06z September 3rd: in contrast with yesterday, where only one GEFS ensemble member was OTS, today's GEFS ensembles contain no out to sea solutions
Optimistic. Irma's done wallowing around in slightly too-cool waters and is moving into warmer stuff over today/tonight.
Same track as Fran in 96. I was just a rugrat, but Fran fucked NC up good.
Good news for Jose's development
I live in a reinforced concrete block house on the mainland and outside of a flood zone. I'm gonna sit my happy ass down and ride this bad boy out. My buddy who lives out in Satellite Beach is planning on crashing with me though. Wise choice overall. Barrier islands aren't the place to be in bad storms.
Also got me some of these.
The middle school? I'm not terribly far off, but not in that neighborhood.
>no out to sea solutions.
I'm about 100 miles inland in Georgia. I'm basically at the point where people are first allowed to leave the highway during evacuations.
Send me your qt's, I'll take care of them.
I work for a local government below you. We are already on alert. If there is an evacuation, I have already been told I will be staying at the Emergency Management Office. We had enough of this shit with Matthew. We don't want his sister.
Trump lives in West Palm Beach.
I left but i grew up there so i know basically where the floods happen, youre somewhere in "the block" unless youre on the lucky side of fountainhead. either way the houses never flood there except maybe around the blinking light on us1 god i miss that town
>Harris County flood control officials: no more uncontrolled releases from Addicks, Barker
But all the faggots where saying the dam was going to fail!!!
jesus that god old, people who didn't even know what a spillway was claiming that they knew the dam was going to fail.
12z GFS more SW and a bit stronger
6z GFS vs 12z
I have been pulling stories from the local zello channels about looters, vigilante justice, people mobbing supply convoys, etc I can release if anyone wants to listen so you know what's going on here
Starting to move north.
I had heard that 4 rescuers got shot by cops, some guy was either trying to suicide or suicide by cop and that a boat got shocked and fried 2 rescuers. oh yea and a rescuer got arrested and went rogue.
It was all just chatter but i would like to know more i dont think anything got confirmed
If you know the channels you can tell who is a dispatch or mod and has been working since the beginning to coordinate rescue and supply and they have said similar already.
Just jumped NW 883mb
They use private channels to coordinate tactical teams but they have to use open comms to coordinate supplies and rescues to prevent multiple unconnected teams from working on the same rescues or oversupplying an area.
Good luck wilmington
Strongest landfall ever?
6 hours later. >150knots <900mb landfall possibly.
>But all the faggots where saying the dam was going to fail!
The dam was going to fail. The officials made all the right decisions, from opening the dams during the flooding (August 29th 2am), doubling the outflow(August 29 9am). Plus whatever the construction crew did that went there in the middle of the flood at around 3pm. Whatever they did to increase from 8000 cfs at Addicks to 10000 the 30th also helped it get below the spillway faster, maybe it was starting to deteriorate.
>>Harris County flood control officials: no more uncontrolled releases from Addicks, Barker
This just means that any water being released is going through a gate, not a spillway or over the wall. Only "controlled" release.
There's still a tiny chance the dam could fail from erosion, but that chance is much lower now that the water is going through the channels they repaired in 2009. Plus even if it does fail now most areas still have madatory evacuation orders that are in their pathway.
>The dam was going to fail.
Not really - the designed spillways and gate system did what it was designed to do. This wasn't even like the California dam where some of the built in safety measures started to fail.
Landfall keeps moving south in last 7 GFS runs.
I wonder if it hits Florida?
Here’s the gif
>won't hit new england
ITS NOT FAIR. I JUST WANT A HABBENNIG.
Nor'easters are a joke and the last hurricane to hit up here was like sandy at a category 2. Why can't a freak accident happen and some Cat3+ just ride straight up along the coast and smash into Boston.
You guys down south get all the fun.
>mfw Florida gets cucked again
We haven't had a hurricane in over a decade.
Except that they didnt, because water was still going over the wall, which is what would have caused the failure, unlike in Cali where the spillway path broke(but had enough capacity to not allow overflow of the dam top) and was going to compromise the face of the dam if it deteriorated any further up the spillway.
p much this.
>mfw rode out Charlie, Frances, Jeanne and Ivan
>mfw the first three were a week apart each
While the Jew Yorkers run for water and batteries we run for liquor and beer, it's part of being Floridian.
t.6th generation Florida native
Wrong, it was going over a small section on the northern spillway that has a concrete casing.
The Cali dam also had it going over a concrete spillway, but the concrete broke and caused all sorts of erosion.
The only worry was water pooling well to the south of the spillway where it is just dirt and causing damage to the dam, but that didn't happen, nor did the worries of it flowing south to the already maxed out Bayou system that was getting the 16,000 CFS from the gates.
I've had food and water on hand since June. Definitely need to boost the booze stock though. I'm low on bourbon.
Ay cunts. We ought to have a Brevard meet-up.
Charleston anons, if this gets us, let's team up and take over the Waffle House next to the circle holiday inn. We'd eat like kings until we died. And we could share Pepe memes until the cows came Jerome
Thats actually not true. It was also going over here.
Matthew's sister is not welcome.
Have some Euro-model
Good Anon, I added a bunch of values from the
system last night. 25 inches of rain expected
in Wilmington, and 11 inches of rain expected
here in Jacksonville, NC. And 25 inches of sandbags are expected in Camp Lejeune
K...KEEP ME POSTED
In all seriousness, good luck to them and good luck to all my fellow southerners that are looking to be within Irma's path.
We will get the coast evacuated for the most part, but we have a shitty democrat gov and it a Cat 5 if it hits at that power.
Even florida gets fucked if they get hit by a cat 5
Looks like Irma is coming out of the WSW movement and now moving due West. Just a wobble or change of direction?
If she's coming out of her "dip" now it would be a big deal and give her a better chance at escaping out to sea
I mean about the only thing you got going over there these days is pretty good BBQ by the Ford place and historic buildings.
12z GEFS ensembles. Back to 1 OTS solution, further south and west than previous. Seems to be curbing to a UKMET/Euro solution. Right now, Irma is NOT as far south and west as the UK and Euro models (and now GEFS)
I actually live in Charlotte. I have family in Sumter.
still at it 4 days later?
No bottled water at Costco or Sam's Club in the area of Caguas here. The staff told me they didn't got strawberries and other fruits in fear of a electrical shutdown. Good thing I always have provitions for 3 months.
Wobble watching is not recommended, all of them wobble. Lots of the hurricane board are full of fools that follow every wobble, year after year after year. Do not be one of them.
I was here in 89 for Hugo. I'm fucking pumped.
It's rapid ERCs. Sign of a very strong, very healthy hurricane. It's also served to form a layer of protective insulation to prevent the dry air from getting wrapped up in her circulation.
When she gets north of the bahamas we'll probably see a very big, very defined eye
Charlotte anon here, ready to make a run on all the booze.
Nice digits. Most destructive hurricane in history incoming.
Remember, in the event of a major hurricane, buy plenty of alcohol, canned food, flash light and batteries, download periscope, and shitpost from the safety of your home and or apartment.
I've already started gathering supplies. I really hope we get slammed, this city needs some excitement.
I hear ya. Living here is already hell.
my face looked like this when they flipped that over, they cheated there's no way.
Thank god this thing wont hit nyc
Paniced for no reason last night
Orlando master race here.
So I got:
>Canned foods and goods for at least a month for two people
>Enough water for two weeks for two people
>Batteries for my lantern, and I'll charge my other flash light batteries
>First aid kit
Anything I'm forgetting? I really want to get some storm shutters or AstroGuard. Considering also getting a camp grill.
I hate to complain about the city over all. I'm in my 30s, and as a white suburbanite, I like the mundane nature of this place. No real nigger, or faggot problems around here.
I just wish we got crazier weather.
Good for prepping, but Orlando won't get shit. It never does. Everyone I know leaves to Orlando or Tampa when a hurricane happens because its inland and there's some stuff to do.
Also MELBOURNE MASTER RACE
I-I didn't even want it to hit New York, anyway. Hurricanes are stupid! I hate them. G-get fucked, NC!
Niggers not welcome. Pic related.
I lived through 2005, and it was fucking awful. Power was out for 2 weeks, water out for 3-4 days. I want to at least be comfortable this time. I'm considering getting a Honda quiet generator and a small portable 500 SQ FT A/C.
Right now I'm just looking at safety and essentials though.
>Ik we've got some brainlets on here, just don't put you're generator inside the house.
Wait why not? I was getting a quiet to put in the baby's room so it doesn't wake him up.
But seriously, I'm going to run it in the drive way and run a cable up to my 2nd story. That way I can shoot niggers if they try to steal it.
Both the wife's car and mine are full right now. However, this thing doesn't look like it would hit until next week so I'm going to have to stay on top of gas.
>implying my grandfather is alive
>implying my father is alive
>implying you know your father
Its the changing ridges west and eat of the storm, and as time gets closer we will see greater accuracy. Don't expect the southward adjustments to be linear over time. I would say by the 6th we'll pretty much know who will be fucked.
HOLY SHIT ITS HEADED FOR GOM
a-am i gonna be kill?
wait so it's not coming to wilmington, nc anymore?
Set up a level spot on the roof for the little genni. Don't have to worry about niggers or running cords threw flood waters. The little whisper Honda's have no problems getting wet, just put some painters tape on the sockets your not using and wrap any cord connections f you using multiple cords with electrical tape.
Might also be a good idea if you have any 12v batteries (car, deep cell, Marine or any) to buy a decent power inverter and a 12v charger that you can run while you have the genni on. If your going to be running the genni anyways might as well be creating an alternative power source at the same time.
Exactly this. Poor little Texas can't handle the hurricane bants. Meanwhile we were flying kites when Charlie's eye was over us.
AAAAAAAAAAND WE'RE OFF
fucking Euro mang
Only /Our Guy/ can predict the true path of the storm. Wait till he gives his final alert
not with the low pressure moving in from the north, that cool front is going to push anything northeast
Do you think that's what the people running Air Jamaica were telling themselves when Gilbert came calling. Dumb niggers didn't even move all their planes to the US and a lot of them were destroyed. Fucking brand new A300s.
I was born in a hurricane. I'm betting I'm gonna die in one too.
Miami here, it's been an honor shitposting with you all
Fellow NCfag here
I'm downloading all the anime and porn I can so I can die as I lived, with my dick in hand.
>When your houses aren't made of Cardboard.
>Made with solid concrete, metal rods, bricks and rock.
what did they mean by this?
This. Everyone has their altitudes set super high where the winds are the greatest, thats why we have so many fags screaming that it'll be a monster storm. The only measurement that matters is ground level, and that reaches a max of 130.
>Uncertainty still too large at Day 6-7 to do better than coin-flip on direction of Hurricane #Irma ... hopefully Aircraft Recon data helps
The latest ECMFW ensembles and GFS Ensembles have put the gulf much more into play.
>all these Yuropoors jacking themselves off thinking about how superior the Euro is
>shifts 600 miles every run
yuropoors will defend this
