If you're a rockstar CS stud from MIT and are the straightest, whitest male the universe has ever known...you're getting the job. ANY job.

But. If you're a run-of-the-mill average IT degree-mill dildo, then yes, the nigger whore is getting the job over you because you're nothing special.

So do yourself a favor. Get certified, and get certs that people give a shit about.

If you can go to university, go to a Top 20 with name recognition. Don't be one of these fucktards who goes to University of Toronto and think ANYONE in the U.S. gives a shit. You might as well have gone to Devry. No one cares, even though U of Toronto is a good school.

Get a degree in CS; it's the only real computer degree. MIT is starting to offer a decent non-CS IT program, but it's business-focused as much as it is IT, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Just don't act like you're in the same league as the CS boys, because you're not.

After that, get certs. CCNA/CCNE/CCIE, MCSE, SQL DBA, CISSP, et al. Get ones that HR departments have heard of. They have NO IDEA what they mean, all they know is they've seen that particular collection of letters on other websites.

OK now you're marketable. Get a job. And once you get the job, DO NOT BE A SPERGIE CUNT. Be cool, do your job and do it REALLY fucking well. Enjoy your fat paycheck and incredible job portability.
