Few things are more important in a young child’s life than the process of education. Letters, numbers, history, the arts, and all other manner of vital information are the sacred torches that must be handed down from one generation to the next, the foundation on which ever greater achievements can be built. However, in a world not connected with an abundance of roads, let alone a vast reaching net of instantaneous communication, knowledge could only travel so far as hoof and wing and coin would allow, which unfortunately placed those out of the way locations with little in the way of the latter in an unenviable state.

Knowledge was limited to what was known passed from parent to child, what was discovered in a lifetime, or whatever just so happened to drift in on portentous wings. So, it was that news of a formal academy being built in the sleepy town of Jonasburg caught many ears in the villages nearby and brought eager applicants to the door of its mayor as the auspicious structure began rising from the sullen dirt as though by magic.

Or rather, it should be said quite literally by magic, the duo of ogres hauling great trees and heaps of stone to the edge of the village day-after-day whereupon the eager automatons would slice into them and remove uniform pieces to fuel the growth of the structure. Even in the laying of the foundations, it was clear that this would be the largest structure the town had ever seen: with hallways, multiple classrooms, a library (albeit one filled with empty shelves), and classrooms rows of empty desks waiting to be filled. There was also, for reasons unfathomable to many of the town, soon water running through its walls, a sight no less miraculous than the magical illumination that was promised in later weeks.

For Cici’s part, the excitement was something tempered with nervousness, the knowledge of a placement exam stuck fast in her mind as she attempted to balanced magic and baking with the demands of education suddenly looming at her door. She wondered what school would be like when the first day finally arrived, whether she would get to meet lots of new people, and most of all, if Hannah and Katy would end up in the same class as hers.

Naturally, the voices were constantly around to offer assurances, suggestions, and advice in the meantime.

> With two weeks until judgement day, how should Cici spend her time?

For any new players:

Welcome to Gorgon Child Quest! Where-in you take up the role of a magical talking artifact being wielded by a young gorgon girl named Cici. Living out of the remains of a once great dungeon, the game will focus on exploration, character interaction, and learning as the voices of the players within the amulet help guide her along.

For news about quest updates, my twitter can be found here:

And the archive can presently be found here:

>>
>>1320377

Study and friends? All work and no play makes Cixi a dull girl. Maybe make a study group with girls who will also be going to school?

We can't help you to cheat at tests Cici, only help you to study.

And is the school water cooled and water heated? Interesting.

“This is Private Deacon Jones. Patrol outpost 35-EA1, all clear.”

“Private Jarnison Yollard?”

And it went on and on, out there in the star-studded inky blackness of space. Days of watching a huge, unimaginably massive chasm of space. An empty void of space that eats away at your self-awareness and lust for life every day for space months, upon space years, upon a 5-year tour of space service during which you have to peer deeply into and sincerely examine the space for an enemy that, by all accounts is attacking from the opposite end. Of space.

You were catching space madness.

You were piloting a M-1345 perimeter engineer/interceptor craft, or “Six-Seven-Eights” as your fellow pilots called them, without good reason. It was a spherical craft, about 100 meters in diameter. The sphere itself was packed with engines and weapons, all pointed outwards from around the sealed internal cockpit where the pilot sat with little to no room for anything other than himself, the consoles, and the maintenance tools for EV activities to repair your ship or some outdated static defenses in local space. Ugh.

The suit you wore took care of your every bodily and hygienic function, except for the sexual. It washed every part of you except for your face, which you were expected to wash with a Navy-supplied rag and a spritzing of water from your suits mouth dispenser. You had acne out the ass but the only time you ever saw it was in the reflection of all these monitors. All the fucking monitors showing the same shit day after day unless a wave of radiation from some far distant supernova that went off 60 trillion years ago was passing through. Then you had to manually readjust all the instruments.

There was a small filtration system built by nanobots that sucked the neurotransmitter build-up that causes mental exhaustion right out of your brain but every 48 hours or so you'd have to sleep for an hour just to prevent your nervous system from fucking up and writing over some precious memory from life back in the World. They ran our lower-class brains right up to the redline but nobody ever cracked, because if anyone ever did, the first man to shoot him down would get a promotion and a ticket out of this job.

The sexual fantasies you constructed were grotesque.

You were certain you would be the one who finally did go mad and give somebody else that promotion.

You wanted to die. But the animal needs kept you going. One day you were going to get out of this goddamn suit, take a bath, sleep in a comfortable place, and feel a woman under you again. Goddamn it, you were going to make it out of there if it lobotomized you!

That was life in the Federal Republican Navy. Your rank was Pvt. McBride, soon to be Sgt. McBride.

That was the day that a six legion strong armada of Calvonian ships attacked you and your eight surrounding sectors in what would become known as the Battle of Delphi system.

It began with a debris wall. Three Solomon-class destroyers decloaked and released half an asteroid belt's worth of high velocity space rock towards our perimeter net at medium engagement range, about a hundred and fifty thousand kilometers out. The quantity, density, and speed of the barrage made piloting through it an impossibility. 678s near the center of the projected path of the debris wall were doomed. You were about ten thousand klicks from its projected outer perimeter at your current location.

As if in a dream you:

>roll a d100 for success, most popular course of action is chosen and the highest roll is taken from the posts of those who voted for the winning option, DCs vary by action choice.

>let adrenaline kick in and found the fastest vector out of there
>immediately got in touch with the rest of your local squad and made sure nobody panicked
>got a hold of Jones and Yollard and attempted to coordinate a red cone maneuver

Marshaling a counterattack can come after we're sure everyone's got their heads screwed on tight enough for it to work.

Hope OP knows that this rolling system skews votes toward whatever option gets the highest roll.

"......Will....... In..... Minutes......for Choosing us" Your back hurts. This chair is so uncomfortable... How long have I been asleep? It's so dark outside...

The speaker on the plane comes on again. "Again, we will be landing in roughly thirty minutes in Rome, and on behalf of 'Nameless Airlines' we thank you for your support. Local time 3:30Am."

"Looks like we are almost there..." You look around your row and notice the best possible situation. To your left, Dizzy is passed out. A teeny bit of drool dropping onto your arm as she has found comfort using you as a pillow.

To your right... Samantha. She is also passed out, leaning against you. Weather she did this on purpose or if it was an accident you aren't complaining. Next to her Amy is leaning against Samantha.

You sit and soak in the awesomeness of the situation for as long as possible until you hear a faint whisper. Seemingly right in your ear.

"We're gonna get youuu~"

You whip your head around, nothing is there. "Probably just my imagination... Right?"

>A) Wake everyone up and tell them about what you just heard.
>B) Relax for as long as possible before you land.
>C) Do something else. While they are asleep.

You shrug your shoulders and try to gently wake up the girls on ether side of you. "Guys, guys! Get up. We are in trouble"

"But broooo~ We have plenty of gold left for your equipment." Diz mumbles, obviously half asleep.

"Mikey, everything will be fine. Trust me. I wouldn't have gotten them if I thought they couldn't be handled~" Samantha mumbles very similarly to Diz.

What? What is she even dreaming about? "Wake up you two we are in trouble!" You say shaking your shoulders more aggressively "Someone is trying to get me!"

Dizzy manages to wake up enough to hear out your assertion. "Whadda ya mean?"

"Heehee, you don't know the half of it" Sam mumbles as she nuzzles closer to you. "Wait!" Samantha snaps awake and sits up straight in her chair "What? Who? Huh?"

You disregard the slip up for the moment and tell the both of them what you heard.

"Bro, are you sure it wasn't just a dream?"

"It does sound a bit odd, Mike."

"But what about the girl from the airport!"

"Just because someone laughs at you slipping doesn't mean they are out to get you. Now quiet down, I'm trying to sleep" Kana pitches in as she shifts her body to a more comfortable position."
...
...
...
The voice doesn't come back for the remainder of the flight. Thirty minutes pass and the planes lights shoot on to full blast. A resounding sound of moaning comes from the entire plane, nearly all of whom had been asleep.

Your friends are much the same, desperately trying to cover their eyes to the light. Few people stand for the first few minutes as the attendants begin to wake them. Only one stop left, the hotel.

>A) Wait for the rest of them to get up.
>B) Get off without them, the sooner you get off the easier it will be to get seats on the bus.
>C) Other.

Welcome to Spirit Detective Quest! This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Yu Yu Hakusho, though it does not take place during the events of the show. You're a young highschooler, one who will find himself granted the title of Spirit Detective, and will be charged with tracking down demons and other supernatural criminals.

>Rules

Each time I make an update, there will be a ten minute window in which you can vote between various options I have provided. Write-ins are accepted and encouraged, but I do reserve the right to veto them. Once ten minutes have passed, the option (or suitable combination) with the most support will win.

You can choose multiple options, but be mindful of when that doesn't take any sense. Saying you want to go talk to someone and then talk to someone else in one post doesn't make much sense.

Also, in combat, I may veto selecting multiple options depending on how feasible that seems.

As far as combat, you will roll to attempt different options. I will not tell you what the number needed is ahead of time, so use your heads and balance risk/reward. Sometimes, you should take riskier options if they can yield greater payoff. Other times, it's best to play it safe. Use your judgement.

This is not Dragonball, and while there are sometimes ways to bring back the dead, they are few and far between, so do not assume that anybody you kill/let die will be coming back.

I hope you all have fun.

900 years until He regains his form.
90 years until He regains his mind.
9 years to regain His power.
And only 9 days until he regains The World.

Uryus words practically echo in your mind.
You are not certain why he decided to tell you this, perhaps he just wanted to warn you, but it doesn't really matter.
What matters is that Uraharas previous words of warning suddenly make a whole lot more sense now.
''There are dangers you can't even begin to imagine.''
Or so he said.

However once everything was said and done you found yourself lost in thought like all the others.
The silence was getting very awkward and so you spoke up if only to occupy your mind for a bit.

''Pesci!''

''H-huh?''

''Please grab a few fruits and bring them here.
I believe we owe that much to Uryu...''

''R-right.''
Your friend then stood up and went back behind his counter to grab a few unprepared Idun.

Meanwhile you turned your attention back to Uryu who looks like he wants to say something.
''Thank you.''

''We had an agreement...
But! Before I do my part, I still have one question.''

''Then say it.''

''How much of this is true?''

''All of it.
But as I said, you need to take it with a grain of salt...
Most of our history has been either wiped out by the shinigami or badly damaged over the millennia.
And... that bit about the King being created by someone... pure speculation.
It's just that once this idea took root in my head I couldn't shake it off and I just needed to share it with someone.''

You raise an eyebrow at that.
''What about your own kin?
You know, your father or that other guy.''

''They were never really open for such conversations...
Neither of them seems to care about the topic in general.''

''Huh...
Well, it might not be much but I think you're on the right track... assuming your origin story is indeed true.''

At this Apacci scoffs at this.
''In any case, you got some pretty effed up fairy tales.
How do you tell this anyway? Do you just... lean in close to the quincy babies that just recently popped out and start whispering ''900 years until he regains his body etc. etc.'' into their ears while they are in their cribs or somethin?''

Actually she has a point there.
If these are indeed folk tales then the Quincy almost rival Hansel and Gretel in terms of messed up stories.
But with everything said and done you have a choice to make.

You are Allen Starwind, a starship captain and veteran of the Great Interstellar War. Your starship is old, yet (mostly) reliable, and you must take on jobs in order to bring in enough cash to keep it flying. Last time, you met an old friend, bought some things, and left Thalos. Good luck, and fair skies.

You lean against the railing, looking out over the city of Napoleon City, the newest Federal colony to be founded before the War started. You are currently on an overlook of the city, enjoying the view. Down along the main street, hundreds of people in Federal Military uniforms mingle amongst the townspeople. Several light cruisers hover lazily around the city’s starport, waiting for landing clearance, most likely. You sigh, reaching into your pocket for the pack of cigarettes you bought when you touched down. However, before you can fish a cigarette out and get your lighter, you feel a pair of hands on your shoulders, one heavier than the other.

“You really should quit, you know.” Linda leans up against you from behind, resting her head on your shoulder as her hands move down your arms.

“Yeah,” you reply simply. “Probably will once I get out of the Navy.” She chuckles at that.

“You sound a lot more optimistic than when I first met you,” you can practically hear her smile. Her hands find their resting place atop yours as she sighs contentedly.

“I guess so,” you reply simply. “Things are looking up. We’re winning the war, haven’t had a major incident since Volkmann took command, and now we even have two weeks’ shore leave…” You continue looking out over the city. “Plus, you know, I have a lot more waiting for me once this is all over beyond a pension.”

“You can be such a romantic sometimes, Allen.” Linda yawns a little bit before continuing. “You must’ve been a writer in a past life.”

You both chuckle. “Maybe,” you finally reply. Shifting your weight a little, you turn around as Linda steps back from you. “Anyway, let’s go find the others. We’ve lagged behind enough since we landed.”

--

You awaken with a groan, rolling over in your bunk and peering at the clock. Six hours isn’t much sleep, but it’ll just have to do. You sit up and look over at your desk as you get dressed. That model Oberon that Solfrid bought for you is still sitting there, half-assembled. You were doing so well with it until you hit a snag with the windows: they are just a little too big and you don’t have an X-Acto knife to trim them down.

Walking down into the wardroom, you see that Tom is already working on breakfast. Interestingly enough, he seems to have repurposed Paul as a kind of kitchen assistant.

“Paul, start a timer for ten minutes. Oh, and get some eggs. The fresh ones, not the powdered.” He calls out to the little robot, who putters from the kitchen to the pantry.

“AFFIRMATIVE. ACQUIRING RESOURCES.”

You can’t help but stifle a chuckle. Tom notices you just as he pours something from a measuring cup into a skillet. “Morning, Captain.” He grins. “I’m making a full course breakfast. Pancakes, sausage, eggs. The whole nine yards.”

You raise an eyebrow. “Any occasion?”

He shrugs. “We’re gonna come out of FTL sometime today, so I figured I’d free up a little pantry space in case we find any luxury items on Mars.” He then motions to the seating arrangements. “Should be ready in about twenty minutes. Go ahead and take a seat.”

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the game, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first. Infact, you can do more than one move in a row like the anime, but so can your opponents.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

This would probably have been a lot easier if I had Mistress teaching me how to do this properly, but she isn't here. Not that it's her fault, I'm probably just being a little ambitious when I decided to try to teach myself without her to teach me. I have a very good reason, though! I needed to come up with a plan on how to get into the church tonight without the guards that have suddenly been posted outside noticing me and, well, I came up with TWO!

The first was to spend the rest of the day trying to teach myself how to fly on one of these brooms. I asked Miss Angeline, who is allowed inside because she's the Baroness' maid, to leave one of the upstairs windows open so I could use that. Of course, that's only going to work if I actually get a handle on this flying thing..

But that's exactly why I was so smart that I made TWO plans! Because that way if the first doesn't work out I STILL have another plan to fall back on instead of being left completely planless! Smart!

The second plan is to shrink myself with a Shrinking Potion and then sneak past the guards while I'm tiny. I even know from Miss Angeline when the guards shift. That means that they'd both be distracted AND I'd be so tiny that I would be hard to notice. But first I'll practice flying to see if I can pull that off instead because I don't really want to be tiny again.

..wait, 'again'? What a silly thing to say, I haven't tried being shrunk or anything like that yet. This must be that thing Sis calls a 'brainfart'. Oh well, back to practising!

Several hours later, as I watch the glow of the sun slowly fading behind the horizon, two thoughts occupy my mind.

First, a sudden feeling of intense gratitude for the many times Sis had come home from training covered in scratches and cuts from top to bottom, and how it always feel to me to patch her up again. It always took a lot of convincing to even get her to acknowledge that she was hurt at all but she always gave up in the end, and always pretending that she was only letting me do it to comfort me! She doesn't seem to get cut very often anymore, but I still remember a lot from that time and the many hours of practice definitely came in handy today. Owie...

But the pain has definitely been worth it! I'm especially sure of that as I struggle to catch my breath from the sheer awe of watching the sunset from a brand new angle. From above! All around me shades of red and orange mix with the bright white clouds dotting the sky and fading into the slowly encroaching black night on the other horizon. But that's isn't the second thought.

My second thought is how close everything suddenly feels! Until now even going to Mistress' house seemed like a long walk but now, looking at everything from up here it feels like I could go anywhere in just a few minutes. In fact, I'm pretty sure I could if I kept practising this! From the creepy abandoned fort that Lily turned into her own base to the sea of wheat fields east of the forest, all of it is suddenly in my reach, just like that!

Now, I am still having a lot of trouble controlling this broom, of course. I even made sure to take smallest one I could find that I'm pretty sure Mistress only keeps around for training apprentices because she would never fit on this thing. I'm not crashing into trees or the lake anymore, but that's only when I go really slow and if I make sure to stop completely when I try to turn. I am doing it, though, even if it's a bit choppy and that has got to count for something!

Maybe Mistress will even be proud enough to forget being mad at me for doing this without asking her first?

The important question now is.. what's next? The sun is setting, sure, but tonight's mission doesn't begin until midnight. What should I do until then?

..Maybe visit Luci- I mean the Baroness? I wasn't allowed to earlier when she was at the church, and Miss Angeline strongly advised that I don't, but still! She must be really sad after her mother died and even though I've only met her once I still feel like I should try to comfort her? I could definitely try to visit her without anyone noticing, now that I know how to sort-of-fly. But should I? I know it's definitely a bad idea and could cause trouble for me, but.. but is it more important to do what's smart, or what you feel you should?

It would probably be a whole lot smarter to go home, eat dinner, and maybe try to nap a bit so I'm all fresh and ready for action come midnight.

Or.. I could keep practising! I could still get a lot better at handling the broom, but I've been making good progress so why not continue that?

>Try to sneak into the castle by exploiting my vertical advantage, and visit Baroness Lucia!
>Go home, eat, rest up, be smart!
>Practice even more! Gotta get good!

i am retard that didn't see my old post was saved as a .jpg, now i post new map that is saved as a .png

You guys know the rules
>Name
>Starting Location
>Color
>put dice+1d99999 in the options tab for your roll, for example;

in order to declare war; both sides must agree. If you don't know the rules; both players roll, and difference between the player's rolls determine how much territories are taken.
To establish a NAP, both players must agree to it, to break a NAP; both players must agree to it and have to wait 1 turn to before starting any aggression towards each other.

also, to give every player time to take their turn; I will update the map once every day. so players only get 1 turn per day. so make sure to keep this tab open.
your turn will be skipped if you do not respond for over a day, also my job will not allow me to be behind a computer for all hours of the day.

Just wondering, but is there an archive that I can look up to catch up on the story? I have never really been able to participate in this thread series before.

This is from back when we were in /tg/
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=eldric+lightbringer

And this is from /qst/
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=eldric+lightbringer

..ara? it seems they share the same database... then why even add a separate search window for /tg/ and /qst/ in the first place?

Anyway, there you go.

Waiting for more people to show up. Since I am starting so late today, I dont get to complain no matter what though.

Miellewds-guy here. Quite late, and wondering if there's any point to starting so late.

You are John Dallas of the Heimdall crew. You and 7 others were sent to investigate the re-emergence of the Hermes, the first interstellar travel ship of humanity. It had jumped to the Gliese system only to lose contact with earth and disappear for 13 days. Upon its re-entry you all boarded and searched for survivors, finding only the manic William who handed you a memory drive detailing what had happened to the crew of the Hermes and what they had seen. Showing video footage of a long dead alien civilisation and something on the surface of the planet before the crew begin to die, vanish or go insane. After being attacked by either another survivor or some creature you managed to make it off the ship, an official company team took over the operation and you were escorted back to the company base on Titan. Titan, Europa and Ganymede all lose contact briefly after the Hermes re-emergence. Having been involved in a crash and waking up in hospital you have been reunited with your team amidst a supposed workers riot on the moons surface.

The room shudders once more and lights flicker, the siren still carrying through Titans atmosphere and resounding distantly in the building you are in. Everyone looks around with a concerned look on their face as William continues frantically pacing; you turn towards the door and feverishly push it open, revealing only your head to whoever is in the corridor. Outside two security personal are standing conversing amongst themselves.
“Hey? Don’t mean to bother anyone but do you know what that was?” You ask trying to sound as polite as possible
“Not sure” One answers, glancing at his colleague
“Rioters detonating charges outside the perimeter perhaps, don’t worry we have this place on lockdown” the other says reassuringly
“Thanks guys” you smile pulling back into the room.
You turn to the rest of the crew.
“Riots heating up apparently” you shrug
“Not much we can do about it from in here” Ellen says
“I’m not so sure” David says to the group
“That we can’t do anything?” Liz asks confused
“That it’s a regular riot...” David continues
“A colony wide comms black out is pretty rare” Isaac interjects “But three colonies?”
“And all after we found the Hermes” You finish
“Like Ellen said, not much we can do about it, we just got to wait for it to blow over or until a transport ship arrives to take us back to Earth” Justin says, trying to keep everyone calm
“That Carpenter guy, awfully interested in the Alien structures, I would have thought being in charge of the companies interests on Titan wasn’t overly related to the Hermes mission” Michael ponders.
“It’s not human” Kurt states loudly, everyone stops turning to him
“Whatever is on that ship, it’s not... human, not natural” he says, his fists clenched.
Liz moves to comfort him, placing a hand on his shoulder. You turn behind you to look at William, the only one who spent longer alone on the ship than Kurt. He is nodding rapidly in agreement, scratching at his arm.

>Talk to specific crew member, Isaac, Michael, Justin, Liz, David, Ellen, Kurt or William (say what?)

Yes! So glad this quest is back.

>"Is? Is on that ship? Or perhaps was, I wonder."

We can head off to our sleping quarters? I thought we were not allowed to leave this room.
I suppose we should probably do that then, better scout and consolidate our position ahead of time if we're going to spend the night here.

I guess exploring the building is out of question though since we'll probably be escorted by the base military personnel.
