Women need a man telling them what to do in order to function properly. I saw a similar series of Survivor here in the US. The men immediately started working once their feet touched the sand. No questions asked except for what each individual could contribute to the survival effort. When the women made it to their island, they immediately had a coversation about who the leader of the group would be. It was a whole team of women looking around eaiting for one of them to step forward and tell them what to do. The oldest one eventually steps up, and despite having no proven skils they all follow her just because she was willing to lead. Then half of them end up resenting her later and forming a whole drama for no reason. Meanwhile, the mean were chilling in their comfy shelter with freshly cooked fish like it was a vacation.

The women were doing so terribly that they took half the men and half the women and made them switch teams in order to even it up.

Shit like this is why it boggles my mind that people are even considering Hillary for presidency. Women just are not built for leadership, plain and simple.

I do have to be fair from a survival perspective and comparing them to the men's camp. The women haven't done as well as the men in the first episode- they got lost in the jungle, they split up, they don't have fire, water, or shelter. They did manage to forage for yucca root at least- which I'm impressed that they were able to identify and cook it. (although it was probably cassava that they foraged, its often mistakenly called yuca.)

But this is some hardcore survival. No lounging around the fire eating rice like on Survivor. Its constantly raining, all the food must be foraged. No reward challenges. You have to drag cameras around. I would probably be one of the first to leave the show too, due to depression issues and sleeplessness. (Of course, I wouldn't sign up for a show like this either unless there is a big cash prize, which I don't think there is, there is never a cash prize mentioned in the show.)

The builder can't cope with being the least fit and contributing zero. Even his non-physical contributions in the form of ideas (shelter placement) are not the best and so get rejected by the group which devastes him even more. He compensates for it by seperating and enganging in conflict. He also points the finger which is bad.
He should just man up and help as good as possible.

The fat construction manager might be a little bit fixed in his ideas but he seems to get stuff done.
I'm an engineer myself so I'd also have some ideas on how to do things (e.g. the shelter), but I would not impose my plans and act just like the other mostly rational guys there.

At least in season one, I understand that they have some "plants" in their group. So there's a couple of people adept at survival in amongst the retards. Not so much production team meddling, but not exactly what was advertised.

The lack of ability to work and survive in this case is likely exaggerated due to the backgrounds of both sets of individuals. Men are much more likely than women to take an interest in survival whilst in a modern society, and are therefore more prepared for this series due to foresight. Also, I feel that the idea that men should "provide" has been drilled into these womyn's heads so much that they've become accustomed to relying on men for anything strenuous.

tl;dr:
There's obviously an advantage to average men on such a task due to their physical traits, but the male role as a provider outside of this task has further weakened the women's ability to be self-sufficient.

Now that I've seen the part with the fire, I can confirm jewery.
I've been there myself and it's very hard to make fire with wet firewood.
