Pushing a heavy ass human rated spacecraft past LEO requires a big ass rocket. The Orion spacecraft alone weighs 10,387 kg. the dry mass of Spacex's dragon 2 is 6,400 kg. Just to go to GEO, a Falcon 9 can only push 8300 kg. Less to the moon. 4020 kg to Mars. The Delta IV heavy, the largest operating launch vehicle can push 14,220 to GEO, but less than that to the moon. This allows for a flyby at best, in a cramped vehicle and no service module or landing ability. Big fucking rockets are expensive and hard to justify on a commercial basis if they're expendable. It's very difficult to make money sending people out that far, and NASA isn't funded enough to do it themselves, especially because they don't make a dime doing so.
>>
>>140287684
Everything is bullshit. No moon landing, no Mars rover. Its just an easy money grab, while the rubes clap like trained seals.
>>
>>140296025
Not really. You could always show the math yourself. There's more than enough technical information available to do so. And the lander didn't escape the moon's gravity, it popped off from the legs and a lot of weight, then went t orbit to rendezvous with the command module, which then also ditched the whole rest of the lander before coming home.

If memory serves they don't take pictures with normal cameras. They take pictures of a bunch of different things. Radiation and infrared etc.
On top of that, they don't take one big picture either, they take many small pictures.
Eventually they combine them together and add some color in photoshop.
Of course since the times on these many small pictures are not aligned, clouds will be in different places and so they have to apply some editing to make them not look all stitched up and weird.

>we live in a simulation

What if the universe is just a picture they show us. When rocket leaves the orbit heading to Moon it actually does not truly leave anywhere. What if the astronauts just think they are traveling. Traveling in what exactly? That's right, inside a pod and can't even feel the movement. Soon as they leave the game map so to speak, they are placed in a loading screen and when the 'travel' is done they 'arrive' at the Moon. When in reality they just loaded a bonus level.
What if all the measurements we do with telescopes and other observation of the universe is all just fake data send back from the edge of the map.

Here's one: The Coriolis effect
Another: Different stars in the southern hemisphere than the northern one
Evidence for gravity: Things still accelerate toward the earth even in a vacuum

Want things the flat earth can't explain? It can't explain why the sky is blue, or why the seasons occur, or the reason you weigh slightly lighter at the equator than the north pole.
here's another one, if the sun is only several thousand feet in the sky and much smaller, why does it remain the same apparent size in the sky through the day?

go here http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/ and download this space flight sim. After you can launch the delta glider into LEO and navigate to lunar orbit you can come back and post about space travel. I'm not even being snarky, it really will help you understand the physics of it at a very basic level of thrust vs weight. The Apollo rockets were fucking massive and all that power was needed to launch 3 humans and a meager amount of equipment out of earth's orbit in a controlled way. It can be done, but it takes a huge amount of energy and its not worth doing just for the sake of a romantic notion of exploration. Despite all of this I assure you that our government(s) has (have) military installations on the moon, ranging from unmanned sensor stations to fully manned fortresses. The main construction material is a form of glass.

I just looked up all those passages. Some are interesting as they relate to the science and others don't say anything close to what that pic claims

>the earth is a sphere
Isaiah 40:22 (NRSVCE)

22 It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;
who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them like a tent to live in;

A circle is not a sphere

>Light moves
Job 38:19-20

19 “Where is the way to the dwelling of light,
and where is the place of darkness,
20 that you may take it to its territory
and that you may discern the paths to its home?

A path does not imply movement. You can follow the path of a sidewalk. Also the passage implies that darkness has a point of origin, but darkness is just the absence of light.

>Ocean floor geology
2 Samuel 22:16

16 Then the channels of the sea were seen,
the foundations of the world were laid bare
at the rebuke of the Lord,
at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

Jonah 2:6

6 at the roots of the mountains.
I went down to the land
whose bars closed upon me forever;
yet you brought up my life from the Pit,
O Lord my God.

This flat earth map warps distances anyway, so it's useless when it comes to navigation, you need a round earth model and a working knowledge of the celestial sphere if you want to navigate correctly
>>
>>140298891
Sailors navigated with the heavens, within sight of shore. No one dared navigate open water until reliable navigation tools (using the heavens) were invented. When the magnetic compass came to Europe it was only ever used when navigating by the heavens wasn't possible due to cloudy weather.

Ok let me explain why this is bullshit. It all boils down to the fact that its very dangerous to send astronauts out to the cold vacuum of space.

1. Radiation. As soon as you leave earths atmosphere, there's nothing protecting you from the sun. This means that astronauts would be exposed to very high levels of radiation that can cause permanent health problems if they're exposed to for too long. Extra shielding from the suns radiation would mean additional weight on board the shuttles which isn't economically feasible considering its $10,000 per pound to put cargo into orbit.

2. Much higher latency in communication between the space ships and earth. If we are sending spacecraft to collect and transmit data, sending them outside of LEO would just make that entire process a pain in the ass and unreliable. Not to mention if communications were to break with Earth and an emergency happened out in space, you'd have no outside help. Gambling with human life is bad enough, what about the billion dollar piece of machinery? Not worth risking the lives of astronauts and/or losing something so expensive with limited funding NASA receives.

3. We have no fucking reason to at the moment. It's not the space race anymore. No one (except Elon Musk) cares about exploring space enough to take the financial and safety risks to leave the relative safety of Earth's outer atmosphere. NASA isn't going to do manned missions anywhere until they believe it's safe because they operate on an entirely different set of principles than a private corporation. There's no pressing deadlines or sense of urgency, they don't have the president telling them to get a man on Mars by the end of the decade. Initial exploration of planets is already being done with rovers where they don't have to worry about a return trip, supplies, and other necessities humans require.

this is incorrect. Up until recently we didnt have satellites pointing cams at earth at far enough distances to get the whole thing in one pic, now there are several that take dozens of pics of earth a day that are uploaded to the internet in real time, before then we had to make composites of hundreds of images to get a full image of the earth because the satellites we were taking the pics from were much closer to earth.

>He represents American white trash; deplorable and irredeemable.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sbT3_9dJY4
>at about 14:55

I believe the footage was edited to make it appear he was calling Trump supporters deplorable, etc. and the statements giving context to those remarks was removed.
I suppose it's also possible they used CGI heads and voice manipulators to make it appear he was saying those things.
However, if either of these were the case, it's strange that Assange never made a clarifying statement after the interview.

They don't have the technology means they would have to figure out the problems again. Using old tech wouldn't work, for one, because it wouldn't be compatible with todays advancements in computer chips, GPS, etc..

Secondly, they would have to create a whole new rocket. Apollo rockets wouldn't work. You can't just refurbish it, and do you really think the facilities to make the rocket were maintained for all those years? They "destroyed" them because they served their purpose

Maybe NASA would be able to if asshats like you stopped spreading ignorance.

Simple. NASA went to the moon when America was still affordable, when plumbers could buy their own house and provide for their entire family, wife staying at home.

Then production got outsourced to other countries, salaries increased without the productivity of the nation making up for them. (Especially in the management tier.) So now everything is expensive as fuck while both parents have to work two jobs each to get by. If the average American family can't afford a new car anymore, then how can NASA afford rockets and astronauts? They can't.

My advice as a German: Lose a war for once, get the entire country lying in ruins, and start from scratch. Worked totally fine in our case.

Flat Earth idiots listen the fuck up. Here's your proof b the Earth is round. First, find a flat surface like a table. Put your finger down on it and move 90° one way, now make a 90° right turn and travel the same distance. Make another 90° right turn going the same distance. Remember where you are. Now find a globe or even a ball will work. Do the exact same thing and you will end up back where you were. If the Earth was flat you couldn't do that. Earth is round. Period.

How many times has the distance of the sun changed?

NASA's astronomical figures always sound perfectly precise, but heliocentrists have historically been notorious for regularly and drastically changing them to suit their various models. For instance, in his time Nicolas Copernicus calculated the Sun’s distance from Earth to be 3,391,200 miles. The next century Johannes Kepler decided it was actually 12,376,800 miles away. Issac Newton once said, “It matters not whether we reckon it 28 or 54 million miles distant for either would do just as well!” How scientific!? Benjamin Martin calculated between 81 and 82 million miles, Thomas Dilworth claimed 93,726,900 miles, John Hind stated positively 95,298,260 miles, Benjamin Gould said more than 96 million miles, and Christian Mayer thought it was more than 104 million! Nowadays they have settled around 93 million for the time-being.

If the earth has the correct curvature we're told, why give flat earthers any ammo by using a fisheye lens or cgi replica AT ALL??

>Why fake the shape of earth??

I suspect is has to do with new land discoveries, possible other lifeforms that have better advancements in technology.

If the earth is a sphere, theres nowhere else to bother exploring. It also creates a one-world religion of scientific explanation.

Considering the earth is flat, it raises a lot of uncomfortable questions, not just about lies but the reality of what we exist on.

Think about it, what if instead of planets, there were just islands to be discovered? There would be new plants, new fungi, new minerals, new food, new creatures, NEW EVERYTHING!!!

This is a scary concept. Modern science is less of a skeptics tool and more of a world religion.

If you try to redefine what others perceive as reality, it incites questions of the unknown which creates fear and contempt.

Its comfy to assume with know everything and that scientists have tackled all the hard questions. Living on a ball rather than an infinite plane greatly reduces those questions.

File: curvechart2.jpg (89KB, 720x960px) Image search: [Google]
curvechart2.jpg

The accepted curve is 8(miles squared)
or
8in.(distance in miles^2)

Which means to take the square root of the distance traveled in miles and then multiply that figure by eight inches.

So for example, if you traveled one mile, the formula would look something like this;

8(1×1) = 8 Inches of total curvature

And for the first ten miles traveled of curvature in inches…

8(1×1) = 8 Inches of total curvature
8(2×2) = 32 Inches of total curvature
8(3×3) = 72 Inches of total curvature
8(4×4) = 128 Inches of total curvature
8(5×5) = 200 Inches of total curvature
8(6×6) = 288 Inches of total curvature
8(7×7) = 392 Inches of total curvature
8(8×8) = 512 Inches of total curvature
8(9×9) = 648 Inches of total curvature
8(10×10) = 800 Inches of total curvature

Yet we can't measure any curvature AT ALL!!

Flat earthers are a ,mixture of disinfo and useful idiots. It doesn't even make any sense and the only real evidence they have is Admiral Byrd's interview.

It's perfectly plausible that NASA would have faked the moon landing though. Also awful suspicious that no one else has done manned moon missions, even if NASA got heavily defunded and they "lost all the scientists" that doesn't mean Russia wouldn't have tried to get to the moon themselves. Just because we did a quick landing and explored a small area of the moon doesn't mean everything up there is worthless. I mean even bringing back a moon rock could fetch a high price on the collector's market, I guess.

Still sounds bullshit that all the scientists died, taking their work with them. This was the sixties, shit should have been recorded in detail. Not like ancient times where we still can't make napalm like Constantinpole or forge Damascus or whatever since the processes were never recorded.

How can you explain the Midnight Sun?

https://youtu.be/LjvtmzbEgm8

>During Arctic summer, from the 22nd to the 25th of June, at a high enough latitude and altitude, you can watch a phenomenon known as “the Midnight Sun” where the Sun stays continuously visible in the sky for 3 days straight! The “Midnight Sun” rises on the 22nd and for the next 72 hours never disappears from sight, slowly ascending and descending every 12 hours, showing 3 brilliant “sunsets” and “sunrises” without ever actually setting below the horizon. If the Earth were actually a spinning globe revolving around the Sun, the only place such a phenomenon as the Midnight Sun could be observed would be at the poles. Any other vantage point from 89 degrees latitude downwards could never, regardless of any tilt or inclination, see the Sun for 24 hours straight. To see the Sun for an entire revolution on a spinning globe at a point other than the poles, you would have to be looking through miles and miles of land and sea for part of the revolution! Anyone below the 89th parallel could never witness the Sun for 72 hours, 3 whole revolutions, straight because to do so would be to assume you are somehow seeing “through the globe” and to the Sun on the other side! Since such an assumption is ridiculous, and yet the Midnight Sun can clearly be seen as low as the 65 parallel, this is another absolute proof that Earth is the flat, stationary center of the universe.

Some information may have been lost to translation and interpretation (consider how many different Bible editions there are), which is why I (a heathen to all believers of Abrahamic religions - really, I debated them) only trust that which is universally common among them as a portion of the true teachings of those religions.

Keep in mind, the Bible reads like a poem - some things are explicit, some you will find from context are comparisons or allegories.

The circle of the Earth may well be interpreted as a circular 3D object - a ball / sphere, the heavenly curtain are the starts and clouds.

The Bible does imply light moves, as how can something which does not move have a path?

>Channels of the sea
How is that not a description of an underwater river or rift?

And one more thing - Earth as the center of the Universe. I'll paraphrase one philosopher: give me a point of reference and I'll move the world. Since all movement is relative, I can fix the Earth in place and have the entire Universe move around it. It is a scientific convenience to model things around the sun and move them on elliptical paths, though in reality we are spiraling around a sun orbiting the center of the galaxy, which itself is hurling along God-knows-what path.

So you expect me to take this as evidence of them faking 0G using CGI when there's an object floating in front of the astronaut in that very shot? If he seemed to be following an invisible object and "pretending" it's there that would be something, but all you've shown me is footage of an astronaut manipulating an object in 0G in front of a grid screen. It seems far more likely that they are actually just tracking the movement of the object in 0G for some reason.

There is 1 thing to disagree on something when both parties have spent time actually looking at the subject, its a completely different thing when someone just spouts the same crap we ALL learned in school and basically every argument is founded in authoritarianism; "oh you arent as smart as einstein, so how can you even talk about it?"
"lol you really think nasa and the jewish government would lie about the world?"
"HA! did you not see the cameras on weatherballoons? clearly they show an amazing convex and sometimes a concave horizon."

get your head out of your fucking ass and actually treat the people you "debate" with on a intellectual level; why have they broken with what authoritarian science tells us to just believe in? what real arguments are being used? what things have i believed that was wrong? (like pictures of the earth from space being real pictures and not cgi creations from strings of data; AS IT IS)

Faking moon landing and not being able to go above lower orbit is more belivable.

you call people retarded but literally your logical chain is beyond stupid.
First off; if i made a program to fake humans, i would duplicate all errors seen in any form of video-capture. either for post-edit or on-the-fly edit you can use these errors to mask worse mistakes. And there will always be 1 million low-iq sheep, like yourself, going for the most obvious answer and nothing more.

What you're doing is the same as doubting the shape of a map because a bus route doesn't go straight from your house to the bus station.

There are other passengers you retard it's more profitable to take the longer route. Doubt there'd be much profit in air traffic running exclusively between new Zealand and Chile.

nice job there dude. FYI; only you sheep say they take these images, because you refuse to listen to them and live with your religion. they say time after time they HAVE to edit them, because they are either tiny tiny strips of images that they splice together or they are data-readings that they translate into color etc post-production.

This is to do with the economics of air travel. There's simply not enough people flying from New Zealand to Chile to justify creating a flight path. Rather, flights connect through busy hub airports (LA, NY, SYD) where there is always demand.

Its true, people freak out.

20 Why Is the Vatican the Largest and Longest Owners of Telescope Observatories, Including the Newest Named L.U.C.I.F.E.R.?

A key to understanding how long the myth of a global heliocentric, agnostic, universe has been perpetuated on all is to understand how long and deep the Vatican has been involved with observing the heavens all the way back to Copernicus, (who himself became a catholic priest in the last years of his life and studied cannon law).

Through owning all of the information coming from the heavens, along with NASA, they been able to steer and control the narratives that we all learn about what is, and has been going on in our universe.

These narratives have include controlled opposition stories of scientific breakthroughs by Copernicus, Newton, Kepler and Galileo who all had their findings vetted through the Royal Society of England, who validated scientific theory through the 19th century, as well as the Vatican.

>>
>>140302447
also; gravity is a key issue that is being argued about. Why? because gravity does not explain anything that you cannot already explain with mass-density and buoyancy. gravity is just using the observed density of the composition of our atmosphere and how items of higher/lower mass-density reacts in that until it hit a mass that has a higher mass-density than our atmosphere.
thats why a gas goes up; like airbubbles in water it will rise until it reaches the layer where its mass-density is at balance.
Thats why a crumbled piece of paper falls quicker to the ground than a flat piece of paper.
gravity should be proven to be a distinct force that cannot be explained in other models and not use it as a root to describe everything from.
Even Einstein said there is no such thing as a gravitational force, yet you know better. thank god
>>
>>140316539
