Overall the cost would be a quarter of what a cow costs to own with about the same life expectancy. In todays dollars i would estimate the average slave to cost 2000 dollars for a fresh off the boat. A lot more for a raised quality slave since they would need to be at least 15+ to be useful and that adds cost.
