Time for you to grow out of that game.

Make infantry, never waste IC on tanks, aircraft, or fancy shit like paratroops.

Only research doctrines that reduce your attack delay.

Never make allies, they are useless, instead invade them and take their IC and rares for yourself.

AI navy does fuck all, just invade Britian with a few transports, the RN will do dick.

Start off with small encircelments. The AI will then readjust the whole front line to cope with this "threat", weakening itself along the entire front. Its incapable of making any effective counterthrusts. Then go for the big encirclements.

Rinse and repeat for basically any of the major powers and you can get wins all the time at very unhistorical dates. Even on hardest level. Examples. Nationalist China invades Japan and wins by 1939. Britian goes alone and destroys Italy then Germany by 1941. Japan invades USA and wins by 1942 ( then takes on both the western allies and the Axis and wins by 1943). This was the sort of shit I pulled off before I got bored by the lack of difficulty.

you cant break through swiss def in the mountains to take them. their military is too good and the mountain defensive modifier is on their side, additionally you dont have manpower to finish the fight.

you cant beat hungary because they have a larget military, same with yugo and checkoslovakia. skill wont help you if your division fights against envelopement, river crossing and encirclement.

this could only work if you make italy or germany your bitch to do it for you.

I tried invading Italy with the OP Austria and they sunk my transport fleet,like I expected so I reloaded, also Sweden sunk 1 or 2 ships when I invaded.

I was using divisions of 3 infantries and stacking 3 divisions and yoloing for the vps. The AI goes retarded and cant deal with it if you're too fast.
Yugo was a huge pain though, because the capital was far away they kept cutting off my supply lines so I ended up having to use some divisions as bait/distractions.

bashing your dukes about is part of the game, but you only need to do it once when you conquer a new territory

here are some protips

1: Ideally all your dukes should be of your dynasty and culture, counts can have the culture of the province they govern and province revolt risk will be 0. Your duke's demesne can be a county with your culture and he can hold a duchy 100s of miles away

2: if all your dukes are of your dynasty you can have elective succession with 0 risk of the empire going to someone outside your dynasty, choose a king with high diplomacy +1 loyalty per 2 diplomacy points, traits like kind, diligent and brave give +10 loyalty, gregarious gives +5, avoid sloth, arbitrary, cruel and craven

3: to begin with you need to breed new dynasty members, don't allow too many children in your court who are not your dynasty, go for fertility when finding matches, matrilineal marriage all your females, don't waste too many children to forge alliances
3a: if you educate all your dynasty members to have kingly traits (kind, diligent, brave) this also increases their loyalty to their king

4: I believe the ideal laws are as follows

medium or high crown authority
free investiture
minimum vassal/city/church levies (high vassal levies to begin with when crown authority is low)
10% vassal tax (0% to begin with when you are small and your demesne provides most of the cash)
35% church tax
maximum city tax 45%

6: don't spend money on stuff you don't need, always have lots of cash ready to bribe the pope, raise emergency mercenaries and things

Never needed that, i always got rid of the dukedoms. Smashed all of them once a king was about to die. I never had problems with uprisings after the first 50 years.

I had lowest crown authority and elective monarchy so i very rarely had any problems. It was just annoying spending a chunk of every game getting rid of those pesky dukes. Eventually i just stopped playing it after i beat the holy roman empire in open field as sweden after i had conquered all of scandinavia and the baltikum/poland

Once you beat the biggest kid on the playground its not fun anymore. Too much work that game. EU3 is much better. Eu4 sucks.

Destroying the dukedoms is anti-fun, you need to have a couple of powerful dukes to crush every couple of generations. It's much more fun if you have a couple of kingdoms with your relatives on the thrones.

Don't create empires or you will get bored. Run the empire area as seperate kingdoms with alliances.

That game is like Dorf Fortress in space with an even less intuitive mechanic system.
