old Empire.

The many dangers of the shrines magic has left your figure expanded. You fought tooth and nail to get what treasures you could from that Shrine, but you managed to get Treasures beyond imagining. Now Having spoken with you contact, you discovered that The reward for the treasure is more than what your elvish friend can actually give you without declaring bankruptcy. She has given you a down payment to which you have decided to celebrate with, while your friend has gone to bed.

You reached the summit of the demon queen. The whole of the world was covered in elemental shadow. There she sat Gorged upon the souls of man. You would unseat her, topple her empire and rise up the people.

You rush for your sword charging headlong into the fray. But she explodes into the myriad of souls she had swallowed and they surge into you, mutating and changing you into a form reminiscent of the demon queen. You hear her cackling in the night and her last words echo to you.

"Ma'am here is your receipt. "

You snap back to reality, having slightly dosed off there. You were sitting at a table, and the remnants of a steak dinner with baked sweet potato and cheesecake lay before you. You rub your eyes and count out the coins for the waitress. It may have been physically smaller than the monumental breakfast you had this morning, but with no one to talk to or eat with you felt every single bite riding in your stomach. You're starting to get sugar cravings a lot more recently.

You decide to walk to the hotel, You know Saturia checked in a while ago. You two had adjacent bedrooms. Your partner in crime was fast asleep, Snoring lightly in fine silk sheets. You decided to try on some clothes. Before turning in you decided to try on some clothes.

First you try on the sweater from your winter clothes. A thing that would have been hopelessly baggy on you five days ago, now couldn't quite hide the outward curve of your bust and belly. While your torso grew forward, your hips and legs grew sideways. You didn't have too much more of a butt than you did earlier, but you hips and thighs were noticeably wider. You looked like a budding fertility idol, not quite there yet, but working on it.

You then doff your clothes and try on a lacey piece you picked up at a tailoring shop. Black lace that was woven in such a way where i concealed and revealed in equal measure. Your tanned skin peeking out from sultry waves of a bodice. Stockings that squeezed and shaped your thighs, and a bikini bottom that even allowed your male parts to have an enticing allure.

The final outfit you wanted to try was the Chainmail Bikini you recovered from The Shrine. The thing is small. Very small. You bulge around the chains strung together by glittering silver wire, like bread dough between your fingers. However, surprisingly it's not uncomfortable in the slightest, hell you feel very cozy in it. What's more, though it seems utterly silly given the paltry surface area it covers, you feel protected in it! a protection that lingers even after you take it off.

> +5 natural defense! (lasts 24 hours)

> Go to sleep its been 30 hours since you slept
> Channel a new spirit to in habit you.
> Have some snacks before bed.

You are General Nathan Oman, awakened from thirty years of cyrosleep. You are the last surviving member of the Timmerman Administration, the greatest, strongest government the United States has ever voted into office. You and the rest of the military leadership, under the guidance of President Timmerman, led the country through trying times. Times it would not have survived without you.
And how did the people pay you back? After the dust settled and the crisis passed? By handing President Timmerman and the military command over to an international court. They were all sentenced for crimes against humanity. They were all hanged.
Except, that is, for you and several other generals. You went into hiding. You all swore that in thirty years times you would return and exact vengeance on the world for the death of your nation.

You take cover behind a workstation, then pop up and run along a row. Beakers explode as bullets whip by. The glass crunches under your boots. You slid behind another workstation. You have Nelsen's general location now.
You rear up, unloading the beretta. You finish and start running. You spot Nelsen, coming up from behind a distant station with a heavy assault weapon. You finish reloading and take aim, just as his barrel swivels towards you.

Yang isn’t going to make it, you’re still a few hundred feet out and at the rate she’s falling…

You don’t want to think about it.

Looking to Pyrrha you see the shield along her back and shout “Pyrrha! Shield up!”

She gives you a puzzled expression before she registers what your asking and nods. Jumping ahead of both you and Juane she flips on the landing, angling her shield and bracing herself. Seeing this you veer towards her; Running as fast as your brace will let you.

As your foot presses against her shield you feel the shield move over the auburn beauties head, angling you towards Ruby. Applying more Pressure you catapult into the sky, you extend your arms and shoot off like a rocket towards the plummeting Ruby.

While nations like Strossvald and Valsten freed themselves from the rule of the Grossreich and reformed more or less intact nation states upon breaking free, at least strong enough to resist being reconquered by their former masters, many other nations did not break so cleanly; their imposed governments slowly being worn away and undermined as Imperial Politicking by the Reich-aligned overlords combined with sedition and infighting by the native populace shattered territories like glass bulbs. Some places would never recover from this; Sosaldt being a prime example of a state that had changed little since the Kaisers had released it from their iron grip.

The nobility that linked modern Strossvald with its past still formed the basis of government, and the merchants and wealthy citizenry was able to maintain their own sort of power in Valsten even as Kaiser Alexander’s troops marched in the streets. Sosaldt had been something of a wild and scattered land even before being conquered, and being conquered and abandoned did not help this. In the chaos of new nations being founded while the Reich melted away, many who were disenfranchised or seeking power went south; as hundreds of different factions vied for power in the freshly formed vacuum, the ultimate victor never rose, and Sosaldt eternally became a land of anarchy, yet also one of uncertain opportunity…

-----

You are Lieutenant Richter Von Tracht, officer-gone-rogue (officially) on a daring rescue mission.

One that you didn’t exactly think would go nearly the direction it went, but you supposed that you didn’t exactly try to avoid the unusual, anyways. It certainly said plenty about you that you weren’t particularly shaken by your current status of having come through a magical mountain pass and spending several days waiting for a horde of bandits who had gone into the mountains before you, sitting in a bar, talking to a wizard.

It made much more sense in context, although that was still only a relative of sense compared to zero.

>>
“Now unless you would like to fume impotently at me some more,” the wizard you sat with said to you, over the sniveling of the one-legged girl he had brought, “I would appreciate it if you told me of any further business you wanted to do with me.” Said wizard was Markus the Riverman, commonly known by his latter title only, sorcerer of questionably power but well known capacity for being an annoying prick. Thankfully, because of a charm placed upon you by a much stronger “soulbinder,” you felt free to mock this one at your leisure.

You were sorely tempted to do so, with the man having just having spent the past minute insulting your fiancée, but you were torn between biting remarks and holding yourself back, due to the quite real possibility of buying him to your side, perhaps even permanently.

He had abilities that could prove quite useful, certainly, but voices just as loud inside as the Riverman’s advocates in your mind argued compellingly as to why the investment would not be worth it.

“Stay around for a bit,” you got up from the table at the bar you two were in, “I have to go check on some things. I’ll deal with you later.”

“Wait-“ the Riverman tried to interrupt, but you were well on your way out the door. As you left, you heard him make an offended noise, but he did not pursue you.

-----

One of the several things the Riverman had brought back when he returned from the mission you gave him was an unexpected boon; stray members of the bandit gang you had been pursuing (and were now waiting in ambush for), the Blood Suns; more specifically, a gang that associated themselves with a larger mercenary organization called the Blood Suns, who were themselves called the Death Heads.

You had made it a point to interrogate these wretches as soon as possible. While you held less than a speck of respect for any Sosaldtian, if these men had been in a situation where they felt it necessary to eat the leg of an innocent girl, they were either in truly dire stakes…or absolutely irredeemable. Along with the usual demands you’d make of a captured enemy as far as information went, you had thought to find out if they were desperate, or monstrous.

You found them huddled in a circle in the slopes where your forces had set up a base of operations; overlooking the mountain roads in the foggy valley, waiting for the Blood Suns to come so they could unleash devastation upon them. A pair of rougher-than-usual riflemen from Bat Company watched over them with leering eyes and fingers ready on the triggers of their submachineguns, daring the captive rogues to make a move.
>>
“Lieutenant,” Captain Honnrieg of Bat Company waved blithely at you; despite him willingly allowing you command of all operations, you knew that he outranked you, and was not about to act as though you were truly his superior. He at least acted casual and not impolite. He gestured back to the ragged bunch, who looked hollowly around all over, while trudging downhill to you. “I don’t actually know what to do with these clowns. They’re in no state to be fighting, mentally or physically. If you wanted to ask them anything…I bet they’d be plenty pliable.”

“Acknowledged,” you said curtly, eyes set on the two dozen and a half or so of glum, defeated brigands sitting in a tight circle, backs to each other, “I’ll be sure to wring them gently.”

You left Honnrieg behind and considered what you would ask them…

>Write in Questions
>Any other actions
Also, you considered what you’d do with them afterwards…

>Demand that they serve you; they owe you, for saving them.
>Turn them in to the Rangers in the town to be processed; they’re not your problem.
>Send them on their way; they can’t be of any harm to you with no weapons or will to fight; they’ll probably just scatter.
>Other?

Past threads pastebin here. I've been on and off working on a general reference pastebin so you won't have to go back through past threads to find out general information, but that's been slow. If there's anything you think your player character should know, or anything you want to ask anybody, go ahead and post that and I'll answer it. I'm not about to tell anybody to just go back and read if they can't remember some things.

Hello dear citizens of hell, welcome back to another installment of movie crashing quest.

Today, we are going to twist the knots and crash the sugary saccharinely happiness of Trolls to the umpteenth degree. We’ll start at the very beginning before we advance to the first half of the film and I wanted you to help me on creating an alternate prologue to the main story and see if we could fix the flaws on our very own.

Now with that said and done, I would start with four prologue ideas to setup the main plot, would it be:

>A satire on the modern-day moral-driven outcast stories
>A Shaksperian twist on the trolls’ origins.
>A Lord of the Rings-like monologue on the history of a fantasy world.
>Alter the film’s original prologue.

Once you chose one idea, you could write in whenever the hell you want.

You are Allen Starwind, a starship captain and veteran of the Great Interstellar War. Your starship is old, yet (mostly) reliable, and you must take on jobs in order to bring in enough cash to keep it flying. Last time, you spoke with an old comrade, arrived on Mars, talked with Allie about upgrading your ship, and went on a walk. Good luck, and fair skies.

You look up at the memorial again, sighing a little. “Well… I guess I don’t really mind if it seems a little bit pretentious,” you finally say. “Really it’s nice that someone cared enough to honor the memory of everyone who fought…” You shake your head, frowning. “Sometimes it seems like even those of us who were actually there don’t pay our respects enough…”

Claudia raises an eyebrow at you, then nods slowly. “I guess that’s true. So many people just wanted to forget about it all when it ended. But that’s no way to live, is it?”

You cross your arms, stepping back from the memorial. “Lowe send you to keep tabs on me?”

She shakes her head. “Just wanted to see what you were up to, Allen. Can’t a girl catch up with an old friend without it being business-related?”

You fight away a sarcastic smirk, feeling like she’s not telling you the whole truth. “I suppose so. Well I’m not going anywhere for a while.”

“I heard,” she nods. “Getting upgrades for your ship. Moving up in the world. It seems.” She gestures to a bench opposite of the monument. “Care to sit with me for a while?”
