This, Estascy is way more harmless than weed. Feels amazing too.

But due to it being illegal for no reason it leads to unpure pills and such which is actually dangerous.

that's total rubbish. MDMA is still a stimulant and carries the risks associated with that. it's also very possible to develop serotonin syndrome from overuse of MDMA. weed is a hell of a lot safer

there's a difference between "decriminalizing" and "legalizing"

I think weed, and possibly DMT and mushrooms (with very strict dosing guidelines) are as far as we should go with legalization, but we should decriminalize everything else, because even though you shouldn't be able to buy MDMA off of a shelf, sending people to prison for it seems counterproductive.

Psilocybin

... basically everything with low physical and societal harm.

Actually I'd say legalize all drugs but too many people are idiots and will ruin themselves with Meth. So just legalize all psychedelics.
>>
>>32249039
DMT and mushrooms should absolutely not be legalized before other drugs. I've used LSD, mushrooms, and DMT, and it's a lot easier to enter a bad trip with mushrooms/DMT (they're basically the same drug and give the same kind of effects, DMT is just shorter and more intense) than LSD. MDMA would be a fairly safe candidate for legalization, along with some lesser opiates. I'd love to be able to go to the store and pick up some poppy pods (which are already legal, but not for consuming). amphetamine also isn't too dangerous

I saw it, but it is a stupid comparison. The mother has no direct link to the child death. Whereas with anyone with any alcohol related death there is malevolence or negligence at the part of the intoxicated person, resulting in death. Seeing as alcohol is again an inanimate object, that people CHOOOSE to ingest. which is why blaming alcohol for the actions of those who abuse it, is not any more alcohols fault as 9/11 is at the fault of boeing

And that's the rub, while people who drink alcohol do so recklessly, the alcohol still alters their fucking behavior. It ISN'T just there fault. A minor warning label about driving a car or operating machinery or being pregnant isn't enough responsibility on the part of alcohol distributors. Cigarettes have death warnings stamped all over the shit.

And speaking of being pregnant, HOW ABOUT THAT FUCKING SHIT?

There are people that drink alcohol in the early stages of pregnancy before they even know they are pregnant causing long term damage to their future children. They DIDN'T know the risks and alcohol still fucks up or even kills their kid. FAS isn't a fucking joke.

>By your metric the bartender is a murderer
No a bartender serves alcohol does not consume it.
bartenders are legally obligated to cut someone off at a certain point but at the end of the day they can't stop people from drinking.
Do you believe that alcohol should be held criminally accountable and charged in a court of law?
Intoxication CAN be used as a defense to turn murder into manslaughter, soley because it can remove intent. Do you believe the law should be changed so that people who voluntarily consume excessive amounts of alcohol should be immune from any criminal charges for anything they do?

As someone who drinks in moderation I can say it is extremely easily manageable.
First of all prior to going out drinking I make sure I have transporation home, I will never even bring my car to my destination so it is not even an option.
Then When I sense I drank enough I would stop. Now granted someone might miss that point fair enough. But believe it or not there is a long long way to go between falling over puking, and literally killing yourself. Alcohal related death is not "oops I drank to much" ITS holy fuck how in the living fuck did you drink that much so fast. Jesus. OR you drink a shit tonne on a daily basis again your a fucking idiot.
AS for FAS fair enough but then if there is a chance you could be pregnant dont drink. But men, non sexually active women or even women who only participate in safe sex are probably fine so...

Um...no?

You know what, frankly I'd be okay with any and all of this shit if it were properly tracked and regulated. 2 drink a day limit with doctoral permission? Fine. Minimum amount of disposable income and no debts before gambling? Fine. Health checks for hookers and clients? Fine. Public nudity, but decency laws still observed? Fine. Bigamy post total rewriting of our tax code (okay that will never happen, but conceptually). Fine. P2P filesharing if you don't have a minimum amount of disposable income and no debt? Fine.

Drugs in a controlled environment with doctoral permission? Fine, but you won't get the doctoral permission for most drugs and those should still fucking be banned.

ermmm I hate to burst your bubble but technically people killed people. War is defined as "a state of armed conflict between different nations or states or different groups within a nation or state." A lot of people die in war. But war does not infact kill people. War is just an english word to describe said armed conflicts. Similarly the guns didn't kill the participants.

I'm saying that even though it is a person's choice to consume alcohol, if they die as a result, the cause of death was them deciding to drink too much alcohol. Claiming that alcohol had nothing to do with the death is as silly as claiming it was 100% the alcohol's fault.

How is it alcohols fault some people don't have self control? Next it's peanuts fault people are allergic to them?
>That the people distributing the poison have incentive to NOT cut people off before they become a danger to themselves or others
actually you can lose your liquor license in a lot of countries and sates if you frequently overserve people this is a one off case.

I disagree somewhat. We SHOULD tell them what can happen to their body if they choose to abuse drugs, we SHOULD NOT have laws based on forcing people to conform to those ideas though. Fuck no.
Will it create more drug abuse?
Fuck no.
Will it save billions of dollars spent in the war on drugs?
yes
Will it remove a serious culture of violent crime related to the illegal sale of narcotics?
yes
Will it help relieve the overpopulation of our prisons?
yes.

Drug abuse is a health problem, not a criminal one. Prohibition does not work, for anything. Only reason not everyone does heroine is because most people want to stay the fuck away from it.

Speaking as someone in meth country. Most meth heads make the shit for free instead of buying it from some Mexico affiliated dealer.

Most methheads also steal their cooking supplies and their homes are basically time bombs

Creating a legal vehicle to open up highly addictive and socially corrosive substances to a wider audience is not my idea of good move.

Fuck, look at all the deaths caused by drunk drivers and all the health problems caused by 2nd hand smoke.

The problem ISN'T just health problems vs gangs and less health problems. The problem is having the shit be illegal legitimately makes it more unpopular and some drugs that is worth every fucking cent.

Every drug? No, but some it'd be insane to legalize.

Also, having the shit be illegal cuts down on its strength (drug companies can afford to refine their shit better than drug dealers and don't have to worry about fuckers cutting it with other chemicals to make extra cash) which means that people on the shit will be even fucking stupider and harder to get off the shit..

Did I mention people on the shit are stupid and a danger to themselves or others.

And also it there is the actual cost. Money pouring out of communities and into corporations that contribute nothing but poison to society...you know, like what /pol/ thinks big pharma is ALREADY doing, but this would be real
>>

DOing everydrug is stupid
the purpose of the law is not to shield stupid people from themselves. Even though it is clear they have found ways, to IDK break the law?

All substances should be leagal - the state has no buisness controling people like this. Fuck up people will fuck up - those that sort their shit out will sort their shit out - regardless of any drugs.
Simple as...
>>
>>32252070
The best way to keep people from manufacturing it in their homes it to create a legal, safe, supply from a trusted source that is cheaper or at the very least similar in price to the supplies used to make it yourself. If making it in their homes isn't economical they wont risk blowing their ass up to make it themselves. Pharmaceutical companies already make prescription versions of meth.
>>
>>32252410
>I don't see a problem.

2 problems

1 you are assuming this doesn't already happen

2 you are assuming more people won't become thieves when exposed to meth, which more people will be exposed to by virtue of your proposed legality

You say it's not the drug's fault, but the fact is when you measure the opportunity cost for some drugs, less people are harmed, less freedom infringed, by their illegality.

The job of the law isn't to protect us from ourselves, but it IS to protect us from others, and some drugs just fucking manufacture criminals, meth being one of them.

Treating the symptoms and not the cause m8.

And also defeats the point of decriminalizing meth to reduce incarceration rates.
>>
>>32252882
But most people wont steal the chemicals or try to buy it off of the people who are stealing those chemicals they'll prefer to buy it from a shop that sells it legally. If there's no people to buy your backyard meth then you'll probably stop making it eventually.

In areas where those chemicals aren't readily available through theft.

>>

No, the cause is scum bags not drugs... leagal supply would abate alot of the petty stealing.
Decrimilize is not to reduce incaceration rates but because it is not the right of anyone else to impose themselves on something that is purly personal.

The theft is not purly personal... I know many "druggies" that don't steal, have jobs and function perfictly well in society.

Part of the issue is that society outcasts drug users so they end up in a us and them place and cant reach out and join in most of societys games... few pints after work anon? - na I'm gonna go home and hit the chems - becasue it is not possible to have a pint and a line in public.

I live in meth country, dozens of labs get buster per year in my fucking county alone. And they aren't even that fucking hard to find.

Buying drugs vs stealing the supplies to make the drugs, most people still choose stealing the supplies to make drugs.

Your argument is but they wouldn't do that if it was legal, but buying them is still less of a fucking crime with less risk of getting caught or shot by a redneck and most people still just make the shit themselves.

>Part of the issue is that society outcasts drug users
I don't view that as an issue. I view that as an appropriate response. Have you ever seen a meth head? They're like if people chose to get leprosy.
